Chapter 12
Ezekiel was looking at the system shopping site and decided to purchase the gummy candies that he promised the candy seller merchant but then again, he was supposed to deliver it after five days so he held off on buying those.
He then decided to purchase the faux jewelry instead. So he spent 1 copper coin to purchase a set of fake gold earrings and necklaces and another copper coin for a fake silver chain and bracelet which was supposed to be for men. Ezekiel would concoct a sob story about the fake jewelry, that they were some of the only things that their parents had left them and that even though they were fake, they still had sentimental value but he was forced to sell them since they needed food.
The costume pieces of jewelry that he purchased for 2 copper coins came with a nice-looking box that showed them off perfectly and he wished he could sell each of the sets for a silver or two. Even if he could sell them for less than 50 coppers or so, it would still be a huge profit.
After checking out the costume pieces of jewelry, Ezekiel stored them in his 4th tab and checked the remaining copper coins that he had which were 29 copper coins.
Since it was early, Ezekiel decided to cook another meal since he could store them in his inventory and the meals would still be as fresh as the day he cooked them. He decided on beef stew so he retrieved all the things that he needed and spent another two copper coins for all the ingredients and items he would need. After a couple of hours, the stew was cooked, and based on his calculations, the beef stew together with the new pot of steamed rice would serve them 4 meals for him and his brothers.
He thought of cooking another meal like a breakfast meal but he remembered that he still had limited 4th tab space. Ezekiel decided to spend a copper coin to purchase a huge bottle of multivitamins since it would probably help him and his brothers to nourish their bodies better. Ezekiel and his brother would then start taking the vitamins in the mornings after breakfast. Looking at the remaining 26 copper coins, he wished he could sell the pork and the costume jewelry the next day since he really wanted to purchase the 1st-level spell Healing Elixir.
Twilight arrived so Ezekiel called his brothers. They went inside their shack and he retrieved the lantern from his inventory and lit it using his Prestidigitation spell. The lantern was very bright and it made their house lively.
Ezekiel then emptied all of the slots in his panel and only put Prestidigitation and began cleaning the whole house using the spell. Every 2 minutes, he was able to clean 4 cubic feet of space so even though it was a bit tedious, soon he was done and it wasn’t tiring since they were just sitting on the table while he cast the spells all over the small shack.
His brothers watched him cast his spells and they were entertained by it since after casting the spell, the effects were visible. The soot and grime that had accumulated over time had disappeared and soon the whole house smelled clean and fresh.
After the cleaning session, he proceeded to clean their clothes and their bodies. Ezekiel reminded himself to purchase a few more sets of clothes in the market the next day since all three of them only had one set of clothes since their other clothes didn’t fit to be worn anymore in his opinion and the clothes in his system shopping site looked too modern.
Ezekiel then thought of trying to find costumes instead of regular clothes and he did find costumes with a medieval theme setting and he compared them to what his brothers were wearing. They looked similar although the materials were probably different. He tried purchasing one that Robert and Luke could wear since it only cost him 2 copper coins. It was a pair of tunic, breeches, drawers for undergarments, and peasant shoes. He also bought a set for himself for a copper coin.

The clothes cost significantly less when he compared them to the clothes that he could purchase from the market.
He chose the color of the forest meaning it’s a combination of browns and greens. When he retrieved the clothes, he asked Robert and Luke to wear them and they looked exactly like the clothes that the villagers wore although he could see that the colors were brighter.
Ezekiel then asked Robert and Luke to try them and he wore the ones that he bought for himself as well.
“The clothes look pretty!” Robert said and even Luke kept touching his clothes.
He could see that the boys were very happy and this was probably some of the only new things they had received since their parents were killed.
After that, Ezekiel prepared meals for each of them. He chose to serve a bowl of rice topped with breaded pork chop. He cut the pork for his brothers using a knife and everyone enjoyed their dinner.
Robert kept asking what the delicious meat was and he told him it was pork.
“Like the ones that we killed earlier! Then don’t sell them. Let’s just eat them!” Robert said.
“I don’t know how to cut such a large pork and besides the coins that I’ll receive from the butcher are enough for us to purchase different delicious food so you don’t need to worry.”
“It’s delicious!” Luke said while eating.
After their meal, they all drank their glasses of strawberry milkshake which was just milk that was flavored by Ezekiel’s spell. After the meal, he cleaned all the tableware and then kept it in his inventory.
He then cleaned the boys’ hands, faces, and teeth using Prestidigitation and after that, they played the Snakes and Ladders board game for a couple of hours.
After that, told his brother it was time to sleep and continued telling them the fairy tale story that he started until both boys were asleep.
That night, while his brothers were sleeping, Ezekiel was reviewing his character panel. The two boars netted him 20 percent experience points so his total experience point was now 30 percent till he reached level 2. He didn’t even know how much experience each boar gave since he didn’t have a log where he could look to check the amount of experience he gained from the aggressive animals he killed or the achievements he reached.
Tomorrow, he planned to sell the larger boar since he wanted to make sure that he had enough space in his 4th tab. He would also need to purchase plastic water gallons so he could retrieve water from the well and store it in his inventory to transfer to their water barrel since there was only a little water left there.
According to Robert, spring had just arrived, and he thought that that could be the reason why they were all so malnourished, due to the winter that had just passed. It also meant that they had still months before Ezekiel would worry about the weather, either rain or snow. He wanted to earn enough coins by then so he could purchase a tiny home from his system shopping site since that would make their stay in the forest comfortable. He also wanted to purchase a diesel generator so he would have electricity but that machine cost started from 70 silver coins and above.
Ezekiel actually didn’t know how his system priced the items since he tried to calculate the prices and tried to compare them with the currency that he was used to from Earth but somehow they didn’t equate.
The next day, they all woke up early and Ezekiel retrieved 3 bowls of porridge that he cooked before from his 4th tab and it was as hot and fresh as the time he cooked it. He then poured milk into their glasses and changed the flavor to chocolate milk using Prestidigitation. He also asked his brother to drink their multivitamins to restore proper nutrition to their bodies.
“Are we going to hunt animals today?” Robert asked while they were eating.
“No, since I don’t have any more room in my magic cabinet. We’ll depart for the market in an hour or two.”
Ezekiel then cleaned up his brothers using his spell after breakfast and after that, the boys took the blackboard that he purchased before and began using the colored chalk to draw things.
While he was reviewing the spells on the website that show the list of wizard spells, the environment was made lively by the boys’ laughter while they were drawing things on their blackboards.
Ezekiel also purchased around three plastic gallons that he could use to fill up with water once they passed the well on the way from the market. He would use those to fill up the water barrel since the barrel was already halfway empty.
At least, Ezekiel wasn’t afraid to drink water from that barrel since his Prestidigitation spell allowed him to make sure that the water was clean enough to drink. He checked his remaining copper coins and he currently only had 22 copper coins left.
