After leaving the market, Captain Even looked at Henry.
"Damn, kid, where'd you get that speech from? The old man was clearly very impressed."
"Well, I said it and meant it. I guess I was just really passionate. My wife just died earlier today because of demon, y'know? If there's someone who wants to kill them all, it'd be me."
Eve put her hand on Henry's shoulder.
"Cheer up. You can go have your revenge very soon. Our next expedition to Hell is at the start of the next month, and I plan to take you with me."
"Will I really be able to achieve Knight level in a few days?"
"Yes, don't worry. I have a plan for you."
After walking a bit more, they arrived at the Cathedral and went back to the training room.
"Alright, do you know the differences between the different Weapon Mastery levels?"
"Yes. A Novice can hold a sword, a Squire can use sword techniques and imbue aura into his weapon, a Knight can use the Mind's Eye, a King can use Sword Will, an Emperor achieves Body-Sword Unity, as for Conquerors and Saints, nobody knows except themselves."
"Exactly. Now, can you explain what Mind's Eye is?"
"The Mind's Eye is to have a "sixth sense" of sorts that can sense things without using any of the five senses."
"Do you know how it works?"
"Uhhh...No."
"To do it, you must awaken an embryonic version of the Sword Will, a physical manifestation of your will similar to aura, but independent on mana to manifest. Then, you must be able to spread it out over a long distance and use it to feel, similar to the webs in a spider's nest."
"I see. And umm, how do you awaken this embryonic Sword Will?"
"Simple. You're going to drink this potion, which disables all five senses. Then, I'll beat the crap out of you until you can feel me."
Henry didn't find it the idea of getting beaten up by this two-meter-tall giantess very appealing, but he reminded himself of why he was doing this, and how his daughter must be frightened right now. He clutched his fists with a determined look on his face.
"Very well."
"Hahahaha, I like your resolve. Here ya go."
Eve handed the potion to Henry, who chugged it down immediately. It tasted surprisingly good, similar to grilled fish.
"Alright, give it a minute to kick in."
With this minute, Henry felt all his five senses grow increasingly weak, until eventually, he couldn't feel, see, hear, smell or taste anything at all. Despite that, he could hear a system message.
[You have entered sensory deprivation training. From now on, every hit you take will give you 1 Sword Mastery exp, and each hit you avoid will give you 10 Sword Mastery exp. Note: As Will is shared between Masteries, once you awaken your Will, getting to intermediate Squire level in any other Mastery will automatically push you to Knight level.]
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
This greatly pleased Henry. He couldn't feel anything, so he didn't know when Captain Eve would start hitting him. However, he could tell with the system. The part about shared Will also pleased him.
"Please start, Captain Eve" He talked, but he couldn't hear himself.Soon after, he heard a system message.
[You have received an attack during Sensory Deprivation Training. +1 Mastery Exp] [You have received an attack during Sensory Deprivation Training. +1 Mastery Exp] [You have received an attack during Sensory Deprivation Training. +1 Mastery Exp] [You have received an attack during Sensory Deprivation Training. +1 Mastery Exp] [You have received an attack during Sensory Deprivation Training. +1 Mastery Exp] Henry couldn't feel the pain from the hits, so he didn't really mind this. Plus, he was sure Captain Eve was healing him after each hit.
[A few hours later]
[You have received an attack during Sensory Deprivation Training. +1 Mastery Exp. Note: You have reached the maximum Exp of intermediate tier Squire; to reach advanced tier, you must avoid one attack during Sensory Deprivation Training]
'I see. Well, if all you had to do become stronger was get hit, everybody would become a Weapon Saint.'
Throughout these past few hours, Henry has felt something within him changing. He couldn't exactly state what it is, but it felt as if something was "expanding". He assumed this was his Will, and now at max Exp, it had grown enough to be usable, and he had to actually use it and dodge a hit. While he was thinking this, he felt his senses returning. After a while, he could see clearly enough to see Captain Eve standing next to him while holding a bamboo sword.
"Hey, Hellwalker, can you hear me?"
"Y-yes. How long has it been?"
"Three hours"
"Three hours? I've been getting beaten up for that long?"
"Yeah. Anyways, do you feel anything different?"
"Yes. My Will is definitely powerful enough to be usable now."
"Good, good. You now have to start dodging, not just getting beaten up."
"I see. I assume the potion's effect ran out?"
"Yes. You also can't take another potion for 24 hours, so just go rest at home now. Your assignment during this month is to swing your sword ten thousand consecutive times every day. This was the training method suggested by the Sword Saint Kim Tae-Hyuk in his autobiography."
"Ten thousand? Wouldn't my arms give out?"
"That's the point, dumbass. When your mind and body are at their limit and your adrenaline levels are through the roof, you'll experience the ultimate form of clarity and enlightenment. That's what the Sword Saint says."
"I see. Thank you, Captain. I'll head home now."
"Alright. Come here by 8 tomorrow."
"Yes, ma'am."
With this, Henry walked back home. Even though he had been healed, healing could not heal his tired mind. He hadn't done much during this Sensory Deprivation Training, but he guessed the expansion of his Will tired his mind somehow. On his way home, he grabbed some take out from an inn near his house.
Once he was home, he devoured the food and decided to start the ten thousand sword swings.
'One, two, three, four, five.......'
An hour or so later, he was at the 5467th swing. He couldn't feel his arms already and wanted to give up.

"Daily quests? That's cool. I assume they repeat each day? Well, let's complete that first one. I can't do the second one here anyways."
Henry then barely completed all ten thousand swings.
[Daily quest "Swing your sword 10000 times" completed]
Soon, Henry went to rest, happy to finally end this very long day.
