Chapter 8: The adventurer exam part 2
In the dungeon space.
Lucas pov.
I finally have visitors and so many at once as well though if there are so many of them wouldn't they just breeze through the dungeon? Hmm, that is indeed worrying. As I was starting to worry about this issue a system message popped up.
[Ding, it has been detected that the requirements have been met]
[Host has gained access to the hidden function of the skill dungeon space]
[Dungeon space (hidden function)
Virtual dungeon lvl.1
This function allows the dungeon core to create countless virtual copy dungeons to accommodate each party of challengers with a dungeon raid without being interfered with by other challenger parties. Warning beware that the virtual dungeon cannot be used for high-level individuals.]
Wow, this function is gonna be so useful, you are a real lifesaver system, you know that.
As I was speaking with the system. I noticed that the adventurers kept pouring into the dungeon from the gateway which was an arch with many intricately carved symbols in it and had a whirling gateway made of immense energy Also the gateway they came through seemed to be invisible to the challengers for some reason. Anyways, let's quickly activate the virtual dungeon skill to separate them.
Alright, then System quickly activate the virtual dungeon and separate these challenger parties into one dungeon each.
As soon as I finished thinking as I had noticed that I actually can't talk which was surprising, to say the least. The dungeon space had started to slowly branch out into new smaller dungeon spaces which only had the first floor and nothing else in it and the parties were being transported by the dungeon space to these new dungeon spaces.
Woah it's truly beautiful, it's like the dungeon space is a tree and the virtual dungeons are its branches, and the remaining space which had colorful aurora in it was the leaves of the tree. As I marveled at the mesmerizing scenery of the dungeon space.
Miles and his party had finished resting and were on the move again to try and escape the forest.

They moved in a formation such that Miles was at the front, Luke was at the back, and Robin and Luna were on the other two sides meaning the four of them were protecting the healer and magician Rebecca in the center while they moved forward.
“Hey guys look, I think I now know how the wolves had found us,” said Rebecca while holding a thick encyclopedia of monsters.
“Oh nice you found the reason then tell us why they had found us,” said Luna with an impatient tone.
“Ok, so look here it says that the wolves that we had fought were forest guard wolves which are earth type right,” said Rebecca while showing a page in the encyclopedia on forest guard wolves.
“Um, of course, we know that much but we don't know how the wolves found us,” said Miles.
“So now look here it is written in very small words that there are rare dungeons where the forest guard wolves are in fact enhanced versions of their original version and that they have superior wood magic and can use this to sense any intruders in their territory as long as the place has trees in it” explained Rebecca while pointing at a very insignificant looking small writing on the end of the page in a box.
This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
“Man, seriously who fucking writes something this important in such an insignificant way like isn't this very important to know for us adventurers seriously these writers want to kill us now don't they,” shouted Miles in frustration.
“Hey Rebecca, do you know where you bought this book because I really wanna beat the shit out of them at the moment,” asked Luna while smiling terrifyingly.
“Whoa whoa calm down guys let's just forget this shitty book and focus on clearing the dungeon,” said Robin.
Just as Robin said that Miles and Luna reluctantly calmed down and shifted their focus on clearing the dungeon.
After a couple of hours of them wandering around trying to find the exit they finally made it out of the forest and were now standing in front of a big lava river in which many lava eels could be seen.
“Hey girls look, those are your friends which you had met at the volcanium aren't they,” asked Miles with a sarcastic tone.
“Yup, indeed who would have thought that we would meet so soon?” said Rebecca also with a sarcastic tone.
“Man, our luck is very bad today, don't you agree everybody?” said Robin to which everyone nodded in agreement.
Just as the party was feeling bitter about the situation a system message came to them which surprised everyone.
“What the, why is a system message coming to us all of a sudden!?” exclaimed Luke.
“Wait, that's not that important but look at what's written on it” said Rebecca while pointing at her system message window.
[To pass this dungeon floor finish the challenge for only those who can complete the challenge shall continue forward.
Fetch challenge
Go and retrieve a stone orb which is on a small stone platform in the middle of the lava river by using the footholds in the river while also dodging or killing the lava eels]
“Um Rebecca, is this normal for a dungeon's first floor?” asked Miles while raising an eyebrow.
“Nope definitely not normal, so let me just quickly check out the book about dungeons the guild gave us to see if I can find anything about it” said Rebecca.
After looking through the book she finally found out why the dungeon floor was like this.
“Alright everyone I figured out why the dungeon is like this, and the conclusion is that this is a growth-type unique dungeon as only the growth-type unique dungeons are this weird and unique”, said Rebecca.
“And another thing I found out was that if there are more than two lava eels they can use lava magic to summon a wave of lava to drown their enemies, so when we are crossing the river we need to make sure that the lava eels are always less than three,” said Rebecca.
“Now is everyone ready to fight?” asked Rebecca. “Yup let's do it, baby I'm itching for a fight,” said Miles with excitement.
“Hah what other choice do we have so I guess I am ready as well,” said Luke.“And so are we,” said Robin and Luna.
“Alright then, the plan is that Luna will use her skills to cross the river and retrieve the stone orb while we will distract the lava eels. Now go” as she finished speaking the party started running towards the footholds of the lava river.
First Miles and Luke used their skills to aggro the lava eels to them after which Robin used his skill to expand the footholds and also to make sure that no one fell, then Rebecca started to heal Miles and Luke whenever they got injured while Luna was speeding through the footholds and drawing closer to the stone orb.
After a few seconds and multiple skill activations later she has managed to get the stone orb though she did almost drop it into the lava but fortunately Robin helped in time by binding the stone orb to her hand with thick vines.
Then as she reached the other side of the river she signaled the rest of the party who were becoming exhausted after fighting the lava eels to come over as well.
They did this by having Robin make small bridges between the footholds and then having Miles and Luke use all their remaining power to unleash a powered-up skill to kill two of the lava eels and then retreat into Rebecca's light shield to cross the river.
When they had finally reached the other side all of them were extremely exhausted and were riddled with injuries. “Man that was so tough I barely had enough energy to make the last few bridges,” said Robin.
“Well, at least we crossed the river and also finished the challenge so it was worth these injuries and exhaustion,” said Luke.
“Now we just need to cross these plains and we should have cleared the dungeon though first let's rest shall we after all we deserve it,” said Rebecca while smiling happily.
