Being face to face with death a second time was something I didn't expect to be happening to me so soon.

“Don’t let yourself burden Senpai any further…” I muttered as I kept struggling to get up until I forced myself to get back on my knees and looked up at the albertosaurus.

Seeing that Haruka-senpai had stopped shooting at the theropod, it definitely meant she ran out of bullets and needed to reload. If I could just stall out a bit longer she could injure it enough for the ceratopsian to get back on its feet.

Ugh… What's taking the triceratops so long to get back up!? It should've recovered by now… unless the bite that the albertosaurus inflicted had weakened it enough to be critically injured, I better keep fighting, but knowing that I lost my katana when I got knocked around, I can only run and keep shooting.

As the albertosaurus snarled as it slowly walked towards me, I prepared my revolver and fired a bullet which didn't seem to have injured it at all, however it just ended up more annoyed, as The albertosaurus started charging at me all I could do was face the full brunt head on…

***THUD!!!***

Someone pushed me out of the way and we both fell to the grass away from the albertosaurus’ attack. Upon looking up it was Hikari that saved me from it's strike.

“You… I told you to stay with Haruka-Senpai.”

“Yes you did, but feeling this helpless while letting you fight alone, I couldn't bare it, So we're doing this together!” Hikari stood and pulled me back up.

The albertosaurus turned to face us yet again and as it was preparing to charge… We heard a loud noise from the side. The Triceratops was back in action! But due to the distance between us, We better bring the party to it.

“Hikari-san hold on to me now.”

“R-right!”

Hikari clung onto me and as the albertosaurus prepared to charge towards us for another time I pressed the grappling gun’s trigger and fired it at a nearby tree zipping us far away as I quickly grabbed my katana while zipping past the triceratops that has just gotten back up.

“Okay here it comes!” I prepared to cushion Hikari from the impact to not let her get hurt.

As we were getting close to colliding with the rock, I deactivated and released the grappling gun and held Hikari tightly, embracing her and placing my hand on her head as We rolled on the grass and my back hitting the tree’s trunk.

“Yuu-san are you alright?” Hikari shook me up.

“Yeah I'm fine, everything just hurts, hahaha, but on the bright side…” I pointed at the Albertosaurus and the triceratops preparing to engage once again.

“Yuuki-Kun, you're being too reckless again!” Haruka-senpai rushed towards us, as I slowly got up.

“I apologize… I wanted to give the triceratops enough time to recover…” I picked up my grappling gun and held my hip trying to maintain balance.

“Yuu-san you need to sit this down, Haruka-san and I will assist the triceratops in taking down the albertosaurus.” Hikari tried to make me sit which I stubbornly forced myself up.

“I'm… I'm not gonna… be a burden senpai anymore.” I realigned my shoulder and drew my Katana and one of my Revolvers.

“Yuuki-Kun truly is stubborn like that, alright but this time let's stick by each other's side.” Haruka-senpai offered her hand, which I gladly accepted.

“Are you two done flirting?” Hikari chimed.

“We're not.” Haruka and I glanced away from each other.

Before Heading to back to the battlefield, the three of us discussed a plan to properly take down the albertosaurus and that was to drive it out into the forest!

Arriving at the fight, the triceratops and Albertosaurus were circling each other and as the two charged towards each other… the albertosaurus chomped down on the horn forcing both of them in another bitter struggle.

“Haruka-senpai and I will whittle it down, Hikari-san. I need you to wrangle it down for an opening!”

“Got it!” Hikari prepared a lasso ans headed out of the Theropod's sight.

Meanwhile Haruka-senpai and I started shooting at the theropodteam’s upper and lower body. The two of us stood by each other, covering each other's back making sure We do this as a team.

As we continued firing the albertosaurus managed to push the triceratops away and have its attention back to us.

“It worked!” I grabbed Senpai's hand and made a run for it towards the forest.

“Hikari-chan should be supporting the triceratops, so all Yuuki-kun and I need to do is keep it busy!”

“That's right, now we just need to stick by one another.”

The two of us were now being chased deep into the forest until… we reached a large river that was heading for a waterfall essentially cornering us. Despite the Looming threat approaching us, it was quite clear that this waterfall might actually work to our advantage.

We heard a loud roar behind us, the albertosaurus has caught up! It was preparing to charge however… a long lasso was thrown around its neck as the moment it charged causing it to stagger around fighting the pull.

“Hikari chan did it!” Haruka-senpai started firing at the underbelly of the albertosaurus.

Our plan was have Hikari strangle out the theropod by using a lasso on one hand and using her grappling gun to zip away forcing the albertosaurus to choke out while forcing it to bleed.

Reloading my revolvers I started firing at the legs and underbelly of the albertosaurus forcing it to choke and bleed further.

“Yuuki-kun, dont let up!”

“Gotcha!”

We kept unloading several mags of bullets, however the albertosaurus had somehow break through the lasso and was about to charge towards us, causing the ground to tremble.

“This guy won't let up!” I prepared to push Haruka-senpai out of the way.

The albertosaurus charged in our direction, the ground trembled forcing the two of us to hold on each other, When The triceratops rushed it down, impaling its top horns unto its chest and pushing it near the river, Haruka and I moved out of the way when the moment the triceratops knocked the albertosaurus off the edge, its tail managed to whip Haruka-senpai off the waterfall as well.

“Yuuki-kun!”

“Senpai!” I leapt off the cliff as well trying to save Senpai.

As both of us fell, our hands were inching closer when we managed to hold on to each other.

“I got you!”

I prepared my grappling gun with my other hand and fired it upward just to barely miss the edge but Hikari jumped off and grabbed the hook of the grappling gun and fired her own somewhere and stopping out fall.

“Haruka-senpai, are you alright?”

“All thanks to Yuuki-kun, thank you.”

Hikari and The triceratops helped us back up as we headed back to the farm to finish the mission,

I could tell that this experience brought us closer.

After telling the farmer about our accomplishment, The three of us prepared the train trip back to Gunhildr town with Hikari Joining us.
