Chapter 94
Looking at the two that advanced I could honestly say I am surprised. Haru managed to stand his ground against another one of the knights while Shara overwhelmed her opponent in mere seconds. After all, she was a fallen archangel with immense strength.
Once the second duel ended, Haru pocketed another item from the knights and folded back.
“That is it for me, I don’t think I can do another one.” He said huffing from overexertion
“Sigh, we should hurry up, we are just wasting time here,” said Vendir as he moved forward.
“I will take the rest of you on, come!” he said
The seven remaining knights moved forward.
“Defile!” roared Vendir, apparently he really likes using that thorn ability of his.
The moment the knights stood forward hundreds of black branches emerged from underground chasing the knights.
Two knights were instantly impaled and were unable to move a muscle, the rest dodged with ease and folded back. The two impaled knights couldn’t move and Vendire shouted once again
“Corrupt!” the veins retreated into the knight’s body and they began to shudder.
The remaining five knights stood bewildered but immediately took a defensive formation once the shuddering of their brethren ended.
Roots were protruding from their bodies, while they looked to be moving with great difficulty.
The two knights with roots on them then abruptly stopped, they then turned around and faced the remaining five.
Vendir moved his hand and the two knights charged forward attacking their allies. Their movements looked somewhat slow but they were clearly being controlled.
The moment the two controlled knights collided with their foes, a fierce fight began. The original knights began grunting as if trying to speak with their brethren but they didn’t answer back, their bodies were no longer theirs.
The first controlled knights struck down with his blade. While his foe tried to guard. However, the strength the controlled knight showed was much greater than his enemy as his blade crushed his enemies arm and cut down through his helmet killing him instantly.
The other four knights looked a bit stunned but decided to group. It was now four against two
“They are not your only enemies,” said Vendir as he summoned more veins to harass the other four.
In mere seconds all the remaining seven warriors were defeated.
Well, it seems that doing a heavenly dungeon with a party is much easier than going solo…
Once all ten warriors were defeated Haru went about collecting all the armors that they dropped ending up with two sets.
“These things look rather nice!” said Haru as he equipped a set.
It fitted perfectly as he looked like a dark knight.
“Hmm, the stats on this are amazing, too bad they are poorly designed to withstand light element based attacks but they give a good amount of Hp. The shield and sword, however, are not better than what I have.” Said Haru as he discarded the shield and sword and kept the ice hammer and the phoenix shield.
“Lets move, no need to remain here anymore. If someone of the divine intervenes while we are still ascending the dungeon we might get in trouble,” I said
“You don’t need to worry about that, except the divine that guards the seven floors none can enter this place. At most the resistance from the divide that we will meet will be at the exit of this dungeon which is on the top floor” said Shara.
“I will not need to hope that our presence has not been noticed by them now do I?” I said with a sneer.
“Yes, the moment anyone steps in, the upper realm know of it. we will be meeting with heavy resistance, I hope that plan of your work” said Shara.
“Don’t worry, it will work,” I said as I moved forward.
Once before the stairs to the giant dwelling of the serpent god the mountain shook.
“Who dares disturb this land!” roared an angry voice as dark clouds gathered on the mountain.
“Ah so typical…” said Haru “Now the boss will appear and he will start nagging about how we are so unworthy and all the stereotypical bullshit, then he will be hammered and lose while giving us a warning that the boss after him will be much stronger and will be our end” he said with a sigh.
The clours swirled and coiled as an enormous shape came into existence.
It was enormous, more than thousands of meters long and hundreds of width. The moment it appeared it its body emerged. It was a giant black snake that had yellow pupils, its fangs were at least a dozen meters long while its end was nowhere in sight.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Its body was smooth, while its scales looked lustrous, it had several wings on it that would slowly flap keeping the beast afloat.
Oroboros
Level 2520
Class
Lesser Divine.
15 000 000Hp
A snake of immense length claimed to be the end of everything, a devourer of worlds that climbed its way to divinity by eating any that opposed it. forever hungered and forever proud.
“Oh, the snake of infinity…” said Misaka
“You know about this?” I asked
“Well in our world it was said that this snake represents immortality, it was a powerful being that consumed the world than finding nothing else to eat, it started by gnawing its tail.” Said Misaka with a shrug
“What a stupid myth…” I said as I looked up at the sheer size of this being.
“It is far too feeble for being something that could eat words,” said Nemu
“Indeed. I don’t really think it deserves that title or this honor…Nemu was much stronger and had an even higher level how come you were not elevated to a divine class?” I asked
“We dragons level up without doing anything, the longer we live the stronger we become. I wouldn’t be surprised to find more dragons here, as for why I was not chosen, it must be due to my nature. I would lose my mind the older I become, and I don’t think those beings will bear a maddened dragon rampaging in this place” he said without looking the least bit concerned about the snake that was covering the sky.
“You guys seem to have grown some balls, I seriously thought that you might be frightened of fighting this…” I said
“Ah, we have been through many things. Actually, I am too finding it quite strange that I don’t feel the least bit pressed or frightened against such a being” said Haruka with a shrug.
“Your companions have grown stronger herald.” Said Vendir as he smirked.
“Listen here snake,” I said “You would be better off letting us pass to the next circle, fighting us will only get you killed and make us more powerful. Should you let us pass we will act like nothing happened and you can keep doing your thing here” I said as I looked at the pale-faced devotees.
“Such insolence!” said the snake as it opened its mouth. Gathering the dark smoke and shooting it down.
I flew forward using shadow step and intercepted it with my body.
The moment the smoke came in contact it was consumed by me.
Magic mastery and 100% dark magic resistance sure do come in handy.
The snake looked stunned for a moment before it said
“How!”
“What I find strange is that how can someone that claims to be of the divine be using dark magic, it seems that being a divine has nothing to do with magic ability but rather status or subordination if you are strong you get to become one of them it seems, or if you are subordinated to another stronger divine… now, snake, if this is all of your power then I advise you to back off. If not” I said as I grinned “Then I guess I will have to make some really expensive snake leather boots and purses for the ladies down there” I said.
The girls had a sudden realization and their eyes flashed with understanding. Though they lived their lives in luxury, it seems that a purse made from a dragon snake’s leather is something they would do anything to have.
The snake took a step back, well it just pulled its head back and pondered for a moment before it said.
“I- I don’t really think I should let you go. If you go up then I will be punished by the divine”
“Don’t worry about that, I will take care of them,” I said with a wolfish smile.
The snake looked at the rest of my party and had a bit of a surprise on his face.
“Your companions… I was surprised that they managed to defeat my guards first… though they were much lower level… it seems that level is not a limit to your abilities… very well you can climb…” he said then yellow light shot from its eyes and a huge golden gate opened in the distance.
That is the passage to the Upper Level. I will be needing to make an excuse for myself if you fail to achieve your goal… sigh…” said the snake as it disappeared in the clouds.
You have been granted access to the upper heavenly level.
Circle of forgiveness: clear
All reward shall be handed to you once you exit the dungeon
Boss level has not been killed,
Bonus reward has been omitted.
“Well, that certainly went off script…” said Haru.
“It seems that this snake is rather smart… I really thought that he will attack, actually I really wanted to see what he is capable off but it is rather pointless now. Anyway, let's go” I said as I headed towards the gate.
Once we stepped toward the gate, a bright light shone and the scenery changed.
You have entered the second level of the heavenly dungeon.
Circle of judgment.
Once inside I saw a strange world. Everything was dark grey, the floor was closed as steel and the sky was grim. It was an enormous smooth platform, not a single strand of grass would grow however it had tens of thousands of various weapons of different sizes and shapes sprung around everywhere stuck to the floor like they were the tombs of fallen warriors…
Looking around us and what I saw was that instead of hills or mountains, there was a lone tower right before us. It looked far too great and far too majestic.
“This is… iron?” said Vendir.
A moment later a man crashed down before us. He was about two meters long with a dark sin tone. He was muscular. No muscular would be an understatement, he was so perfectly proportioned with just the right amount of muscles that if one were to see him, they would think that he was chiseled with a sharp knife.
The man had tribal tattoos on him while a bandana of steel was wrapped around his forehead.
He wore nothing but a wrap around his waist. The man had a giant weapon on his right hand was a giant rusted machete.
Ogun
Lord of metal
Class ‘Lesser god’
Boss
***
Level ????
Weapon master, lord of blades, and ruler of metal. Ogun was said to be one of the most vicious and barbaric to have ever lived. What lies behind his calm nature is a deep hatred to anything that fears.
“Today you shall be judged,” said the man with a voice that shuddered the floor. Waves were visible on the hard floor and that was only his voice…
Seven giant swords came down crashing behind each and every one of us. Not to attack us but served another purpose
You shall be judged by the Lord of metal.
Prove your worth and you may leave this place.
Fail and only death awaits.
“Death? Heh, I would like to see him try…”
