Chapter 16: The sixth floor

In the dungeon, second floor.

The explorer party had now finally crossed the desert area which was the first half of the second floor of the dungeon and reached the second half of the second floor which was the volcanic area with pools of lava.

‘Man this dungeon floor is so fucking hot,my power are getting weaker as are going deeper.’ said Luke with frustration.

‘Oh are you finally going to melt you, icy bastard then goodbye, I hope we never meet again.’ said Miles in a teasing tone.

‘Oh c'mon you guys stop arguing and Miles don't tease Luke like that would you.’ said Rebecca in annoyance.

‘Though Luke is right this dungeon floor is unnaturally hot which could prove deadly and the only reason you haven't felt it is because you are a fire user yourself.’ said Rebecca to Miles.

‘Indeed Rebecca is right, if this unnatural heat continues to grow in the later floors as well then I will also lose my power to fight as my plants would just dry or burn up after a few seconds and it will also take me more mana to grow them.’ said Robin worriedly.

While they were talking they hadn't noticed the floating spores which had floated near them and as they were walking Robin had accidentally touched one of them which immediately caused a chain reaction among the spores and all of them exploded.

But fortunately Rebecca had been vigilant and thus managed to erect her shield of light in time to protect everyone from the explosions though Robin's hand which had touched the first spore had been a little burnt.

‘What the hell are these things and where did they come from.’ asked Miles while looking around cautiously.

‘Rebecca you are a real lifesaver you know that, if you hadn't pulled me into the shield I would have been blown to pieces.’ said Robin with gratitude.

‘No problem,here show your hand, I will heal you and Luna use your shadow step skill to dodge the floating spores and figure out what's releasing them.’ said Rebecca.

After she had finished speaking Luna had immediately used her skill shadow step to rush towards the direction where the spores where the densest while Rebecca used her skill healing light to heal Robin's hand who then also helped Rebecca in maintaining the shield of light by supplying mana while Luke and Miles were on lookout duty.

After a while Luna had returned with a flower in hand which was red in colour and had small mushrooms attached to its stem and its roots had droplets of lava dripping from them though the flower at the top looked like it had dried up and turned grey.

‘Hey, what's that flower in your hand, is that what was responsible for these explosive spores floating in the air.’ asked Luke to Luna.

‘Must be,look, the spores floating in the air are already slowly decreasing.’ said Robin.

‘Indeed this flower was the one which was spewing out those explosive spores and once I uprooted it, the flower instantly dried up and only the red stem is still a little fresh.’ said Luna while handing the flower plant to Rebecca to see if she can find something out about it in the encyclopaedia.

‘Hmm, ah found it,look here it says that this flower is a floating infernal flower which is mostly found in mana rich volcanoes and that the flower releases explosive spores to protect itself from any creature.’ explained Rebecca.

‘Hmm I see that explanation does match this flower so it must be correct and it also means that we have to be on the lookout for any floating infernal flowers.’ said Robin.

‘either we have to uproot these flowers before they spew any spores or I have to continuously keep the shield of light running which is only possible for one hour max even if you guys supply me mana.’ said Rebecca.

‘Then we should use the first method and uproot any new floating infernal flowers and if we get in trouble Rebecca can use her shield to protect us.’ suggested Miles.

The party after listening to the suggestion agreed after a while of thinking and started moving forward once again.

Meanwhile in the dungeon,fifth floor.

Lucas had woken up from his rest and had started working on the sixth floor by first using the floor designation skill to designate the sixth floor.

After which he fell deep in thought for a while trying to think which theme to use and in the end decided on the theme to be going from an island to a deep sea temple.

So,for the sixth floor he chose to make the first half into an island with a forest and the second half into a beach area ending in a gateway half submerged in water.

Then he used two of his skill points to upgrade the monster creation and plant creation skills.

[The skills plant creation lvl 2 and monster creation lvl 5 have now been upgraded to plant creation lvl 3 and monster creation lvl 6]

‘Alright then, the system,show me the new choices I have for monsters.’

[Please choose any three new monster types from the following options:

Twin-headed sea serpent (infant)(unique)(fire+water)

A newborn twin-headed sea serpent which knows how to use basic fire and water magic and it also has a special fire known as sea fire which can even burn in the deep sea.{Highly recommended to choose later}

Beach fanged turtle (uncommon)(water)

A variety of beach turtles which possess very sharp teeth and have the ability to make big jaws out of water,which also have very sharp teeth and even though their walking speed is trash their necks can stretch quite a lot.

Armoured crab (uncommon)(earth)

A type of crab which has very thick and tough armour and uses its hammer like claws to smash their opponents into paste and It can also use earth magic to increase its defence.

Horned shallow fish (uncommon) (water+air)

An uncommon type of shallow water fish which has a very sharp horn which it uses to attack by launching itself at high speed using a little air and water magic towards its enemy to pierce them.

Wave turtle (rare)(water)

A rare type of beach turtle which knows how to use intermediate water magic and also has the ability to cause massive waves which can drown its enemies.]

‘Woah,I must say the system is really insistent that I do not choose the twin-headed sea serpent right now and since this new system has only helped me until now I don't see why not.’ said Lucas before thinking over which three to choose.

‘Alright, system,I choose the Armoured crab, horned shallow fish and the wave turtle as my new monster types.’ said Lucas.

After which he then asked the system to show him the options for the two new elemental plants.

[Please choose any two elemental plants from the following:

Sea flame coral (unique)(fire+water)

A unique fire and water elemental coral which can lightly strengthen all fire or water monsters around them and can increase the power of sea fire and also heal monsters when consumed.

Strangling kelp (water)

A water elemental kelp which can strengthen itself in water and bind any creatures who go near it and drown or strangle them to death.

Fake life coral (water+fire)

A rare elemental coral which acts like a living creature by using water magic and fire magic to form magical muscles around the coral skeleton and move it. Though it is still nothing but fake life as the Fake life coral moves simply on instinct and has no intelligence whatsoever.]

‘Wow, the third option this time is super creepy not gonna lie, I really do not want to look at a moving coral skeleton with muscles.’ said Lucas in disgust.

‘Though I do think it's more interesting than the strangling kelp so I will take it.’ said Lucas after considering.

‘As for the first option, that is going to be really helpful to my water monsters and especially to the twin-headed sea serpent, so definitely take it.’ said Lucas.

After this he started putting the monsters throughout the floor.
