Vol. 2 ch. 9

20 minutes later, Haruka-Senpai finished her lunch and both of us ended up just being on our phones.

Sharing moments like these alone with Haruka-Senpai is something I wouldn't mind doing all the time.

When You're able to have fun just doing nothing with someone you like, might that be an indication of love?

“Yuuki-kun are you alright?” Haruka-Senpai looked at me curiously.

“Yes I'am, what's wrong?”

“Well~ I was just curious if anything good has happened?”

“Anything good? Why ask that?” I gave a slight cough to maintain a calm demeanor.

“Yes, you've been grinning a lot for the past 20 minutes, It does imply a good thing happened right?” Haruka-Senpai gave me a warm smile as if she was happy for me.

“Well not exactly.” I seriously can't tell her it was because we were alone together like a couple.

“I see.” Haruka-senpai nodded before looking back down on her phone.

“Haruka-Senpai.”

“Yes?”

“May I ask you something?”

“Of course you can.”

“Well… is there a reason you stopped playing kyoryu online? I was just curious, is it because of the person that attacked me because we stopped his men from poaching?”

“Umm… You see…” Haruka-Senpai’s expression went pale… she even avoided making eye contact.

That's all I needed to see to know I definitely was because of our attack on The poachers.

“I understand… so please don't feel bad about it.”

When the game first launched, Haruka-Senpai and I stopped a group of poachers together, but that led to someone (Diego) personally hunting me down when I was alone and not in a group.

Hell, Back at the campsite Diego said He was there for Toda-Kun, however all of my bells started blaring! It was telling me it was all a lie to ambush me… why else did the Utahraptors attack me first!?

“I'm… I'm sorry for getting you targeted due to my own ideals’ consequences!” Haruka-senpai stood up and bowed profusely.

I can only imagine how guilty she must've been feeling over what happened that day.

“Haruka-Senpai, it's not your fault-”

“Yes it is, I dragged you along to fight a group of people that were way above your level!” Haruka-senpai raised her voice.

“That's not the point! I was the one that volunteered to join and help you save those dinosaurs! What was I supposed to do? Let you go on a suicide mission alone? So please don't feel guilty anymore okay?” I tried to maintain my cool but I ended up raising my voice back at her.

“But Yuuki-Kun…”

“Please trust me… I don't blame you for anything… if anything I should be the one apologizing to you… I snapped at you and Kana when we tried to stop the herrerasaurus infestation back at that farm.”

“Yuuki-Kun… the reason I was adamant in joining you in fighting those dinosaurs and not have Kana do it was because I wanted to take responsibility for that man's attack happening to you, I wanted to ensure it wouldn't happen again.” Haruka-Senpai seemed to have a slight tear in her eyes.

“Please don't feel bad anymore, I don't hold any grudges against you, the reason I snapped that day was a consequence of my own actions, I told you guys when I respawned that I was hunting coleophysis but I got over confident and lost my ground, but then that guy appeared, so it's not fault okay?”

“I see… but please promise me that you're gonna be careful next time okay?”

“I will, now please don't cry anymore.”

“I'm… not crying… dummy.” Haruka-Senpai pouted and turned away.

Haruka-Senpai really was the type to take responsibility over sins she has done, but I don't get why she's blaming herself completely over my own misjudgement of a situation.

°°°

The Atmosphere seems to have calmed down, Haruka-senpai and I didn't say another word to each other, I checked my phone. It was almost time for the meeting and yet Nobody has arrived yet? We're they all late?

Haruka-Senpai was reading a book about psychology. Meanwhile I was reading an E-book but I couldn't help but want to break the silence between the two of us.

“Haruka-Senpai, May I ask you something, it's about the upcoming cultural festival.”

“Oh, is it regarding the club's activity? You don't have to worry about-

“That's not it, I was wondering if anyone asked you out on joining them yet?”

Haruka-Senpai had a somewhat dumbfounded expression on her face, I guess she didn't expect that question from me or all people.

“I had been asked several times to go to the festival together, but you know, I just turned all of them down like usual.” Haruka-Senpai’s expression was seemingly tensed up, was she expecting me to ask her out too?

“Well then, would you like to go with me?” I think my voice cracked a bit.

“T-together?”

“Yes.*

There was an eerie atmosphere between us, was she thinking of a way to Turn me down as well?

Haruka-Senpai seemed troubled by my question, I should've expected her to turn me down.

“Yuuki-Kun…”

“Yes?”

“I'll gladly go with you for the cultural Festival.” Haruka-senpai seems to have a soft grin on her face.
