"My aid? What could the oracle of the elves need from me? Isn't he the avatar of Yggdrasil, blessed with immense nature magic?"

"Yes. However, what we need help with cannot be solved even with Grandfather's power. According to the vision Grandfather was given by the World Tree, only "the one who shall be the bane of all demons" can solve this problem. We originally thought this bane of all demons would be Eve Forger, the captain of the Demon Hunter Corps, but after we were informed of you and your unique energy, Grandfather decided it must be you who was mentioned in the prophecy."

"So, what is this problem anyways? I'm not exactly the most versatile when it comes to thing I can do. The only thing I can do is fight with my sword."

"And that is precisely what we need, Mr. Hellwalker. Three thousand years ago, the World Tree gave our ancestors a warning that the delicate balance maintaining our world was broken, and that demonkind was no longer suppressed by the laws of the world. Our ancestors did not really understand what this meant, but the oracle of that time wrote it down anyways. Now, the World Tree's branch that lies in our world has been infected with strong demonic energy. It's begun to wither at an alarming rate, and the Great Forest's plants and wildlife are suffering due to the diminishing vitality of the forest. Even the Nature Magic granted to us elves by the world tree has been weakened greatly. We suspect it's the work of a traitorous elf who contracted with a demon. This isn't the first time this has happened, but usually when it happens the World Tree would send the Preservers, its powerful servants from other worlds, to heal this branch. However, the preservers have not been sent this time."

"This is sad and all, but what do you want from me? I'm not a healer."

"We understand, Mr. Hellwalker. However, what you need from you is for you to grow your Demon Slaying Energy enough to be equal to ten star aura, the come use it to purge the demonic energy affecting the world tree. We offer you a Crystal of Yggdrasil as an upfront payment, and a first grade World Tree's Blessing, equal to what my grandfather has, once you complete the mission."

"What's a Crystal of Yggdrasil?"

"This." Myriana handed Henry a crystal that seemed to be made of solidified tree sap. It had a beautiful shine to it, and Henry could feel a lot of mana coming from it. "Once you register your soul inside this crystal by giving it some of your aura, or Demon Slaying Energy in your case, it gives you chance to revive when you are slain, in a much more powerful reconstructed body. Some even use it and end their own lives so they can benefit from the body reformation. Of course, I personally think the revival chance is much more precious than body reformation which could be done through other methods."

Henry was greatly surprised. An opportunity to revive when slain....

Just the idea was baffling for him, who was kind of scared of what dangers he would meet in Hell. He also thought the Blessing of Yggdrasil would be amazing. It was what gave elves their longevity and gave them their pure mana and extraordinary strength. Both of these things were amazing, and all he needed to do to get them was go to the Great Forest when his Demon Slaying Energy was equal to ten star aura.

"Alright, I accept your offer. Is there a way to contact you?"

"Yes. Take this orb and inject some aura into it. It'll then cause a linked orb on our end to vibrate, and once we answer, we can talk through them."

"Alright, thank you."

"No, thank you, Mr. Hellwalker. We hope to hear from you soon." The small elf put her cloak back on and left the alley, disappearing into the shadows.

'Let's get this crystal thing working. It seems my name has begun to spread, and not all who hear it will have such favorable impressions. Hell, I'm sure the demon worshippers are already plotting against me somehow.'

Henry grabbed the crystal and injected some Demon Slaying Energy into it, which the crystal kept absorbing. As more of his energy was absorbed, a miniature figure of his body was forming inside the crystal, similar to a portrait. After he gave almost all his energy, the image was complete and the crystal stopped absorbing his mana.

A new main quest has emerged:

3- Purify the World Tree's branch from the demonic energy poisoning it:

Missions:

-Reach level 90 Demon Slaying Energy, equal to ten star aura.

-Purge the demonic energy in the branch

You have registered your soul in the Crystal of Yggdrasil. You now have one revival chance, and your body will be reformed once you use it.

'Hoh? It's a main quest? It seems there's something beyond just a demon contractor being a menace here.'

With this, Henry walked back home. He made a modest dinner for himself, just some stew, some boiled meat, and a salad.

He lied down on his bed after he finished his meal.

'I miss you already, Mirna.'

And so, after thinking for a while more, Henry fell asleep, looking forward to getting his sword tomorrow.
