Chapter 57 (The legendary Forgemage)

Chapter 57 (The legendary Forgemage)

Chapter 57

“I am done my lord” said the zombie after having finished his work. “I think this is the best work I have ever managed to create…I cannot be thankful enough my lord. Before I go, can I see it worn?”

“Very well, you have the right to, you created it anyway.” I said as I took a look at the set of armors he had created.

I then stopped the territorial skill as I had no need for the fire.

Three armor sets of black dragon scale and one special set for my use…

The black armor sets were almost identical, full helmets that looked like small dragon heads with small openings for the eyes and two horns curving upwards, it had a smooth and sleek look to it. Fitting for female usage.

The shoulder plates end with two sprouting spikes, made from dragon fangs. The elbows had the same thing. It also had sleek gauntlets made from soft dragon belly scales. These scales were easy to bend under the flame as I have seen the master craftsman doing this I understood the difference in treatment that was required for each part of the dragon.

Now the only difference that the three sets had were the breastplates, two of them had layered scales on them, giving maximum protection, but increasing their weight a bit. These were more on the defensive side.

The last one had more belly scales on it, giving it more flexibility than shock absorbing.

Yet the difference in state they generated was minimal.

The sets all had battle skirts instead of leg armor, they were made from well-cut dragon scale. The knees and all the way down was a set of boots that ended with pointy greaves, and had a knee cap with two protruding spikes.

The back of the breastplates also had spikes where there should be spine vertebras. All in all I was looking at three scary black dragon armor sets.

It even comes with a full set bonus, and wearing the full set negates the light resistance reduction each item gives. Quite powerful I can say.

The girls were all looking at the items on the ground. Then before any of them could speak I said

“These are yours Haruka you should take thr lightrt set it will help with your mobility. As for you two take the heavy one it has more defense. They will help you a lot in our next training session. Wear them.”

They then picked them up and inspected them, I could even see few looks of shock on their faces but I didn’t speak.

The girls looked at each other then went outside the cave. They wanted to wear them so it was best if they do it where I was not looking…at least that is what I understood from the flushed faces when I was waiting for them to do it here…even the elf followed them...I have to make her something but concidering that she didn't help or assist in the dragon fight nor did she have the mininum level. I will have to think about this some other time.

Once the girls were out I looked at the blacksmith who was still waiting for something.

“What?” I said

“I feel honored to have seen my work come to fruition but the best piece of work has yet to be worn by yourself my lord.”

Ah my special set huh.

I then looked at the final armor set, the fourth one. It looked similar to the ones the girls had but with two major differences.

First the making of the special armor needed my blood added to the mix, and also soul energy...a lot of it.

This was asked of me by the blacksmith as he had said it will reinforce the armor to an astonishing degree.

I didn’t see a reason to refuse so I did as I was asked to.

The girls’ armor was smelted by pouring a lot of the dragon blood to the mix and forging it in the black flame, mine had my blood added to it and mixed with gold. Yes.

20 000 000 piece of gold went into the crafting of my set added to it most of what I had received in that day’s reward.

The blacksmith then added the dragon scales and somehow managed to melt it to some sort of liquid substance, then asked me to pour in most of my soul energy to reinforce it.

He also needed me to increase the fire so I willed the four pyres to become one in the last smelting session, then add the immolating fireball to the mix to make the heat increase even more.

The result was a freighting armor set that looked terrifying to say the least.

The helmet had a T shaped opening that left my nose, mouth, and eyes exposed, while it covered the rest of my head, two protruding horns were sprouting out of it.

The breastplate had golden streaks while it was pitch black. The shoulders were similar to the other set, as two dragon spikes were sprouting from them, while the right shoulder had a bigger horn, the left one was sharper.

The chest had a mixture of small golden black scales that were carefully crafted from the mix of components. And in the middle there was a red jewel with a small slit…a miniature dragon eye it seems.

It was both durable and flexible. As for the greaves and leg plates they were a one piece that went from my waist down to my feet. All made from the same black golden matter. With round knee caps and other protruding horns. Unlike the girl’s armor that looked like soldiers, mine had a look of a general.

Wow quite the imposing figures, just adding blood and some gold and few other stuff managed to change the result to such a degree…

I looked at the blacksmith and for the first time I understood what a great craftsman he is.

The man was only pounding on these scales with the anvil for the last dozen hours and the results of his work is amazing to say the least…I can’t fathom the time it had taken him to reach where he is now…a legendary blacksmith huh…I wonder what he was in his life…but that doesn’t matter now I need to wear this just to see how it would look, but first.

Soul seeker (toggled)

And

500 HP worth of magical damage.

Blighted lands (Toggled)

Every step the user of the herald’s legacy greaves takes will blight the lands around it, forcing whatever that is alive to die.

Can cause black dragon’s nightmare curse

Remodel

Can force the scales on the gauntlets to change ton accommodate the wielder’s desire.

“Remodel?” I asked the blacksmith.

He smirked as if a zombie could smirk and said

“You noticed, well my lord that was the hardest thing to craft, but seeing your fights and how you use your chains made me want to craft you these gauntlets. They will change form so that you can summon your chains, and will even unfold if you want to use your right hand’s ability”

“How do you know about that? You never seen me use it?” I asked.

“My lord, we, the lost souls share in your torment and your agony, we also share in your view and vision of the world, whatever you do and whatever you feel we feel it too…you are a part of us as we are a part of you my lord…”

Hmm this is probably how the sacrilegious king knew exactly what to do even before I asked him to help against that dragon…well it doesn’t matter anyway.

“One last thing my lord” said the blacksmith

“What is it?”

“Could you wear it now, there is one last thing I want you to see, the bonus of the set”

“Ah…alright” I said then wore it.

One would think that wearing armor would require at least two people, but not in this world you can just ‘Equip’ it…but I wonder why the girls are taking so long.

Once I equipped the armor it felt as if it had clicked.

The black and golden metal then began to show faint green veins and under the joints of the armor red magmatic veins were showing.

It was pulsating with life…

Black mist.

Can change the wielder’s form to that of a black smoke.

Negate all physical damage for 300 seconds

Reduces magical damage by 75% for the duration.

Wow!

Black smoke then soon began to be released from right under my shoulder pads covering my arms and stopping at my gauntlets. The red dragon eye jewel on my breastplate began to dimly shine.

This armor simply looks…badass.

The girls then entered and as I looked at them, they looked like three harbingers of death… with an elf following suit.

Wearing their full armor they walked inside, and before I could speak, Haruka exclaimed

“Whaa! You look scary as hell!”

“Well, then my objective is achieved.” I snorted.

“My lord, this body cannot take it any longer…working in that infernal heat made it weak...”

“Very well, you can go back, I still need you to craft us some weapons…”

“With pleasure my lord, I feel honored to have had the ability to leave my mark in this world, I never worked with such materials before…or had the ability to work without fatigue or stop, this fire is all I ever needed…summon me whenever you need my lord…” said the blacksmith before its body turned to dust as I willed him to dissipate.

His soul then came back to the torrent of souls, after having served its purpose.

“Where to now?” said Haruka.

“Well, now to the Elven kingdom, you need to be healed don’t you?”

“But, Daiki…” said Haruka in a sad tone.

“I don’t think we will be able to make it in time…we need eleven days ride to the elven kingdom…I only have four days left”

“True, but that is if we take a carriage…” I said

“What do you mean?” said Haruna who was as worried as Haruka was.

“We won’t take the carriage…we will fly there.” I said as I summoned the dragon egg from my inventory.

Time to tame a dragon!

To be continued...
