***** Vol.4 Chap.25 First class plane ride *****
The next day, she grabbed her overnight bag and her backpack, threw them at the back of her fancy Porsche, and took a spin around town. She was really getting attached to her fancy toy. Choosing a covered car park at the regional airport, she took the shuttle to the airport. Dr. Schmidtiz was already waiting for her, as usual. She wondered if she ever could be earlier than him for once.
After a brief greeting, Dr. Schmidtiz led the way to a private part of the airport. A fancy Lear jet was waiting for them already, with the engines still running as if they had just landed. No sooner than she boarded the plane and buckled in, the plane headed for the runway and took off.
Finally, JB had a chance to look around. The luxury plane was well fitted with nice leather chairs, two on each side, with a table in between. The table was made of fine mahogany wood with beautiful wood grains showing the magnificence of the detailing work. The inside of the plane was also paneled with fine teak wood.
The carpet was plush and soft, so was the chair. As she sat down, her body sank into the chair , that conformed to her profile. She leaned back in a horizontal position effortlessly. With all the hustling and bustling, she almost fell asleep.
This is outfitted better than first class.
“Cocktail before dinner, madam?” A well-dressed attendant asked.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
“Sure.”
“What would you like to drink?”
“What do you have?”
“Tequila? Margarita? Sherry? Rum? Brandy? Wine?”
“So many choices. What do you suggest?”
“How about a glass of sherry with warm nuts to start?”
“Sounds good.”
The attendant was back in no time. She laid the napkin down, then a glass of wine in front of her, and a bowl of warm nuts. “Here you go, madam. If you want a refill, just press the attention button here.” She pointed to the button next to the table.
“Okay. Thank you.”
“By the way, where are we heading?”
The attendant looked at Dr. Schmidtiz and then answered, “We are heading south.”
“How long a flight will this be?”
“I am not sure. I think I overheard the pilot said something like four hours.”
Again, the attendant glanced towards Dr. Schmidtiz’s direction who was busying himself with the paper work in front of him.
The attendant continued, “I was instructed to serve dinner once we achieved altitude.”
“Sounds good. I am famished. What is on the menu?”
“We have jumbo shrimp cocktail for appetizer, followed by a hot bowl of New England clam chowder.”
JB’s mouth was already salivating.
“For entrée, we have surf and turf.”
“Ooh. I can’t wait.”
“How would you like your steak cooked, ma’am?”
“Medium rare, please.”
“Very well.”
“I must attend to my duties now. Please relax and dinner will be served once we get to flying altitude.”
“Don’t let me keep you.”
“Just ring the bell if you need a refill or anything else.”
“Will do.”
JB adjusted her seat back a bit.
Ah, this is life. This is what I am after.
She took a sip of the sherry and popped a few nuts into her mouth. Those are toasted and salted macadamia nuts. Dr. Schmidtiz on the other side of the plane seemed very busy with a big stack of paper work. JB thought best to leave him alone.
She took another sip of the sherry. Suddenly, she felt very sleepy.
She took another sip of the sherry, adjusted the seat to be fully horizontal, and before one could count to ten, she was out cold.
Dr. Schmidtiz looked over and smiled.
So far, so good.
