Stage Act 19: Bloody Messy, V

As we arrived at the town we spotted some knights from the capital walking around, but we managed to drop Angel at the inn.

"You ready?" I nod and we begin our walk.

We planned to find the snake, teach her a lesson, and then force her to admit that she made it up.

The main problem would be if the Twilight School caught wind of us fighting and thought we were the kidnappers. The Twilight School holds as much power here as a Duke since it's led by the descendants of the original Twilight Knight would be a major problem, but the current Twilight Knight is a young woman who is fair and understanding… or at least that's what I heard from Archibald.

If we were caught by them then we would just explain the situation and hope for the best.

as we walked a couple of people turned their heads and some even started to follow us.

If any bounty hunters came after us we would just dispose of them, but surely none would just attack because of some rumor.

A group of men stepped in our way and stood in front of us, 'only five, clear aggression, all armed.'

"Are you two the ones-" I grabbed the nearest one's head and shoved him into the ground, before the others could react, I grabbed a second by the neck and held him up.

"No, we aren't. Now piss off." I threw him on the ground and the others, instead of taking my warning swung their swords.

As expected, all were disarmed, and by disarmed, I mean they lost their hands.

They screamed in agony and a crowd was starting to form around us, "They don't look like the posters?"

"Are they the kidnappers?" Was the question that was being asked around.

We continued to walk until we reached the old building, I went to knock down the door but it opened just as I prepared to kick it down.

"I told you they would come!" I was face to face with an old man in knight's armor, behind him was the snake.

"I see. Well, I'd appreciate it if you didn't make my job harder than it already is and just surrender yourselves." He stepped out and he was an old man with short black hair.

I stepped back slowly and so did Pandres, "we're not here to fight and we're being wrongfully accused." He looked back at the snake with a confused look.

"Ah I see, then my apologies for the inconvenience." He yawned and sat on the ground.

Suddenly there was a ringing in my ear and I found myself face-first on the ground and a warm liquid spurting from the back of my head.

I was then picked up and carried away, I lift my head and see multiple swords stabbed into where I was laying.

"Shit! We let our guard down..." Pandres puts me down and I managed to get on my feet.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

"Can you go on?" I rub the back of my head and look back at my hand which was covered in a dark red substance.

I take a deep breath in, "yeah." I count the enemies.

'Too many, I can't even count the lot of them.' I look at the big smiley bastard who wielded that damn mace.

'Must've been you…'

"You take the ones on the right and I'll take care of the left side and that big pig." She nodded.

I readied my sword and calmed down.

As I started to cut through the many terrified opponents, I looked over to see how Sebastian was doing since he had been hit pretty hard.

There I found the monster, the monster that the man he caught spoke of, a terrifying demon-like beast.

He bit, ripped, gouged, cut his opponents. But he didn't kill them, as soon as he incapacitated one, he went for the other.

I couldn't do anything but watch in awe, all the fighting on my side had stopped, we simply watched as the people were torn apart.

The old knight was now standing next to me, I didn't even notice his presence, "to think I'd find a Daybreak swordsman in this town…"

"Hmm It's a bit different though, this is indeed the Daybreak style. It's still an utterly frightening style, but there's beauty to his style. He goes out of his way to not kill them." I was speechless.

Soon, he was finished. The thick metallic odor filled the air, he was covered in blood. He looked up at the sky and exhaled steam.

The people around me started to run away, lest he caught them and they fell to the same despair as the men who struggled to even crawl were caught in.

"Pandres…" he looked at me and I couldn't help but fear him.

He fell back to the ground and stared at the sky, with tired eyes.

He suddenly sat up and grabbed one of the men's ripped clothing and tried to tie it around his head as a makeshift bandage, but he couldn't get it right.

"Come on now, can't you see me struggling?" He weakly laughed which snapped me out of my daze.

I slowly walked over to him and helped tie it, "I should've held back…" he said under his breath.

The old knight walked over to the woman who was standing still against a wall, "Sorry, but you're on your own here, love." He then began to walk away.

She tried to stop him from leaving but he kept on walking while whistling, "I still need to deal with this snake." He stood up and walked over to her.

She watched in horror as he walked closer and closer, "Sebastian, I'm sorry!" She fell backward and started to beg for mercy.

"Yo." A band of knights approached us, these knights wore the same armor as the old man, the Twilight School's armor.

I got ready for a fight, I needed to support Sebastian if this turns into a fight, he was already injured and used up a lot of his mana on the spell he used on Angel.

"Cyrus really left you to rot ay?" The short, middle-aged man asked Trinity.

"Seeing this mess, I'm not surprised… you caused this?" He pointed to Sebastian.

"Yeah." He had a peculiar look in his eyes, he didn't even try to defend himself.

"Well… I think you should come with us, we're not here to fight, we just want to understand why this happened." Sebastian stumbled so I held him up as support as he touched the back of his head which was still bleeding profusely.

He exhaled and pointed at Trinity, "Fine. But she's coming with us." The man assured that she'd be coming and thus we were escorted to the Twilight School.

We arrived at a gate and through that gate, I gazed up upon a building that even put the mansions in the capital to shame.

We walked through the beautiful garden and then we were escorted to a room.

It was a waiting room, a woman dressed in the Twilight training clothes then came in and handed me a box of stuff we needed.

I helped Sebastian to the couch, "turn around will ya?" He then turned his back to me.

"Isn't there some kind of healing magic?"

"Yes, but I, unfortunately, don't know how to use it." I wore the gloves and undid the makeshift bandage.

"Hm, the good news is that it doesn't look too bad." It was a little gash, honestly, the amount of blood made it out to be worse than it was.

"Is there bad news?"

"I don't know how to do stitches properly." Though I had some experience with it, I was never good at it.

"It'll be fine, It's just like sewing." I disinfect it using alcohol to no reaction.

"You don't feel it? Have you lost your feeling in this area?" I push around the wound and he hisses in pain.

"I feel it, I feel it!" I take one last inhale and begin the process.

He stayed incredibly still as if he was a statue.

"Were you scared?" I was taken aback by this sudden question and stopped.

"I saw it in your eyes when I called out to you." I continued to stitch.

"I'll be honest, it was a terrifying scene. You reminded me of a monster." he visibly deflated.

"But once you laughed I realized you were still the same Sebastian I've gotten to know, and my fear went away." And with that, I was done.

"The Sebastian you've gotten to know?" I went to grab the bandage and when I turned back he was sitting upright.

"That's a new one." He had a smile, I think that was the first time I saw an actual smile from him.

He took the bandage from me and tied it around his head.

"I need a new change of clothes." He looked down at his clothes that were stained with blood, I looked at my own clothes and there were some splatters of dried blood on them.

And with perfect timing the same woman came with clothes that matched hers, just a simple white shirt and black pants.

After she left, we changed our clothes, "gotten used to it eh?" I joked.

"I had no choice but to adapt." He smirked and then grabbed a towel and started to wipe down his sword.

I looked at the clock that hung on the wall 'It's 6:32, hopefully, Angel is fine, that man swore an oath and if it's the same as that oath that Sebastian told me about then she should be fine.' A different woman knocked and then walked in.

"The master is ready to see you."
