***** Vol.4 Chap.26 Fourth class lodging *****

JB awoke in a straw bed inside a very small room. She rubbed her eyes and scanned the room trying to recollect herself napping on a comfy chair in a posh luxury private jet. Rubbing her eyes again, but the room did not change, nor did the interior of the luxury jet reappeared.

The bare windowless room had a small sink on one side, a tiny oval mirror hanging above the sink with a towel dangling on a nail nearby. A hole in the ground and a roll of toilet paper set on the ground nearby.

On the other side, a small wooden table with a rickety chair with her overnight bag placed on top completed the room. Her laptop was nowhere in sight. The wall was barely plastered with bare spots showing, and the plaster and paint were peeling off at most walls. On the wall, bullet holes were quite noticeable.

Did I die and now am doing penance in hell. She had no clue.

She rubbed her eyes again and was frantically trying to remember what happened. She was lying comfortably on a plush private jet on her way to the PPTSB headquarters and the flight attendant on the plane offering her a glass of sherry and a bowl of warm nuts.

After taking a sip of the wine, she sat back and fell asleep. She checked her clothes, yes, still the same clothes.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

So where am I now?

The ground seemed solid. She felt no motion indicating that she was not on a plane or some kind of transport. She must be in some underground facilities!

She got up and had to steady herself on the wall for a minute. Opening the overnight bag and rummaging around, all her clothes appeared to be there, though her laptop along with her phone disappeared.

No GPS.

She looked around the room and saw a funny looking presumably electrical outlet, a socket that she had never seen in her whole life. She scratched her head, wondering where she was on planet earth?

Frustrated, she looked for the door which was located between the sink and the table. It took less than two steps for her to walk to the door. There was no door handle, and the door was locked. It appeared that the door could be opened with a key card but she found none in the room.

She was getting very frustrated now.

Am I a prisoner or an honored guest?

She knocked on the door.

No answer.

She pounded on the door again.

Nothing.

Irritated, she retreated to the bed and sat down. There was nothing she could do but wait. If she was indeed alive, this must be a secret prison somewhere in a foreign country.

After a minute or so, being impatient, she scanned the room again. This time, being more awake, she noticed there was a security camera mounted on the ceiling at one corner of the room.

She jumped up and started to wave and shout at the camera. But the camera continued to mechanically vacillate from left to right scanning the room. Finally, the camera appeared to stop panning momentarily before resuming its monotonous motion again.

Maybe someone on the other end of the security system had finally noticed that she was awake!

With her feet up at her chin, she sat back down on the bed and waited and waited. After what seemed like an eternity, she thought she heard noises outside.

The door opened.
