After 3 hours, I managed to hunt another 48 golems, getting another achievement that increased my HP/MP +10 and my strength +2. I also harvested several herbs from around the mountain: noda herb x14; macra herb x10; helip herb x22. And fel herb x21, which I gave to Kawaii to eat.
I still have about two hours left before returning to the city, so I keep walking towards the top of the mountain, only this time I'm not looking for more golem; instead, I'm looking for the area of the iron vultures because apart from hunting them, I want to see if I can steal their eggs to sell them.
I may sound a bit cruel, but I don't plan to steal all their eggs. I will only steal one egg from the nests with two or three eggs, and how will I do that? I will use my sword's possession skill with the iron vulture, and I will use its passive skill plan.
But first, I have to practice because I don't want to jump off the mountain and get crushed. After all, this is not like in the cartoons where you are on a board, and you can get up again as if nothing happened. In any case, I will climb a tree and jump.
...
After several minutes, I reach the top and see some vultures on the mountain's edge. Some of them jump from the edge of the slope to fall into the void and glide, while others just use the strength of their legs to hold on and go down.
I start to approach the cliff to observe where their nests are, but when I get close to it, out of nowhere appears ahead of a steely vulture, and it stares at me.
* ...
* ...
* ...
* ... hello?
* ...
* ... I'd better go.
* KREEEE!!!!!!
The damn bird screams and starts climbing up to attack me, so I move away from the slope to make distance and prepare for battle.
Possession!
I transform into my human/vulture version to fight, as it is the most advisable thing to do in this place, as the scream of this vulture attracts the flock. If I am attacked by several of them, I can use a winged shield to mitigate some damage.
The iron vulture approaches me with its wings outstretched and tiny jumps, indicating that it will attack soon, so I go ahead and attack it first.
Cutting wind!
A powerful gust of wind is released in its direction. It is then that the vulture's wings begin to take on a metallic hue, and it folds them forward to cover itself like a shield. When the wind collides with its wings, it emits a sound similar to metal sheets falling.
When my attack ends, the vulture spreads its wings again and prepares to attack me, but I don't plan to defend myself as he did. I start to run diagonally to avoid his attack and, at the same time, get closer to his position.
The vulture jumps to try to aim his attack at me. Unlike my cutting wind, whose range is higher and is shaped like a laido, his is a ball of wind with a radius of 1 meter. During the fight between the two vultures in the sky, I saw how they tried to aim at each other.
When I am 2 meters away from the vulture, he throws his attack at me, so I stop and jump backward to dodge his attack and run back towards him. As I already use his winged shield, he can't defend himself from my attacks, so I perform a basic attack to cut the vulture's head off. Still, his neck is as strong as a log and only leaves a shallow cut. The vulture goes crazy and uses his other ability, releasing a horrifying sound that forces Kawaii and me to cover our ears. It was like two pieces of rusty metal rubbing together.
Which causes me to be stunned for two seconds, which I use to peck my chest to tear my flesh.
[-50 HP]
[-43 HP]
[-84 HP]
[You are under the effect of Slight bleeding]
[Slight Bleeding]
[You lose 10 HP every 10 seconds for 60 seconds].
The vulture not only manages to tear it through my chest but also causes me to bleed slightly. When the stunned state goes away, I squeeze my sword harder and cut the vulture's neck once and for all, it was like using an ax to chop firewood, but I don't have time for that.
[You have used antiseptic alcohol]
[You're no longer under the effect of Slight Bleeding]
[You have used basic HP potion LV 2].
I've barely finished using these items when I see more iron vultures approaching me to attack me, but I don't plan to make the same mistake.
Cutting wind!
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
I release the cutting wind ability and run towards the nearest vulture. When they see the wind about to hit them, they start to use their wings to protect themselves.
When the wind hits the vultures, I am already a meter away from one of them. When this vulture feels the impact of the wind, it starts to raise its wings to attack, but as soon as it makes that movement, I am about to cut its neck.
I use all my strength this time, and his neck flies off, but I don't stop to see the result. I quickly run diagonally towards the next target.
When the vulture notices that I am heading in its direction, it starts to jump and raise its wings to attack me, so I wait until the last moment to jump back and dodge its attack.
When I am barely 5 meters away, he releases his wind ball, which I dodge with a leap to the right, and now I run in a straight line and cut his neck.
Apparently, when he saw that I was heading towards him, he got desperate and threw his wind ball at me to get me to move away, which didn't work.
Once I defeated this monster, I continued with the next one, and so on until I defeated them all, which caused them to stop climbing up the mountain cliff.
The good news is that the fight is over. The bad news is that I could only hunt 28 fierce vultures, and I lack 22 to get another achievement and increase my stats more. Anyway, I still have 2 minutes left of the possession state, so I will use this short time to practice and glide with the wings on my back.
So I place Kawaii on a rock to avoid any kind of trouble.
* Kawaii, I'm going to practice one thing, wait on this rock for a minute.
* Kiiii (・3・).
With Kawaii out of the way, I climb a tree nearby and make it to the top. I see I'm two or three meters in the air as I look up. While I don't have acrophobia, being at this height and looking down is a little scary. Luckily this height can't kill me...I think.....
* *sigh* okay, okay, here we go!
I run a bit, jump from the top of the tree, and spread my wings, which is difficult as they are heavy, but I still manage it and start gliding as if I were a paper airplane. It feels like I know what I have to do, although it's the first time I have done something like that.
It's as if you were a plane that can't make sharp turns, I notice that I'm two meters away from falling to the ground, so I lean up in a position where my feet touch the ground. At the same time, I flap my wings hard to slow down the fall's speed and land on the ground.
The flight lasted about a minute, but I got about 20 meters away from my starting point, so I returned to the top to pick up Kawaii.
* Kiii!!! (ᕗ ͠° ਊ ͠° )ᕗ
* What, you want to fly too?
* Kiii!!! (✿◠‿◠)
* When I use possession again, I'll take you along. Is that okay with you?
* Ki! (⌐■_■)
While waiting for my ability to become available again, I start scanning the surroundings to see if I find anything I can pick up, which I do, as I see the faint light released by the herbs.
After 30 minutes of collecting herbs, I stop and see a cave, which, although I would like to explore it, I can not do, because there is only 1 hour and 30 minutes until dark. I must use this time to hunt another 22 iron vultures and try to collect the eggs in their nests.
I leave this place marked in my notebook and leave some marks of the vicinity and return to the slope where I was. I return to look over the cliff, but now no longer appears a wild head of a vulture, and I can see the mountain's precipice calmly.
I notice some vultures clinging to the rocks and plants growing on this side. Some have small caves. In contrast, others use the trees as a roof, but there are many vultures that it would be difficult to steal the eggs from their nests.
* Any ideas on how to steal their Kawaii eggs?
* Ki! (ง -̀_-́)ง
* Em, I don't think I can beat them all on air.
* Kiii (◔_◔).
In fact, I have no idea how to fight in the air, so it's best to avoid that for now. The only solution I see is to lure them over here. That way, I can beat them without worrying.
Possession!
I grab my sword and get ready for what's coming.
Cutting wind!
I release my ability to attract the vultures below me, which works as I see how some start to climb using their legs.
I move away from the edge of the mountain and wait for it to arrive. When they finally climb, it starts to raise its wings to attack me, but as I already know its attack pattern, I don't worry and start the fight.
...
After 7 minutes, the vultures stopped rising. Still, it doesn't matter since I managed to hunt 24 of them, and with it, an achievement that increased my MP/Stamina +10 and Intelligence+2.
I still have 3 minutes left until the possession effect runs out, so I want to take advantage of them to observe the nests of these birds and steal their eggs, so I go back a few steps and jump from the mountain to the void.
I spread my wings and glide around the mountain, searching for the vultures' nests, which is not difficult with my passive detection skill. The bad thing is that I see only two nests that have more than one egg, and they are the ones that are protected by several vultures.
While I am in the air gliding, the other vultures watch me and prepare to attack me when I get close to their nests, while others jump to catch me.
This turns into a chase in the air where we slowly fall to the ground. At that moment, I see the vultures where they were guarding several eggs jump, which allows me to pick one up.
Slowly and carefully, I raise my wings to lift myself up a bit and get to that nest, which is very complicated. However, I still manage to lift myself up enough to land on the nest, but the vultures start landing nearby and climbing with their legs to get to me. It's time to use this.
Screech!
I release a horrible sound that leaves all the vultures nearby stunned for two seconds, long enough to grab an egg and fly out of there.
When the vultures regain their senses, they start chasing me, but I'm already on the other side of the mountain. I hid in the trees and went back up the mountain to avoid finding me because they would find me if I went down the mountain.
...
Once I reached the top of the mountain, I started to rest and see the fruit of my labor, I didn't have time to see it in detail, but now I can, the iron vulture egg. It is white with gray spots and has the same size as Kawaii. I hope it sells well.
There are still 19 minutes left until I can use possession once more, so I take this time to rest and observe the view from up here. From here you can see the city of Fanfer. In contrast, you can only see a long stretch of forests in the surroundings, with some mountains equal to or smaller than these. There is also a lake 1 or 3 kilometers from here. Still, I'm unsure as I can't measure the depth well.
I might as well go gliding through the air to reach the city of Fanfer without having to cross the forest, which would save me a lot of trouble.
* What do you say, Kawaii, shall we fly back to the city?
* Ki! (๑-́ ヮ -̀๑)
* .. ah! Come to think of it.
I take out the steel swords in which the sky-scaled lizard and the iron vulture are sealed and place them in front of me.
* I think we should name these swords, what do you think of that?
* Kiii!!! (-̀ᴗ-́)و ̑̑̑
* okay, okay, I was thinking of calling the sword with the lizard "Scale" and the sword with the vulture "Butcher" what do you think.
* Ki! (▲ᴗ▲)ノ
* Really, then it's decided.
I put the swords away and wait until they can use the possession skill again. Once the remaining 18 minutes are up, I get up from the floor and take out "Butcher."
Possession!
Once that's done, I jump off the mountain and glide through the air towards Fanfer.
