Chapter Thirty Two: Auction 3

The Treasures were all brought to Gabe's Private room after the auction came to a close, and a Server handed Malner a payment rune. The Rune was Pacifically designed for Large fund exchanges, and were mass produced by High realm Space channelers and Master rune drawers. The rune was written on just a small piece of parchment and Malner dropped it into his Money pouch. Once inside the pouch a small pop sounded, and it teleported the specified amount out of the bag along with itself. If it didn't find the correct amount of money it would not even activate so the pop was all the sign they needed to know the count was correct. The server nodded and left, leaving the treasure on a table in the room for Malner to do with as he saw fit. Gabe winked at Malner, and Matthew and Seygo were stunned to silence by the impressive man’s sheer wealth. He'd bought over a million gold rings worth of goods and not even flinched when it came time to pay up the question of just how rich was he was going through both of their minds. Malner just grinned as he picked the Clear Jar off the table with a tiny dark cloud hovering in the middle of it. dozens of small black runes were written all along the cork to hold . Gabe smiled knowingly as Malner handed it to Matthew with an . Matthew's eyes widened. He looked at Malner with disbelief. The man had paid Five hundred thousand Gold rings for this. Seygo let out a short breath, awed by both her Cousin's luck and Malner's generosity. "I.. I can't pay you for this. Not what you paid anyway." Matthew said, still staring at the essence in awe but reluctant to receive it. Malner laughed. "No my friend, you are welcome to it. Please keep your money. You and your family have treated me with more kindness and respect then I have seen in my life time. This is but the least I can do. Please use it, and become a strong young Channeler." Gabe smirked at his Acolyte’s honest speech, he only told him to deny any payment for it. Matthew accepted the gift very gently then laid the jar on one of the seats and bowed deeply towards Malner. It would be more then rude to not accept especially after it was bought just for this purpose, and for the life of him Matthew couldn’t think of one reason not to accept it. "You are a generous Man, Honorable Malner. I, and my father's house thank you deeply. Know that I will not easily forget this gift." Malner bowed back and nodded. “It is trivial, what is a great sum to one man is pennies to another. I am simply glad I was able to snag it for a friend, And not let that brute get his unworthy claws on it.” Matthew just let that pennies comment brush past him, who would call half a million Gold rings pennies. Perhaps old Vernon, since he was known to be the richest in the Greenwood family… but that wealth was not all liquid. It was invested in treasures for Channeling, in family businesses, in weapons, in his children and grand children. The three soul beasts Seygo and Matthew had bonded with were all bought from the Greenwood family higher ups by Vernon personally. Since rare finds by the family acolytes were freely distributed and auctioned to the highest Greenwood bidder to keep the wealth inside the family. And just Seygo’s Thunder phoenix had set the old man back almost half of his wealth since it was beyond rare and he had to heavily contend for it. The family’s treasury was boosted by millions that day, but Vernon wept for his personal worth afterwards. And had not bought anything so costly since. He was almost a miser about it now, trying to build back up his fortune, and none of his children blamed him after hearing just how much getting that phoenix had taken. The astronomical price tag was enough to make a whole family blink before spending it all in one place. After putting the Essence in his spacial pouch Matthew had the same thought Gabe had, get out of the city and get home as quickly as possible.

After packing away all the Treasures Malner had bought The group left the auction house through a private exit and met the Single Acolyte the Greenwood family had sent with them at the door. The rest of the household Acolytes were busy somewhere else, alongside Gelgar who was taking care of Dire family business, but was due back this week. The Acolyte aided by Malner lifted the Whole group up and began to fly over the city toward the gate, they could just fly Out of the city's shield by force but it was considered disrespectful in a Greenwood family City and custom said they should leave the right way. but Halfway over the city and to the gate a group of Powerful Channelers flew directly in front of them, their presence striking and deep like the valley of death. One was the man from the auction house. Bullzan. he stood between Two Powerful Channelers both Avatar realm and both posed to strike, not hiding their intent at all. They let level and realm waft off of them unbridled to threaten the group. From the way they followed Bullzan it was clear they were Acolytes and were under his command. He must be a very important member of his family to have two such bodyguards with him even in what should be a safe city under the Greenwood protection. "Hand over the Essence, and the Dark inferno Candle." The Short middle aged man said snidely and demanding no delay, he had Sandy brownish hair and Small brown eyes. And his lush thick robe was hanging down past his feet as he flew by the power of his guards. The Acolyte of the Greenwood family spoke for Gabe’s group, he was on par with the stronger Acolyte to the right, but If a real fight started they would probably all die here. Along with some of the city. Avatar realm Channelers were Near Gods. Their blows would destroy mountains if left unchecked. "You would dare stop a Greenwood family Wonderkind, in a Greenwood family City and try to rob him?!" The Acolyte, Lan was his name flew to the front to protect the group. He was shocked beyond belief about this situation, it was a complete disrespect to the Greenwood family name. Malner did the same, flying in front of Gabe though he was by far out matched here. Just one of these Acolytes could rend him in an instant like a ragdoll the totem realm and the avatar realm might be consecutive, but the difference was black and white. "The Greenwood family is no threat to me, They are no threat to anyone anymore. Now do as I say or your family will have another enemy to worry about." Bullzan demanded, he acted as though he was privy to something no’one else knew. Gabe considered his options in this unequal fight, he no longer owned what this man wanted however it was Matthew's. and from the look on the Greenwood Channeler’s face, and Seygo's face as well these cousins were not about to give this man anything. "No." Lan said speaking for his Group. He knew the Greenwood family well enough to know they wouldn't give up anything to a bully. He was already contacting the city authorities, which would be here in seconds. But before he could do anything more the strongest Acolyte Shot forward and Attacked him.

Already on the alert and ready Lan blocked the blow as he simultaneously Erected a twenty foot energy shield around him and his foe, the blast of the impact from the simple block blasting into the shield and stopping dead keeping it from killing those around him as well as a full city block down below them. The two Channelers Immediately began to fight Faster then anyone could see or make out, their moves and speed just a blur of power and energy that thumped and flashed inside the erected shield. The other Acolyte moved to Engage also since it looked like he wouldn’t have to protect Bullzan from the fight but Malner acted fast and slammed a punch into the man's face the moment he saw the acolyte blink, it sent him back about a foot but didn't do any visual harm. Malner then quickly drew the spear from his back and the long bladed pole lit with a powerful green fire. the two started a very one way fight with Malner taking a single blow to his stomach that caused him to cough blood like a fountain. Gabe was impressed, even fighting Both Malner and Lan were still holding the group up as they couldn't fly on their own. But even with his superior skill with the spear Malner was no match for the Avatar realm Channeler and the man grabbed him by the arm and snapped the bone in less then enough time for Maner to even struggle. Gabe could see where the fight was about to go the moment before it even started, and Bullzan was grinning as he only waited for his Acolyte to Finnish so he could take the Bastards Space pouch and run. So far only a single second had gone by and Malner was only alive still because the Acolyte was a Cruel man and enjoyed Malner's Scream of pain a bit too much, in the next second Malner would be dead and they would all be robbed. That is except that the second before this fight started Gabe had held out his his empty hand and sent a mental message to Star-stone. "Star-stone, Dial, Now." the Two seconds it took for that command to follow through were the two seconds that looked like Bullzan was goiong to get his way. The second that followed… While the Acolyte waited just a fraction of a moment longer then he should have grinning at the pain he'd caused the Malner. Malner as iff by someone’s command ducked his head. A Fallen tiger Sundial appeared in Gabe's hand and was instantly activated by his mind and will the very moment it did. A beam of Burning white hot Sun light shot out of the Dial like a ray of Shear spirit energy. The power exerted from it was felt by the whole city, and every beast for miles. it had the same effect that a Deity Realm channeler would have on this fight, that is to say, it ended it completely. It was aimed Perfectly at The Acolyte holding Malner's arm, Malner who had just ducked in the very nick of time, and the Ten inch Beam of unstoppable power cut through the Acolyte’s neck before he could even blink or turn to look, the light this beam blasted was not nearly as slow as normal light and could not be out paced. Gabe drug the beam over as fast as he could with a flick of his hand, the laser going on for miles in the distant sky. the man's neck was cut like a Fruit, all the juices being evaporated the second they came near the beam his head was blasted off like a cork on a wine bottle, then the beam drug over to Bullzan who was too Shocked to react before it cleaved through his stomach as well and suddenly shut off, A new notch at the top of the Dial appearing for this use.

Gabe watched with as both Parts of Bullzan started to fall his upper half leaking blood like a split tomato and his lower half flying off into the distance squirting fluids Gabe didn’t want to see come out of anyone’s body. The headless Acolyte fell with him, both of them were dead long before they hit the ground. Everyone around Gabe was shocked, and the last Acolyte who was with Bullzan stopped Fighting Lan to watch his Partner fall. He Suddenly looked pale, and tried to brake out of the shield around him but took to long before Twelve Avatar Realm Channelers appeared at the scene. their flights leaving trails of colored light behind them. They looked at the party with wide eyes, and one swooped down to pick up the falling bodies. Another two Flew through Lan's weakening shield and grabbed The last Acolyte who had given up fighting. Gabe scratched his head Wondering how he was going to explain this one but glad Malner hadn’t died today. Malner was by all means his most valuable possession and the essence and candle were were nothing in comparison. He would not have used the scarce Sundial for such piddly treasures. Both Seygo and Matthew stared at him and the Fallen tiger sundial with The same expression they would have if the world suddenly exploded. The City officials stared with them. Before Lan started explaining to them what had happened. Lan also looked shocked by the whole thing, but also looked thankful. If not for that dial he as well might have died here. He spared a hateful glance at the dead Bullzan and was glad the criminal had died so mangled.
