Arc 2 - Chapter 16: Actual Main Character

Which one should he imagine? Sivina or Ana? They were both beautiful, he loved them both. He wanted to marry them both and have a harem. Since this was a medieval fantasy world, there could be no law to prevent him from doing so.

Or could there? He had never been interested in the law, but he knew that if he became rich enough, he could have both of them, regardless of the law. He would love them both equally and be a fair husband. If only he had been given such opportunities in his real world, he would have been a much better man.

He squeezed his manhood in the palm of his hand and accelerated. His manhood was like a wild horse, unrestrained, unbridled. Like Alexander the Great's Bukelafos, he was in constant motion and no force could stop him. During this moment Satoshi wanted to dream of them both. If possible, he would try to have them both. It was an incredibly difficult task for him, but in a world like this, the only obstacle was his imagination!

He could dream about Ana because she was cute. Apart from the fact that he liked girls with short hair, she had a natural beauty. She was a village beauty and in that way she was closer to Satoshi, who had also grown up in a village. He wanted to marry her and live a village life and work in the fields with his five children. When he returned from the fields in the evening, Ana would give him cold sake and they would slaughter and eat the chickens they raised themselves.

Sivina's noble beauty, on the other hand, was of a different magnitude. As an isekai main character, if anyone deserved to be the main female character in his story, it was definitely Sivina. Her beauty was indescribable, her nobility and grace too high for someone like Satoshi to attain. Yet he desired her, wanted to possess her. And why shouldn't he? Besides, a little dream never hurt anyone. If he became rich and guaranteed that he could give her a noble life, he could make his dream a reality.

Before he could decide whom he should dream of, yellowish semen spurted from the tip of his manhood onto the pot. It was sticky, running slowly down the leaves of the plant. Some of it got on his hand, but he couldn't find a place to wipe it off, so he used one of the plant's clean leaves to do the job.

“I'm disgusting,” he thought to himself. “But I'm too lazy to wash my hands! Hmm... I feel regret again... I shouldn't do such things... OK! From now on I'll start grinding and become a chad!”

Suddenly he pulled up his pants and buckled his belt. He had gotten himself fired up once again, but he didn't know what to do from this point on.

“The first thing I have to do is to stop doing this. Then I need to gain power and money, and I can use my healing magic for both. If I can develop it...” He imagined himself as a famous doctor. People revolved around him and worshipped him for healing. “Yes, I could be very rich! First I enter the royal palace, then I build a palace for myself! People would beg me, give me money and gifts! In fact, in such a world I would get more than Ana and Sivina. No, no, I would be a loyal man.”

He threw himself on the bed. He had won the battle and got the right to sleep in the room opposite the girls. Who knows, maybe he could go to their room at night for a chat or come to their aid if they needed anything.

“How am I supposed to improve my magic? The constant practice is supposed to improve me, but the girls are trying so hard not to get hurt. I mean, I'd rather they didn't get hurt, of course, but I can't practice this time. Should I try to make Raul get wounds? Actually...” He snapped his fingers with a brilliant idea. “That bastard Yu was saying something about the Wizarding Academy. I wonder if I could learn something there to improve my magic... Yeah, I should go and talk to Yu. After all, I'm helping him, I should get something in return.”

As far as he remembered, Yu was going out with Lylphia after sunset. He wondered why he was doing something so dangerous, but he didn't plan to ask. He was going to find him before he left and tell him that he wanted to use the Wizarding Academy's library right away.

Of course, it wasn't a rush job, but there was no internet here, and he wanted to pass the time by making small talk and killing some time. Otherwise he would be bored until bedtime and there was nothing else to do.

If he could go to the girls, if he had any right to be with them, he would rather save it for later in the night and use the excuse that he couldn't sleep. Maybe, it was highly unlikely, but maybe, just maybe, he would have the misfortune to fall asleep in the girls' room.

“Then let's find out where the bastard is!”

He looked out the window. His room overlooked the backyard of the guild. He saw the two adventurers outside, but Yu was not there. He was either in his room or somewhere downstairs. At least he hoped so, and he also hoped that he wouldn't use his face to get near the girls. It was hard enough being in a constant fight with Raul, and he didn't have the energy to deal with another opponent. Still, he would fight for the girls if he had to.

He left the room and approached the girls' room. He put his ear to the door but there was no sound from inside. Then he went down the stairs. A bard, tired of singing, was playing the strings of his lute for a few customers inside. As the adventurers finished their dinner and waited for their drinks, Satoshi peeked inside to find the man he was looking for, but he wasn't here.

“Has he already left? Or is he in his room? What's he doing in his room?”

He hoped he hadn't gone out, if so he had nothing to do. He wasn't sleepy and he was too lazy to talk and bicker with Raul. When he stepped outside to look at the front yard of the guild, he was relieved to see the man he was looking for. He was sitting on the fence, facing the town. There was no one out front except Yu. He was standing alone.

“Oi! Why are you sitting alone?”

He spoke loudly as usual, so Yu could hear him. He both heard and felt uncomfortable.

“How many times have I told you not to overreact like that? You're not an anime girl, you're just an ugly bastard. You make me and the people around you uncomfortable.”

“Looking for a fight, huh? I didn't choose my face!”

The more Satoshi continued with his stubborn response, the more Yu's nerves got on edge, he turned around and looked at him with a pitiful face he didn't expect to see. He first saw sorrow in his face, then his sorrow turned to disgust.

“Why do you have to be like this?” Yu asked. “The universe gave you a chance to start a new life and you are wasting it in a ridiculous way. Even a child wouldn't behave like you. I want to beat you.”

Even though he knew he was annoying, it was in his heart to act like this. He wanted people to accept him this way and love him this way. He didn't find it sincere to become someone he wasn't in order to be loved, and he didn't respect people who were like that.

Yu was that kind of person. Instead of showing his true feelings, he tried to pretend to be different from who he was so that people would like him. Satoshi disliked him not only because he was handsome, but also because of his insincerity.

Still, he sat down next to him and looked at the depressing gothic town full of dark houses with Yu. “What do you think?” he asked.

“It's none of your business. What do you want?”

“Can you not be so hard on me? We're fellow countrymen sailing in the same boat!” He grabbed Yu's shoulder and shook it. “It's good for you to talk and open up too. We'll start getting along better.”

“I don't think I'll see you again after this mission is over,” Yu said and pushed Satoshi's hand away. “I wouldn't have been friends with you in the first world, and I see no reason to be friends with you now. You look like the type of person who watches tentacle hentai.”

How did he know? It was impossible for something like this to show on his face. He didn't want to see it as something to be ashamed of, but the sudden discovery made him uneasy.

He coughed and composed himself. “Let don’t waste time with such small details. I really wondered what you were doing here sitting by yourself, Isn't Yurine with you?”

“She was in the bathroom with Lylphia.”

Could Sivina and Ana have been there too? If so, that could be the reason why he heard no sound when he put his ear to their room.

“What do you want?” Yu repeated. “I want to know what you can get out of me.”

“Do I have to have an intention to come to you! I'm just trying to be friends!” He grabbed Yu's shoulder again. “There are a lot of things we can't talk about with anyone else, but we can talk about with each other. That automatically brings us closer together. We can even become best friends.”

Instead of answering, Yu pushed Satoshi's hand away again. “Touch my shoulder again and I'll beat you,” he said. Then he shifted in his seat to make his discomfort clear. “You haven't met other people who have come to this world, have you?”

Actually there was one person, someone else who came into this world with him. But at the very beginning of their story they were separated their way because they had big differences of opinion. Satoshi wanted to live an isekai adventure. He wanted to turn back home.

It was okay for Satoshi to talk about him, but he was not a bad person to disrespect someone else's privacy. So he wasn't going to say anything about him.

“No.”

“Why do you think we came here and not somewhere else? We have our world, we have this world. There may be other worlds that we don’t know. I think, probably they were. But we didn't come to another world, we came specifically here, to Rolderhelm. Is there a purpose for us?”

Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

He had not thought about such things. For him, isekai life was a chance and the only thing to do was to make the most of it. Having fun, making money, meeting girls and making friends was the only purpose he could find in this world. He wasn't looking for anything more, he didn't need anything more. If he could have what he didn't have in his previous life, that was enough.

“Who cares? We are here and we should be happy to be here.” He approached Yu, who was moving away from him. “Forget all that, what's going on between you and Lylphia?”

Yu looked at Satoshi out of the corner of his eye. Instead of answering, he turned his gaze back to the town he was watching and watched the last people cross the sidewalk and enter their homes.

Satoshi's goal was to find out if something was going on between Lylphia and Yu. If there was a relationship or a crush between Lylphia and Yu, he could infer that Yu wasn't interested in Sivina or Ana and relax. If he didn't like Lylphia, it meant that he might like Sivina or Ana, in which case he would have to consider Yu as an enemy.

“I guess it goes without saying that I like Sivina and Ana.” Satoshi made his confession without hesitation. “If you hit on them, I'll fight with you.”

Yu, who had been sullen from the start, gave a wry smile. “Aside from your lack of virtue, you'll only get your heart broken if you pursue daydreams that won't come true.”

“I don't need you to think about me!”

It was not a lack of virtue for him to want both. If he was a good enough man to get them both, it was his right to get them both.

Yu rose from the fence in a whisper. “Glupav kučkin sin.”

“What does that mean?”

“Didn't the world automatically translate?”

It was a headache-inducing thought. He didn't want to accept that other people spoke a different language to him, but the idea of the whole world speaking his language would of course be absurd. Yet the idea of the world speaking Yu's language was also absurd.

“Why are you so cold to me even though we come from the same world?” Satoshi was serious this time. He wasn't joking or trying to make himself sympathetic. “Well, I don't really have good feelings for you either, but shouldn't we technically get along?”

“Turk fucks Turk in another country,”* Yu said. It was a phrase Satoshi had never heard. “You may be looking for friends, but I don't want to be friend with someone so annoying that I don't want to see again after this mission is over. Still, because of what we have in common, I'll give you a piece of advice, when you chase dreams you know you can't achieve, you'll get nothing but disappointment. Whether it's those girls, or being the most powerful person in the world, or being the Prince of Rolderhelm. Be a normal person Satoshi, speak softly, don't overreact and stop wearing tracksuit.”

“What's wrong with tracksuit? It's fine!”

It was a perfect outfit, made with the advanced textile technology of the modern world, suitable for all four seasons, both at home and outside. He couldn't find anything of the same quality in this world. Just the thought of dressing like Yu overwhelmed him. He was not a man who liked jackets or pants. He liked to dress casually.

“It's not as if you dream dreams that can't come true…”

The cold crept into his neck. The weather was overcast today, and combined with the darkness of the Redchapel, it was even darker. He didn't like being here, he could be under the colorful sky of Rolderhelm. He wanted to finish his mission as soon as possible, get the fifteen gold coins and get away from here.

“By the way, speaking of dreams, I want to improve my healing magic, and I thought you might be able to help me with that.”

“I wouldn't hurt myself for you.”

“Of course I won't ask that!” Yu walked into the guild and Satoshi ran after him. “You work for the Wizarding Academy, right? I hear the library there is pretty big, maybe if you mediate I can find something to improve my healing magic.”

“Hmm? It's good that Satoshi has decided to improve himself.” A girl with sea-green eyes cut them off. “But you shouldn't bother others for that. Try asking nicely.”

Sivina was dressed in her nightgown, her silver hair covered with a towel. She had just come out of the bath and her scent enchanted Satoshi.

“How much nicer can I be?" Satoshi replied. "This is the nicest I've been in three months.”

“Ah- Satoshi is here too? By the way, good evening, Mr. Valarfin.”

Ana, who arrived later, appeared next to them as if she had met an annoying person she didn't want to meet. She was also getting ready for bed and had a towel over her head. She stood next to Sivina and greeted Yu, who had just joined their group, or not even joined actually.

“Shouldn't I be the first to be greeted? Just because we've been friends for a while, it hurts my heart that you greeted someone you don't know when I’m here.”

When he was around Yu, he was ignored by other people and it was incredibly humiliating. He was used to getting negative reactions because of his appearance, but when even people he knew kept doing the same thing, it made him think bad thoughts and filled him with resentment. He wanted to be valued the way other people were valued. He knew he wasn't very handsome, but he didn't think he deserved the reaction he got.

“Didn't Yurine and Lylphia come out?” Yu asked.

“They did,” Sivina said. “They are drying their hair. Are you going somewhere?”

“A mission,” Yu replied. “I'm not supposed to talk about it.”

Satoshi wondered what had happened, but Yu didn't give him a chance to question him and went back to his room. It was better this way, he stayed with the girls. Raul wasn't here to bother him either. So Sivina and Ana were belong to only him tonight-

“Let's go out too,” Ana said and shattered Satoshi's dreams.

“Yes, we were going to get some air, but we didn't have to now,” Sivina continued. “Good night.”

Before he had time to stop them, the girls went up to their rooms. With nothing left to do, Satoshi resigned himself to his fate, which required him to go back to his room and sit idly until it was time to sleep. Fortunately, sleep overcame him quickly and Satoshi was asleep before he knew it.

***

It was still night when he woke up. There was no music coming from downstairs, so everyone must be in bed. He closed his eyes and buried his head in the pillow to go to sleep again, but sleep was nowhere near him this time.

“Sivina... Ana...” His manhood stood up again. “There's nothing to do, I'd like to sleep, but since we're both up.”

First he made sure the door was locked to prevent any possible raids. Then he took a handkerchief, lay down on his bed and rolled up his tracksuit. Little Satoshi, of whom he was so proud, turned his head to the sky. He took it between his fingers and used his imagination to visualize Sivina and Ana.

But what he saw was Yu's face. In his mind he tried all sorts of tricks to make it disappear, but his face was overpowering Sivina and Ana's. His erect organ deflated at the situation and Satoshi lost his desire.

“Damn it! Why did this happen out of the blue? It's hard to even imagine without a material!”

He rested his head on the pillow and looked up at the ceiling. It was dark so he couldn't see much. Still, with the light from the window, his eyes began to adjust-

Not the glass itself, but the lock on the window suddenly broke and the wind filled the room. Satoshi didn't have time to react, the pain of the knife in his arm made him moan, then shut up. The wind slammed the drafty window back, but the person who shouldn't have been there was already inside.

“You... What the hell is that thing?” A grown man referred to Satoshi's penis. “Are you seriously telling me I'm in the wrong room? You don't look like a woman or a knight.”

He tried to use the healing spell to heal himself as the poison worked its way through his body, but the glow the spell emitted allowed the attacker to recognize the situation and act quickly.

A second knife stabbed Satoshi in the shoulder.

“Okay, now that we've come this far, let's at least intimidate them a little.”

He couldn't react, he was afraid. He would have given everything he had to make a single sound and call out to Sivina, Ana, even Raul, begging for help, but his lips wouldn't part.

“You are so ugly.”

He couldn't move, he tried to heal himself somehow with a healing spell, but the blows that followed distracted him, prevented him from doing so.

Stranger climbed onto the bed, brought his knife to the collar of his T-shirt and ripped it in half, skin and all. Blood poured down both sides of his body, from his throat to his navel. The stranger had a bag, he reached into it and pulled out a bottle, the color of which he could not see in the darkness. He put the cap on with his thumb and held it to Satoshi's mouth.

His lips were forced open and he was forced to drink the potion that made him want to gag. He wanted to vomit but couldn't. Some of the liquid got into his throat and would have caused him to choke, but the stranger picked him up and slapped him on the back, saving him from an early death.

“All right, all right...”

He couldn't describe the pain. The knife plunged into his exposed testicles and sliced its way up. Then once more, it repeated. Over and over again until small pieces remained. When it was over, the remaining pieces were plucked off by hand by the stranger.

“Don't take it personally,” the stranger said. “You've just made bad friends.”

He was in a world of pain. His existence was only pain. Tears streamed down his face, his scream exploded in his lungs. The pain in his upper body was nothing compared to the pain he continued to feel in his groin as the knife stabs scraped randomly across his skin. Healing magic could not cure him at this point, death was already the only way out.

“Let's look here.”

The knife entered his abdomen, creating a smile below his navel. The pain continued as his intestines were ripped out. He could not die, his soul would not leave his chest. The ordeal that filled his mind wouldn't even allow him to pray to the gods and beg them to take his life.

“I forgot.”

The stranger pulled another tool from his bag, he could see it was sharp. Who knows what evil purpose he had brought it for? He stood up and hung the sharp instrument in place of the chandelier.

“To get you used to the darkness of death,” he said as he leaned over Satoshi's face. “May the gods not forgive your sins.”

***

“Thank you for coming with us, Lylphia. We feel safer.”

“Speak for yourself.”

Yurine didn't feel any difference for herself, but Yu did.

“It's all right, Mr. Valarfin. You shouldn't travel alone in dangerous places anyway.”

The city was built in gothic architecture, which made it more terrifying to walk around at night. He didn't know how powerful Lylphia was, but he was sure it was safer with her.

“What were those letters you delivered for? It took hours, and at night.”

“I don't know what the letters said, it was something I did for money.”

It was a simple lie and Lylphia believed it immediately, she had no reason to question Yu.

She didn't know if it was luck or irresponsibility, but they hadn't seen any guards on the streets either. They had been wandering for hours and the streets were empty, which explained how easily the killer had committed murder.

He didn't have the ability to tell the time by looking at the moon, but it had to be around one or two after the midnight. The people of the Second World usually went to bed around ten and went to sleep and got up at sunrise.

Most shops were closed because people were asleep, but the inns were always open, so they could come and go as they pleased. They entered the inn and started walking up the stairs to the top floor.

At that moment a girl's terrified scream reached their ears, a single scream that was enough to wake them up.

Yu, Yurine and Lylphia, along with other people coming out of their rooms, ran in the direction of the sound.

They soon realized that the source of the scream was Ana. Sivina was frozen and Ana was screaming and crying. Raul was busy vomiting into a flower pot.

They pushed their way forward and looked into the room where people were gathered. The door was wide open.

Inside the room was a seventeen-year-old boy hanging from the ceiling by a hook. His own intestine was wrapped around his throat. The boy's abdomen was split open and his internal organs spilled out. His tracksuit had been pulled down and his genitals ripped out. There was two holes where his eyes should have been. The body was swaying gently with the wind coming into the room through the open window.

Given that his hands were still wrapped around his neck, Yu assumed that he was conscious when he died. The terror on the boy's face was frightening.

As he closed Yurine's eyes to prevent her from seeing more, the hook from which the body was hanging snapped off the ceiling and the victim's lifeless body fell to the floor.

People were still flocking towards Satoshi's body to see what had happened.
