ONE SHALL REMAIN

----------------------------------------

After putting on the plates of chitting as armor I decided to climb a high spot to get a better view, we have to find a place to rest. I climbed the wall of the cave which I have gotten close to without noticing. It was dark but I could see just fine with my superior vision.

It's a 5×5×5 cave, now I'm not a genius but I'm pretty sure this cave isn't natural. But neither am I. I bring my thumb to my mouth and bite on the chitting claw that still has to harden with a frown. Where to go? We need safe shelter in order to rest. Can't use our webs, we can't produce enough to house everyone. Our bodies aren't build to dig and even if one of us knew how to use earth magic, were just hatchlings our bodies barely even produce mana. No, we have to scavenge. Find a pre build shelter that was abandoned, or force whatever is currently in it to abandon.

The wound I got from the atack shortly after hatching is still hurting, I'm using all the anima I can yet all I can do is make sure it doesn't catch an infection and stop it from opening from all the movement.

The strider who I helped suit up with egg armor caught my attention by also climbing the wall. He was now also dressed in chitting armor, can he do it on his own now?

He climbed up next to me, why is he always trying to get so close to me anyways? He abruptly stopped just below me and looked me in the eyes.

He then pointed in one of the two directions and pointed down, he pointed then in the other and pointed up.

'Right up, left down. Alright, right it is!'

I then started climbing down the wall, naturally the other strider is there before me and is holding...something?

It's one of the antenna of the armoured serpent he killed and one of its fangs bound together by (probably) his threads. He held it by the middle of the antenna and made a few jabbing motions with it.

'A weapon?'

I held my hand out and he handed it over. It's light and would easily break on contact. He moved some anima in my direction and I got the hint. I first made streams of anima to my wound so that even if I fully concentrade on something else it wouldn't worsen. Then I moved a lot of anima into the weapon, firstly I should harden the antenna and also make it tough or else it would shatter. I put all the anima I have gathered into that and later I would change the fang.

He also had a bag of silk on top of his carapace with who knows what in it.He has a weapon of his own, the othe fang but the part that used to be in the body is wrapped with the other antenna.

I waited until everyone was done eating and gearing up. Then I caught everyone's attention with a loud hiss and then walked into the direction that the strider told me was up. Up probably means surface and that could help alot. On the surface rodents usually make rather big shelters, but there's to many of us for that. Should we use our webs to make shelter out of tree branches? Maybe. The best case scenario would be finding the abandoned home of a sentient.

If we're in a sandy area than we could burry ourselves with sand, but that's the least likely and my least favourite scenario. Worst case scenario is that this cave is right next to a settlement of sentient. A good scenario would be if it was near a settlement, giving us a chance for a stealthy approach.

On our way we came across some other insectoid creatures, these ones had only six legs, inferior chitting holders. The smart strider always took some pieces from them and made himself an helmet, and chittineous glove which he handed me, usually it would be unneeded but my chitting is still soft so I took it.

He seems to have a lot on his mind so I named him thinker.

Oh, is that light I see?
