Chapter 9

It was a sunny day although the weather was still cold for the short time it had been dawn.

The light came through Oliver's window and hit his face, making him wake up and look at the ceiling as a strange sensation came to mind along with the thought.

'Something is wrong...'

Oliver sat on his bed and felt his body lighter, in addition to feeling much more energetic and energetic despite having slept just over 4 hours.

Still with that strangeness, he would get up and notice that all the pain in his body had disappeared, until he looked to the side and noticed his relics that he had placed on top of the nightstand.

With a light sigh, he lowered his eyebrows in relief as he thought.

'That good deed did me good mentally, but the effect on my body was even greater...' Oliver rubbed his chin as he looked at the weapons on his nightstand. ‘Even though I stayed up late, it seems like I slept 7 or 8 hours without interruption, was it because I fulfilled their wishes?’

He looked at the clock and noticed that it was still 6am, he woke up much earlier and still felt refreshed and made him look out the window while sighing.

All that calm brought a pleasant sensation, little by little his senses were awakening and he realized that they were more refined.

Even from the fifth floor, he could easily hear the conversation of people walking calmly down the street and some birds that occasionally passed over the building.

Even from a distance he could see better and he thought again.

‘In this silence it seems like I hear everything.’

Soon he would move his body away from the window and stretch, creaking as he looked ahead and thought.

'Doing what the relics want also seems to bring something good to me, but she said I became stronger...' When he looked in the mirror, he didn't notice any physical differences, but he remembered the power of his punches last night , making him face the mirror and then the relics. ‘There’s only one way to find out.’

After a short while, he would go to the bathroom and get ready for his usual study and work routine.

All that energy was able to influence his work and studies, his concentration was greater and because he was rested, his performance also improved, managing to compensate for the next day.

In the end, that day passed quickly and there was time for Oliver to go home and change his clothes.

After putting on a white shirt and pants, he walked through the streets with his cell phone in his hands, heading towards the same store where he had bought the coffee the day before.

'That guy said it wasn't the only store that suffered from those guys, so there must be more than I realize there-'

He was walking in a slightly richer part of his city and noticed the streets were a little brighter.

Oliver raised his eyebrows realizing that it wasn't a place he normally went to and that caught his attention, while making him wonder.

‘Of all the paths, why this one?’

However, before he got an answer, a sharp sound of glass breaking was heard and Oliver looked in the direction the sound was coming from.

He realized that it wasn't the street he was on but one a little further away, little by little the sounds became more chaotic and he could clearly hear the sound of people running and shouting, causing him to pull his backpack with one hand as he started. a race.

‘I better hurry.’

Heading towards the sound, he crossed a few corners, stopping at one just before where he had heard the glass breaking.

Peeking around the corner of the wall, he noticed that in his field of vision there was a jewelry store with broken glass and inside there were some people.

Oliver squinted his eyes and saw that they were men in black clothes and balaclavas to cover their faces, some were armed with knives and pistols that were pointing inside the store, where he could clearly hear screams and threats.

Seeing the pistol made him look suspicious, but then he thought.

‘This extra strength better not disappoint me.’

He walked away from there and soon the criminals who were inside the store started running carrying bags that seemed to be full of money and jewelry.

The team quickly got into a car that sped away from the jewelry store and the salesman left in a hurry while trying to call the police, however, when he looked at the street he only saw a green line passing quickly following the same destination as the car.

Time passed and returning to the simplest region of the city, the car was at an average speed, until the vehicle entered a parking lot, stopping and opening the doors and men dressed in black soon emerged.

When they got out of the car, everyone's tone of voice seemed excited as they raised their balaclavas saying.

The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

“It took weeks, but we did it, let’s just say this, split up and disappear to enjoy our vacation.”

The person speaking was the one previously carrying the pistol, he was smiling while the others nodded in the same spirit and agreed.

In the distance it was possible to hear police sirens and they still looked with a smile on their faces, but soon they noticed a person wearing a green cape and hood walking towards them while holding a bow.

Some wondered.

"What the fuck?"

However, the leader squinted suspiciously, knowing that he had already seen that image somewhere.

The boy in the green cloak walked slowly, but before they could react, he disappeared.

Silence took over the place as the robbers looked on with doubt, wondering what had happened, but soon they heard a scream being interrupted, followed by a bang that made everyone look in one direction.

Everyone saw one fly against the car, hitting the door violently and falling to the ground, unconscious, while salivating at the mouth, already passed out.

Everyone in the group still took a while to assimilate until the same hooded man came with one leg raised, having just kicked while still maintaining his posture.

Wasting no time, they grabbed their weapons, still scared while Oliver showed a smile under his hood.

‘I’m going to have more difficulty controlling myself now. What a pain in the ass.’

In the end, Oliver smiled and once again he advanced and his next target was also unable to react, a blow with the bow hit his face and pushed his head back, causing him to be thrown back and fall, dragging on the ground.

However, Oliver's eyes widened when he heard the sound of cocking next to him.

With a quick movement, Oliver lowered himself and the shot was fired.

The shot broke the car window and when he turned around, Oliver saw the same criminal with the pistol as before, still looking scared, but aiming again ready to shoot.

Oliver clicked his tongue and jumped to the side where another shot missed, irritating the bandit who saw the hooded man jumping to the sides as he moved.

Thanks to Oliver's speed, the bandit couldn't keep up with his aim, causing most of his shots to miss as sounds echoed through the parking lot.

That boy's speed surprised the leader, who opened his eyes wide in disbelief, concluding.

‘It’s that vigilant-’

But soon he felt his wrist being grabbed with an absurd force that made him grunt and see the boy with the green cape next to him.

His eyes seemed to glow bright green as he looked seriously while squeezing his wrist tighter and tighter, which screamed in pain from the pressure Oliver was exerting.

Oliver kicked the leader in the abdomen as he fell to his knees and soon received another kick to his face, again throwing and knocking out another criminal.

The pistol fell to the ground and Oliver looked directly at it, making the other bandits who hadn't attacked yet look in surprise and wide-eyed, looking terrified.

Seeing that, Oliver kicked the pistol away from them and walked slowly towards the bandits who seemed even more nervous, quickly turning around and starting to flee.

But soon the two saw a green shadow pass in front of them, causing more screams and banging sounds to echo in the environment.

Finally the sounds silenced and Oliver was standing in front of the two bandits who tried to escape, but who were now passed out.

'This way, this bow will be more useful as a club.' Oliver thought with a smile as he swung his bow on his shoulder. ‘Even though I’m terrible at fighting, when I’m stronger it’s more fun.’

With a relieved sigh, he noticed that everyone else remained on the ground passed out, until he began to hear a siren sound.

‘I could have heard the shots, I better get it quickly.’

Oliver crouched down and went to the bandits to take all the bags.

Time passed again and now far away, Oliver was walking on a sidewalk with his backpack much heavier than before.

He turned and saw the parking lot in the distance with the red and blue glow of the sirens there, causing Oliver to give a short laugh as he turned again and headed back home.

‘They’ll go to jail from there, so I have nothing to worry about.’

After a few alleys, he finally found one so he could change and with some difficulty he managed to hide his cape and bow inside his backpack.

He would return home after a few hours and go up to his room, leaving his backpack on the bed and taking out his relics to store them.

When he slightly opened the backpack's zipper, he could soon see sparkles of jewels and some larger bills stored inside it, filling the bottom of the backpack as he still looked in surprise.

With a long sigh of relief, he soon began to take out the money while thinking.

‘With this money I can feed them for a while, without having to go after more bandits. So I focus on my search and finish my investigation into those two swordsmen.' Oliver was taking out the money and saw a pile of banknotes piled up next to jewels, even though he didn't know how much the jewels were worth, in the end it was enough money to make look in surprise as he thought. ‘I don’t think I’ve ever held so much money in my life...’

Oliver picked up some bills to count and then returned the backpack, leaving it organized and saying that there were almost 10 thousand dollars there without counting the jewelry.

With all that amount, he wondered how he was going to spend it all just on food and clothes, making him think that even with a whole week of feeding them, there would still be plenty left.

Little by little images of what he could do with all that money appeared in his mind, even simple changes like changing buildings or switching to better technology devices made him think.

‘This old notebook of mine deserves an upgrade... or at least a much more expensive brother...’

In the end, Oliver looked at the money and then at the relics with a doubt lingering in his mind, making him cross his arms and frown as he thought about whether he should do it or not.

However, after a few minutes of sitting on his bed in front of the money, Oliver was already uncomfortable and sighed in conclusion.

'Just a little.'

He would leave some hidden at home and take a good amount to go to the store to buy lunch boxes, along with simple clothes and blankets.

Once again he arrived at the park and the beggars recognized him and tried to greet him, but unlike before, he just gave them lunch boxes and blankets, saying goodbye quickly and with a smile.

With the money he had brought he had set aside some so he could go to a computer store to buy a new notebook so he could help with his research, along with some accessories and in the end he returned home satisfied carrying several boxes.

In the end, he was happier to have helped the beggars again, but it wasn't nearly the best part.

After a few more hours of research that still didn't show any significant progress, Oliver went to sleep and woke up the next day with the alarm going off.

The moment he opened his eyes, he already noticed the difference compared to the day before.

‘There’s something strange…’

This time he felt headaches and pains throughout his body, his energy from yesterday was gone and he already understood the reason for it in a few seconds, making him look at the ceiling in discomfort while grumbling.

"It was too good to be true..."
