After a 5 minute run, I returned to the area where the butterflies were, which was easily recognizable by the cut trees. I took out the binoculars and checked the area to make sure there were no more butterflies.
I started checking the site, and indeed there were no butterflies, so I started reviewing this area of the forest for their nests.
If I remember correctly, butterflies usually lay their eggs on the leaves of trees. Still, in this case, I don't think they are there because if we take into account their size, which is 50 centimetres, their eggs must be between 2-5 centimetres and their weight at least 1 kilogram, which is too much for a leaf to support a single one unless the eggs are placed on branches or a giant tree, but that unlikely because when I was flying, I didn't see any big tree.
In any case, their eggs should not be in trees. There must be a hidden area where they place them, perhaps in a cave or a hollow tree. In any case, I must check carefully.
I take out the binoculars again and see if there are any butterflies around, but I don't see any. What I do find is a large concentration of scales which are scattered everywhere, indicating that they were in this area.
I begin to check the area looking for a great abundance of these scales. In theory, if there are many of them, the butterflies spend more time in that place, so I start to go deeper into the forest, but this time I walk, because the possession time is over. I do not want to risk fighting against another accumulation of hypnotic butterflies.
As I go deeper, I begin to notice that the scales are accumulating more and more, which indicates that I am approaching a very crowded place, but for safety, I use the binoculars again to see the surroundings; at first, I do not see anything, but when I see the ground, I realize something.
In a tree in the background, there is a slight elevation of land that can quickly go unnoticed if you see it from afar. Still, if you look carefully, you will notice that it is strange because it does not seem to arise naturally. I then look at the tree's roots and see that they are not inclined. This would lean a little by that slight elevation if it were a typical tree. Only if you see this do you notice that there is something strange.
I move slowly and focus the binoculars on the tree trunk. Still, I can't notice anything, I also look around, and I don't see any hypnotic butterflies. Maybe I'm just paranoid?
* *whisper* Kawaii... do you notice anything weird about that tree?
* *kii* ¯\(°_o)/¯
* *whisper* I might be a bit paranoid, but I don't feel comfortable.
* *kii* ( ゜-゜ノ).
To be sure, I continue to look at the tree for another 10 minutes, but still, nothing happens. My possession skill is available again, so now I can transform again; now, the doubt is should I transform and attack from a distance to that tree.
No... I know what to do.
Possession!
I use possession, and I transform back into my vulture version. Still, before attacking with cutting wind, I take out a blinding grenade and the wooden slingshot, and I put my sword in my mouth so I don't lose the possession effect. Then I turn the timer disk in 15 seconds and put it in the slingshot, then I aim at the strange tree and wait until there are only 7 seconds left.
10...9...8...7 now!!!
I fire the grenade, and it flies off towards the strange tree at 1 meter per second. The tree is 9 meters away, so it won't hit the tree. Then I start counting in my head the remaining time 5...4...3...2...2...go!
I take cover behind a tree and cover my eyes and Kawaii's and wait for the sound of the explosion. It is then that a sound like someone hitting a cup arises. The sound is very shrill but not to the point that it bothers you. I open my eyes and look back in the direction of the strange tree.
It is then when I see it, at the foot of the tree falls a 3-meter long butterfly, its wings are in an open position and have the same colour with lines pattern as the tree where it was clinging, I can also see that it is shaking, but it is very slight, maybe the shaking was produced by the sound of the blinding grenade, which caused temporary tinnitus.

This took a long time to explain, but in reality, it only took a second, so I started to sprint toward the butterfly to kill it as fast as I could. As soon as I was 1 meter away, the butterfly began to move in an attempt to get up, so I gave it a basic attack on the head. Still, its head is too hard, and I only manage to make it hit the ground, which causes it to start flapping its wings to get up again.
Cutting wind!
As I'm just a few centimetres away from its body, the attack causes it to make a full impact, causing multiple lacerations on its body, making it flap even more.
One of its wings hits me, which causes it to remove some HP and push me 5 meters away.
[-140 HP]
The 3-meter hypnotic butterfly stands up and starts flapping its wings, but due to the cuts from my cutting wind, it can't rise, so it starts screaming and shooting mental rays at me.
* Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!
I start running from one side to the other, dodging and taking an HP potion. At the same time, I wait for cutting wind to be available again, to which 15 seconds are missing. Still, I feel like they were an eternity because this butterfly throws so many mental rays as if they were worthless.
* Almost there... 3...2...1...at last!
Now that my skill is ready, I run towards the hypnotic butterfly while continuing to dodge. When I'm 10 feet away, I attack.
Screech!
I use screech to stun this monster, and then momentarily...
Cutting wind!
I unleash the skill at point-blank range, which causes me to get splattered with some of its pink-coloured blood and then fall to the ground.
I'm about to give it another basic hit. I walk away, but that becomes unnecessary as the notification tells me it's already dead.
[You have hunted hypnotic butterfly (mother)]
So it turns out it's the mother of butterflies, which explains its size, strength, camouflage and why the binoculars couldn't show the question marks. Its rank maybe C-, but now another problem arises.
If this butterfly is the mother? If this butterfly is the father, there's no way he hasn't heard the commotion of this fight, so there are only three answers.
1. He's not around.
2. He's on his way.
3. He can't come.
But I'm leaning more towards the third option. Now the question is, why can't he come, is he trapped, or is he guarding something?
If he's trapped somewhere, that's good news, but it must be the nest if he's guarding something. Maybe he's around here somewhere?
I start checking around the trees, the roots of the trees and even move the scale mounds to see if there is a hole or something like that, but I find nothing. Maybe I am overthinking, and there is no nest nearby, but if there are none nearby, why are there so many butterflies? It is impossible to repeat the same situation in the Torata forest. It is an adventurer attracting the hypnotic butterflies.
* What am I overlooking? Any idea why there are so many Kawaii butterflies?
* Ki! (*・‿・)ノ⌒*:・゚✧
* I don't think it's by magic. It would be dangerous if someone learned that kind of magic. another idea?
* Kiii ('・ω・)っ
* The tree?
* Ki! (`∇')
With Kawaii's recommendation, I checked the tree where the mother butterfly was. Still, I didn't see anything abnormal, so I started tapping it from all sides and even knocking on it as if it were a door, but at that, I noticed something, and that is the sound it makes when I hit it is a bit hollow.
I start to hit the other trees with that clue, but they don't make the hollow sound, so I go back and hit it again. As I do so, I hear the hollow sound again, which confirms that there is something here, but it is not visible, so I start climbing the tree to see if there is anything strange.
I start to climb up the tree trunk while moving branches and leaves that block my way to the top of the tree, and when I see something incredible.
It turns out that before I get to the end, there is a hole in the middle of the tree, which is big enough for the mother butterfly to enter and through which I can get in.
The bad thing is that I have to remove my vulture transformation, as my wings take up a lot of space, so I have no choice but to undo my possession. So I put away my sword and took out my survival flashlight to see how deep the hole was. I pointed my flashlight and saw that its depth was between 8 and 10 meters, so I will need a longer rope.
* "SYSTEM αβΩ" searches for a 20-meter interlocking rope.
The system starts searching for the interlocking rope and gives me three options, but I choose the one that costs ten gold for safety. I also spend another two gold coins to buy a climbing harness so I won't have problems climbing back up.
[Mammoth climber rope (20 meters)]
[Description: A rope made to be robust, hard to break, you could tie up your mother-in-law and drag her out of your house without her being able to free herself, i.e. it's very strong 20/10]
[Climbing harness]
[Description: A piece of equipment used for climbing up and down mountains, you could even put it on a pig, and this harness would support it easily]
I put on the climbing harness, started tying the rope on the thickest branches of the trees, and started climbing down the hole in the trunk little by little. I also put on my reading glasses to have night vision and avoid any complications.
As I go down, I see that there are butterfly scales everywhere, which forces me to slow down as these start to fly into my eyes and nose, causing me to itch a bit.
When I get to the bottom, I see a dirt tunnel going straight, so I take off my harness and start to crawl into the tunnel slowly, but I do it with extreme care, as I am afraid of getting buried.
I feel as if I were a prisoner escaping from prison and having to crawl through a tunnel to freedom. I keep crawling for more than 20 meters when I finally see the end.
It reveals a cave of 10 or 15 square meters full of leaves and plants, in which lie yellow eggs of 5 centimetres high, all grouped, while in front is a butterfly attached to the wall as if it were resting.
I look around the cave, and I see several yellow eggs. There are at least 100 of them, but now a problem arises... how do I get rid of the father butterfly without destroying the eggs? But more importantly, how do I do it without destroying the cave?
