A cute, smiling little blonde girl who was hardly seven or eight ran towards the door excitedly after hearing a knock.
"Daddy!" The little girl opens the door, and in comes a tall, slightly muscular, dark-haired man in light armor. He put his sheathed sword on the table, kneeled down and hugged the little girl.
"Ah, good afternoon, Ella. How's your day been?"
"Great, Daddy. You must come and look at this drawing I made!"
"Ella, don't bother your father. He must be tired from work." A soft voice could be heard from inside the house. "It's okay, dear. Who else would bother me if not my little sunshine?"
"I swear, you spoil her too much"
Ella had been listening quietly, smiling when her father called her his "little sunshine". Henry followed his daughter inside, seeing her drawing, which was of him riding a badly drawn horse.
"Haha, Ella, I'm not part of the cavalry unit. But I suppose I won't say no to that. They get paid very well."

Then, Mirna, Henry's wife walked in. She was a blonde woman in her 30s or so, and it was clear that if she took care of herself a bit more, she'd be a great beauty. Once Henry saw his wife, he hugged her, causing her to giggle.
"Am I gonna get a little sister or brother soon, Daddy?"
"W-what?! Umm.....Where did you hear that, Ella?"
"Well, Mommy told me babies come when a man and a woman love each other, and you and Mommy clearly do!"
Hearing this, Henry and Mirna couldn't help but chuckle.
"Do you want a little sibling, Ella?" Asked Mirna, amused.
"No, then I'd have to share Mommy and Daddy's love."
After talking for a while, the three-person family had dinner together, after which Ella went to sleep, as her father had come home quite late, so it was already about her bedtime.
In their bedroom, Mirna and Henry were lying next in each other's arms.
"Henry?"
"Yeah? What's up?"
"Uhh.....My brother came again today. He told me that if I don't leave you and come back to the palace, he'll get you fired from the army."
Henry's smiling face turned serious. "What did you say to him?"
"I just told him to leave, though he clearly wasn't very content with my decision."
"Ugh, damn this all! Does that fucker think royals are beyond human? He's so pissy about the fact you decided to abandon your royal status and come live with me, when that was because of him in the first place! Wasn't it him who said "If you wish to be with that peasant, abandon your royal name. We can't have the princess of the empire get married to a filthy peasant."?"
"Sigh. I wish I could do anything about this, but my father wouldn't antagonize his successor for some girl he was gonna marry off to some noble."
"I promise you, Mirna, once I save up enough money to buy a baron title, your brother's ability to bother us will greatly decrease. Also, I'll try to do my best during this upcoming war with the Northern Barbarians. Maybe if I make some accomplishments, I'll be able to cash in the military merit and buy that baron title."
".....Dear, please promise me that you won't get hurt there. I don't care about some title or whatever, I just want you. That's why I gave up the royal status in the first place."
"Of course, darling. I promise."
