Chapter 102
“Lord Michael is here!” cried out some of the angels as if in ecstasy, knowing that their ‘savior’ is here.
“Fear not my beloved subjects, for I have come to eradicate all evil!” cried out the archangel whose voice boomed throughout the city.
HOOOO!!!
Roared the angels in unison once they saw their leader coming personally to handle the intruders.
“Hmm, that guy has some a great presence,” I said as I looked at the incoming giant of an angel.
“Intruders! Lay down your weapons and Hand over your lives so that you may die a merciful death.” Said the Archangel as he raised his flaming sword up high.
Archangel Michael has summoned his territorial skill
Kingdom of heaven.
All allies receive +200% Hp Mana/stamina regeneration
+50% damage
+15% resistance towards all element
All enemies will receive
-20% damage
-50% mana stamina and Hp regen.
-50% resistance towards the light element.
“Oh, a territorial skill…” I said as I grinned.
“Daiki! Let's use ours too.” Said Haru, as he looked like he wanted to use his territorial skill too.
“No need, Hey guys, let me handle this guy!” I said as I willed my chains to wrap around my fists.
“You too! That is just selfish!” said Haruka “Let us help you!”
“There is no need, I won't die here anyway, after all, I don’t really want you to die from this guy’s damage, his level is high even for me to see it. so I don’t think you will be able to survive an attack from that guy, at least only Nemu and Vendir might be able to handle themselves here. I am not looking down on you guys, but you should know your limits”
The archangel looked a bit enraged as he was ignored by us so he roared out
“You damned fiends! Bow down and accept your deaths!” he said as he raised the weapon on his other hand.
The golden trident glowed brightly as he summoned a powerful spell
“Holy Smite!”
An enormous golden magic circle appeared above me as it spun around rapidly.
“Oh, that looks dangerous,” I said as I looked at the looming circle.
Turning around I saw the group of friends on guard towards the attack. Even I felt cold sweat dripping back my spine due to the strength of the attack.
Should I use it?
There is no other choice! I was trying to keep this to fight against stronger foes but it seems that this situation requires me to use one of my trump cards.
“Vendire! Protect everyone! Use your strongest protective spells!”
A bolt of light then soon shot forward. It was huge, to say the least, and looked like a stream of light that intended to pierce the heavens and destroy the earth.
No time to delay!
Slamming both my fists together a spark of flame then soon lit up. Forcing the tiny spark of flame to rise above me I took in a deep breath and blew out a ginormous amount of mana and soul energy.
“Destroying soul flame!”
Destroying soul flame.
A novelty spell fusing both the power of flame and the power of souls to create a powerful breath similar to a dragon’s breath.
20 000 base damage
with a 1.5 intelligence/wisdom/soul energy modifier.
Rarity. (Legendary)
Current damage
20 000+ 665 250/ second!
Cost
20 000Mana/sec
20 000 soul energy/sec
The world turned off as the ability I created was summoned. No matter the light the only thing that was bright enough was the holy ray coming down towards my head and the green and crimson breath that was trying to intercept the fire.
In a mere moment, the two light cliched and an explosion akin to an atomic bomb soon blew out everywhere.
The glorious city of angels was almost rendered to dust as a wave of energy shot everywhere destroying everything in its path! Buildings crumbled to dust while the streets of the city were ripped apart. The glorious city of angels was on the verge of becoming a barren land.
The flying angels were forced away from the power of the explosion while I on the other hand…
Banished one’s Legacy
You, one that is far from tired of living, Rise for your mission has yet to end.
Rise if you would, for that is your curse!
Yep, I killed myself…
That was to be expected anyway, I used that powerful spell in point blank range. The damage from the spell far exceeds my own Hp, so it was to be expected.
Once I rose back I took a look around where I stood and saw the aftereffects.
Nothing remained, huh, what a powerful spell.
Looking at my friends most of them were mouth agape, while Vendir had a nonchalant look on his face.
His barrier still stood however it had some cracks on it.
“Even after all that time, you still lack style.” Said Vendir
“Well, style never helped winning battles,” I said
“But it never hurt anyway! That attack was so vulgar you even killed yourself!” he said as he dispelled the barrier.
“Well, you should be thankful though, I used this spell under the effects of that angel’s territorial skill, it reduced a lot of its damage. If I used it without the debuff I don’t think that your barrier would have remained.” I said as I taunted Vendir.
“You bastards!” roared the angel as he was infiltrated.
“You dared damage the holy city of heaven! You are courting death!”
“Death? You must be kidding! Death! I will be your end archangel! You stand in my way! And all that stands in my way is my enemy! GLORY OF THE DARK INFERNO!”
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
I roared as dozens of pillars of flame rose across the city of angels.
The pillars howled in maddening screeches of people long since dead. Chains wrapped around burning corpses of old forgotten souls as they screamed for the company, the company of the living in the embrace of death! The howled and screamed! They shouted for flesh and for mortals! They were the cursed undead! Never to live never to die always bound to an eternal flame that claims their souls to the darkest pits of hell!
Glory of the dark inferno
+200% damage to all abilities
+400% increased regeneration to stamina/health/mana
All holy-Light attributed spells have been reduced
-15% resistance towards all elements
Enemies will receive
-30 % fortitude.
-1000 willpower
-25% stamina regeneration
-25% health regeneration
-25% mana regeneration
Hundreds of chains wrapped around the dead bodies of angels and some unfortunate ones that flew close to the flaming pillars.
Every time the pillar would claim an unfortunate soul it will latch onto it with burning chains as the pitiful soul would be extracted from the dying or dead bodies to burn in the pillars.
Due to the contradictive nature of the two territorial skills, a zone of hold and the unholy fire was summoned in place. Both territorial skills will have their power and effects reduced by half.
By half? It doesn’t matter.
“Today you will meet your end, Angel!” I shouted as I forced the mana within my body to stir.
And in a moment I blew up in a huge gust of dark smoke as I charged toward the still fazed Angel.
Why wouldn’t he be? Should he be higher level than I right? However, he unconsciously took a step back, why not? Even a lion will feel fear when a ‘prey’ charges toward him without fear or regard to its life! This time they prey however was a giant gust of dark cloud, a looming threat and a darkness without end nor visible depth.
Growing two giant arms of smoke I charged toward the Angel who tried to use a spell to shoot at me. A holy light that was consumed in an instant by the darkness of the smoke.
Fear!
Fear was plastered all over the angel’s face as he saw a giant maw opening up to consume him whole.
“You rotten fiend!” he cried out as he crossed both his weapons trying to channel a spell, but alas he was too preoccupied with the smoke that he forgot to guard his back.
My ability to move within the smoke was too fast, he didn’t even think that what was before him was nothing but a diversion.
I was already behind the angel as I willed my chains to wrap around his left hand. and with a forceful tug, I willed the flaming chain to burn and pull on his trident-wielding arm.
The trident was instantly disarmed from his hand and fell to the floor. The angel understood that what was before him was nothing but a diversion and my real objective was to remove his weapon. So he charged forward trying to get his weapon back. Unfortunately for him, my chains had already claimed his left hand.
“You will be going nowhere!” I said as I cast
“Abyssal projection!”
Forcing the space to distort and the fallen trident to disappear from sight.
“Imbicil!” cried out the angel as he tried to shake me off. Finding no way to overpower me he struck with his flaming sword at my chains, but was immediately surprised by the sturdiness of the chains. You can’t destroy that bro! those are chains made of soul energy unless you can wield that soul energy nothing in this world can even scratch them!
Forcefully pulling on the angel’s hand he was destabilized for a moment.
The angel then understood, that if he can’t destroy the chains all he has to do is to kill the caster.
All of this happened in but a mere second thought and the moment he thought of piercing me was where he made the greatest mistake.
Afterall though I could remove myself from the smoke, it doesn’t mean that the smoke is a harmless existence.
The giant hands that I created from the smoke avatar soon clatched on the angel’s Wings.
And within a single movement.
“Ghaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!” screeched the angel in agonizing pain.
The smoke avatar managed to rip a pair of wings from the angel.
“Two wings are gone! Twelve more to go!” I said as I dived forward
The angel became infuriated as he closed his remaining wings and tried to protect himself. The wings became sturdy and strong as steel while he became the symbol of a feather made cocoon.
“Idiot!” I said as I willed the chains to wrap around the angel at a rapid pace.
Within but mere seconds almost all of the feather cocoon was covered.
“I wonder how you would taste after being cooked alive! Chicken probably!” I said as I willed the chains to burn in all their might.
“Save his holiness!!” roared the angels as they saw me trying to cook their angel alive
They charged forward. Only to meet a dangerous foe
The smoke began to churn as it spread itself all over the world, consuming anything that lives.
In a matter of seconds, my rapidly depleting mana began to regenerate like crazy.
“Well, it seems that Daiki can really handle himself here right?” said Haru
“I wouldn’t be sure of that,” said Shara as she was a bit worried.
“That archangel is not something that can be underestimated…”
Blessings of the father!
A bright light soon shot down and dispelled my chains and forced me hundreds of meters away as I rolled all over the place, fully damaged and almost on the brink of death.
That was close! Dangerously close!
“You rotten! Despicable! Fiend!” cried out the angel as he stood forward.
His wings were charred, he looked like a burnt dinner while his face was mangled with burns and damaged beyond recognition, the handsome Angel looked worse than a mud stain now.
The flaming sword then changed its properties, instead of fire… it was light.
“A thousand death is not enough for me to wash away this humiliation! You shall suffer a fate worse than death Herald!” roared the angel as he looked to be much more powerful than before. His wounds began to regenerate and almost in a matter of moments, all the damage that was dealt with it was removed.
“Sigh… I will have to use another trump card then…” I said as I saw the power of the angel.
Summoning back the smoke I regenerated all my lost energy, mana and soul energy that was used. The smoke was like a leech that could eat away at the lives of anything that it touches.
Raising both my hands forward like a holy figure I summoned.
“Fallen undead! I claim my right to summon you from death! Gather! Rise undead!”
I summoned as hundreds and thousands of fallen angels began to rise as low leveled undead.
I didn’t need quality like what Vendir used that time. I need quantity!
“Herald! You plan on using that! It is too dangerous!” shouted Vendir.
“There is no other choice, you clearly saw how powerful this guy is! I know you are strong but can you defeat him?” I said as I looked at vendir.
“Not for the moment…” said Vendir “We are terribly incompatible with holy beings…”
“Indeed, so it leaves only one way”
“Is he going to summon someone? Perhaps Gilgamesh?” Asked Haru.
“ No, summoning Gilgamesh here in this holy land is idiotic. He is bound by the heavens the moment he is summoned he might regain his consciousness and will turn against us… what he wants to summon is something far stronger… sigh. I just hope he can control it.”
The skeletons then soon ran forward.
“Vendir! Hold that guy off! I just need a moment!”
Bendir then shot forward Nemu then soon followed, however, he changed back to his dragon form and shot a ray of soul energy towards the giant angel that forced it to tumble a few dozen meters destroying buildings and squashing angels in its wake.
Vendir then began chanting spells of dark nature to force the angel into a retreat.
“impudent!” Shouted the angel as a ray of golden energy washed over him removing the damage done and forcing the spells to bounce off him.
The skeletons then began to gather and climb atop each other, creating a ginormous structure of almost a hundred meters long.
“I summon you from the depths of hell, fallen one, come forth and bring defeat upon my foe!” then I took a deep breath and blew an enormous amount of soul energy that began to churn and swim across the skeletal body of the creatures that gathered to make a giant pyramid.
The bones of the skeletons begin to break and rattle as they were forced to bend. A giant humanoid skeletal structure was soon created however that was not the end.
A pair of hands. two three, ten!
Then heads, one two three, until the count stopped at ten.
A giant skeleton as soon created, it rose like a giant beast and shouted to the heavens.
Turning around, all ten of its skulls had an eerie green color to them. They were filled with hatred and rage!
Ravana
Level???
Boss class
Rakshasa king
(Ancient god)
(Undead)
The scholar, saint, and devotee, Ravana as an old one always prided himself with his endless hunger and thirst for knowledge, developing ten heads to ascend and learn more, yet his passion was brought to test when the goddess of destruction Shiva appeared.
And so he became one of her worshipers, cutting off his heads one by one to gain her approval, yet her approval of his ascension was only granted when he cut off the last of his heads. Now brought back, due to Shiva’s bestowal, Ravana grew the appetite for power and no longer sought knowledge.
Having been slain in a circle of hell all that remains from the powerful Ravana is nothing but a shell of its ancient power. Still, not even the shell of an ancient god should be underestimated.
“Herald! Dare thee call upon me after that humiliation!” spoke Ravana with all of its heads.
“There is no need for words between us fallen one,” I said as I spoke to the ancient skeleton “Do you know where we stand?” I said
“This is the kingdom of heaven… though far from what I remember it… you bring death and carnage wherever you go Herald…” spoke Ravana as he saw the damage to the kingdom of heaven.
“I couldn’t bring you all back… I don’t have yet the strength to do so…” I said “But I need your help in defeating that thing”
I said as I pointed at the angel
“Why should I help,” said Ravana as he only needed to turn one of its heads to look at the angel while the other nine were focusing on me.
“Once the fight between us and the Divine is over… I will release your soul back, you may do whatever you want by then.
“Interesting… I wonder if Shiva would still want my services… she only wants to see carnage and devastation… perhaps rampaging about here might earn me her favor once more…” spoke the ancient god.
“However, I am still limited, indeed I am no longer bound by the Hell’s seal, I can bring much of my true strength now, however, I am incomplete… I need blood a lot of it. Children! Time for you to do what you do best! Bring me food!” Spoke Ravana without pause as he began chanting something in an ancient language.
Hundreds of creatures soon emerged from the ground, they were hideous and dangerous beings, they were things that I didn’t want to see again, things that brought much hardship in my journey to the depths of hell...
The Rakhshasa
“Kill anything that moves!” he ordered and the horde of mad creatures began to charged forward without minding anything nor bothering to dodge incoming attacks, they jumped charged and a bit on any of the angels. All that was left to hear was the sound of screaming angels who were trying to fight to no avail, or run away only to die by the hands of dozens of these horrible beasts jumping on them…
The angels had too many days of peace… they probably never saw true horror… this is the life of those who suffered hell. This is the life of the damned…
