Atzul watched as the guards dragged Aerya away, the guards are oversized arachnid which are almost completely covered in chitting and the only way to differ them from striders is by looking them in the face. Actually she isn't even schure that they're arachnids, might be striders.
She waited until the screeches couldn't be heard anymore. Then she turned her attention to her batch of eggs. Just like reported there are 60 thumb sized white spheres. Which is a low number for a arachnid Queen.
'This is my last batch of eggs anyways, ugh I'm getting to old for this. I should retire, to bad that can't be done from my position without being killed afterwards.'
Even though her age Atzul is gorgeousm looking dressed in blue and white robes. Her skin unnaturally smooth and she stands a little taller than an ork.
Once she walked up close enough to the batch, she picked up two interesting eggs.
----------------------------------------
Meanwhile in one of the said eggs
Oouuuhhhhhhh
Is this how movement feels like?
It's exciting and terrifying.
Excitement because in the future I will be definitely be able to do such movements on a much larger scale.
Terrifyid because its outside my control and whatever is moving me could kill me easily, I'm just an egg!
But that mana, I'm not familiar with mana or anything that isn't anima, but this mana, I know it, a primal instinct which holds no meaning nor intelligence. But ungodly importance, this, is my mother, I know it is.
And that brings forth a feeling, not warmth, not love, not curiosity, I feelt it before, its fear and something else.
Absolute terror
Arachnids, they don't raise they're young, whichever one slips through the cracks gets to become an adult.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.
Which are mostly striders, trading with one is good, but raising one is better.
You really don't like by playing by nature's rules do you?
Cheaters always win.
----------------------------------------
Meanwhile
Atzul brought the two eggs closer to her face and then readied herself to cast a spell.
'The anima using one is already awakened, now now my child I can't just give you a headstart'
And then after casting, the other egg also awakened.
----------------------------------------
Meanwhile
I am.
I...came...to.....be
No.
I already was.
Then why now?
It's to early.
What to do?
Hmm
There's something, but what?
I moved some more to find where it came from.
Ah.
It comes from me.
Some kind of...Energy?
I move even more but then I start to fell heavy.
I'm out of it?
I should wait until I have more, until I hatch.
----------------------------------------
Atzul smiled as.she watched the two eggs do the only thing they can.
Mana and anima are wastly different. Mana is the Energy of the soul and generated by living things.
Anima is the truth of existence, and can actually not be made by living things, but every creature changes the anima around them thus giving the illusion of generating anima, anima just is.
A being born with mana can use mana to change anima into something like fire, but the greater the change the more mana it eats up. And to (depending on spell) [ uuuuuuuuuh foreshadow] keep the spell going you have to keep on feeding it mana.
However, if the change to anima is done by anima then it's permanent, the fire keeps on burning. But it's ungodly slow, that's why it can't be used in the offence, but imaging it some one who can permanently enhance your body and even make you immune to any diseas they understand.
The best leader is a precious one.
These two deserve names
Komutzu, the patient one.
Komuku, the ferocious one.
Atzul named Komutzu because of the general nature of anima and Komuku because of the way it used it's mana.
Now they have to grow on their own without my or anyone else's guidence.
Atzul remembers the first time she sent out a batch of eggs into the wild.
She puts down the two eggs and then snaps her fingers.
Chitting hitting chitting made a soft clack sound.
"Goodluck" she whispers in a voice not meant to be heard.
Two guards pass by her and this time she looks them in the face.
'Huh, they really are striders'
The guards gently gather the eggs and then carry them away. As they pass Atzul they're collasal size make her seem like a child compared to them.
----------------------------------------
Some time later
Hey uhh is it just me or are becoming harder to hear?
Probably because the moment of birth is getting closer, I probably won't be with you after you hatch.
Wait how much time has passed?
Well....
