After a few days since the discovery of the gunman, Oliver was in front of his mirror in the morning, shortly before he had to go to college.
He extended his two arms upwards and began to stretch, going to one side only with his torso at a slower pace.
After a few seconds he threw his body forward and touched his toes, making him squint his eyes as he thought.
'Just a little more...'
Soon after, he stood up and lifted his shirt while looking in the mirror, his body looked fine and there were no longer any marks from his confrontations with the vampires, making him conclude.
'In visual terms I'm fine, my arms don't hurt anymore, but when I move my torso it still hurts a little. I'll just follow the medication routine for today and tomorrow night I'll return to activities.' After that, he lowered his shirt and picked up his backpack as he walked to the bus stop towards his college. 'Since the gunman has just arrived in town, I imagine he still doesn't know that I'm the vigilante. Maybe I came here for him or for some other reason, but it doesn't matter.'
As he headed toward college, time seemed to pass faster.
In the cafeteria, once again he waited for the blonde to return with a tray of hamburgers and a glass of coffee, but again his wait proved unproductive and after eating he went to the classroom.
Since then he had been unable to find any more information or crimes about the gunman, his area of activity was throughout the city, making it difficult to pinpoint an exact area where he was located.
After the end of class, Oliver once again searched for more information on the television station's computer, in the end finding only common news that didn't catch his attention and that didn't seem to be the gunman's doing.
'I'm not going to find him like that, but I expected that.' No matter how much he looked, there were still no new reports that linked the gunman during the entire working day, at the end of the day Oliver walked thoughtfully while saying to himself. 'Now that I'm recovered, I'm going to prioritize trying to find him when I'm on guard duty. I still haven't found a similarity between the victims, so the only way for now is to go looking...'
Walking towards the exit of the station, he remembered that nearby was the park where he had been attacked by swordsmen as soon as he obtained the relic.
Since then he hadn't been there and there was a bus stop there so he could go home.
Oliver shrugged calmly and changed his route, heading towards the park while rambling.
‘It was my first confrontation, since then I learned to use the relics better and I didn’t see news about anything that happened in the park’ As he approached the park, he soon saw the bus stop that clashed with the environment full of trees and grass. ‘They must not have noticed after all.’
The time was close to the time the fight occurred, and as soon as he arrived at the park street, he wondered.
'What is that?'
Looking at the park, he could clearly feel a strange and cold wind passing over his face.
That day he hadn't felt anything, but now the place seemed to be filled with pressure that made him uncomfortable.
Passing his eyes over the branches of the tree and the surroundings, he noticed that the environment seemed much quieter, even though it wasn't so late.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
With all the strangeness in the environment, Oliver squinted his eyes trying to find something that could be causing it, however, contradicting what he thought he would find, he saw in front of him only a group of university students deeper into the park.
He looked and noticed that there were some young men and women planting trees, even from a distance, Oliver could see their confused looks and soon lost his serious expression while scratching the back of his head.
‘What the fuck am I doing?’ Oliver turned around awkwardly and scratched the back of his head, sitting at the bus stop with his back to the group as he thought. 'I've been trying hard all week not to look strange and almost get into trouble...'
For some time he waited for the bus and got on the first one heading home, still confused as he thought.
‘What a mistake.’
When he got home, Oliver would go to his bed and place the notebook on his lap while he thought.
‘I need some areas to look, since I started recovery, he stopped acting up. Which makes me think he was the hooded one who was watching me during the attacks.'
Even if it was a logical conclusion, he still knew that in all this time he hadn't been attacked, there was no reason why the gunman wouldn't have taken advantage during the fight, which made Oliver stare at the laptop screen with a frown. .
Little by little he marked the places where the gunman attacked throughout the city, leaving the mark and doing the same with his cell phone.
In the end, he just stretched his arms, reaching his ribs, feeling only traces of pain, causing him to lower his eyebrows as he thought.
‘Tomorrow I will look for him, I need to get some advantage soon.’
It was his thought before bed as he thought about what he would do the next day.
Heading towards college, Oliver had his head down and a serious look as he walked with his hands inside his coat.
Arriving at the college entrance, he went straight to the cafeteria, reaching the table he always sat at and leaving his notebook on top.
Looking for the blonde had already been put aside and he was just checking the places where the gunman had attacked.
The region of operation was throughout the city and with random distances based on the date the bodies were found, there was no obvious pattern no matter how hard Oliver looked.
The result made Oliver frown and press his fist to his cheek, it would probably be another day without new information.
However, unlike usual, he saw a glimpse of a person approaching.
With his finger on the notebook's D-Pad, he subtly moved back and forth to the television station's reporting page so he could disguise what he was doing.
The person sat in front of him and caught Oliver's attention, who was still looking with his fist pressed against his cheek.
He saw a girl with tanned skin and long black hair, she was wearing a dress with a jacket over it and wearing colorful earrings with a pattern that seemed to be somehow indigenous.
Noticing the earring, Oliver remembered seeing it the day before and was soon able to remember that the same girl was planting the trees the day before, remembering that she had also been the one who was apprehensive and now seemed more serious, although it was still possible to notice a certain fear.
Oliver was about to speak, but the girl interrupted and said in a lower tone.
“You were staring too much, I know you noticed, so don’t tell anyone.”
Her tone was clear despite containing a certain amount of nervousness as she looked at Oliver.
For a moment he wondered what she meant and who she was, but soon he remembered the aura that the park emanated, making him squint his eyes as he listened.
But soon after, he removed his fist from his own face and sat upright, breathing deeply and talking.
“I know, I wouldn’t gain anything from it. Besides, I owe you one, don’t I?”
Oliver gave a slight smile and sat down correctly, in response the girl sighed and said.
“I warned you when you were attracting too much attention and you didn't listen to me, even when that guy was about to rip your throat out, don't you think it's time to get out of it?”
When he listened, Oliver maintained a slight smile that gradually returned to seriousness as he continued to stare at the girl who continued to speak, but his mind was elsewhere.
‘So it was her...’
In Oliver's mind, he had brief lapses of memories where he remembered the day he had received the letter, and she saw me being attacked by the vampire, while wondering about her being the hooded one.
Little by little he connected the dots and thought about the two hooded men he had found thinking it was her while still staring at the girl, who remained with a serious look.
For a brief moment, Oliver smiled and thought.
‘I found a relic user.’
