The next morning, Ye Tian used his qi to scan his whole body, before leaving the shack. His appearance looked much brighter now, grabbing that little hope he still had.
“Most of it’s healed…not too bad.”
Ye Tian finally headed home where he saw the rest of the children were still sleeping. He decided to go to the kitchen and cook some breakfast, since it’s been a while since he came home, plus the fact that he’s never had a chance to take care of the kids ever since he's arrived at the capital. The children have suffered a bit, and it saddened Ye Tian because he couldn't do anything about it. One of the children, named Chen Hua, who usually cooked along with Ye Chun, woke up because she became the primary cook ever since Ye Chun left. Seeing Ye Tian, Chen Hua was delighted and said, “BIG BROTHER!.”
The loud sound woke everyone up that led to the rest of the children to wake up in excitement, surrounding Ye Tian in the small kitchen.
“Alright rascals, go back and prepare the plates. Today I’m cooking for you all,” Ye Tian said.
“Do you need help big bro?” one of them asked.
“No. I’m almost done. Sit down and relax everyone. Today you’re going to taste my special dish!,” Ye Tian responded.
Ye Tian finally finished cooking and served them the food while the tea was still brewing. This was one of the very few times they got to eat together and discussed what had happened over the past few days. Most of the kids that were beaten recovered as they were mostly minor injuries. A few had more injuries but wasn’t too serious. Ye Tian handed each of them healing potions that he concocted a day earlier.
“Big brother, did you beat that stupid kid who tried to kidnap Big sister Ye Chun?” one of them asked.
“Unfortunately not, but I did give them some serious blow. I’m sure they’re still thinking of me,” Ye Tian replied.
“We should report this to the city guards, so they don’t trouble big bro anymore,” another proposed.
“No. It’s not necessary. Everything will be fine.” Ye Tian replied while heading to the kitchen. A short while later, he came back with a teapot and started pouring the drinks for the children.
“Drink up. This is a really good tea I found,” Ye Tian instructed.
The kids finished the drinks and continued asking so many questions, where Ye Tian almost got a headache from all the noises.
“Big bro, when all the village elders come……” one of them said, but his eyes became sleepy. It wasn't until a few breaths later, the child really did fall asleep.
“Yeah big bro, I can’t wait for the rest of the villagers…..” another said before falling asleep as well.
One by one, the children soon all fell asleep.
“It seems this forgetful potion is working. I have only one day to get this done before they wake up again.”
He took out his map, analyzing which routes are the most efficient, before carrying one of the kids on his shoulder. He moved quickly to the spotted map, before arriving in front of a large residential manor that was surrounded by a nice neighborhood. Obviosuly, the family that lives here are doing quite well for themselves.
Ye Tian sneaked inside one of the manor’s garden and arrived at one of the main living doors where no one was around. He knocked the door loudly before gently laying the child onto the ground with a blanket sheet around him. As soon as he did that, he quickly left the manor into a distant area. The door opened, where an old grandpa with a few guards appeared. One of the guards saw the sleeping child with a letter held in his hand. Handing the letter to the old grandpa, he read the letter and sighed. He instructed the guards to bring the child in with care.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
Not far away from the manor, hiding behind a huge tree, Ye Tian saw the scene that gave him a great sense of relief. But he couldn't waste so much time there. This was just only the beginning of his plan. He returned home before doing the same thing again, delivering another kid at another area that was marked in his map. It took him from early morning to mid afternoon until he finally delivered the final child to its final home. Ye Tian was livid with much happiness as all the family residences had accepted all the children that was brought in front of their doors.
The map he bought from Ma Qian had a lot of useful information about the current influential families in this city and their reputation. This allowed Ye Tian to plan and observed all the potential residences to ensure the children he delivered would be in a good place. Ye Tian finally smiled but in his heart, he was also heartbroken.
Their village was destroyed. Only he knew all the villagers were killed, but he was too young and too weak to do anything about it. To make it worse, the capital haven't been smooth sailing either for him or his siblings. Only trouble and suffering will be in their future if they were to accompany Ye Tian the whole time. Such a harsh life would cause the children to live without a bright future. Giving them away to honest and wealthy families would give them a better life, and most important of all….Peace!
“I hope 10 years from now, they won’t remember anything about the existence of the village or myself…..it’s better this way,” Ye Tian murmured to himself while gripping his hands tightly.
This plan would change the children's destiny for good! But his plan wasn't finished yet.
Ye quickly moved towards Internal Healing Garden where he met his two younger sisters. He told them that he wanted to take them out to eat at a nice restaurant for not being with them recently.
Ye Tian said, “Order anything you want! This is your brothers treat.”
“Really big brother?” Ye Xue asked eagerly. Ye Tian nodded as an approval.
“Where are the others? Ye Chun asked.
“I took them out to eat this morning, so they’re at home safe and sound now. I got a good friend that will be watching for them from now on,” Ye Tian replied. While Ye Tian didn’t tell the truth, it wasn’t a lie from the truth.
“Big broooooo, where have you been the past few days?” Ye Xue asked again while munching on her food.
“I’ve met a new friend that helped me earn some extra zoids, so today is my day off to treat you all. By the way how has Master Elder Fan and the others treated you?” Ye Tian curiously asked.
“It’s been great big brother, Elder Fan is very nice, the others are also taking good care of us. They treat us well. We also help around the place to lessen our burden of living there” Ye Chun responded excitedly.
“Hahaha that’s great to hear….wait here, let me get some drinks for us to drink. What do you guys want to drink?” Ye Tian asked.
“Fruit Juiceeeee,” Ye Xue responded quickly.
“Tea will be fine brother,” Ye Chun also replied.
“Alright, wait a moment,” Ye Tian said as he left the table. 10 minutes later, he came back with the drinks.
“It’s getting too crowded here, how about we walk around the city while drinking this?” Ye Tian asked.
“Okay.”
“Alright.”
Ye Tian and the younger sisters walked for about 15 minutes until they arrived at a small abandoned street. The sisters were really happy that they finally got to spend some precious time with their big brother. In fact, ever since they arrived at the capital, they rarely met due to some bad circumstances.
“”Big Bro, when are you coming back to Internal Healing Garden?” Ye Chun asked.
“Yeahhh big bro, when are you…….” Ye Xue also curiously asked.
Suddenly, she started walking wobbly before falling asleep. Before she fell to the ground, Ye Tian reacted quickly to catch her before carrying her to an abandoned shelter.
“Little sister, are you okay? what……,” Ye Chun asked frantically while following Ye Tian.
Just after a couple of minutes after Ye Xue fainted, Ye Chun started feeling a bit woozy as well, but she couldn't resist the effects of the sleepiness. Ye Tian quickly catched her with his other hand, laying both of them down gently on a padded straws. Ye Tian looked outside to see if there were any witnesses, fortunately, his plan was going as planned without anyone around the scene.
As he was about to wrap some blankets around them, Ye Xue's hand moved a bit, gripping Ye Tian's hand. It made him awful that he had to do this. It felt like sharp needles were always stabbing his heart, which caused him to think again if he made the right choice.
Should Ye Tian abandon the plan or to follow through?
