Arc 1 - Chapter 3: The Stranger, The Witch and The Cat

Arc 1 - Chapter 3: The Stranger, The Witch and The Cat

The light of the moon, surrounded by stars, greeted Yu Valarfin from the sky. Yu feeling drowsy from having just woken up.

When he opened his eyes slightly, he thought he was still at home and his short journey seemed like a dream. It made sense, if it hadn't been a dream he would be dead. Since he was alive, he had dreamed.

But strangely he remembered the pain he felt before he died. It was different from the pain he felt when he woke up from a bad dream, the pain was real and he knew it.

“What is that? Is it a girl? She is beautiful.”

He thought he was still in the dream when he noticed a white figure in front of his eyes. He had difficulty opening his eyes fully, so he couldn't see her completely.

“But the smell...”

The smell could make his nose start a war of independence against Yu to leave his face. He rubbed his eyes to find the source of the smell, and when he regained his vision, he saw the white-haired woman who had opened his collar and was staring at his chest.

With a sudden movement, he fell back on his haunches. Apparently he was either still dreaming, or it was real and he was still alive.

He looked around, he was in a huge cave connected by many tunnels.

“I'm sorry, I just killed you.” The white-haired woman in front of him spoke calmly, Yu was confused as he focused on the message instead of commenting on the beauty of her voice.

“You just killed me?” What did she mean? The situation he was in didn't seem realistic at all. He put his hands to his head to think and tried to remember what had happened.

He remembered walking down the road, and as he walked, the ground collapsed and he fell down. Then he saw a four-armed monster, then a girl with little cat ears and the murderer who had killed him.

“Monster!” Yu looked to his left and saw the three-meter monster lying on the ground. It had four thick arms, a mutilated face and orange scales covering its body. Most of the orange scales were scattered around and smoke was still billowing from the creature. When he removed the features that made it a monster, he could tell it was a gorilla.

“Ha!”

Yu put his hand to his neck and checked that the rings were there. It was good that he hadn't lost them, he wouldn't forgive himself if he lost these rings from his older sisters.

“I just need to have these with me.”

When he saw that the rings were still there, his hardened cheeks relaxed and a slight smile appeared on his lips as the result of being alive.

“So, where is my bag?”

Holding the mementos of her sisters in his hand, he scanned his surroundings, looking for his bag. It was standing some distance away from him. The bag was cut, torn and a little burnt, but still usable. On his knees, he moved towards the bag and unzipped it, checking the medicine inside.

“Nothing happened, this will give me a week of peace.”

Looking up at the sky, he thought he should have died as soon as he fell. It was a miracle to fall from that height and survive. Moreover, the items in his bag were not damaged.

“A miracle?”

“How did I survive?”

“Why am I calm?”

As the questions began to flood his mind, reality became clearer for him. He saw that the white girl in front of him still had her attention.

“I, I don't understand,” he looked into the red eyes of the girl for an explanation.

His last moments were a blur. The monster, the little girl, the big version of the little girl, a magical attack. The reality that had been clear before he listed them all became blurry as he listed them.

“I almost forgot.”

He searched for the only starter item in this world that he could sell to put money in his pocket. His phone was in his pocket and miraculously intact. His worries about food and shelter eased a little.

The woman in front of him apologized again after looking curiously at the item Yu pulled out of his pocket.

“I apologize. It was a mistake, but I just killed you.”

“I'm too calm for a dead person. Ah, I see, it must be my perfect self-adapting quickly to the situation. I guess where I am doesn't stop me from always being number ten.”

He couldn't look helpless with a beautiful woman in front of him, he pulled himself together and smiled as if survival was his own achievement.

When he had first seen her, he had been struck by her redness, but apart from her eyes, all the parts of her body that were red were red with blood. Her white robes and part of her face were also covered in blood.

Her big red eyes, so foreign to Yu's world, made his heart flutter as they met his. As a man, it was impossible not to like such an enchanting woman. Her tied back hair was pure white with no hue, if he ignored the blood-soaked parts.

In Yu's opinion, she was an S+ rated waifu, just beautiful enough to be the main female character of a story. She had a foul odor on her, but considering the blood and sweat on her and the beast lying dead on the ground, it was understandable that she had been in a battle and the smell could be an excuse. Nevertheless, Yu wrinkled his nose involuntarily because of the bad smell.

“But she is beautiful...”

He couldn't stop his heart from fluttering, if not counting the battle scars that gave her a bad impression. Even though he was incredibly handsome, for some reason he had not many experience with girls before and now found himself at a loss as to what to do in front of this woman he didn't know.

“Handsome guy, look at you!”

He could ignore the bruises and blood on her, but not on himself.

Yu Valarfin, like her, was covered in blood, his clothes were torn and his face was scarred, but the worst thing was that he thought his choice of clothes was bad.

“Why? Why didn't I put on something more decent? Stupid! Even a jacket would have made me look better. Why? What does she think of me? Does she think I look awful? Oh, no, of course not. There's no way she is ever seen a man like me.”

Yu Valarfin wanted to believe that he didn't care about people, but deep down inside he cared enough about other people's opinions to have minor nervous breakdowns like the one he was having now.

“But I'm making a terrible impression! This person could be the main female character in a great isekai adventure, and look how our lifelong acquaintance turned out! Damn it.”

Seeing Yu's hands shaking, the woman didn't know that it was because of Yu's broken psychology. She held his hands and tried to calm him down.

“I'm sorry, I apologize for the third time, but no matter how many times I apologize to you today, it will not be enough. You don't need to be afraid, you are alive now, you are breathing and not gonna die for a while.”

It had been months since his hands had been held by soft and gentle hands, the woman in front of him was affecting Yu in every way.

“And... It's embarrassing for me too, but I hope you can understand the reason for the bad smell.” When the woman saw Yu wrinkling his nose at the smell, she felt compelled to broach the subject.

The white-haired woman bowed her head in embarrassment, her averting eyes from Yu was proof that she was truly embarrassed. Yu felt guilty for embarrassing her like that, her embarrassment was sweet, but it was obvious that he felt bad.

“And I believe I should tell you that the reason you feel calm is not because you are a great person, but because of my ability.”

Yu stared at her for a moment, not understanding what she was saying.

Was she talking about controlling his emotions? He had never been a dead person before, so he didn't know how dead people reacted when they met their own killers.

“Their reaction would probably not be the same as mine. And since I saw that she was practicing magic, that explanation - by the standards of this world - makes some sense.”

If she kept him calm, he would interpret that as a good thing and move on.

“My name is Yu Valarfin.”

He decided it was time for introductions. Curious about the other person's name, he started listing all the beautiful anime girl names he knew in his head. Which one would it be?

“My name is Rie.”

“By the looks of her, I'd like to call her Valarfin.” He wouldn't mind naming her after himself, but the smell made him grimace again. He was not used to such smells and could not stand them.

Then he came up with an idea to lessen the impact. He opened his bag, took out his deodorant and pointed it at Rie.

“What's that?” Rie was curiously examining Yu's item from the future. Yu started spraying it on Rie without saying anything. Even if the deodorant was for men, Rie shouldn't have the right to complain in the current situation.

“What? What? What is this? It's cold! What are you doing?” Rie danced to avoid the deodorant. Rie's reaction made Yu's lips curl up in glee.

“It's to suppress the smell of sweat, but it also suppresses other odors.” He sprayed it on himself to show Rie that deodorant wasn't harmful. “If your magical powers don't work to eliminate the smell, be quiet and let me spray this on you. Don't worry, it's not poisonous. I guess, I hope.”

“I guess and I hope are definitely words that diminish your credibility.” Rie bowed her head and accepted Yu's deodorant. As she spun around, Yu poured half of the remaining deodorant in the bottle on her.

“It has a strong odor.” Rie was glad the bad smell was gone, but she didn't seem to like it either. “It's also masculine,”

As it is a men's deodorant, it would normally leave a masculine smell on the person sprayed.

“Normally you spray a little and leave it on, but I used a lot to get rid of the smell. Anyway, it's better than before.”

With the odor problem overcome, Rie looked much better. If she could get the blood and sweat off her clothes, she would look even better.

“By the way, I saw a little girl here.”

The little girl she saw was a tiny version of Rie. Her white hair was tied back like Rie's and she had big red eyes just like Rie. What distinguished her from Rie was that her ears were not on the side of her head, but on the top of her head, shaped like cat ears, and she had a tail.

“Maybe it's her sister.”

“Neko? She's healing a comrade of ours up ahead.”

"Isn't Neko a bit of a lazy name?” he said and though. “And also why you choose Japanese names in a western-looking country?"

From what Yu had seen of anime, the word meant cat in Japanese, and Neko seemed to have been given that name just because she was half cat. “And where did you learn the Japanese words?”

“I may have put the first one I thought of, but I don't understand your lazy comment.”

“What do you mean with first thought of? Names are-” He looked at Rie with questioning eyes.

“It's not your place to comment on the name my mother chose for me, you stupid creature.”

He turned around and saw the cat-eared girl pointing her finger and snarling. She looked the way he remembered her, with cat ears and red eyes. Her tail was wagging behind her.

“Mother?” He'd just been insulted in a way he wasn't used to, but Yu hung on one word instead of the insult.

“Of course, Rie is as beautiful as one would expect from the main female character of a fantasy story. And with her white hair, she is an S+ rated waifu. She has a lovely voice and probably smells good on a normal day. Such a woman would have many suitors, and it wouldn't be surprising if one of them was successful.”

Yu looked at Rie's fingers in disappointment. There were several rings on her fingers and one of them could have been a wedding ring.

“Neko, at least try to be nice to people you've just met, how many times do I have to tell you?”

“But mother, he didn't even thank thee for wasting the Blessing on him. I told thee it was a bad idea to revive him, he's the rude one! You! Stupid creature, what are you laughing at?”

The daughter's serious tone towards her mother amused and made Yu chuckle sarcastically. Noticing the giggles, Neko angrily turned her eyes to Yu.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

“Why do you call your mommy like that? It looks so weird and funny.”

“You! I speak that way because my mother is the only being who deserves respect! It is not your place to question superior beings!”

Her cheeks puffed up in anger as she raised her voice and yelled at Yu, sweetening the girl and making Yu laugh even more. Yu's laughter made the girl a little more angry.

“And you have a bad smell, let's spray it on you too.”

When he realized that Neko smelled too, he started spraying the deodorant on her without saying anything. The girl ran after her mother, screaming like a cat.

“It's okay, Mr. Valarfin used it on me too. It covers the smell of sewage.”

“Sewage? What kind of people are you...” Neko's clothes looked clean, so he couldn't understand why she smelled. Yu must have fallen into a sewage system. “What are you doing in a sewer?”

She hesitantly allowed Yu to spray deodorant on her after getting confirmation from her mother that it was okay.

“You seem like decent people, what are you doing in a sewer?”

“None of your business.” Neko's answer hit Yu's face like a hard rock.

“I think it is my business because I'm involved in some way by your deadly mistake. But if you don't want to answer that, there are a few more questions I'd like to ask. First, what is this thing called the Blessing and what does it have to do with me coming back to life?”

The Blessing sounded cool, how great it would be if he could get a special power!

“A really stupid creature, what an ignorance.”

Yu's right eye twitched. The cat-eared girl was becoming too much, no one had spoken to him with that much disrespectfully in ten years.

Yu Valarfin had excellent grades in high school. He was confident in his general knowledge. Even if he was useless in this world, he could play the instruments perfectly and he had an athletic body with his wonderfully handsome face. He was a genius, and it made him angry to be called stupid.

“Do you know what witches are?” Rie interrupted before Yu could retort to Neko and start a fight.

Rie's face turned serious and her voice sounded agitated. Yu knew what witches were, but the witches Yu knew were just pretty girls from anime. He didn't know anything about witches in this world.

“As far as I know they are sweet beings, I don't know what witches are like in the stories here.”

"S-sweet? We don't often get comments like that...”

Yu had guessed that Rie was a witch when she mentioned witches, but he hadn't given his answer to impress her, witches were indeed sweet in the shows he watched.

Rie blushed at Yu's answer, and ignoring the blood on her, she became very sweet. Yu felt proud, sensing that Rie was starting to think well of him. Neko was stunned by her mother's reaction.

“Dude, stop. She is a married woman. What I am doing?”

He felt sorry for all the things he had thought.

“Blessings are special powers created by Azer the Storm God. When a female has the Blessing, it turns her into a witch. I am a witch with two Blessings.”

After she finished, she looked at Yu's face to gauge his reaction. She was curious to see how he would react.

There was no such thing as a ‘real’ witch in history, and those who were accused of being witches were usually ordinary people who were burned by the Inquisition. As far as Rie could tell from their reactions, witches were not liked here either.

“Even though she killed me, she doesn't seem like a bad person.”

“The Virgo Blessing gives its users a chance at a new life when they die. It can also be used to revive another deceased person at the user's request. Using Virgo Blessing is a bit… Complicated and Neko was angry that I used on you.”

“I wouldn't use it on a stranger I don't know.” Yu was pleased that Rie was spending right on Yu instead of keeping it for herself. “I mean, I'm already happy to be alive, but this makes it a little more meaningful.”

Rie flushed and continued, explaining Yu's revival and Neko's words in this way.

“The other Blessing I have is the Orion Blessing. The Orion Blessing allows me to see invisible things. I can't do things like see through walls, but I can see ghosts and the spirit in people's bodies. That's partly why I revived you. Maybe if someone else, someone with a darker soul, had been in your place, I wouldn't have resurrected him. But I wouldn't have had the heart to kill an innocent like you and leave you. Your soul is more than pure, you look like a newborn baby. You must be a very good person Yu Valarfin. Be proud of it!”

“Am I a very good person?” Yu smiled as if she was joking. What he heard surprised him more than anything he had ever seen, so much so that his mouth hung open to show all his teeth.

“Mother, I'm sorry to say that thee may be wrong. This creature does not look like a good person.”

Neko was absolutely right. Yu was arrogant, jealous and selfish. He couldn't possibly be a sinless spirit. It was impossible for his soul to remain pure when even Yu was constantly blaming himself.

“Neko, shame on you!”

As Rie again told her daughter to behave, Yu tried to understand why his soul was described in such a pure way.

The first possible reason was that he had gotten a new soul from coming to a new world. “I can't be me if my soul is changing!” He panicked at the thought, then came up with a new idea that would make his first theory more plausible. “I didn't have a soul when I was in my world, and when I crossed over here, I got a soul according to the rules of this world, and since I haven't had enough time to pollute my soul, which is only an hour old, it seems to be as clean as Rie said.”

So Rie, who portrayed Yu thinking that he was a very good person, did it in vain, as Neko said.

“I will keep this to myself and not talk about it.”

He couldn't prove that his theory was true, but he was going to accept it as true and not tell Rie that she had made a mistake.

“So the second question is, why were you harassing me?”

“I wasn't harassing you!”

Yu put his hands to his own chest while Rie turned her head away, avoiding eye contact.

“You impudent life form! How dare you talk to my mother like that?”

“If I had looked at your mother's breast while she was unconscious, I would have been a perverted stalker and killed by her husband. I think when she did the same to me, it could be clearly called harassment.”

Yu's logic was simple and clear, this is what equality between men and women looks like.

“First of all, I am not married and I have never had a husband. Since I created Neko, I take on the role of mother.”

“Oh... So...” A mischievous smile appeared on Yu's lips. The way was clear.

“And since she gave a detailed explanation, she obviously likes me. Haha! Even if we just met and I show up in a mess, I'm me. I'm successful, I'm sporty, I'm handsome, I'm charismatic, I'm talented, I have all the qualities a woman needs to be attracted to me. I'm perfect.” Yu's mind rapidly started fantasizing Rie. “Oh god! Good god! Lovely god! Thank you a lot! She is a witch and people of this world seems hates the witches. Probably she never thought she was cute or something because they hated her for being a witch! Is not it? The perfect beautiful anime girl? She will onto me because I gave her my attention and probably my attention is the first attention she ever got! God, sometimes I love you more than you thought. I promise I will be a good person for you God! Just give me my perfectly absolutely wonderfully incredibly perfect waifu!”

Neko’s voise awakened him from his daydreams. “If you think you can come between me and my mother, you're so wrong.”

Sensing Yu's intentions, the cat girl straightened her tail and looked like a predator ready to kill. If things turned out like Yu's fantasy in his short time, he would have to deal with this girl.

“Let's get back to the subject. I apologize for what I did, I wasn't trying to harass you, I was looking at your body because I noticed a deficiency, you could think of it as a kind of examination.”

“Deficiency!?” Yu was about to have a small crisis inside himself again. “What's wrong with me? I have a beautiful face, my legs are long and my stomach is flat. Is it because I have no muscles?” To be seen as lacking and criticized, if he was subjected to this any longer, he would start biting his nails.

“You don't have a core, that's what I'm talking about,” Rie said. She calmed Yu down. “The core is an organ that generates mana and regenerates itself, even if it's on the verge of being destroyed, it will heal, but if it somehow gets destroyed, it will kill you because it's right in the center of your chest. I never thought I would see someone without a core.”

When Rie realized that Yu didn't know what a core was, she gave him an explanation about the organ.

He was both relieved and offended to learn that the deficiency was from this world and not from him. Being missing in the new world was stressing Yu out.

“There is no magic without mana, is there?”

The core had to be something like a soul. On Earth, people didn't have organs called cores, and since Yu had come here through a portal and not reincarnated, he didn't have a core in his body, but unlike a core, a soul was not a physical concept, so he was able to obtain a soul.

Yu's question surprised Rie and Neko. In this world, even ordinary people knew that mana was the fuel for magic. While Neko muttered to herself about Yu's ignorance, Rie decided to be understanding.

“Yes. The core produces mana and the magic user casts spells using the mana produced as fuel.”

“Got it, thanks.”

He had seen in the games that there was no magic without mana, he just wanted to make sure that in this world mana was had the same system as in the games.

“If I could cast spells on top of my high intelligence and impressive charisma, I would be a being capable of upsetting the balance of power. In order to maintain the balance of power, the world has prevented me from casting spells.”

He could not cast spells, nor did he have fighting skills. To survive in a fantasy world of monsters and magic, he had to either be cautious, think at least ten times whenever he had to act, and calculate all the possible consequences of his actions.

Or he could make some friends and be protected by them. His ego didn't like the idea, but he knew he needed protection to survive.

“But I've never been good at making friends.”

Apart from his sisters, there were few people he was close to but he didn't see them often.

“What happens now?”

The three of them fell silent and waited for someone to speak.

“What am I going to do, say 'nice to meet you, so goodbye' and go on my way?” He didn't know where to go or what to do. “Now that I think about it, I was like a parasite living with my older sisters.”

Everything he needed to live was provided for him by his sisters. Food, home and love were all provided by them.

They even gave Yu his pocket money, apart from the scholarship he received. In return, Yu wanted to show his older sisters that they were not wasting their time and to prove how great his little brother are, so he always returned to them with high grades and made sure to improve himself in different fields.

“I wanted them to be proud of me, I wanted more attention.”

When he stayed at the orphanage with his older sisters, the orphanage provided for his needs. Except for the part-time job he had found in the last few months, he had never had to work and stand on his own.

But at the time, his pride was not hurt by the fact that he was in the hands of others because they were not strangers. The orphanage was a state institution and his sisters were his family. He didn't mind being fed by them.

It was different to look after these people he had just met, he didn't know them. Rie was a beautiful girl and Yu wanted to spend more time with her and get to know her, but she was still a stranger.

“And how am I going to get out of here? I can't fly up, if I try to find my way through one of those tunnels I'll die at the first threat. I need them to stand beside me and protect me.”

The realization of his weakness felt like an atomic bomb had been dropped on his ego. Even though he wanted to get to know these people he didn't know, being dependent on them was getting on his nerves.

“Only because I have to... I'll make an exception just this once for this beautiful girl.” He closed his eyes and made up his mind. “Now how do I get to the 'let me come with you' part?”

He didn't want to voice his request directly. “Well, what if I say something fait accompli, like asking 'what do we do now?’ But then I might be met with 'when did we become we?”

As the silence continued, Yu's mind was also filled with different thoughts.

“Since she revived me, shouldn't she care about me a little bit? After all, she gave me something important to her. At the very least, she won’t want me to die in two minutes and make sure I didn't waste the life he gave me.” Once he had convinced himself that Rie would care about him, it was time to ask her for help.

“Well, I don't really have anywhere to go. Can I hang out with you?” Yu Valarfin was embarrassed to ask for help, so much so that he unconsciously lowered his head and bit his lip.

“Not at all, go your own way, shoo away.”

“Neko! Mr. Valarfin is already embarrassed, your rudeness has gone too far.” Rie grabbed Neko's ear and pulled gently. Because Neko punished by her mother, she gave Yu a hateful look.

“It's not like I'm ashamed, it's just that I'm not used to it...” now he started to play with his fingers. “It's my first day here and I don't know anything about the city, even if it's just for today you can help me.”

He should have buried his face in the pillow and screamed because he felt ashamed. If he had known this day would come, he would have practiced asking people for help.

“Now that I've caused you trouble, I have to help you.”

“Mother...”

“Shh, Neko. We're the ones who dropped Mr. Valarfin here, it's our duty to help him.”

Yu breathed a sigh of relief. For the first time in his life he had asked for help from someone he didn't know and he had gotten it.

“Thank you.” It wasn't easy for Yu to say thank you, but when he felt relieved, he blurted it out.

“Then let's introduce you to our other comrade.” Rie gestured to one of the tunnels.

“That stupid human is still sleeping.”

In Neko's eyes, Yu was the ‘stupid creature’ and the injured person was the ‘stupid human.’ He might have ignored her if she was only insulting him. But now she was saying he was inferior to someone else. His patience tested, Yu tried to calm himself by biting his cheek.

As they entered a tunnel, they came across the sleeping boy.

“His name is Sharley, my apprentice, he was wounded by that orange monster over there.”

The young man with black hair was lying unconscious. He looked younger than Yu, maybe sixteen or seventeen. Even though he was younger, he was taller and the height difference made Yu jealous.

“But everything else about me is better than this bastard.” Except for the height difference, Yu was more handsome.

“But... Why is the apprentice of the probable main female character of my story a man?” After a simple brainstorming, it was clear that there were two possible reasons why he stood by Rie, who was beautiful but ostracized by society for being a witch.

First, he genuinely respected her and saw her as an older sister/teacher and wanted to benefit from her knowledge.

Second and more likely, Sharley loved her. After a bit of think the second reason seemed much more likely to Yu. “This asshole bastard might have even thought like ‘Rie is not loved because she's a witch, so if I love her, I'm sure she'll love me too’. What a disgusting degenerated son of a bitch.”

He hadn't even met Sharley and he already hate him.

“This boy is nothing compared to me, nothing compared to me in the game of love - why do I think that!”

He had told himself as soon as he came here that he would not see the world as a game, but now he was seeing everything as a game.

“Snap out of it Yu Valarfin, please.”

“I understand that you used the sewers, and you must be on a secret mission to have chosen such a dirty way. So shouldn't we move instead of stalling? You must not want to waste time here and get caught.”

“I'd rather say we have somewhere we need to get to and we need to sneak into it, rather than saying we don't want to get caught. The former makes us look guilty.”

At Rie's answer, Yu looked up and pointed to the hole in the ceiling of the cave, then pointed to himself. Rie had committed one crime by destroying the city road and a second crime by killing Yu.

“Makes you look what?”

“Should we forget such unpleasant events?”

If they were forgettable Yu would prefer to forget them, but how could he forget his murderer?

“Unfortunately this stupid creature is right, we should leave now. Otherwise people will come here soon and the existence of these tunnels will be revealed.”

“You are right. Neko, can you take the map? I'll carry Sharley.”

“Why should thou carry him? Let this stupid creature drag him after us, I'm not comfortable with my mother touching that thing.”

Neko's reaction was so insulting that Yu felt glad that he was not the one who had been subjected to it. Being called that thing was worse than being called stupid creature.

“He looks thin, I can carry it.”

“I'd be glad if you could.”

“No problem.”

He didn't want to carry Sharley because he suddenly saw him as his romantic rival, but he also didn't want Rie to carry her.

“Thank you, Mr. Valarfin. Then we will continue to follow the map. We can destroy the entrance to the tunnel to prevent anyone from following us. Of course, if we need to escape, since we've blocked one of the two escape routes on the map, we'll have to improvise if the other route is wrong.”

Improvisation was not Yu's thing. He had learned at an early age to stick to a set program and always planned things in advance. To learn that they were going to act without a plan in a world with monsters roaming over it was a concern for his safety.

“By the way,” Yu paused before picking Sharley up and turning to Rie. “You can just call me Yu.”

“Well, it's nice to meet you, Yu.”

Rie gave Yu a gorgeous smile. Although she was covered in blood, she was so beautiful that Yu felt a star shining right in front of him.

The beautiful white-haired witch offered her hand and Yu took it. “Your hand feels so good! How smooth and soft it is! Marry me! Our children will look even gorgeous then your gorgeous smile!”

“Me too, Rie.”

He was happy. For the first time in months he was truly happy, for the first time in months he felt alive. “For the first time in months, my heart beats with a good feeling.”

Accompanied by the happiness he felt, he offered a pure smile, devoid of arrogance, full of joy. Yu's smile was as beautiful as Rie's.

“Let me introduce myself to you properly, my name is Yu Valarfin.”

He held out his hand to Neko. Although she had annoyed him at first, he was now in the mood to give her another chance. He could make a fresh start with the arrogant girl in front of him.

But Neko crossed her arms and turned her head away from Yu, refusing to shake hands. Yu didn't let it get him down and smiled at Neko.

The stranger from the other side of the door, and the cat who saw the witch as her mother, would follow the witch's request, which they didn't know what it was.
