***** Vol.4 Chap.46 Intercepted *****
Perhaps she should calm down and have dinner first. JB thought and reconsidered thoroughly to be sure.
Opening the door, two delivery men came in with the food. They closed and locked the door quickly.
Removing their disguise, JB recognized Dr. Rehoton and Dr. Subrahim who met with her earlier. They claimed to be from the real PPTSB. Motioning for her to be quiet, they waved to her to sit down.
“Please enjoy your dinner before it gets cold. We took the liberty to deliver your meal personally. We just want to ask for your help.”
JB sat there shocked and speechless.
“Oh, don’t worry about the two agents, they will be asleep for quite a while. Please enjoy your dinner while we tell you about ourselves and PPTSB.”
JB nodded and started on her dinner.
“What Dr. Schmidtiz told you about PPTSB was probably correct. He did work for us in the initial stages in genetic selection and manipulation. Disillusioned because he was not made chief scientist and simultaneously being heavily recruited by the GL, he finally left the company and joined the GL.”
Dr. Rehoton continued, “Their first trial involves genetically breeding aggressive gorillas. But they were not able to continue because the gorillas were uncontrollable.”
“You read about the gorilla attacks?” Dr. Rehoton asked.
“Of course, terrible.” JB responded in between her bites while shaking her head.
“Their second trial was using special suit exerting pressure points at the yin meridians as presented by Doctor May-Ling Chen. Are you familiar with her work?”
“Yes, but the effects were only temporary.”

“That is correct.”
A pause.
“Their third attempt was using a special blend of tea that caused the drinker to be violent.”
“I thought I heard something about that from CNN.”
“The extract was packaged as the red pill. But the tea extract was impossible to get in mass quantities, thus giving them the idea to synthesize the tea extract with common ingredients, and you helped them achieve their goal.”
“I did no such a thing,” She retorted pointing her knife at him while finishing her last bite of the prime rib.
“No? Dr. Schmidtiz told you that you were working on the blue pill, but you were actually working on the red pill. The FBI agents who interviewed you told you the same thing. Besides, mass spec of those ingredients you worked with were all published in the literature.”
JB half-finished her baked potato and threw her fork and knife down. She had no more stomach for food.
“OK, assuming what you said is true, what do you want from me?” She pouted.
“While your invention and process were clearly written in your patent applications which we do not have, our sources told us that the GL were unable to reproduce the desired results. This buys us some time. We wanted you to help us work on the real blue pill.”
“How do I know you are not telling me the opposite?”
“We tell you the ingredients. You can independently verify from published literature the mass spec of these ingredients. You can purchase the ingredients yourself and ran them through our mass spectrometer. We do everything above the table. We are coming to you because we do need your program to fine tune the proportion of the ingredients to make the blue pill.”
There was a long pause.
Dr. Rehoton continued, “You will be housed at our headquarters and with an all-accessible badge, you can freely roam around the entire compound. We kept no secrets from you. But for your safety, we asked that you remain inside the headquarters grounds.”
“Will I be able to use my own laptop and computers?”
“I don’t see why not. We will not censor your access, nor will we spy on what you are doing as Dr. Schmidtiz did.”
“What will happen after I help you finish the blue pill?”
“We will return you to the Bureau who will give you a new identity to thwart any retaliation from the GL against you.”
“If I refuse?”
“You are on the top 10 list of the most wanted for being the maker of the red pill. You have very limited choices. We like to think that helping us finish the blue pill would counteract any damage done in helping the GL finish the red pill.”
“You have left me with very few selections.”
Dr. Rehoton just sat there without responding.
JB also remained motionless reconsidering everything again. Perhaps she could still salvage the situation by being the inventor of the blue pill. After all, she could always start over with a new identity.
“OK, I will go with you.” She stood up and told him with determination having confidence in herself and her ability to start over.
“Excellent, wise choice. If you are done with dinner, let’s leave.”
