“Ehh? What's happening!?” Hikari asked as the The juveniles surrounding her had all immediately scrambled away.

“Please take these and stay by each other's side!” I quickly helped Hikari up and gave her and Haruka-Senpai a revolver as a sidearm.

“Yuuki-kun, please promise me you won't do anything reckless.” Haruka-senpai demanded.

“Don't worry, I'll be sure to stay at a reasonable distance.”

“Alright then, Hikari-chan let's go.” After accepting the revolvers, Haruka-Senpai quickly grabbed Hikari, then ran and hid behind a medium sized log and prepared her musket rifle while I took out my revolver headed to the side of the Triceratops.

I quickly ran towards the direction of the two dinosaurs that were about to fight.

The reason I gave them a pair Is I actually bought 4 extra revolvers earlier, so I could dual wield them while the other pair were for Haruka-senpai encase she couldn't use her musket due to lack of proper distance, but now that Hikari is in the equation she can use the other one.

Haruka's Pov

“...Um… Haruka-san, is he gonna be okay?” Asked Hikari.

“I wouldn't worry about Yuuki-kun too much, Yuuki-kun and I have each other's back.”

“Eh~ I see you're a lucky woman Haruka-san!”

“Hm? Lucky how?” What was she talking about.

“Your boyfriend is showing bravery and determination unlike most of the other boys I have seen in the game! I wish to marry someone like him.” Hikari acted like a fangirl.

“Eh… Wait wait! Yuuki-kun and I aren't together like that!” I quickly explained.”

“Your face is red though…”

“It's the weather! Let's focus on the danger please!!!”

As I ran towards the side of the triceratops I immediately prepared my own pair of revolvers!

Seeing the Albertosaurus face to face with the Triceratops was a sight to behold, the tyrannosaur was towering over the horned quadruped, but knowing the Triceratops it should be able to put up a fight, however our mission was to have as little casualties for the herd as possible.

Back at the train Senpai and I discussed strategies, I would keep it distracted while she whittle awaybat it because even though Our job was to get rid of the albertosaurus, our weapons would do jack squat meaning our only option is to keep it distracted and whittling away at it's health so the Triceratops goes for the killing blow or at least have it scramming for the hills.

Arriving at the triceratops’ side, it was clear the theropod and ceratopsian were still assessing and snapping at each other in order to intimidate the other into backing out so the one who wins can strike first.

Looking around it seemed like the vast majority of the younger Triceratops and especially the older ones had fled apart from this specific bull Triceratops leaving him all alone to defend his herd but that's where I came into the equation.

The Albertosaurus snapped and charged at the Triceratops, which it returned the favor by also charging at the theropod.

The distance between the two immediately closed as the Albertosaurus bit down on the Triceratops top left horn attempting to break it, it was a ballsy move as the moment the horn broke, the Triceratops could impale the theropod with its right horn.

I quickly fired a round at the Albertosaurus lower body, however it was clear the damage was non existent.

“Stupid beginner gear!” I quickly pulled out and threw 3 daggers from my coat and all 3 got jammed at the theropod's body.

Even though it looked like a direct shot I doubt the theropod was actually harmed by it, it was probably comparable to a dog bite at best.

The Albertosaurus bit down harder and pushed forward to the east causing the ceratopsian to not only face down and away from the theropod it also gave the Albertosaurus an opening to bite down on its frills.

I quickly received a message from Haruka-senpai.

“Yuuki-kun, the theropod's moving too much, I can't aim a proper shot! As I might accidentally shoot the Triceratops!”

She was right, despite the dinosaurs large size, hitting a moving target while trying to not shoot a different target will be too difficult, I need to impede it's movement and focus on me instead!

“Shootin’ time.” I started firing both my revolvers at the theropod's body.

The Albertosaurus, clearly getting irritated, pushed down the Triceratops and laid its focus on me.

“Hehehe, I'm in danger.”

As the theropod charged at me I immediately ran towards the direction of the forest, and due to it's relatively slender build, impeding it's mobility by potentially ensnaring it between tree branches would do wonders because Haruka-senpai would be able to whittle its health down long enough for the Triceratops to recover.

But knowing the size difference I'd be killed in a single bite, so despite this great plan I couldn't be reckless at all.

I couldn't slow down at all, the moment I even try to do that I'd be trapped in the dinosaur’s jaws and leave my friend vulnerable, however what I can do is This!

“Down here!” I did a U-Turn and slid between the Albertosaurus, threw another second set of three daggers and unloaded an entire mag at its lower body ans causing the theropod to agonize in pain, judging by the way it got staggered, this should give Haruka-senpai the opening she needs.

***BANG!!!*** The Albertosaurus got shot on its upper torso twice and its under its belly thrice.

You see, the reason Senpai was able to land those shots quickly is despite large theropods being relatively light-weights compared to their herbivorous counterparts they still struggle doing a quick turn.

“That should be good enough to get in melee range right?”

I dashed at the theropod and used a large rock to leap towards it and pulled out my katana in order to land a slit on its throat.

And as I was about to land the killing blow… ***CRACK*** the Albertosaurus used its tail and landed a blow on my lower body.

“Geez, How resilient are you?” I was barely able to land on my feet before collapsing to my knees.

I felt like I broke my knees, upon looking up the Albertosaurus had recovered and rushed towards me, I tried to do the same but the Dinosaur landed a headbutt, sending me flying, losing my katana in the process, and breaking several ribs.

I struggled to get up, I was facing death in the face again.
