The Greatest Gene
Accelerated Institution

Accelerated Institution

Cain arrived at the fairgrounds and was instantly drawn into the atmosphere, kids from all over the world were here, to take part in this event. Planet Earth was ruled by the Genetic Warrior Union, and their headquarters was located in the center of the continent, the warriors had used their strength to refuse the continents in order to create a supercontinent, in order to make the world more united.

One didn’t need to worry about distance since a teleportation pod could get you across the world in an instance. Cain knew this would be one of the most important moments of his life, and his college would decide his future path. Each college focused on a different aspect, some focused on defense, some power, some on the elements, their were specialized schools that focused on animal like genes that let one transform. Cain’s gene was special and hence none of the colleges were specialized in teaching him. Hence he had to choose the next best option.

“Elemental Warriors College”

“Myriad Beast Form College”

“Iron Blood College”

Cain looked over the top three colleges but noticed none of them were right for him, so he continued his search elsewhere.

“Accelerated Institution”

It was a school that was focused on movement based genes, one could tell just by looking that it didn’t get much support. Schools like this that focused on less popular genes tended to be weaker than others. While movement genes were popular, they were rather rare and most people would opt for strength or defense when it came to their first gene. Strength and defense were more comprehensive and tended to compliment one another, hence defense genes would increase strength and vice versa. Genetic Researchers would choose speed to increase their brain power and in turn increase their deduction abilities.

Accelerated Institution was a school primarily focused on nurturing Genetic Researchers, people who would try to derive and create new genes. They would also attempt to create new fusions which in turn would create stronger genes, as well as making medicine and elixirs that could heal and strengthen. Despite the fact that Cain didn’t originally have plans to become a Genetic Researcher, he realized it would be a waste of his potential to go somewhere else, and just because they were mainly focused on Genetic Research, doesn’t mean he couldn’t also increase his strength.

Cain headed towards the young man at the front desk and realized he was snoring away. He tapped on his shoulder before the young man shook and shot up into perfect posture.

“Ahh sorry for that, this stand is pretty unpopular and it isn’t rare to go a semester without anyone enrolling. Usually genetic researchers go to private schools and can apply here directly without worry.”

“I see, well I’d like to enroll regardless if that’s alright”

“Of course, of course. Come you can wait here until the event is over and I’ll lead you towards our institution”

Cain wasn’t shocked by this revelation, Genetic Researchers burnt through money like it was nothing, so usually only the children of the rich and influential would get into it, and children like that would never bother to attend a public school and would only ever go to private schools focused on nurturing them completely. Unless one had shocking talent, most regular people would choose to become Genetic Warriors instead.

After a few more hours, the event had finally come to a close. Everyone seemed satisfied with their choices and quickly followed their guides towards their new colleges. Cain followed the young man and they entered a private vehicle, there was another young lady who had also joined after Cain whose name was Rose.

“So Cain, Rose, both of you come from public schools which don’t teach much about Genetic Research other then the absolute basics, hence you may be at a disadvantage when we reach, but don’t let that get to you. Time and effort will let you catch up to the others, you just have to give it 100%”

The young man, who Cain now knew was called Pello, was extremely impassioned when he started his speech. You could tell he was most likely one of the less talented students, since only the less capable student’s would be chosen to take part in events like this. Most students recruited from public schools ended up underachieving and so the institution didn’t bother with them.

Soon, the private vehicle pulled up towards a castle like estate, students were going back and forth among the premises, books in hands, as if the outside world didn’t affect them whatsoever. Cain felt out of place among these bookworms, and almost started regretting his decision, however Cain was the type who did everything fully, since he was here He’d naturally do his best.

Pello gave them a quick tour of the massive place before leading them towards their rooms.

“Tomorrow will be orientation, it will take place in the lobby at 8am, don't be late. You’ll choose your courses there, so sleep well.”
