Chapter 17 2/2

I swear if Dimitriv comes back with another wounded creature that he needs me to stitch up....

Though I admit both the snake and owl were great practice, the snake taught me how to change something in itself and not cover it like my prior attempt. The owl put up a lot more resistant and that's how I learned how to condense anima. My anima control is worlds past what it used to be but its still nowhere near the controll I had in that dream a week or so ago. I still can't give anima orders.

Speaking of my dream, I wonder how Komuku is doing.

Meanwhile with Komuku

Good news and bad news. Good news is that we barely lost anything to the forest fire (we're down two people). Bad news is that we don't have shelter.

We have been wandering through fields for a day now and still couldn't find good shelter. After what happened I stopped with all my mana experiments, what if it happened again and we wouldn't be that lucky again?

How will I lead if I can't control my biggest strength? I looked back at all the arachnids following me, what will I do if they turn against me? I'm not the strongest, I'm not the smartest, I'm not the fastest, I'm not the most lethal, I'm not the most venomous, I'm not the most skillful. So how will I lead?

But then through all my doubts I heard a familiar voice that I never heard before.

"The same way how you already lead"

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

Komuku is really struggling isn't she? Though I find some irony in it that Komutzu is a lot more confident than his arachnid sister even though his talent will bloom a lot later whilst Komuku's is already showing colour.

Is it my fault? Maybe.

Do I feel bad? No.

I look up to the sun.

I don't see beauty worthy of the whole world's attention.

"Where are we going?"

"To the leader!"

"And who's the leader?"

"I don't know!"

A part of me feels shame of being captured by something as inexperienced as this though there seems to also be some other reason but I can't put my finger on it.

...

Huh

That's a spider person. Is it like me? No it isn't, but there seems to something dangerous about it. My instincts and senses tell me that it's bite is venomous, very venomous.

The spider and snake don't seem to understand each other but I can understand both of them, weird.

He's treating her like a child which only strengthens my shame. But at this rate I will meet their leader pretty soon. And by what I picked up the last mana being that meet him didn't really have a good ending.

Not sure what happened to it, maybe it was eaten? Or killed! Fear started to gather in my stomach and an uneasy feeling formed at the back of my throat.

...

My fear peaked when I saw the leaders nest. It was not soothing my panicking mind.

...

It's dark but that doesn't really matter.

There stood a spider person larger than any other I saw before and its sharp gaze just made it even more intimidating.

"Is that the leader?"

"No, silly!"

Then it moved to the side to reveal two others, one taller than the other. The girls eyes glistened when she saw them and with me in her hands approached them.

Just now I realised that I'm being handed over as a gift.

In the corner of my eye I saw something yellow that caught my attention. Yellow strings that someone tried to make rope from but failed miserably. I pointed at them which seems to confuse most except the taller one of the two.

He took me out of the hands of the child and brought me to the strings.

First you take this one and the with another one you...

The first spiders learnt to weave by watching moths.
