Since I had plenty of time, I went to the adventurer's guild to ask for information about the tox dungeon monsters. I couldn't find anything relevant in the academy library except for their image, rank, and elements.
So I left the academy and headed to the adventurer's guild. Still, I went to Mr. Bomberman's store to get ten blinding grenades and ten sponge bombs, spending 13 gold coins.
Although I could have bought explosive grenades and used them in my fight against the final boss of the tox dungeon, I decided not to because I didn't feel I would need them. I also don't want to always rely on these types of items.
Having said all that, I continue my way to the adventurers guild. Once there, I look at the quest board to see if something is interesting. When I see a quest that catches my attention, it is not because of its difficulty but the background it has.
[Mission: Transport the criminal from the Goblin siege - Rank D+].
[A group of people of rank D or higher is required to transport the criminal responsible for the goblin outbreak in the Torata forest to the Equatorial prison].
Seeing this, I realize that the goblin extermination mission has ended, and I captured the person responsible for all this. There is no information on how they did it. They only tell you the crime they committed but not their reasons for doing it. I should avoid that because I do not want to get involved.
That said, I turn around and move to the third row to ask for the information I want, which doesn't take long as barely 40 seconds pass, and it's my turn.
* Good morning.
* Oh, it's you! How can I help you!
The receptionist who attends me is the one who helped me with my adventurer's card yesterday. His impression of me has increased significantly as he follows me with a huge smile.
* I want to ask for information about some monsters that appear in the tox dungeon. Would it be possible to see their information sheets?
* Of course! Please come with me!
The receptionist got up from her chair and asked me to follow her to a room where another girl took his place. Once there, she asks me to wait while she brings the book with the information about the monsters.
After a few minutes, the receptionist returns with a huge book, which she places on the center table and begins to flip through its pages, looking for the monsters that appear in tox dungeon.
* Here it is! These are the monsters that appear in the tox dungeon.
The receptionist showed me several pages in which several monsters appear next to a label that says tox dungeon. The pages show a picture of the monster and its characteristics.
1. [Toxelet Snail - Rank D+ - Electric/Poison]
[A snail that secretes venom to stay hydrated and protect itself from predators].
[Releases electrical discharges that paralyze the adventurers' muscles, so they must keep their distance].
[Although they are slow, they are very silent, so they must be killed on sight to avoid surprise attacks].
2. [Clam Piedraguja - Rank D+ - Earth/Poison].
[Release 3-centimeter needles with a small amount of poison, the more needles you receive, the more toxic the poison becomes].
[Its shell is very strong, but its interior is weak].
[The darker the color of its shell, the harder it becomes].
3. [Rainbow Cone Frog - Rank C - Water/Poison].
[The skin of this frog can numb the muscles of your body, so it is recommended that archers and mages are responsible for killing them.].
[It can spit a huge amount of saliva in the shape of a cone, so it is recommended to dodge].
[If possible, kill the frog before it attacks because once its saliva evaporates, it will create a toxic cloud in the environment].
4. [PlanSpora - Rank C- - Plant/Poison].
[A plant-type monster which is recommended to be avoided].
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
[Once it feels threatened, it opens its fruit and releases thousands of spores which, once inhaled, provoke all kinds of hallucinations].
5. [Mutant Worm: GORD - Rank C+ - Metal/Poison].
[Segments of its body are protected by metal plates with poison on them].
[It is 7 meters long and moves at the speed of an average man].
[Unlike its exterior, its interior is very fragile].
[It is recommended to use a bait to make it open its mouth and then throw an explosive grenade or explosion magic inside it].
After viewing and analyzing each of them, I already knew how to hunt these monsters; however, the following information about one monster caught my attention.
6. [Copyzoña Plant - Ranco C+ - Plant].
[A plant-type monster that can mimic any plant-type monster's appearance and behavior perfectly].
[Its body seems to be made entirely of leaves].
[Due to the few times it has been seen, the information on this monster is almost nil].
This information was very valuable, as I did not know that there was this type of monster in a dungeon where the main component is the poison element.
So, I asked the receptionist what she knew about it.
* Excuse me, is this monster called copyzoña plant in the academy dungeon?
* To be honest, I'm not sure.
* What does it mean?
* A group of adventurers reported this over 4-5 years ago. They said that a strange monster attacked them from behind, to which they responded with a fireball which killed the monster without a trace. The group reported this anomaly, described the monster's appearance, and deduced that it was this one. However, the next group could not find the monster.
* And why didn't they remove this monster from this section?
* Because the group that reported it was a famous B-rank group, and all its members claimed to have seen it, it has not been found, so it is believed to be a phantom monster.
* I see. Thanks for the information.
* You are welcome. Is there anything else?
* Not, for now, thank you.
With that said, I leave the adventurers' guild and head to the restaurant for a bite.
...
As soon as I finish eating, I head towards the academy to find some extra information about the copyzoña plant that can help me. If it turns out that it is a strong or versatile monster, I will catch it as my new sword. Besides, its external appearance is like that of a ninja wearing a suit made entirely of leaves. Now I just need to see that its skills are good.
I walk up the stairs to the library. As I enter the door, I see Lindsy, Theo, Tara, Lety, Fiona, Asuka, and Indis sitting at a table with a stack of books. Although Fiona looks like she's about to go crazy from reading so many words, she seems to be a bad go-getter.
While Fiona was trying to read a book, she noticed me standing in the doorway and started waving her hands as if she had found a friend at a party where she didn't know anyone.
* Fiona: Mr. Marco, over here!
* All: Shhhh!
As Fiona spoke loudly in the library, the rest of the people there, including her friends, silenced her. However, they also turned their heads toward Marco to greet him.
Seeing this, Marco greeted them and then went to the monster section to pick up a book containing information about the copyzoña plant monster. Then they went to the girls' table.
* Fiona: *whisper* Mr. Marco, what are you doing here?
* *I'm looking for information about a certain monster.
* Lindsy: *whisper* what kind of monster?
* *whisper* copyzoña plant.
* Lindsy: *whisper* what kind of plant is it?
* *whisper* one that can take the shape of other plants. Apparently, there may be one in tox dungeon, so I want to know if there is any relevant information.
With that said, I open the monster book and start looking for the copyzoña plant, which appears after 2 minutes of searching. But I only find basic information about this monster, so I close the book and put it on the shelf.
I return to the table where the girls are studying and sit down. Since there is no information about this monster, the only thing I can do is to be alert, so I start to draw a plan in my head of how I should act once I am inside the dungeon.
At that moment, Fiona, tired of reading books, approached Marco to ask him a question.
* Fiona: *whisper* Mr. Marco, can I ask you for a favor?
* *whisper* I guess. What do you want?
* Fiona: *whispers* I want to fight you again.
* *I see since I have nothing to do, we can go now, what do you say?
* Fiona: *whispers* YES!
That said, Fiona and I leave the library to go to the training ground in the second building. Still, before leaving the table, the other girls and Theo stop us in our tracks.
* *whisper* What's wrong?
* Indis: *whisper* We are going too.
* Huh? Okay, but if you want to train, you'll have to wait until the confrontation with Fiona is over.
With that said, this colorful group heads towards the training area to practice. As I'm walking, I can feel Indis and Fiona's pointed stares, as if they couldn't wait for a second to try to hit me like I'm a piñata.
...
After several hours of training with the girls, it was finally time to go. The fights with the girls were very intense. Still, they served as training, especially the combat against Indis and Lindsy, since one of my weaknesses is ranged attacks. The only way to counter it is to get close to the enemy or use long-range skills.
But since I couldn't use focused slash, I opted to run towards the enemy (them) while using my sword to deflect their attacks. The good thing about this is that my agility increased by one point.
As for Theo and Fiona, I had them fight each other to observe some faults in their movements, and then I did a practice fight with them while attacking their faults. That way, I could activate the muscle memory of their bodies, so they wouldn't make the same mistakes in the fights.
Since I wasn't seeing them until Monday or Sunday, I treated them to chicken wings at a fast-food restaurant to eat to bursting.
When everyone's stomachs were full, I paid the bill, and each of us went home. Once in the apartment, I took a bath and changed. I also set the alarm clock to wake up early because tomorrow was the day I would receive my sword. I lay down on the bed, intending to fall asleep quickly as if I were a child waiting for his toy for tomorrow.
