Arc 3 - Chapter 44: Dream Point

She woke up as the sunlight entered her tent. She was on the edge of the bed, touching the floor with her hand. She didn't feel Yu's arm around her, so he wasn't hugging her. She turned around to hug him until he woke up.

“Yu?”

But there was no one lying next to Yurine. She peeked inside the tent to see Yu, but he was not there.

Yurine pouted. Yu had probably gotten up before her and gone for the toilet or something, but it was annoying not to see him there when she woke up. Now she would go out and see one of the roarons or a regular soldier first.

However, she felt incomplete if she didn't see Yu's face first at the start of the day.

She swung her feet off the bed and stretched. It was April so it was warm, therefore she could wear the first thing in the world Yu had given her, the t-shirt.

Yu called it a t-shirt and it was too big for Yurine but she wore it anyway. The fabric was nice, the seams were perfect, when she touched the picture on it she felt a different texture than anything she had ever touched before, but most importantly it had a ‘cat girl’ on it who looked a lot like Yurine.

“I am yandere loli catgirl,” she muttered. She had memorized all three words Yu had told her.

She got out of bed and went to the small table in the center of the tent. The table was really small so that Yurine could reach every part of it.

She took the jug on the table and filled a glass with water and drank it.

She could go out right now and look for Yu, but if he went out there was a good chance he would see someone else besides Yu. Since he still wanted to see Yu's face first thing in the morning, he decided to linger inside the tent.

“Yu, why don't you come right away?” she thought. She had completed her thirtieth lap around the table and Yu was still nowhere to be seen.

She started rummaging through the things inside the tent. There was a book of philosophy that Yu had brought here. Yu had written it, and he told her that he had done this so that he would not forget the knowledge he had learned in his world.

“It cannot be written for any other reason than that because everything we have already done in this world will be erased.”

What they did in this world didn't matter, so he allowed Yu to do bad things, but when they rewound time, she wouldn't allow Yu to do bad things.

She would work to make him a man, to make Yu a suitable husband for Rie. Yu was suitable as he was, but it wouldn't hurt to try to make him more suitable.

“First he should cut off all girls and stop being a pervert... He's cruel and ruthless, and those traits need to be honed. I mean, he should be cruel and ruthless to anyone who would harm our family, but that's just how it is... If he stops being a gambler, a dog, a scoundrel, he'll be a great husband!”

Yurine quickened her steps and spread her arms wide and started laughing. She imagined herself soaring like a bird.

“Yes, yes! Yu will make a wonderful husband for my mother!”

When she realized she was screaming, she immediately covered her mouth. She was obviously worried that people would hear her, but it wasn't because she was ashamed. If anyone heard her, they would think that Yurine wanted Yu to marry a dead woman.

“Stupid Yu! He made me shout!” She was worried about being overheard, but it still cheered her up to imagine what she had just said. “Rie Valarfin, yes, she will be a Valarfin like me. The three of us will live happily ever after.”

Months ago she was furious when the idea had occurred to her, but now she willingly dreamed of the days when the two of them were together. She mean, the days when the three of them were together.

“But where the hell is Yu, oh!”

When Yu still didn't show up, she had to go out to find him, and as soon as she left the tent, the thing she feared happened. She started the day by seeing Dimen's face.

“Good morning,” Dimen smiled. The roarons failed to smile because their mouths resembled a lion's, but she could tell they were still smiling.

“Good morning.”

It wasn't that Yurine didn't like him or didn't want to see him. She just wanted Yu to be the first person she saw.

“Are you looking for the commander?” Dimen asked. Yu was the commander of the Cathedral of Virgo’s army.

Yurine nodded at him and looked around. She couldn't see him here either.

“With Sivina,” Dimen said.

“W-wha! Why is he with her?”

“They're practicing.”

Dimen was pointing with his hand a little further down the hill. Yurine was already aware that the two of them were practicing swordplay, but it was inconvenient to do it in her absence. Sivina had been close to Yu lately and she might try to seduce him while Yurine was away.

Yurine started down and Dimen followed her. There were very few tents on the top of the hill, as the soldiers were now staying in underground pits, so she could easily see the surroundings, but Yu and Sivina were nowhere to be seen.

“They are this way, aren't they? Could they have gone to another part of the hill?” Yurine asked.

“They haven't left. If they had, Valarfin would have come to say.”

Dimen was right. Yu wouldn't go anywhere without telling someone that he was okay and where Yurine could find him later.

“Maybe they're behind that rock over there.”

“Aren't they practicing? What are they going to do behind that tiny rock?”

“I don't know.” Dimen threw up his hands and shrugged.

Yurine sighed and started walking towards the rock, quickening her pace. She didn't think there would be anyone behind that small rock, but she walked on, hoping to see Yu.

When she got a little closer to the rock, she realized that someone was holding out his foot. It was not hard to recognize the white pants and black shoes, they belonged to Yu.

“Yu?”

Why was Yu lying on the floor? Or had something happened to him?

Yurine used the mana in her body to accelerate and in the blink of an eye she was behind the rock.

But when she came here, she wished she had never come because the sight left her breathless and speechless.

“Oh, I knew they were...” Dimen muttered. When Yurine looked at him with burning red eyes, he zipped up his mouth and backed away.

“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!”

Stolen novel; please report.

Yurine's mana-enhanced voice was strong enough to echo all over the hill, but her voice was a little shrill for speaking so loudly.

Sivina jumped up as Yurine shouted and her movement woke Yu up too.

“What's going on?” Yu said, turning his head away.

“YOU PERVERT! YOU PERVERT! PERVERT! PERVERT! PERVERT! PERVERT! GET UP, PERVERT!”

Yu stood up before he realized what was happening. Sivina continued to sit in front of the rock, her knees pulled up to her face, trying to hide her flushed face.

Yurine pointed with her finger at the bottom of her foot, Yu came in front of Yurine with glazed eyes and holding her head.

“KNEEL DOWN, PERVERT!”

“What happened? Why you shouted-”

She didn't wait for Yu to kneel. The moment he bent a little, she slapped him on the cheek and Yu fell to the ground.

“YOU PERVERT! WHY DID YOU PUT YOUR HEAD IN HER BANG-BANG PLACE!”

Yurine knew this disgusting information about lower life forms, even though she would have preferred not to have known it. In her memories, Emily was reading a book, and in the book it said something about bang-bang.

Yu was asleep on Sivina's lap, and he had put his face in her band-bang place.

“Bang-bang?” Yu straightened up on his knees while holding his cheek, which had a red five-finger print. “Huh...”

His eyes and mouth opened wide and he finally lit up like a revelation. Finally, he understood what Yurine was talking about.

She turned her head and looked at Sivina, who buried her face in her knees. Sivina was ashamed to lift her head and she should have been. Of course Yurine was not going to forgive her for being ashamed. Her turn would come.

A mischievous smile appeared on Yu's face as people slowly began to gather on the hill.

“Bang-bang, huh? Honestly, I don't know what you're talking about.”

“DON'T TRY TO PLAY DUMB! YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE DOING! YOU PERVERT! PERVERT! YOU'RE A PERVERT! PERVERT! PERVERT! PERVERT! PERVERT! PERVERT! PERVERT!”

Yurine tapped her right foot on the ground and lifted the soil. A cloud of dust rose from the ground and she kept shouting at Yu.

She was so angry that she was about to cry, but she held back her tears because it would upset Yu. Yes, even in a situation like this, she was thinking about Yu.

“YOU PERVERT! WHY DID YOU DO SUCH A THING?”

Yu rubbed his cheek a little and then stood up completely. The mark of Yurine's hand was still there and his left eye was teary. If Yurine didn't cast a healing spell, it would bruise and swell.

“I was sleeping on my back, but I must have turned my head while sleeping, I don't know. You know I get close to corners while sleeping.”

Yu would move closer to Yurine when he was sleeping empty side of the bed, and closer to the wall if she was not and he was lying in the corner of a wall. It was a regular habit he had when he slept, and for Yurine, who knew this, it was an understandable explanation. Since Yu wouldn't lie to her, he could have done it without realizing it.

But there was still a problem.

“But you, Yu... Why were you lying on her lap?” she asked calmly when she had gathered enough people around them.

She wasn't actually really calm, she was just saving her anger to show Sivina.

“She invited me.”

That was all she needed to hear. If that slap was punishment enough for Yu, it would be Sivina's turn. Turning to face her, Sivina buried her head deeper into her knees, but she wasn't going to escape this way.

“LOOK AT ME!”

When Yurine shouted at Sivina, the girl spread her knees, revealing part of her reddened face.

“GET OFF YOUR KNEES!”

When Yurine shouted again, Sivina lowered her knees to the ground, but she couldn't look at her face. Instead of looking at Yurine, her sea-green eyes were fixed on the floor.

“LOOK AT MY FACE!” Sivina tried to raise her eyes, but when she failed, Yurine shouted again. “I SAID LOOK AT MY FACE!”

Sivina bit her lip and looked up. Yurine saw that she was about to cry too, this could be her punishment.

“YOU PERVERT WOMAN! WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO ACHIEVE BY TRYING TO SEDUCE YU, HUH? LISTEN TO ME, YOU PERVERT WOMAN! TRY AS HARD AS YOU WANT, I WON'T GIVE YU TO YOU OR ANYONE ELSE, OKAY? DO YOU UNDERSTAND?”

When Yurine pointed her finger and shouted at her, she involuntarily created a small storm around her.

The part about not giving Yu away was a lie, but there was no need to get hung up on such a small lie right now.

“Yurine, you misunderstand. It was just to rest. Bang…” Yu's cheeks puffed up as he said this, trying to hold back a laugh. “We had no intention of having a bang-bang.”

“Don't you dare deceive me Yu. Even if you don't have intentions, this pervert woman does!”

“Don't be hard on her, I'm just as guilty as she is.” He moved forward and held out his hand to Sivina in front of Yurine's eyes.

Yurine didn't expect to see such audacity in front of her eyes, watching them with her mouth agape, Sivina at first hesitated to take the outstretched hand, but when Yu's hand continued to hover in the air, she took it.

“Go back to your own business, if you talk about what you heard and saw here you will be beheaded,” Yu said. He had brought Sivina to her feet. At Yu's words, the soldiers who had gathered in their area began to disperse.

“It's so wrong to embarrass her in public like this, Yurine.” Yu bent down and put his hand on Yurine's head. “Besides, you put more burden on her than you put on me.”

Had she been too hard on Sivina? If they asked her, she would say it wasn’t enough. She should have hit her like she hit Yu.

“It's clear that half the blame, maybe more, is mine. Now you may think you didn't punish her enough for hitting me, but believe me, it's a terrible thing to be embarrassed in public. It ruins her reputation as a knight.”

Yurine puffed out her cheeks. Yu was indeed a pervert, so it wouldn't have bothered him if people called him a pervert in public, but for Sivina things might have been different, as he had said.

Still, after seeing her with Yu, she couldn't help getting angry and yelling. How dare she give Yu a lap pillow? Even her mother hadn't given him that.

“You must apologize to Sivina.”

“No.”

Although it was nice to feel his hand on her head, she pushed Yu away and turned her face away, crossing her arms over her chest. She wasn't looking at Yu.

“Apologize, Yurine. Please apologize.”

“No. She tried to seduce you, even if she was embarrassed. No.”

“Don't worry, contrary to what you think, it's not easy for someone to seduce me. Otherwise I would have done something with girls by now.”

“Don't cross the line!”

Come to think of it, Yu might have been telling the truth. Girls liking him inflated his ego, but all he had ever done was give them a few compliments. Other than that, he didn't approach girls, but he didn't push them away when they approached him either.

“Come on...”

Yu grabbed Yurine by the chin, turned her around and pointed at Sivina, she was still red. Sivina had her arms folded under her chest and was staring at the ground, digging in the soil with her heel.

“Hmph!” Yurine pushed Yu's hand away again and took a few steps towards Sivina.

She could see that Sivina was also a beautiful girl and taller than her mother. Yurine was more angry because she was taller than her mother.

Still, Yu had asked her to apologize, and Yurine was not going to offend Yu, even though Sivina was the one who should apologize.

“Open your ears wide and listen, pervert woman...”

“Yurine...”

She wanted to continue embarrassing her even if she was going to apologize, but Yu called her name and Yurine had to start over.

“Open your ears wide and listen, Sivina. This is the first and last time you will hear this superior life form apologize to you...”

Yurine held her breath. At first she was going to close her eyes, but then she remembered what her mother had told her. Her mother had told her to be sincere when she apologized to someone and to look them in the eye when she did it.

She thought it would be enough for Sivina to hear the apology. But because what her mother had told her, she looked Sivina in the eye and pronounced each letter clearly.

“I'm sorry I embarrassed you.”

As soon as she apologized, she turned her back on Sivina. It was too much for her.

“I apologize, Yurine. I went too far.”

“It's good that you realize your mistake. But from now on, when I'm not around, you don't train, you don't even talk. Okay?”

“O-okay...”

From now on, she would always have to be by Yu's side. Cornelia was also getting close to Yu and Yurine realized it. If she let go of Yu's leash, he could have a bang-bang with the girls, and it was horrible.

She couldn't let Yu do such a terrible thing, not even with Rie.

Clara and Neltia from the Virgo Cathedral, all the servants of the Full Moon Manor, Luna who had stayed with them since Leoral's death even though she was normally a Vermilia maid and so on… Yurine was already trying to protect Yu from them, but they were people who kept a low profile and had little interaction during the day.

Now big players like Sivina and Cornelia were involved in the game and they were constantly interacting with them. Yurine had to keep her eyes open, otherwise Yu was human and could be seduced by the girls at some point.

“What's going on here?”

It was another woman, Cornelia, who was hitting on Yu, who asked the question. She had come to where they were with Link, Ana and the man who couldn't stand Yu.

“I heard you yelling at Sivina.”

“Tch, who did you hear that from? Would you recognize his face?”

Yu intervened and walked towards Cornelia. Cornelia shook her head as Yurine stepped in front of Yu to prevent him from going any further.

“Yes, but... Why?”

“Because I have no tolerance for betrayal and anyone who does not follow my orders is a traitor.”

Was Yu really planning to have him beheaded?

“Anyway, he deserves it if he disobeyed Yu, but doing it for Sivina...”

It bothered Yurine that he was going to have someone beheaded for Sivina.

Yurine also had some affection for Sivina, but because Sivina crossed her red line, she would be cold towards her for a while and would not do anything for her.

“I want you to show it to me,” Yu said. The whole group had formed a circle. “And I want to know what you were talking about.”

“They will attack us in the evening, that's the result of what we talked about.”

“I see. Then the soldiers should take turns resting during the day. We'll check our defenses.”

Yu's management of the defense was very, very cool.

And it was even cooler that everyone listened to him.
