I was finally out of that damned space, I swear if I didn't meet Silver before it decided to keep me in such a small space, I would've thought it was my kidnapper that took me away from my mother and forced me through the strange things I saw and felt.
I know I agreed to being in there, but that place reminded me too much about my kidnapper and I couldn't help but feel fear even when I knew it was just Silver.
Last time I'll go there!
I decided I would take out my anger at Silver by tapping it repeatedly to clearly show my discomfort at such a thing. I heard some talking coming from Silver, but I completely ignored it cause it ignored my discomfort! I was so distracted by my anger that I didn't notice that we were in a new space and that a new creature was behind a light brown rectangle with two 'legs' at the bottom. This creature had black fur on the top of its body and had a black shell adorned with gold... but this shell was different from the shells I've seen. This one looked weak compared to Silver and the trio of creatures. Wait were did the trio go? I was extremely confused. But my confusion turned to anger once again as Silver decided to lift me up into the air. I tried to find my footing unconsciously for a bit, before I looked down and saw how high I suddenly was.
Since I couldn't voice my anger, I started shaking. Silver should atleast figure this out since it's species seems to be doing it all the time when they seem to be in discomfort.
I may have agreed to being in a small space, but I did not agree to this!
It seemed that I finally got through to Silver as it placed me down back on the ground, but for some reason, Silver decided to place me on top of rectangle and infront of the new creature. And then a transparent blue sphere appeared around us, and my anger was gone. I had all of my attention placed on the blue sphere. Then I heard Silver call for me which brought me back to the conversation.
"Eclipse can you do a Reading for us?"
Huh?... Oh, I don't wanna.
I quickly lifted up two of my legs.
"Yes I know you're angry about what happened today, but Jack here is going to help us."
So the new creature's name is Jack, good to know. But still no!
I once again lifted up two legs.
"Ok, is there something you want that will make you change your mind?"
Now we're talking.
I lifted up a single leg. I know exactly what I want. I had a feeling that Silver was about to say something, so I immediately raised one of my legs and pointed at the blue sphere. I hope I got it correct, I saw Silver and the trio doing this motion whenever they wanted everyones attention at something. Silver seemed to be confused, but thankfully Jack seemed to understand.
"Oh you want to learn [Absolute Silence]? That is what this sphere we are in called."
It's voice sounded sweet and happy.
Jack even though I just met you, can you be Silver's replacement?
Silver took too long to understand my wants, Jack immediately understood, and it seemed to be smarter than Silver. I quickly lifted up a single leg in excitement.
"I'm guessing this means yes?"
And it immediately understood a language that Silver seemed to come up with in short amount of time! It seems that Jack looked at Silver for conformation as I saw its eyes shift away from me and to Silver who nodded silently in return.
I'm still confused on why Silver didn't just teach me it's motion language, but rather taught me something it came up with.
"Very well then, I Jack Vincere leader of the mercs, promise to teach you to the best of my abilities [Absolute Silence]."
The word promise again, I feel like its very important or something. It is pared up with teaching... Maybe its a word of agreement?
I couldn't help but wonder once again. I saw Jack's mouth turn into a crescent for some reason.
"If you think of taking advantage of Eclipse I will climb the ranks and blast you through a mountain."
Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.
Must be something that only Silver understood as it immediately stated coldly.
Why can't you be like Jack! It's voice is sweet and happy, while you use a tone that makes most creatures uncomfortable! I do wonder what's with all these new words though...
The crescent for some reason turned wider and I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable.
Never mind, it seems that your species is good at making other creatures uncomfortable. Please never make your mouth into a crescent again Jack.
I quickly placed my foot on the Reader and waited for Silver to do its thing. Once it did, I was greeted by the large blue rectangle again, but this time I ignored it and just looked at Jack since It seemed more expressive than Silver. And it seems to me that Jack dropped it's crescent and looked more normal. Another point for Jack for listening to my discomforts.
It made a weird noise before it replied without its previous sweetness, which didn't surprise me too much as these creatures seemed to continuously change voices for odd reasons.
"So tell me Silven, how did you find Eclipse?"
Silven? Who's Silven and when did they find me? I've only met Mother, the red shells, Silver, the trio, and you. I have never heard of this Silven-
My new crisis of wondering if I met something and somehow forgot about them, even though I clearly remember every moment I had after gaining consciousness, ended shortly after I heard Silver answer.
"It's a long story so get comfortable."
I was so surprised that Silver responded that I froze completely. I never once tried to learn its name even though it knew mine! I knew the names of the creatures that talked with me, or just talked at me, but I never once thought what Silver's true name was. I just happily called it Silver! But somehow I got really close to guessing the name, I can't help but feel proud of that fact. I wonder what Silven ment, wait what did Holt, Master, Gerald, Mike, Lex, and Jack all mean!? My name has a meaning, so there's must also have a meaning! What mother wouldn't name them with a purpose! Wait... did these creatures have a mother? What if they didn't have a mother and they were forced to choose the name by themselves!
Calm down Eclipse! Don't dwelve too deep!
I barely stopped myself as I almost had another crisis, it seemed that the blue rectangle was trying to comfort me as it once again appeared suddenely and then once again disappeared as fast at it appeared.
[Title Recieved]
I'll be honest rectangle, that is not comforting, it just makes me question things more.
"What!?"
It seems that Jack and Silven agreed with me as they spoke at the same time. Both of them looked at me for some odd reason.
I assure you that I don't understand the rectangles comforting methods, they are as much as a mystery to me as they are to you.
"Poor thing... It must really be wanting to understand what's the meaning of some of the words we are using."
Silven suddenly said, which caused my confusion to double.
What?? No stop being like this, I don't even want to hear how you met me! The rectangle! I'm confused at the rectangle! Jack back me up!
"I agree... I could have it go to some school if it gets a humanoid evolution."
Jack replied with what I did not want to hear.
Mother... your species sucks. Silven... you and Jack are both awful.
I grumbled as I heard and felt the creatures try to comfort the wrong thing. I spaced out long enough to notice that the creatures were now talking amongst each other once again. I looked at the two of them and they didn't look back. Which means they aren't paying attention to me, I think.
Good, I wanted to leave a while ago.
I started trotting over to the far end of the rectangle and looked down. It was pretty high up, but I think I can atleast glide down since gliding was easier than flying. I hope atleast. I tried to jump off immidately but I was frozen in place.
Was I scared of this height?
It was probably the case as this was my first time being not on the ground and rather being on something elevated. New plan, move fast and jump off, this would make me not see the height until I jump off. I trotted back a bit before I started running, followed by the jump just before the edge of the rectangle. It worked! The jumping part, not the gliding part.
I was so focused on jumping that I completely forgot about gliding, so I just plummented and rolled across the ground, passing through the pretty transparent sphere. I sat there on the ground in embarrassment and looked back to see if the two creatures noticed my blunder, but for some reason they weren't there! They were just gone completely.
I hurriedly stood up and rushed back to the rectangle that I was just at, but I hit an invisible wall! I couldn't help but feel fear once again, as I ran backwards to see if I was stuck in another small space. Thankfully I wasn't but for some reason, this invisable wall surrounded the rectangle.
I looked in shock at the rectangle and couldn't help but feel some sort of feeling that wasn't physical, and it made me feel extremely weird.
..I'm sorry for saying Jack was better than you Silven, please come back. Please don't disappear on me.
I stared holes at the rectangle who took Silven and Jack away, but I could care less about Jack as I just met it. Rather I wanted the rectangle to let go of Silven. I hurriedly looked around the new space for anything that could help me presuade the rectangle into giving back Silven. And then I saw it, just right to the rectangle was one of those lines that the creatures of this world seemed to think highely of. It looked similar to Silven's line, the smaller intersecting line started curving upwards. The longer line was a shiny black, but the most eye catching difference was the purple misty part in the middle of the point were the small line and the long line intersected and then along the middle of longer line. It moved beautifully, but I only thought of that beauty as something to presuade the rectangle and not something that I could enjoy looking at.
I almost gave up when I saw how high it was, but then I saw a path that I could take to reach what could help free Silven. It looked tough and long, but anything to bring back someone who I've known the most in this world.
Just wait Silven!
