After inserting the wicks into the hole between the roarons' hard, hairy buttocks, he washed his hands until his fingertips shriveled. Despite all this cleaning, he still felt dirty. He was dirty in body and soul.
“Yu, why are you in a bad mood?”
He was sitting in his tent with Yurine. He was so engrossed in playing with Yurine's tail that he only realized she was talking when she shook him by the shoulder.
“Who am I talking to, Yu?”
“It was not a good day.”
In the morning he had to get up early for training, and when he wasn't training he traveled and studied Aramish. At noon he spent an hour with his dance teacher, got beaten up by Sivina when they stopped and had to deal with Leoral's problems the rest of the time.
When night came, he trained again, took medicine, ate, and when he decided he was okay, he trained again. Then the suppository incident happened. Yu was now wondering why he had accepted the suppository job at that time. He still couldn't understand why he had agreed.
At least the medicine for his seizures was merciful today, no headache, no side effects. It tasted disgusting, though.
But by far the most tiring and demoralizing thing for her today was yelling at Yurine.
Actually, it wasn't really shouting. He couldn't remember himself yelling really, really angrily since he had come into this world, except for the Camaeron Don incident, which they had decided to forget. Tonight he had only reacted out loud, but that didn't change the fact that he had upset Yurine. He wished that moment had never happened.
“I'm sorry I yelled at you today.”
“Yu, I yell at you all the time. I said there’s nothing to worry about.”
“Even if you say so, I can't forgive myself… I didn't mean to yell at you, I didn't mean to scare you. I'm sorry, Yurine.”
It was the sincerest, most sincere apology he had ever given anyone. Even though Yurine was fine with it and unhurt, as she said she was, Yu's heart was deeply wounded.
“Yu, I'm not sad or angry.”
“Really? So,” Yu turned his cheek. “Give me a kiss.”
Yurine kissed Yu on the cheek without saying anything.
“And this cheek says ‘me too, me too.’”
He turned her other cheek to Yurine and Yurine kissed that cheek too.
“Yu.”
Yurine kissed him and then turned her cheek for Yu to kiss. At Rolderhelm she wouldn't have allowed such a thing, but now she wanted to do it herself.
“Ummmhhh...”
Yu kissed her firmly on the cheek and looked at her pink face. Yurine turned the other cheek.
“Y-Yu... My cheek is saying ‘me too.’”
“I'll eat that cheek of yours.”
Yurine put her hand where Yu had kissed it and turned her head towards the entrance of the tent. She seemed to be looking into the distance.
“That's what my mother said.”
“Hmm, so Rie has good taste of food.”
“Yu, don't be ridiculous! I'm not food!”
“I'm kidding.”
Still, the fact that Yurine was very sweet remained there. As he pinched her cheek, he saw the shadows of two people coming from the direction Yurine was looking from.
“Mr. Valarfin.”
The voice of a beautiful young girl was heard from outside the tent.
Yu was both afraid of meeting the owner of the voice calling his name and at the same time wanted to talk to her and explain the situation.
“Come.”
Behind the girl with green hair and blue eyes, another girl entered. She had silver hair and bright sea green eyes.
Sivina was holding a cage with three crows. Yu wondered how they had caught the crows.
“Ana, that time you really misunderstood. We had the suppository and... Anyway, you got it wrong. It was because of the disease.”
“Link told me.”
“Tch, who knows what he told... I'll make my statement anyway.”
Yu would not have been surprised if he had told him that there was forbidden love between them and made ridiculous claims.
“Yu, are you sick? Yu? What's the suppository?”
“I'm fine now, I'm fine, don't worry.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
He didn't want to tell Yurine that he was suffering from something like constipation. It would be embarrassing, he had to protect her dignity in her daughter's eyes.
“And what will you do with them?” Sivina asked.
Yu took Yurine off his lap and took the cage from Sivina's hand and put it on the table. Three crows were looking at Yu and he wondered where they had found a cage to put them in.
“I need them for an experiment, thank you for bringing them. If you have nothing to say you can leave, good night.”
Leaving them behind, he took out a piece of paper and a pen for notes, and after rummaging in his drawer, he found a needle and put it on the paper. Sivina and Ana still hadn't left.
“Is something wrong?”
“A-actually, we have something to say.”
Sivina folded her arms across her chest as Yu turned to her. She was looking into Ana's eyes and trying to get the courage to speak.
“I didn't understand why you were obsessed with what he said, he asked normal questions.”
Ana spoke to allay Sivina's worries as she tried to take courage from her. Sivina nodded to her.
“No, the problem is that he asked us. He could have asked Mr. Valarfin or Yurine. He might be planning something we don't know about.”
“Who are you talking about?”
Yu sat back down and Yurine took her place on his lap and handed him her tail to play with. Yu started stroking Yurine's tail with his thumb.
“Duke Vermilia invited us to his tent and asked us a few questions. Sivina talks about him.”
“What did he ask?”
Sivina was acting suspiciously, and although Yu trusted Leoral's support for the Virgo Cathedral, he had not won her personal trust.
“He asked where you were from. Or rather, he looked you up and found out that you came from the Storm Kingdom. He was surprised when we told him you were from İlonya,” Sivina said.
“That thing? Before I entered Andromedia, I told the officer at the gate that I came from the Storm Kingdom.”
“Why?” Ana asked.
“The man wanted a convincing story about why I was supporting the bearer of the Virgo Blessing. If I told him Yurine was my daughter and told him what happened to us, he wouldn't believe me. So I made up the story that I came from the Storm Kingdom because the Storm Kingdom also worshipped Azer. It's strange that he actually researched it that far, he could have gotten the real answer if he had asked me.”
It was really surprising that he had tracked Yu all the way there. Even more surprising was that he hadn't lied to them now. He had indeed done so.
“This man is a threat. It's dangerous for him to investigate me, not only will he find nothing about my past, but he has contradictory information. If he tries to separate me from Yurine...”
“I find that strange too.” Sivina thought as she put her hand to her chin. She had chosen to trust Yu and Yu was proud of her.
“What else did he say?”
“He also asked about your gold. He asked how you got the gold you gave us and said you brought new gold. He told us that if we knew anything about it, we should tell him.”
“We got some of it as a reward at Rolderhelm. I'm sorry, I didn't tell you, but I managed to talk Denise into a special reward. And the gold from my family... I can't tell you about them, and I don't have to tell Leoral about my personal information, just as I don't have to tell you. He must think he is king or something…”
What exactly had Leoral said to Sivina and Ana? Now he needed to reassure them with convincing explanations.
“And what did he mean by ‘he said he brought more gold’? Except for the small amount of gold I smuggled into the city, we hadn't shown it to anyone except the roarons...”
And he knew that the roarons would not go and tell Leoral. Isolated from the world by their false pact and their culture, the roarons' loyalty was slavish and they could be trusted with secrets.
“Yu, if you want, I can tell him to stop,” Yurine said.
“If you say something like that, he will start seeing me as a demon manipulating you. Let him do what he wants, after a while he will stop.”
If Yurine went and talked to him, all they would achieve would be to reinforce Leoral's worries.
“Asshole. He'll be more suspicious if he hears about the stolen gold in İlonya. Maybe he's already heard that news.”
He hadn't planned to do anything about Leoral for the time being, but if Leoral started to tamper with things, he would have to act before it was too late.
“That's it?”
“Yes, I felt I had to tell you these things.”
“Thank you. From now on, I'll have to work to win Leoral's trust. I can understand him though, I would have done the same in his place.”
With an innocent, gentle smile, he sent them out of his tent. When Sivina and Ana came out, the smile disappeared immediately. He shrugged his shoulders and threw his head back.
“Uh... He doesn't want me standing next to you. Who does that bastard think he is?”
Her head started to ache. Someone who had almost nothing to do with Yurine was trying to separate her from Yu.
“Such audacity is intolerable.”
Yu had been with her all this time. He was closer to her than anyone else, closer than Leoral himself, maybe even closer than Rie. To calm himself, he brought Yurine's tail to his face and rubbed the fur against his cheek. It felt nice.
“Yu, don't worry. I won't let them separate us.” Yurine puffed out her cheeks. “We'll always be together, so even you can't separate us even if you want to.”
“Yandere loli catgirl, the perfect combination.”
“What do they mean?”
“Yurine, I guess.”
He took Yurine off his lap and walked out of the tent to catch his breath and think. Yurine was walking behind him, holding Yu's hand.
“Yandere loli catgirl... Yandere loli catgirl...”
“Are you saying something?”
“No!”
He heard her whispering the words he had just told her, trying to memorize them. Yu couldn't stand her sweetness.
They left their warm tents and stepped out onto the cold plain where they had set up camp. As they were in an important position, their tents were pitched in a good spot and they could see the sea from here. The ground was white and the half moon was above their heads.
“You didn't go?”
Outside the tent, under a tree some distance away, he found Sivina and Ana chatting. Ana was quite cheerful while Sivina was reserved.
“I can't sleep tonight,” Ana said.
This could have been a problem because they had to get up early in the morning. They had to maintain their sleep patterns.
“Out for some air?” Sivina asked.
“I was going to take some air and think, because Leoral really pissed me off. If he tries to separate Yurine and me...”
“I told you, Yu. Nothing will keep us apart!” Yurine raised her arms and waited for Yu to pick her up. She was yawning the whole time.
“If you're sleepy, we can go in.”
Yurine spoke again before Yu picked her up.
“I'm not sleepy.”
“But, my lady, you will get cold if you stay here,” Ana said. Yu had lifted her up to hold her, but when Ana spoke, he put her back down.
If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
“Right. Yurine, go inside with Ana and get some clothes.”
They didn't wear very thick clothes because it was hot inside the tent. Yu didn't feel the need to wear anything extra since he was just going to get some air and come back, but if they started chatting with the girls they would soon shiver.
“I want to stay here!”
“Don't worry, I promise I won't hit on Sivina.”
Yurine narrowed her eyes and glanced at Yu and Sivina, then sighed and walked with Ana back to the tent. Yu and Sivina were left alone. There was an awkward silence as Yu had nothing to talk about.
“I don't like these moments.”
Yu was looking for topics to talk about, but most of the things he could think of they had already talked about during the day. While he was looking for something different to talk about, Sivina spoke.
“Mr. Valarfin, have you noticed?”
“What?”
“Luna is watching us.”
Yu did not turn his head and look around. He kept his eyes on Sivina so as not to frighten whoever was watching them.
“Who's Luna?”
“The half-elf servant of Duke Vermilia.”
“Uh, was her name Luna?”
It had been on his mind to learn it, but then he had forgotten about it and it hadn't occurred to him to learn it again because he hadn't encountered her much.
“Now I'm being watched. He's really exaggerating.”
Luna was the blonde half-elf they first saw in the Andromeda Church.
“Where?”
“She went into the woods behind your tent. She must have seen me spot her.”
Coming out of the tent, Yurine and Ana were coming towards them. Yurine had also bought a coat for Yu.
“Go into the tent with Yurine and I will come,” he told Sivina.
“You're going after her? I'll go with you.”
“No need.”
“Mr. Valarfin, I would like to go with you for your safety.”
Sivina was about to go with Yu when Yurine and Ana came and stood in front of them. Yurine was wearing a coat, and after giving him the coat she had brought for Yu, she lifted her arms to climb back into his lap.
“Ana, wait with Yurine. Sivina and I will look for someone and come back,” Yu said, who was immediately convinced by Sivina's offer.
He was easily convinced because the security issue was serious and when Sivina mentioned it, he had no arguments to counter it.
“Yu, why are you going with her? I should go with you.” Yurine didn't even ask where he was going.
“I'll tell you when I come, I promise.”
“I might be a little jealous too.”
Yurine was very serious while Ana was sarcastic. Yu had thought she would be more shy after what had happened, but now she was flirting with Sivina even when she was with Yu.
Of course, Sivina was shy around Ana, which he hadn't expected from her, and didn't seem pleased with her flirtatious attempts.
“Have I misunderstood something?” he thought, but the sight he saw that they explained everything to him.
“No hitting, Yu,” Yurine said.
“Didn't I already promise?” He patted Yurine's head and started walking, not wanting to miss Luna. “Stay together.”
Yu and Sivina proceeded to the wooded area where Leoral's maid had disappeared. It wasn't big enough to be called a forest, but the trunk and branches of the trees covered a large area, making what would normally be a garden look like a forest.
If they crossed the area of these trees, they would enter the area where Vermilia's entourage had their tents.
“Thank you for letting me come.”
Sivina's right hand was on the sword hanging from his waist.
“Maybe they have set a trap for me and will kill me when I enter the forest. Then it would be good to bring Sivina. Maybe Sivina is part of the trap? No, I trust her.”
Every move Sivina made reassured Yu. The way she dressed, her face, the way she spoke, the tone of her voice and everything else was reassuring.
“You don't always have to be formal with me. I would prefer you to call me by my name, at least when we are friends.”
“You are my superior.”
“Please don't be like that, as much as I like your respect for me, you were very warm when we came to the Virgo Cathedral. Something like that would be nice. As long as we're not in an official place, there's no need to be formal.”
Out of the corner of his eye he saw Sivina blushing. She bit her lip and clenched the hilt of her sword.
With a sigh, Yu kept walking, and when they reached the Vermilia tents, they saw Luna. She was talking to one of Leoral's guards.
Yu and Sivina hid behind the trees and watched them. They could not hear what they were saying because of their distance.
“Keep your distance, if something happens, come out.”
“What are you going to do?”
Yu did not answer her. When the guard left Luna's side and Luna started to walk to another tent, he whistled. Her whistle sounded like the song of a bird.
Since he was good at whistling, his voice reached Luna clearly and caught her attention. When Luna turned her head towards the approaching Yu, she was startled at first and took a few steps back, clasping her hands to her chest.
When Luna froze in her tracks, Yu approached her with a smile, not intending to frighten her. When they were close enough to hear each other clearly, he spoke.
“Hello, Luna.”
“H-hello?”
Luna hesitated to speak, trembling as she averted her blue eyes from Yu.
“Honestly, I'm glad you feel the same way I do. Do you want to take a walk?”
He got straight to the point and, without waiting for Luna's answer, he approached her face. Luna stopped being scared and blushed when Yu's face was right in front of her. Taking advantage of her letting her guard down, Yu grabbed her hands and pulled her to himself.
Luna gasped as she felt Yu's warm breath and looked into his amethyst eyes. She couldn't answer, she could only try to understand Yu.
“Today was a beautiful day and now it's a beautiful night.” He looked up at the stars. “But it makes me jealous that so many stars climb up into the sky to look at you, I wouldn't want anyone else to look at you but me.”
Grabbing Luna by both hands, Yu dragged her into the trees. Meanwhile, the half-elf's face was still red. She couldn't understand what was happening.
“W-what are you talking about? I don't understand.”
“You've been watching me, haven't you? Don't worry Luna, it's only natural that you can't take your eyes off me. After all, it's not every day you meet a handsome guy like me.” Yu chuckled. “And I'd feel bad if you weren't watching me too, since I can't take my eyes off you either.”
“Mister...”
“Shh... Wouldn't it be unfair if only one side loved, Luna?”
He leaned Luna against a tree. He put his right hand on the tree and put the half-elf between him and the tree. He held her waist with his left hand to prevent her from escaping.
“You are...”
“Luna...”
Yu's voice was as sexy as an airplane pilot's. Yu hadn't expected it to have that tone, but when the redness in Luna's cheeks reached his pointed ears, he knew he was on the right track.
He stroked Luna's waist with his left hand and brought her face close to his again. With her cute little nose, pink lips, blue eyes and blonde hair, she had the ideal elf face in Yu's mind.
Luna was about fifteen or twenty centimeters shorter than Yu. As they felt each other's breath, Yu leaned close to Luna's left ear and whispered.
“I love you.”
By the time his breath touched her ear, Yu had managed to blow Luna's mind. No words passed between Luna and Yu for a while as she stared into his eyes with her mouth open.
Yu saw that she remained silent and slowly moved his hand from her waist to her neck. After half a minute of running her fingers along Luna's neck, cheek and ear, Luna lowered her eyes to the floor.
“W-why are you saying such things all of a sudden?”
Her cheeks were still red.
“I had a feeling you had been watching me for a while, and when I saw it with my own eyes just now, I decided to come out.”
Most likely Luna was watching him on Leoral's orders, not because she loved him. He had already made sure of that when he had just seen her talking to a guard.
When Luna found out about Yu's fake feelings, she regretted what she had done and started to feel guilty. Yu could read her guilt on her face.
“It happened so fast.”
“It's rare to meet a girl like you. I wanted to tell you as I had a chance, if someone else had beaten me to it, I would have regretted it for the rest of my life.”
“But...”
"But what? Or do you think I'm ugly by Elven standards?"
“N-no... But...”
This time he interrupted her with a laugh.
“If you like it, you can look at my face as long as you like.”
He didn't let Luna talk and he didn't let her take the conversation in different directions, he set the tone.
“I wish there were no barriers between us, then we could be closer. I'm sure people on my side would love you very much.”
“Barriers? What barriers?”
“You know, I am the young lady's butler and you are the duke's maid. The young lady doesn't mind, but the duke doesn't like me, he doesn't want his maid with me. If I could get him to trust me...”
This time it was Yu who averted his eyes. When Luna looked at him, she saw a face in pain.
“She is a stupid person, but she doesn't need to think. She just has to do what I want and I will think for her.”
“What if he trusts you?”
“We're getting older, if he trusts me, we'll get married before we get older. I really don't want to wait, Luna.”
Luna's confusion grew as the extent of his lies grew. What should she do, should she give Yu a chance?
“If you want, you can leave him and go directly to the young lady. Then there will be no barrier between us.”
Here was the gamble. He didn't think she would do it, but if Luna agreed, his plan could fall apart and he could suddenly find himself in the bosom of a girl he didn't really love. Fortunately, that didn't happen.
“I can't do that, Lady Cornelia helped me. I repay my debt of gratitude by serving her.”
“Don't you love me?”
Luna didn't answer. Even if she liked him now, Yu knew she wouldn't fall in love right away, but her silence didn't mean yes, and it didn't mean no.
“If I knew why Leoral doesn't trust me, then I could do something to win his trust. I think he's just jealous that I'm around the young lady.”
“It's not like that.”
“Do you know why he doesn't trust me? Luna, if you do, I will do everything in my power to earn his trust and prove that I am worthy of you.”
His eyes widened and he excitedly brought his face a little closer to Luna's.
“Tell me, what does he know about me?”
Luna's lips trembled, then she swallowed again.
“There was a robbery in İlonya, my master suspects you. So that was the first thing I heard.”
“That's why Cecilus is a son of a bitch, it's passed down from father to son.”
He hid his anger. Sometimes he found it difficult to hide it, but he was usually successful in hiding his emotions thanks to his ability to act.
“My God, am I accused of such a horrible thing? I wouldn't want such rumors spread about me. I hope he hasn't told anyone else. I can't risk the young lady's reputation. M-maybe she'll even fire me...”
“Don't worry, for now he only spoke to your old servant!”
Luna suddenly raised her voice, putting her hands to her mouth when she realized the level of her voice. Both Yu and Luna looked around to make sure no one could hear them.
“Sivina is well hidden, even I can't see her.”
He wondered what Sivina was thinking, watching him now. It was possible that she was going crazy behind a tree.
“With Bart? I see. Anything else? Who knows what else I don't know? I have to work to eliminate all suspicion against me.”
“I-And...” Luna bit her lip. “Please don't say I said that...”
“Don't worry, Luna. What is said between us stays between us, what would be the point of us being together if everyone else heard?”
“Y-yeah...” Luna smiled innocently as Yu started stroking Luna's hair. “There's someone from Rolderhelm, there's been a scam there. They talked about what you guys did, but I don't believe it, of course!”
“You must believe I'm a thief.”
Luna's eyes widened.
“T-thief? You really...”
“Yes, Luna. I'm a thief who's good at stealing girls' hearts. When it comes to stealing money or things like that, of course I have never done anything so despicable. I can't tarnish my lady's reputation with such things.”
Luna smiled and nodded, relieved by the answer.
“But someone from Rolderhelm? That scares me, Luna. What kind of person is it?”
Had Denise discovered what he had done and sent men after him? It was possible, but since they were from the same world, he was convinced that even if he found out, he would be doing him a favor.
“Or... Did that idiot really come after me? How did he track us down?”
They hadn't killed Raul. When he woke up, he saw that Yu and the others were already gone and he must have been devastated.
“Although, I did offer the job to Sivina and Ana while he is with us. It's normal for him to search and find the Virgo Cathedral, but did he really come all the way here for Sivina?”
He swallowed the saliva that had accumulated in his throat, wanting to kill her if she had come here.
“His name is Raul, he said you were robbing Rolderhelm.”
“R-Raul? Whor...”
“Who's that?”
Yu swallowed again. He took his hand out of the half-elf's hair.
“You know the girl next to us, right? Sivina. He liked her and when Sivina accepted the job offer we gave her, to be the young lady's knight, he thought I stole her. And then he tried to kill me. The young lady saved my life.”
“Really”
“Why would I lie to you? Luna, why would Leoral want to kill me...”
“Please don't say such things! My master would never do such a thing!”
He took a step back and released Luna to go.
“I understand that you trust him, but... I don't know, Luna. I guess I should start worrying about my life.”
“No, don't worry!”
Luna started to raise her voice, luckily there was no one around except Sivina. When she grabbed Yu by the shoulders, he grabbed her hands and pulled them off his shoulders.
“Don't worry, Luna. I will do my best to prove myself and stop that criminal, and don't worry, the young lady will protect me. Let's leave these unpleasant matters and go back to our places without worrying anyone. We'll talk later.”
Luna nodded. Yu watched her as she turned and walked away at a fast pace. When the half-elf girl entered her own camp and disappeared between the tents, he turned around and looked for Sivina, who should be behind the trees.
When Sivina came out of her hiding place, her face showed no emotion, but the expression in her eyes was like she watching a pitiful creature.
“Why is your face like that?”
“What did you just do?”
“I was trying to get something out of Luna. There was a robbery in İlonya, and when Leoral discovered our gold, he thought it was me.”
“You played with a girl's emotions to find out. I don't approve of it. Luna is a very naive girl, what you did is very wrong. Now she will have innocent dreams about you.”
“It's a small price to pay on the road we want to travel. Leave it to me to feel guilty about it.”
He could have gotten Luna out of the way somehow. Before that, he had other things to think about.
“Are you talking about the gold we brought? We told you we brought it from Rolderhelm.”
“When you were in İlonya, I told you I was a creditor. When you left, we visited those who had not paid their debts to my family, and we made a fortune then.”
“I didn't know that.”
“No one knew except me and Yurine. I'm not sure if I would have gotten our debts without Yurine. The roarons knew, though.”
The roarons saw the gold coins they were carrying, but they didn't know what money was, so they weren't interested. Yu told them not to talk about it, so they forgot about the gold, which they were not interested in anyway.
“Did one of the roarons betray me? I don't think so. I don't believe they would betray me. Even if they don't love me, they will keep me for Yurine.”
“Did one of the roarons tell you then?”
“I don't think so. I found out from Luna that Leoral talked to Bart. Bart must have somehow found what we hid. Then he went and told Leoral.”
Bart didn't trust Yu either. Both Bart and Leoral were uncomfortable with Yu being around Yurine. It was only a matter of time before they did something to drive Yu away.
“What Bart has done is treason, I will expel him from the cathedral, and I hope Leoral dies soon.”
“A wish that doesn't sound good.”
“I don't care what happens to those who try to separate me from my daughter. I will not leave Yurine.”
Their plans were beyond Leoral's absurd desires. They would not give up their big dreams and their cause for progress because of Leoral or anyone else.
“The roarons are on guard duty, but can you stand guard with Ana in our tent? You can do it in shifts.”
Raul was scaring him, he had to be cautious.
“Yes, we will.”
“Thank you. It's good to have trusted friends like you. If you hadn't told me that Leoral had spoken to you, all our plans would have been ruined before they started. Damn it, I'm so open to blame I can't even defend myself. If Yurine came to my defense, they'd say I got into her head. I get angry just thinking about it.”
“It'll all work out, I know Yurine won't want to leave you. After all, daughters are fond of their fathers.” Sivina narrowed her sea-green eyes and gave a big smile. She was really beautiful. “The only thing that bothers me is what you did to Luna. I want you to sort it out as soon as possible.”
It was the first time he had ever heard Sivina speak to him in an intimate way. He stopped for a moment. They trusted Yu, loved him, while he would sacrifice Sivina and Ana if necessary.
“I will feel worse if you are this good to me, but I like it when you are like this.”
When he returned to his tent, he saw Ana standing at the entrance. He left Sivina with Ana and went inside the tent.
“What did you do?”
Yurine greeted him running. When he sat down to rest, she was on his lap again.
“Leoral's maid, the half-elf, she was watching us. Sivina and I went to her. I had a talk with her.”
“What did you talk about?”
“Leoral heard about our theft,” he said in a whisper. “He somehow put the pieces together in his head and suspected me. Bart was with him, I think, and somehow he must have found out about our gold and told Leoral.”
Who else could have betrayed him? He put Link on the list of suspects, but he would deal with Bart first.
“Those traitors! Yu, I'll punish them!”
“I'll take care of it. Just stay by my side.” Yu lowered his voice a little more. “But we have a problem, Raul is here. The pervert tracked us down.”
As he spoke, he picked up a knife and brought it to his fingertip. He wanted to make his finger bleed, a few drops of blood would be enough, but he was afraid to touch the knife to his finger.
“Raul? I told you to kill him... Wait a minute, what are you doing?”
“I'll mix the black blood in my veins with the crows' water. I wonder what effect it will have on them.”
“Yu, it will hurt.”
“Just a few drops. Let me not feel the pain.”
Yurine held Yu's wrist and cast a spell. When Yu felt no pain, he gently pricked his finger with the knife. He poured three drops of blood from the thumb of his left hand into the water of the caged crows. The black blood dissolved in the water and disappeared.
The small wound on Yu's finger was healed by Yurine in a few seconds.
“I wonder what will happen to them in the morning. Maybe we should have given the blood directly.”
While in the Wizarding Academy library, he had researched alchemy and learned a few things about poisons. If he had poison running through his veins, he could try new things with poisons.
“Raul... Yu, this is important. What are we going to do about him? He's here to hurt you.”
“What's more, he told Leoral about our theft at Rolderhelm. We will eliminate him immediately, I can't let him talk to Sivina and Ana.”
After laying Yurine on the bed, he went to the exit of the tent and stuck his head out. He was looking to see if Kigaro or Dimen was here.
“What's the matter, Mr. Valarfin?”
Sivina was not here, but Ana was on guard duty.
“Where did Sivina go?”
