Chapter 3
Yuji POV
Gaining back my consciousness I found myself floating in a strange place. Few meter below me was a floor that was made of golden matter mixed with silver that expanded everywhere. As if it was a world built for one of great honor and wealth.
However, my mind was foggy and clouded, unable to register what is happening.
“Finally awake, Hero?” said a man that I just noticed.
He was a muscular looking man, with golden hair that swayed as if it was dancing on an inexistent gentle breeze, the man was sitting crossed legged and arms, adorned with golden armor that even though had the same color of the floor looked quite unique on him.
Inspecting the man to see what he was, and a man he was not…
Gilgamesh.
Raider of storms
Demigod
Level ???
“Where is this? and who are you? Did I die?”
“Too many questions lad… I am going to be your mentor, and no you are not dead… this is the lower floor of the heavenly realm.
“My mentor? For what?”
“You are the proteges of Dementi, the God of justice, you were chosen by them to protect its followers, but you were failing miserably.”
Failing? What the hell is he talking about?
“Do you mean the encounter with Daiki? That man is a crazy motherfucker, how the hell was I supposed to defeat that? I already killed him too, how did he come back?”
“Too many questions… listen up, the ones above had decided to hasten your increase in strength, you are too weak and too feeble to fight against the Herald… we need you to get stronger, otherwise, we will have to take matters into our hands.”
“I am sorry to bring it up to you, but that thing is unbeatable, at least not by me, the man rose back from death after I stabbed him through the heart and he turned to cinders, then he survived a stab through the heart and brushed it as if it was but a superficial scratch, don’t ask me to kill that man, I can’t do it, I can’t even face him… why don’t you take matters into your hands then? why should I do it?”
“You have been blessed by this very God the moment you set foot in this world, you title, your abilities, your increase in strength and your stats, everything required a huge sum of divine energy for you to become what you should have been, but you lost your path and wasted that boon, chasing after trivial things, and avenging what should not have been considered. You wasted your talent and gift, and now if you don’t want to use it, your protector will take your essence away with your soul as compensation for the loss, I am here to prevent that if there is a way, if not, then I shall kill you myself so that Dementi can regain its essence and offer it to someone more worthy.”
“So if I don’t fight I will die?” I said as if trying to verify what was clear.
“Yes,” said the man without hesitation
“I would love to have my revenge after that humiliation,” I said, “but that is impossible, that man cannot be defeated at least not by means I know of…”
“Then I shall make you capable of defeating him, or at least sealing him if it is within possibility”
What a fucked up world, forced to do what I cannot or die trying…
Without a warning, whatever that was helping me float through the air decided it was no longer going to do so, and I dropped on the hard floor. Groaning from the sudden pain I stood to only have Gilgamesh already standing and walking forward as I had to follow him after he signaled me to do so.
“Where are we heading?” I asked thought I want to leave this place and run away from this man I cannot, he is overflowing with power and might, even trying to run away is an idea that I am not going to consider, so I will follow… for now.
“To where you need to be,” he said and a vortex of gold and white opened in front of him as he walked through without waiting for me or saying a word.
I followed quit to have a notification pop out
You have entered the divine chamber of the Lords
X3 XP gained
Pain suffered is 3 times the norm
All abilities are sealed
Death is impossible within this chamber.
+ 1 divine energy
“Divine energy?”
“Yes, that is a currency that you will be gathering as long as you are in the presence of a willing god or in an enriched area with it. getting a huge sum of it will enable you to exchange it for weapons, or stats. Even your physical appearance can be altered with it…”
“And how will I get this currency?”
“Kill monsters, as many as you can within this chamber, you cannot die and you cannot rest.”
“But I have no weapon? Not even my abilities are usable, I can’t even inspect anything, what to do?”
“Figure that out yourself. I will come back when I see fit, don’t try to run or cower, your enemies will not cease chasing or killing you, but you shall come back and you shall be forced to fight again… You no longer have the luxury of free will… that is of crouse the case to any under the divine… do or die”

Said the demigod and disappeared leaving me alone in an empty white chamber that had no rim or border…
A bright blue flame ignited in the middle of the room, that is if it has a middle…
A small creature emerged from it, it looked like an overgrown rat with a golden tail.
Once it recognized my presence it bared its fangs at me and charged forward.
Once it jumped, aiming to rip off my throat with a single bite, I dodged fast enough that it missed me, but I grabbed its tail while it was in mid air and slammed its head on the ground.
It instantly turned to dust while a notification popped up
+1 Divine energy
A moment later, two more flames ignited and two of these things emerged.
This is going to be quite annoying I thought to myself as I readied up for the incoming wave…
Daiki POV
After having a look at the magic circle that the magicians belonging to the demon king created after figuring out the way to unseal the lost magic of world transportation I felt amazed. This thing, not only was it enormous but it looked complicated and grand. The golden lights of magic and the amount of mana required to operate such magic was by no mean something merger or simple.
It must have taken enormous amounts of effort to get something like this made or even have the mindset to make.
This, however, was three days from today. As I had promised the king to only go once she is secure and her reign is unperturbed, but looking at the current neutrality and inaction of the council members toward me or any of the envoys that were sent to the human kingdom, I found myself unable to do anything
Mainly because I think that they know of my attempt to leave this place and go to the human world, then they will probably try and overtake the reign of the kingdom…
Doing that will probably bring about the flames of war to this country and the humans… something that will force my hand as it will make me look like a liar as I had promised the humans peace…
The consistent bugging of my impatient companions was not helping, but I can’t blame them, they want to leave this place and so do I. But leaving these people to suffer the consequences of my words is something I don’t really want to live with. What if war truly breaks and they die? Their blood will be on my hands. And that is something, I strangely find un-comforting… I would have left the moment I found the way to do so before, but now I find myself attached to people that I don’t really owe anything to…
“What are you thinking about?” asked Haru as he was sitting next to me in within the library of the Shranvur reading some books.
“Should we leave Haru? And leave these people to their fate, I mean they survived without us, shouldn’t they rely on themselves more? They should be needless of us to solve their problems, especially the king.”
“I can’t say anything about that Daiki, and you know it. That was your choice of helping them, I won’t confirm or deny your reason to aid them, but like you just said; they survived without us, they need to continue on doing so without us, but you can leave them a mean to protect themselves in your absence if we find ourselves unable to come back here that is, I know your doubts about the magic… but what if it is real and we go back without the ability to return to this world, though frankly, I want to leave without coming back… You can ask your dragon to protect them in your absence…”
“No, Nemu should not be bothered by such things, he is a dragon, not a babysitter… but that is a good idea, I can leave something to help them… follow me, I think we will leave today.”
We walked to the portal under the shranvur and into the palace of the king, once there the servants came in as if they were expecting our arrival.
Dismissing them before they would ask anything, I only chose one to ask to gather the girls to the king’s chamber, I had something to say to everyone.
Once within the chamber, the king moved forward slightly bowing her head and asking
“What can I do for you.” She said in a bit of a trembling voice, I think she knows why we are here.
“We will be leaving today Lilith… that is something I cannot keep postponing… I am unable to keep my companions here and as you know, this is a chance that we need to take to go back to our world.”
As I said the words the girls entered the room.
Lilith clenched her fists and said
“That is understandable my lord… you have done our country a lot of services and I can only thank you for your efforts in assuring the safety of our people, the envoy was met with welcome and the truce terms were established, the two countries will even restart trade and the slave system will be abolished between the two races… I cannot thank you enough for this… but”
“Stop right there,”
I said stopping the girl from saying anything
“I Know you need me to secure your spot on the throne however as you know, the council members will not make a move as long as I am here, what I will do is that I will leave something to help you while I am away… How big is your courtyard? I mean how many soldiers can it take in?”
“Enough to hold a couple thousand soldiers with room to spare.”
“Good, show me the way then”
And she did and we followed.
Once outside I looked at the courtyard and it truly was huge.
“This should do the trick. Now back a way please.” I said as I walked forward.
“Rise forgotten soul of the dead, head my call and tremble for that my will is absolute and your submission is unconditional. Raise undead!”
And so they did, uprooting dirt and stone. Breaking the ground with their hands, skeletons, death knights and Dulahans would emerge, seeking vengeance and death to all that still breaths.
“Filthy scum of the dead, head my call and swear to follow my order,” I spoke addressing myself to the dead and they soon followed
“We dare not disobey what the Herald commands.” They said clasping their hands and bowing in unison
“Order and we shall oblige until our bones break until our will dies and until we turn to ash we follow your wishes”
“Very well, this one shall be your new master in my absence,” I said pointing at Lilith that stepped forward, clearly shaken by the sight ahead of her.
“However, my command still overwrites anything said by anyone, You shall follow her under three rules, Protect her and her kingdom from anything that she considers an enemy. Never kill without reason. And protect yourselves if under attack”
“We understand!” said the army of the dead
“These are your Lilith, use them only when your life is threatened or your country is. They will protect you as long as you remain true to your cause. Don’t be tempted by their strength, they will defend and never will they attack.”
“I understand Daiki… this is more than I need, thank you”
“There is one last thing you need to know, they need mana to be sustained and function under the sun properly. Ask your Mages to fuel them after our departure, they don’t need much but they need to be constantly maintained so don’t let them turn to dust.”
“I will do, we have many, necromancers that can do this job… thank you”
“Then let’s go, guys, it's time to head home,” I said as we headed to the magic circle within the shranvur after going through the portal and leaving the tireless army in wait.
Once inside the shranvur and within the circle the mages began chanting to activate the magic.
“Wear your armor everyone, we don’t know what we will be meeting or where we will land. And stay close to me”
And they did, the looks on everyone was filled with hope and anticipation, you can’t blame them, after all, they will be leaving to go back to their world…
“It is a shame we aren’t able to bring all of our classmates with us…” said Haruka
“At least we got to save ourselves… they should be able to take care of themselves…” I said thought I had no conviction with saying those words.
Light erupted around us as our bodies began to feel lighter
The demon king was looking at us with eyes of interest while all the channelers could do nothing but focus on supplying the circle with energy.
A blinding light soon shun upon us and a blue screen followed
Dimensional astral projection was successful
Your soul has been projected to the location: Earth
Astral projection?
I thought to myself as the light soon dissipated revealing the new scenery
This is… this is our school?
Looking at the scenery I was a bit struck out of it by the unexpected success of our transportation…
Kyaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
Cried one of the girls, and as I turned around to know the reason of it I understood what happened.
None of us was in their normal human form, though we were done in armor only our soul was visible to each other, flesh and bone was not apparent.
Their souls, however, looked like their former bodies, it resembled their appearance before they turned to what they are now.
However, mine looked like a torrent of darkness barely containable by broken parts, incomplete body parts, destroyed flesh and a black swirl of darkness that was filling the gaps of my being…
This is probably due to my nature as a soul Herald.
Your soul has been projected outside of your bodies, time before total destruction of the soul
59 minutes.
Fucking hell?
So we were sent to our world… but only the soul part… this is going to be problematic…
