Chapter 50: The harassment of a boy.

Chapter 50: The harassment of a boy.

Come to think of it, since there is a Halloween event, will there also be a Christmas one? Or other holidays?

I think I need to find out more about that, but I'll have to do it tomorrow because I don't have time to be in the library anymore. And in case I find any books about that, I'll have to ask someone I know, the question is who should I ask?

I doubt that Hakoon knows because, from what I've noticed, he is only interested in blacksmithing, which leaves Alvar, Siri, and Indis. I could also ask Tara, Lety, Fiona, Asuka, or Theo, but I don't have much friendship with them, so I have to rule them out.

While I was thinking about that, I left the library. I started walking towards the academy entrance to go to the central square and eat something. While I was in the middle of the way, a person hit me in the back.

* You're leaving so soon already.

* Eh?

When I turn my head, I see that the person who hit me on the back is Siri, which surprises me, not only because I take the initiative to start a conversation but also because her characteristic and elegant black suit that highlights her figure has been changed by a colored jean with white shoes and a loose gray shirt which gives her an air of freedom and maturity.

* Siri: What's wrong?

* No... nothing... it's just that you took me by surprise.

* Siri: Is that so surprising?

* To tell you the truth, yes, by the way, where are you going?

* Siri: I'm going to eat at a restaurant in the central square, aren't you?

* Also, shall we eat together?

* Siri: Sure, but you're paying.

* Then no.

* Siri: ...are you serious?

* Yes.

* Siri: ... aren't you a gentleman?

* May I remind you that this gentleman had his paycheck taken away, so he's short on cash.

* Siri: Didn't you collect the money from the mission to hunt the crystal fox?

* At no time did I say I took the mission. I just said I hunted the fox.

* Siri: So you just went into the forest to catch it?

* Exactly.

* Siri: ... Why?

* For various reasons, where are we going to eat in any case?

* Siri: I was thinking of having sushi, but since you say you're short of money, let's go for a pizza.

* Perfect, I'll have a pineapple one.

* Siri: Fuck you, how dare you order a pizza and contaminate it with pineapple.

* Hey, don't judge without tasting.

* Siri: I already tried it, and I didn't like it. Who would think of combining salty and sweet and then putting it in the oven?

And so, Marco and Siri began to argue about the taste of pineapple pizza while they were walking to the Italian restaurant, not realizing that the people around them could hear them.

After 10 minutes of walking, they arrived at the Italian restaurant. However, they still couldn't reach a consensus on the pineapple pizza.

* *sigh* In the end, we couldn't reach an agreement.

* Siri: *sigh* In any case, what pizza should we order.

* Let's see what other pizzas you have first.

* Siri: Okay.

We walked into the restaurant and started looking at the different types of pizza there. In the end, we chose the four seasons of pizza to try different flavors.

While we were eating, we also started talking about different topics.

* Siri: Marco...

* Yes?

* Siri: Why are you acting like that?

* What do you mean?

* Siri: From the little I know you, I can tell you don't take things seriously. Sometimes you behave unpredictably, sometimes immaturely, and sometimes you are very smart. What exactly are you?

* ... To be honest, I have no idea. I just go with the flow as long as it doesn't go against my principles.

* Siri: Principles?

* Exactly, one of them is to give back twice as much. If someone treats me well, I will treat them well, but I will treat them worse if they maltreat me.

* Siri: Isn't that like the saying: An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth?

* That's right.

* Siri: Now I'm worried about taking your paycheck.

* Hahaha, don't worry, I'm not that vindictive. I can tell the difference when I make a mistake and make sure I pay the right price. In that case, it was my fault for treating the students that way. I think it's only fair the punishment you gave me.

* Siri: For some reason, I feel that you are trying to prevent me from punishing you in another way.

* Not at all. In any case, do you happen to know when the Halloween event will take place?

* Siri: The nexus planet event? I think it will be in 3 years, for now, people are preparing for the "ONE SKILL" competition.

* ONE SKILL competition?

* Siri: It's a kind of tournament where rank A+ or lower adventurers participate in 1vs1 combat. You can only use one active skill while the rest is sealed. As for equipment, only your primary weapon and clothing are allowed, you can't use other items, and you lose when your HP reaches 1.

* And what are the prizes?

* Siri: They haven't been announced, but they must be incredible since it's run by the royal family. Are you going to participate? You will have to wait 1 year and 6 months if you do.

* If the prizes are good, then I will participate.

After that, we go back to eating the pizza, and I say goodbye to Siri as she tells me we should eat together again.

As I walk away, I head to another restaurant to have a coffee with some toast and ask Kawaii for a fruit plate. I didn't give her pizza for fear that it would hurt her.

...

Ten minutes later, we leave the restaurant and head home. Although it's still early, as I have nothing to do, I take a bath and go to bed, but not before checking that the alarm clock is on because I don't want to go through the same thing again.

...

The following day, as soon as the alarm clock rings, I get out of bed and start my morning routine of taking a bath, changing into my work clothes, having breakfast, and walking to the academy.

As soon as I arrive at the academy, I go directly to the "effort center" to prepare everything, especially the students' contracts, because today I have to teach the students of class 3C.

Once I finish writing the sheets, I hear the sound of footsteps approaching in my direction, so I put everything else away and look at the students of class 3C. I run into the surprise that there are 3 people I know.

* Lindsy: Hi, Coach Marco

* Tara: Mr. Marco, I see you are early.

* Lety: Coach, how are you?

* Are you guys in class 3C?

* Tara: I didn't know?

* I thought you were in the same class as Indis.

* Lety: Of course not. Indis is in class 1A. We are in 3C, while Fiona and Asuka are in 4D.

* I see, so tomorrow it will be my turn to teach them, but first, they will have to sign this.

* Tara: Are you really going to make us sign that?

* If you want to be in my class, yes, if not, bye-bye.

* Lindsy: Give me the sheet. I'll sign it right now.

* Lety: Wow, since when did you become so active?

* Lindsy: I'm just being honest.

* Tara: Leave it, Lety. Let's start signing anyway.

With that said, Lindsy, Tara, and Lety signed the document without any problem. As for the other students, when the content of the sheet was explained to them, they were surprised by that, and some did not sign it, resulting in only ten students. Three of them are Lindsy, Tara, and Lety.

* Well, now, without further ado, let's get started.

I started to do a little jogging, repeating the same routine that happened on my first day of work, solving doubts and giving them a sheet with a training routine for each one. What surprised me was Lindsy's progress because she asked me for a practice confrontation.

I noticed that her "acceleration" skill has improved because her movement with her feet was very fluid. I don't know if she evolved her skill or improved her physique. In any case, it was a good fight that also helped me to improve my coordination.

As for Tara and Lety, neither of them is interested in being an adventurer; instead, Tara wants to make enchanted rings, and Lety is interested in creating potions. Even so, I gave them a basic training regimen so they could at least defend themselves from other people. Once the class was over, I went to eat at the restaurant.

...

* Did you like the food today, Kawaii?

* Ki! (⌒▽⌒)

* Well, I didn't. I feel it lacked flavor.

I feel like today's meal was too simple, or maybe it's because I'm used to other flavors that I can't enjoy the same way as when I first tasted them. It was normal but not delicious, for next time I'll eat somewhere else.

I walk towards the library as usual, and I meet Theo again, sitting in his seat while reading some books.

* Huh? That's right...

I start to look at Theo carefully and notice that he has a bruise on his hand, plus there are several cuts on his face, which are not from training but from a fight.

I start walking towards Theo looking for answers, hoping it's nothing bad.

* Hello Theo.

* Theo: Ah! Hi coach.

When Marco speaks to him, you can see how nervous Theo is, as if he's afraid of what might happen, plus his body movements have become more rigid. You can even see scratches on his arms, which only occur when you fall.

* What's the matter? Why are you so nervous?

* Theo: What? No, nothing like that. I was just surprised, that's all.

* ... Theo... tell me what's wrong...

* Theo: Nothing's wrong, professor. I'm fine...

* THAT'S BULLSHIT! TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!

Marco's scream causes all the people in the library to panic. It turns their heads in the direction of the source of the sound, only to observe a boy sitting motionless while a man looks at him intensely. But if people had the ability "eyes of the soul," they would notice that this man is emitting a kind of chilling dark red aura, as if a primordial and terrifying monster, a product of the nightmares of a nefarious being, was about to break free and provoke a massacre.

* Theo: Coach, it's nothing.

* ...you got hit, didn't you?

* Theo: No...

* ...who was...

* Theo: Nobody...

* ...it was those meat bags you have for partners...wasn't it?

* Theo: ...

* ...I see...come with me.

* Theo: Please don't hit them.

* Hit them? That's a very light punishment. I thought of chaining their legs together and releasing them into the forest to face the Wolf’s.

* Theo: Coach, please don't do that.

* ...why are you defending them?

* Theo: I just... I don't want them to get in trouble.

* ...I see, then we'll do something else, follow me.
