Unwelcomed News - Chapter 13

Pov Eclipse

----------------------------------------

It seems that my freedom is coming sooner than later, all thanks to the [Blooming Undeath]. Whatever the flower was, Silven and Jack seemed worried about such a small flower.... Maybe it was a type of Venus flytrap?! The information I received said fly traps were flowers that are extremely dangerous to me, and I shouldn’t be too close to them, that would explain why they were so worried! It must be a flytrap the specifically targeted humans, that’s why it didn’t do anything to me!

Anyways, the two humans decided to drop me off back at the nest, which made me happy and angry at the same time. Happy because I can finally move again and angry due to the fact that Silven is withholding the information that she ‘promised’ me.

But now that there's danger outside the nest, I am angry at not being able to do anything to protect Silven.

Wait if I get out of the nest and help eliminate the flytraps.... will Silven be able to actually tell me something without pushing it for later? Definitely worth escaping the nest, and I get to explore by myself!

Ok, now how do I get out of here.... The entrance to the nest is blocked by a piece of wood. Oh, wait there's the other opening in the nest.

I quickly moved over to the opening which showed the cloudy sky overhead, blocking out the sun. But even without the warm shine of the sun encapsulating me, my determination for more knowledge will not be stopped.

What will stop it, is my height and flightlessness... I quickly skidded to a stop as I looked up angrily at the opening which was not too far, but not close enough.

Pondering, I looked around, and moved to each item in the nest, and started pushed them under the opening and against the wall of the nest. Which wasn’t enough as it was just out of reach even when I stood at the very top of the assortment of items, but then I suddenly had an idea.

With a strong sense of determination filling me, I positioned myself Infront of the pile and ran towards it as fast as my little legs could move me. As I started running up on the pile, it started shifting, but I kept running until I reached the top and leaped upwards.

And it worked!..

Except I didn’t have a method of stopping so I went over the side of the opening and started plummeting into the ‘streets’ below. Panicking I started madly flapping my wings, but it seems I only damaged them as I noticed a tear.

And before I could do anything to stop my descent, the ground was already in my face as I hit it hard and heard a couple things snap.

I couldn’t tell what happened as my vision was blurry for some reason, thankfully the blurriness went away, and I saw that three of my legs were bent weirdly. Weird, but they didn’t seem to hinder me, or at least I thought.

The second I tried to stand up, I collapsed as the three legs didn’t seem to want to work with me. They just moved like they weren’t alive.

“...alright?”

What was that noise?

“Hey magical creature, can you hear me!?”

Oh, I didn’t even notice that another human was talking to me. I looked over to my side and my surroundings seemed to blur, but then it went away again, weird.

I then noticed that quite a crowd of humans of all kinds seemed to surround me at a distance, except a wrinkly human which kneeled extremely close to me. He had a worried look on his face as he was staring into me with pitch black eyes.

“Oh thank.... lady..... alright...”

Oh, why was its voice coming and going even though he continually moved his mouth? Very funny trick human- oh is that my ‘blood’? Why is it below me?- Why is it getting dark now?

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

The last thing I saw was the wrinkly human, having a crescent on its face, and somehow it was worse than the crescent that Jack does.

Pov Silven

----------------------------------------

“This is a lot worse than we imagined Jack, we need to warn someone!”

I whisper-yelled at Jack who was standing beside me, even though I couldn’t exactly see his face, I could tell he was deep in thought.

“Yes, yes I know, I’ve already sent a [Message] to Andrew and Steph asking them to meet with us immediately.”

Just as he said this, a tear in space ripped open with a howl, thankfully we were in the alleys, and a woman stepped out and the rip closed back up. She had a beautiful face and had long golden hair, which reached to her hips. She had piercing green eyes, and she wore loose purple robes which barely hid her large assets. I wasn’t short for a girl, as I was taller than any woman magician in the guild, but the magician in front of me was taller than me by a head. This woman was the supreme magician, Stephanie or commonly referred to as Steph, she was one of the strongest magic casters in the kingdom.

She looked at Jack coldly and didn’t register me until she noticed me, and I could tell her face lit up with joy.

“Oh, Silven sweetie you’re here too! What happened to your arm?”

I guess I forgot to mention she was my tutor/guardian since I was twelve.

“H-hey Steph... I got into a l-little trouble.”

I strained, even though she was such a lovely mother figure, she was a true demon when she was teaching me anything about magic.

“Oh, sweetie are you still angry about the time I left you alone with the magma snakes? They were barely level 50, I could’ve easily taken care of them if you were in trouble.”

She came closer and carefully hugged me. It still hurt as I felt like Steph was putting too much power into her hug.

“Level 50 when I was barely level 7...”

I strained out quietly.

I swear she heard that, but she ignored the statement and let me go, which caused me to stumble forwards slightly. She looked away from me and once again looked at Jack coldly and spoke.

“As happy as I am seeing Silven, you better not be wasting my time Jack with that emergency letter.”

“And mine too, hello twerp.”

A familiar voice sounded out, which surprised me, but not the other two unless they were not showing it.

Out of the shadows, a figure of a man appeared. He wore a black cloak that seemed to be made out of living shadows, the only things visible was the grey half armor hidden underneath. This was my other tutor, Andrew, a talented [Assassin] with loads of experience. He retired a while ago and became a guild leader of the adventurers guild. I’ve never seen him in action and only saw him play around with me when we sparred, but from what I heard from the veterans in the three guilds, he was a monster on the field. They said he couldn’t even be seen even though he would be right in front of you. He’s also a lady killer and visits the brothel a lot. It's weird that he’s a lady killer since no one knows how he looks like as he wears a black mask with no features.

“Yeah, yeah calm down you old timers, as much as I want to make more fun of you too, we have a huge issue, there's a high levelled Necromancer who seems to have evaded getting caught and has been covering his tracks too well, almost like he’s done this before. I have seen exactly 49 [Epic Blooming Undeath] and found no more.”

The two of them seemed to think over the words Jack said before Steph spoke up.

“I did feel an increase in death essence a while ago, but I didn’t think much of it. If what you are saying is true about the amount of [Epic Blooming Undeath], this Necromancer isn't simply creating an army of high ranked Undead, he’s either a worshipper of Ul’ueke The Wretched, and is preparing a large amount of high ranked death essence for a ritual of sorts, which is unlikely, or he is trying to create a [Overlord] of some sorts. Either case is really bad.”

Andrew nodded, and just before the conversation was about to continue, I had to ask.

“U-uh why can't it be the Necromancer making a high leveled army?”

Steph quickly explained.

“Even a high leveled Necromancer would not waste their time making 49 high leveled undead, its simply too much work and mana compared to using large scale magic to destroy a village or two and create a few thousand low level undead, which let me say, is a lot harder to fight against than 49 high leveled undead. Therefore, such a large gathering of high leveled undead is probably an attempt at making a ‘Supreme Court Of The Dead’, a type of phenomenon that happens whenever a large gathering of high leveled undead are gathered in one area which causes an [Overlord] to wake up and open a portal from ‘The Plain Of the Dead’ and step into the world.”

Steph stopped before continuing.

“And Ul’ueke The Wretched is a.... type of demon... no one is sure what type of demon he is, but we know that he is similar to an [Overlord], but he comes from The Depths, and there are a few rituals involving the undead for him that will strengthen his demonic forces temporarily, that why I’m saying that it's unlikely as any worshipper of Ul’ueke would rather free him then temporally strengthen his demonic forces, and it is always noticeable when one of his worshippers appear.”

“Ohhh, that makes a lot more sense, thanks Steph.”

I had a bit to think about as I watched the three of them talk amongst themselves about the plan of attack.
