Vol. 2 chapter 16 interlude

Haruka's pov

The sun was setting, We were inside a fairly empty train car, Yuuki-kun was sitting in the center while Hikari-chan were on the sides, the two of them were telling each other stories about their encounters in the game so far, after the mission the three of us added each other in our friend list.

While in the train ride it was soothing enough that all of us dozed off into a nap.

Before I fell asleep I was reminiscing about the moment when I had fallen off the edge earlier…I didn't expect Yuuki-kun to immediately leap off to try saving me, He always was selfless when it came to his friends.

Which did not make me feel better about how I failed to keep him safe when he was in danger but he didnt fail to keep me safe, thinking about it he was special to me.

It also reminded me on how when we were still in middle school, He always shared lunch with me when we were alone in return I tended to help him out with homework, when I was visiting during the closing party before Senko-kun, Kana-chan and Yuuki-kun was about to enter highschool, I was already about to be a sophomore.

Yuuki-kun kept repeating to himself he didn't wanna go to school anymore, During that time I heard from him that his and Akane-chan's Aunt had fallen very ill and he wanted to stay by her side until she recovered even if it meant no longer studying. I scolded him for that mindset and how that wasn't how his aunt would like his faith to be.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

I guess my words stuck with him because he kept studying, his aunt had a miraculous recovery and He was now my Kohai in high school.

He didn't started treating me like some Master he had to appease, We were still friends that just happened to have a Senpai-kohai relationship, and he didn't feel the need to act like I should be treated in any Special way, the other students kept treating me in a high regard almost a queen-like manner but Yuuki-kun always understood the struggle of being “on top” i, can't help but admire him in return…

“Hmm…” rubbing my eyes, I snapped back awake. Looking to my right, Hikari-chan and Yuuki-kun were asleep, slumping over each other's shoulders like a couple does.

Yuuki-kun worked so hard today, It's best to let him have a shoulder to rest on. I slowly moved his head on to my shoulder and gave him a pat on the head.

A while later we arrived at the train station, Hikari-chan and Yuuki-kun were the first to get up since I was pretending to be asleep to avoid awkwardness.

Exiting the train, Yuuki-kun logged off first and Hikari followed before I followed soon.

You are now leaving Kyoryu Online.

Taking off the Headset I opened my phone, I had a notification from my friend Akari.

A: “Haruka, Let's go buy some milktea tomorrow”

H: “Sure I don't mind!”

A: “Oh right were you busy today, I was trying to call earlier.”

H: it's no big deal, I was just playing a video game with Yuuki-kun.

A: “Hahaha, I see your Kohai is getting closer with you.

H: “Well its not like we weren't close since childhood.

A: “Hahaha I see, We I guess you found someone that deeply cares for you, might be a good chance to for you to move towards the future, unless you're still hung up on that guy you know.

I left the message on read. Why does she Feel the need to remind me of that guy.
