Gabe woke after just a few days of treatment, his arms in a gross state of growth where the were jut out to the elbow and the bone was sticking out. Rune bandages kept him from bleeding out even though the wounds were open. And the woman healer was cold and inconsiderate towards him. The pain of having new limbs grow surprised Gabe and when the wind touched his open bones just right it ached like they were being torn off all over. he was certain there was a way to heal him without hurting him so much, Colin knew a dozen different pain relief moves but the woman only prolonged his suffering for the full week. Only spending a few hours healing him each day. Colin and Malner stayed in the house insisting on being near where he was healing, but weren't allowed to visit him but once during his recovery. Gabe got the feeling the women really despised him for some reason but she would never tell him why. It was a new kind of hell having a healer that hated your guts.
Finally as his fingers came back on his new hands that ended his new perfect arms, and his toes were all back in place he was released from bed rest. He met Colin and Malner in the Front hall before the woman kicked them all out of the hole in the wall that was her door. "I am sorry Master that we let you get so brutally wounded." Malner said again as they stepped outside the woman's home. Colin rolled his eyes. "Malner for the fifteenth time already, it wasn't our fault it was the big moron who went out by himself anyway. He should be the one apologizing, risking both our lives again like they were Nothing but Gambling chips." Gabe flinched, for the past week he'd had nothing else to think about but how monumental his screw up was. And the fact Colin was involved in it made his pain seam almost deserved. "I am sorry Colin, I was a fool. A big one. I promise I won't risk your life so easily again." Gabe walked ahead and pushed past them as Colin was struck dumb by the apology, Gabe had never apologized before. Not even once in his whole life for one of the Risks he took. He always offered an insincere remark about how he was Sorry things had to be this way. Not admitting that he had screwed up. "what happened to you out there?" Colin asked again. Gabe didn't look at him. "I'd rather not talk about it." Gabe answered, it was the same answer he had given before. He refused to tell them how he had turned up so ripped apart. And he was always fidgeting now, his eyes darting around like he was confused about where he was. "Are we going to teleport out of here now?" Malner said looking around, he had been a bit anxious the past week. Very aware that the Day-vine Family could send a single one of it's power houses and end all three of them with ease if they were found here. It was one of the reasons he hadn't let the Healer leave her house the past week not even to buy a new door, he didn't want her to tell anyone they were here. She obeyed partly from fear, partly from her greed, but wholly unhappy about it. Sending messages to her loved ones that she was on a weak long meditation and they shouldn’t visit for a time. "What's happened to the city?" Gabe said without an answer, they stood at the gate of the woman's large estate, and Gabe's soul sense reached out quite a ways to find a much smaller population then he expected. Maybe it was just the area they were in, but everyone here seamed poorer and much less happy then when he left this was after all the same city he’d been to the auction at before. "The Healer spoke of war." Malner said. Colin rolled his eyes. "Are we going to leave before we get in trouble Gabe?" He already had a feeling they wouldn't. Gabe shook his head, he was acting strangely. Distant somehow, but was that was to be expected from someone who had been torn limb from limb. "Malner, hurry. Take us to Gelgar's Mansion in the jungle." Gabe ordered out of the blue. Malner sighed about staying out here in the open, but followed orders anyway. The three were taken back into the air and rocketed in the right direction.
Gabe knew he wasn't right in the head. He could feel it, deep in his mind there was a desire for violence. A hatred that burned erratically, he felt like lashing out. Screaming, shouting, burning the world. It was small now, just a tadpole but it was dangerous. He knew what being controlled felt like, and this part of him wanted to take control. that thing whatever it was, had embedded itself into his mind. The Archdevil’s power far to strong for even a healer to fix it. It should have made him lose his mind already But he was too strong, his mind was like steal after so many years of torment. A child's mind is a very adaptable thing, and his had been forced to strengthen itself and learn since he was six. He held back the Anger with little effort now, but he needed to kill it quickly or it might get the chance to grow like a seed. And once it laid roots it would be hard to pluck, already he knew it was changing him forever. He we was a different man then he was yesterday. As they flew he looked at both his hands in front of his face, the flesh on them smooth and soft, his arms were hairless still. He clenched them into tight fists and just looked at his new appendages. There was nothing like losing an arm that would make you appreciate it more. He had lost both, and crawled through his own blood to save himself. He thanked the heavens for his talent with runes, but the scar of it all would be like a bur in his memories forever, and the insanity he felt was latching on to this moment to drive him into a world where everything felt different. More cruel and painful, more bleak and lonely. He fought of the urge to retreat into his mind like a scared infant knowing that would be the moment he broke and the madness would fall upon him. He hadn't gone into his soul room yet to get rid of the Bastard he was bonded with now, he wasn't ready to even look at the Monster yet. But he would be. Soon he would be ready for anything. He just needed time.
they flew to the door step of the Giant mansion surrounded by the Low quality Treasure land jungle, and Gabe knocked on the Tall wooden doors. It took a minute before someone answered. "Oh! Mister Gabriel!" A mundane servant said recognizing him. Gabe pushed passed the slightly plump woman and stepped into the home. "You can't be here!" She shouted but he Colin and Malner ignored her and simply entered the house. "Guards!!!" She screamed and a powerful Acolyte of the family flew into the room within a second. "Lan." Gabe said with a nod. Lan looked at him with a curious expression. "You three must have some balls to return here. Why?" Gabe looked around at the still beautiful house. Gelgar's wife was a good decorator. "We came to check on the family. I've heard about some kind of war, but I've been away too far to hear any news of it." Lan's eyebrows rose. "You haven't heard? The Greenwood family is still fighting with Both the Burning-Heart League and also the Golden-Chaos family. All our allies are pulling away from us, never really standing with us anyway. We've lost thousands, maybe tens of thousands of our strongest. Gelgar has taken front line duty for his honor, And all the other house Acolytes have gone with him." Gabe flinched inwardly at the news, he figured the family was having trouble from the way things had gone while he was here, but this sounded bad. Had they really been on the brink just so short a time ago. Warring with two powers of the world, almost completely alone. "What of Vernon?" Gabe asked. Lan frowned. "Vernon... died an honorable death." Gabe's mostly firm expression turned into a deep frown. A power like Vernon lost, a good man and a Strong Chaneler. Gabe felt his insanity try to use this as a key moment, but it found no footing. He held back his emotions well even against this horrible news. "Are Matthew and Seygo home? Can I see them?" Lan shook his head. "Matthew is at the Grayhawk league, training as hard as I've ever seen him. His father is also fighting and his mother as well. And after losing so many in the last family war I think he is Scared for them so he pushes himself far too hard." Gabe looked at Lan oddly, he saw a hint of something that scared him in the man's eyes. A hesitation, and when combined with what he had not mentioned Gabe felt his heart beat quicken. "What aren't you telling me? Where's Seygo?" He had long come to terms with the idea she might marry another, his bad reputation with a powerful Family might keep him from her forever. If that was the case then so be it, as long as she found happiness what claim did he have on her? "Gabriel... she's Gone." The words were like ice pored down Gabe's chest and into his stomach. He shivered slightly. "Dead?" He whispered. Lan shook his head. "We aren't sure, all we know is that the Wooden-Thunder family took her and we can't Find her. They waited until the war was completely consuming our resources, then tried to make it look like the Golden-Chaos family had stolen her. But we found out it was them, an Acolyte recognized the cloaking move they used, a Wooden-thunder family secret technique. The whole family is at arms about it, but We are already at war with Two Different Powers, they knew we couldn't retaliate. Deals have been struck to pay to get her back but the dam bastard won't even admit they took her, or tell us why they did it." Gabe snarled as he heard what had happened hate filling his veins like thick sap, but he realized he was giving ground to his rage and insanity, so he forced it to stop dead. At least she still had some chance of being alive, he felt like his heart might as well be ripped out of his chest and crushed if she was gone for good. His need to be around her had only grown since he'd been away. He had many times thought of sneaking back over the years, but didn't know if she would accept him or even be happy to see him. The situation was too complex.

"Thank you Lan, we will be going now. If you see Gelgar tell him he has allies in us. And that he can message me if he's ever in need." Gabe said showing the ring Matthew had given him. Lan smiled. "I will do that, i assume you also want me to keep this secret from the Day-vine Family?" Gabe grinned. "No need, they won't be able to find us. Let Gelgar tell if he thinks it will keep good relations up with them. I would hate for you to gain another enemy because of me." Lan nodded. "I'll take your confidence as a sure thing. Goodbye Mister Gabriel. I'll also Talk to Matthew about your visit, he was very worried for you after you left. And hasn't been happy since Seygo was taken. This just might bring some light into his eyes again." Gabe nodded solemnly. "Tell him if Seygo is alive then he will see her before the year is out. That I stake my word as a Hellvine and friend on it." Lan's Eyes went wide. He had an extreme amount of belief in this Young man, after watching Gabe pull a Heavenly treasure out of his butt like a Dammed magician and kill two Channelers many realms above him in power, one at the Avatar realm. Then knowing for a fact that even after frantic search missions and bringing in powerful Foreseers who could even tell the future the Day-vine Family was at an utter loss for where the Man was or even his general location. And now for him to show up spontaneously without a scratch on him like he wasn’t being hunted at all. Not to mention he was now giving of the Signature of a Champion Realm channeller though he was still quite young, Lan was half convinced by Gabe’s bold claim. As impossible as it sounded, Maybe he had more backing then he let show. Heck he was still walking around with that Totem realm Channeler who acted like he owed Gabe a life debt. "I'll tell him you said it, but if you can pull that off then you'll have my gratitude forever. Heck I'll give you my left arm if you want it. The family has been distraught about losing it's finest talent in generations since we lost her. No'one will forget a favor like bringing her back It would be akin to restoring all of our Family Honer." Gabe looked at the very loyal Acolyte with a bit of awe at the man's sincerity, maybe some of the things he heard from the Greenwood family Acolytes hadn't been Gelgar's trying to convince him to become one. "You don't have to convince me. I owe this family a great deal, she'll be found. Even If it takes me every iota of power I have."
