Chapter 6
Taking the advice of Lilith we gathered as much food as we could and went ahead riding on Nemu’s back. The army of the dead that I left had yet to be of use, as it appears the state of affairs remained unchanged even after two days of our ‘return’ from our world.
Haruna decided that she wanted to remain with Lilith. She thought that there was no point in her going with us, while the elven princess went back to her home after having asked her to send a message to her people, my mission had officially started and I aim to fully complete it.
The message was to ask them to renounce their faith if they had any, though I knew that the elves only worship nature, I fear that it may have one of the divines as a personification of nature.
Though I know that they will not accept it, I just need to destabilize their belief, after that, I just need to show them that it is useless and their benefactor as they believe it to be is of no use to them.
People need to be freed from the shackles of blind religion and blind faith.
“Herald, this is where I shall leave you, head north of here and you shall find what you seek, call upon me once your mission is over and I will come pick you up…”
“Thank you Nemu, I will be sure to do so… I hope that this event ends without much trouble… but I highly doubt it… anyway, guys, this is the last time I ask, do you truly want to come with me? there is a huge chance that you might die if Abaddon decides to be aggressive, and even more if Pestilence decides to intervene… I am here for a conversation but I don’t think it will be as simple as that.”
“Don’t worry mate,” said Haru “I am with you until death do us part, eh?” he added
“You guys sound like newly weds…” said Haruka in a cynic manner
“Well, that’s the spirit, let's go then,” I said as Nemu dropped us down and left while roaring to the skies.
Looking further ahead I saw a desert made of ice and snow.
The weather must have felt cold but the infernal heat within me made it harmless. Looking at my companions donning their armor they didn’t seem to be feeling the cold as well but I doubt this will be the case if we go deeper in the mountain range.
For Haru however
“Holy fucking shit this is cold!”
Yep, the guy has yet to have an armor of his.
“Hmm…I have an idea, I said” igniting the chains within me and increasing the heat around me the weather felt much warmer.
“Damn, this is much better, what did you do?” asked Haru
“Just basic heat and fire manipulation, staying close to me will make you feel warmer, but this is just a temporary solution, the deeper we go north, the more ice and snow there will be, and the heat within me will melt most of the surrounding snow and make it harder to move forward. Once it's night-time I will try and make you something to wear.”
“Thank you man, that means a lot, but do you have a smithing skill? I mean I know that the armors you guys are wearing is top notch and made by a legendary blacksmith, but you never said you were a craftsman.”
“No, not me, but don’t worry about that.”
“Alright…” said Haru with a questioning tone.
The four of us walked forward, unbothered by the coldness of the air while still paying attention to anything that might emerge from this god forsaken land. I knew that this place harbors many monsters and beasts, some even surpassed the millennial level so going in without care is a not much of a smart idea.
“Who is this Abbadon you speak about Haru?” asked Misaka who was following behind us
“I have no idea who he is, but it seems that he is some sort of demigod. I met him in hell and he challenged me to meet them in the mountain of glory.”
“But that doesn’t make sense, aren’t you just going there without a plan? I mean what guarantees that he will tell you of a way for you to defeat these said gods? I mean he is one of them right?”
“True, but that is all I have at the moment. After having taken a look at the documents and books from the Sranvur, most of them were useless to my quest, and only one of the divine can tell me of their secrets, that is of course if he agrees to it…
“We will cross that bridge once we reach it.”
So far the road we took seems harmless, we remained unbothered by the hidden monsters within the snow, mainly due to their fear of my status as an ascendant, but I doubt this will be the case once we meet another one of these ascendants.
“The night will fall down soon, and I don’t think that there is a good sport to spend the night in these open plains, what do you suggest we do Daiki?” said Haru who seemed to be looking for some sort of shelter.
“I don’t know, I thought about making an ice dome but it will melt the moment I get inside…”
“So we will be spending the night in the open…” he replied
Stolen story; please report.
“Well, that is the only thing we can do right now… I can’t handle every single variable dude”
“It's alright man, there is no problem with spending the night outside.”
“Not outside I have a better idea,” I said
“Glory of the dark inferno!”

The surrounding snow instantly melted while dark flames rose high above covering us in an infernal black dome that was lit by four piers of trembling flame.
The heat of the place we were in rose and the growing annoyance of cold disappeared.
“What the hell! You had such a strong spell?”
I only smirked at his question while I summoned a corpse from the ground
“Soul bind”
The undead man’s corps stood tall inspecting the surrounding,
“Master, thank you for calling me once again”
I nodded to the man and asked him
“I need you to make me another armor set, something that could resist the cold and would do well against plagues, poisons and diseases.”
“It shouldn’t be difficult as long as I have the required resources,”
“What would you need to make the best equipment”
“Mostly just Ice Yeti pelts and their bones, pure water, and some leather, I have seen through your eyes that we are on the northern side of the world, all of what I require is here, I can even upgrade your old equipment to resist the cold if you could allow me.”
“You have my permission, I shall be leaving to get what you need, you can all remain here I will be back soon,” I said then left the perimeter of my own spell.
I knew that as long as I will it to remain the territorial skill will not dissipate, it will serve as a great way for the guys to spend a safe night while I am away, I don’t believe that anything will be stupid enough to go inside.
Using soul detection I saw hundreds of hidden soul forces that were by no mean weak, they were the Yetis that I was looking for, though a bit far, but nothing a few Abyssal walks couldn’t take care of.
Once above one of the hidden souls within the ice I used a soul eruption to blow up the whole perimeter. Snow ice and stone were upheaved while a screaming monster blew up along them.
A Yeti showed up, it looked like a giant gorilla of about four meters tall, with white fur and two enormous red eyes, it had a nose that was pressed into his face and four rows of sharp teeth that were looking forward to having a piece of me.
Its left arm was ripped out, probably from the explosion and blood seemed to be pouring out.
Signes of burn and pain were all over it.
Snow Yeti.

They are weak to fire.

Looking at his left arm I was amazed by what happened next. His flesh and bone grew back at an instantaneous rate. It swung its arm left and right and looked at me while it growled.
It then began thumping on its chest and roared out.
I sensed movement in the snow around me as this call is probably to notify the rest of this Yeti’s distress.
Jumping forward, I dodged a swipe of its enormous right arm while spinning my chains around his neck. It tried to remove them but the burning heat would only singe its fingers forcing it to further suffer more pain.
And with a sudden pull of my hands
Snow Yeti suffered Fatal damage.
+ 120 000Xp
Its head rolled down the white snow making it turn to a crimson red, the blood of a snow yeti seemed hotter than boiling water as it melted the snow that it spread across.
Multiples roars resounded through the white space as more of these creatures decided to leave their hiding. Probably wanting to avenge their fallen comrade. How mistaken will they be once they see the reason for its death.
A few hours later, I was dragging the corpses of five yeties through the ice, all of them linked by my chaines.
Entring the terretorial skill I saw the guys sparring. I decided to keep watch for a bit and see how it would turn out.
Apparently Haru decided to challenge Haruka… that was a bad idea. While she used her katana, his blade that was a long broadsword was barely able to withstand the rapid strikes of the expert fighter.
Haruka was clearely going easy on him, but he looked to be struggling to manage the onslaught.
“Blindning light!” cried out Haru as he tried to blind Haruka with a spell, but saddly the effect of the spell was too weak within the range of my terretorial skill
The glory of the dark inferno disables most of holy spells and his, is not one to be used within this space as it suffers from the light consuming darkness and the debuff on holy spells.
Haruka capitalised on the mistake and kicked the still surprised haru in the guts, managing to knock him down and putting the tip of her katana on his neck.
“I give!” he said holding both hands over his heads in surrender.
“You have the strenght, the speed and the right mind, but you lack experience.” Said Haruka. While giving him a hand to pull him from the ground.
They look friendlier than ever.
“You seem to be enjoying yoursleves,” I said and they all turned, the way they looked at me was as if I was that strict teacher that caught his class bieng noisy.
Sigh
“What are thoes?” said Haru pointing at the corpses I was dragging behind me.
“These are what will make our new armor, Sir Givara, this should be what you need, the rest I have in my inventory, and if you still need dragon scales or any of the material I still have plenty.”
“Very well my lord, this is what I need then,” said the undead and began by giving a well detailed list of all he needed, and how he wanted the pelts of the Yetie’s removed.
I started by skinnning them while the guys could only keep watch, Misaka offered to assist me in skinning the beasts, but the tough bastards’ leather was too hard for the princess, so I had to do all the work alone. At least I was gratful to her ability to drain their bodies from blood, making the skinning process much faster.
Once I removed the pelt off the flesh I began by removing the bone from the meat, while conserving the fresh and tasty looking meat for later use.
It took about three hours to remove all of the beast’s fur.
Once that was done the forgmage began his work, channeling mana to process the fur and treat it, Then he used a special needel that he asked me to make using my metamorphosing blade to link the parts of the furr to each other, few hours later, I was looking at the end result, and I can say that they were amazing, this will be quite helpful to venture forward in the land of plague and curses.
