Chapter 65: Medication

Extravagant is the best word that I could think of to describe Ms. Bluebell's private jet. It’s more like a living room than an airplane. The temperature inside was warm and comfortable. I could even smell a delicious scent coming from behind the curtains in the back. There’s even a recliner, a couple of sofas, and a huge plasma screen TV. Well, I don't really know what a plasma screen TV is but it looks expensive.

Strangely, Ms. Bluebell wasn’t with us. Ms. Nyatalee said that she already went back to her office yesterday. I know that she's a busy person but I still wanted to complain to her about the cat ears' sensitivity setting.

Disappointed, I jumped onto the only comfy looking recliner and took it for myself. Wow, it felt like my body sank into it. If only it had a massage function, this would be perfect.

"When are we going to take off?" Cocoa asked excitedly while looking out of the windows with her knees planted on the sofa. She wagged her tails happily.

"Soon, nya." Ms. Nyatalee happily replied to her. Then she handed me a sheet of paper. "Here is your weekly schedule Ms. Kuro." She said.

"Huh? Weekly schedule? Isn't this superstar thing only going to take place on Saturday?" It should be tomorrow, right?

"You are right, nya. However, there are some formal procedures such as your maid’s immigration and her medical check-up." She pointed to a table that represented today’s plan. Hmm, medical check-up, huh? Maybe I could ask a doctor for something that helps with my mood swings, my period, and other ... bad but natural things.

"Can you book a doctor for me too?" I asked. "A doctor who specializes in ... womanly problems." I tried to be as quiet and subtle as possible, but I still sensed that everyone except Cocoa was peeking at me. The fox girl still had her face glued to the window while anticipating the takeoff.

"Right away, nya~" She made a conspiratory nod and busied herself on her tablet. I don't know what she interpreted my request as. Let’s ignore it, sometimes ignorance is bliss.

"Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is Captain Abigail. We will be taking off shortly. The cabin has inertial, temperature, and pressure compensation spells installed. So please, relax, and enjoy your flight." After the female captain’s announcement the scenery outside began to move but I didn’t feel us moving, this must be because of the inertial compensation spell she mentioned.

"Wow~ we’re flying!" Cocoa made a commotion and began to point out the places she knew. "That's our command center!" She yelled. Heh, what a country bumpkin she is. I already flew three times. Wait, isn't her tail a person from my world? Did she never ride an airplane before like me? I wanted to ask her but I didn't know whether it’s alright or not to expose her secret to others such as Ms. Nyatalee.

It was a heartwarming scene to watch my sister and Cocoa play the game of guessing cloud shapes. Ms. Nyatalee also served us a big plate of cookies and drinks. My brother sipped his coffee on his sofa while reading a difficult looking technical book. Sophia, the girl who was reading strange books a moment ago, was competing against me in a competition of stuffing our cheeks full of assorted cookies. All of them were delicious and unique. I wonder where those cookies came from? A monster perhaps? Are they expensive?

My sister, who noticed that I like these cookies, asked Ms. Nyatalee for the recipe and origins, but it turned out that she also didn't know, "Ms. Bluebell gave them to me", she said. Awww, what a bummer. I guess I can text her… no, she’s a busy person so maybe when we meet again.

As I finished my task of emptying the plate, I made myself comfortable to watch some porn. Ah, there’s so much porn I haven’t watched yet. I blocked off Skynet and booted a visual novel eroge called Elven Onsen in my computation orb as I snuggled in the comfy recliner while moving my tail leisurely.

Compared to the school's vessel, this private jet is a lot faster. The visual novel was going to reach it climax soon, but the captain had already begun announcing our arrival together with the comment about below-freezing temperature outside, the wind speed and the time difference. I watched the unbelievably huge flying continent grow closer and closer as Skynet adjusted the device clock to the local time.

I looked at Cocoa and as expected, her face was glued to the window again. "How does it fly?" She asked. Her question caused my brother to go into a lengthy explanation which related to something called ether reaction and air... bounciness, I think. Long story short: It's magic.

The landing was as smooth as silk panties, I didn't feel any bumps even though there were a lot of screeching noises from the engine. The plane parked at the building near the place where airships were docked.

Captain Abigail came out to say goodbye to us. I waved back at her as I exited the cabin. Luckily this time ended without incident. I felt relief in my mind. All my worries and preparation which involved secretly stowing some weapons on the plane were for naught, huh?

"Is it alright that we came back without everyone else?" I asked my brother as we were following Ms. Nyatalee to the immigration office.

Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.

"You just realized this now?" He peered at me.

"Uhm, I had many things to worry about..." Was my excuse, and he just chuckled.

"It's alright, I already told the school. Our assignment ended when the people from the Beastkin Kingdom came to replace us. The trip back is just transportation provided by the school. It doesn't matter that we came back by ourselves." He explained.

Cocoa's immigration process finished quickly. She got an ID card like mine, and she seemed to be happy with it. Strangely there was no line telling people to contact authorities when they saw her alone though. Why did I have one like that? It must be bureaucratic things, I concluded.

Sophia's mom turned up at the airport exit, she thanked us for taking care of her child and took Sophia home. "She also helped us a lot," my brother replied as they left.

We rode a car that was arranged for us by Ms. Nyatalee to the city hospital. This was also my first time here so it can't be helped that I looked around restlessly. Compared to my previous world, this place was smaller. It's only a three story building, but it’s filled with some known equipment and some unknown equipment. I hope they don't have any scary needles.

Hmm, talking about needles... When I was a child and was being vaccinated, I remember that the doctor lied to me. He said that it would only hurt a bit, like an ant bite. It turned out that it hurt like hell... Weren't they all compulsive liars?

"Two-person, booked under the name of Ms. Kuro Velvori." Ms. Nyatalee told a nurse at the front counter. I looked at the people in the waiting seats. Most of them looked normal, but a minority of them had something like metallic limbs. Aren’t they what Aunos called cybernetic implants?

There were also a few nurses pushing a person-sized capsule that was filled with blue liquid in a hurry. There’s a girl lying inside that capsule. I hope she's alright.

"Alright, this way please, Ms. Cocoa, daughter of Sierra." A nurse came to guide her inside. I was going to follow Cocoa to see what a medical check-up was all about. However, another nurse called me to a different area.

I followed her into an area called 'Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics' ... I don't know what 'obstetrics' means, but I do hope it's the right department. After that, she asked me to stand on a platform and place my hand on an orb-like device. If I didn't know better, I would have thought that they were testing me for my magic aptitude. However, from what I peeked at the nurse's clipboard it was just my weight, height, and blood pressure there.

"Please wait here, Ms. Velvori." The nurse told me after escorting me to another waiting area in front of the doctor’s room. There were three other women waiting, two of them looked pregnant. They seemed to look at me with interest. Oh, now I'm in the human country. With me pretending to be a catgirl, it's natural for me to stick out like a sore thumb.

Under normal circumstances I wouldn't want to talk to any strangers. Now, my unwillingness intensified. So I pretended to fall asleep as soon as I sat down. Yup, not looking at anything is the best way to avoid eye contact. Let's continue my eroge here...

"Ms. Kuro Velvori, Ms. Kuro Velvori." A nurse called me. It was my cue it seems. I turned off the game and encouraged myself to walk into the doctor’s office. Geh, the doctor is a man.

"So, what can I help you with, Ms. Velvori?" The MALE doctor asked... The hell!? How can a man become a gynecologist? Damn, if it was up to me, I would fire him on the spot.

"Uhm, can I ask for a female doctor? You see, it's embarrassing." It was a better choice of word from my alternative: "How can you help me if you don't even have tits?"

"Dr. Emma will be in clinic on Saturday. Is it alright to appoint you there?" ... How short-handed can they be!

"I'm busy on Saturday." I told him.

"How about the hospital next town over? I think the female doctors are there on weekdays." I realized that it would be too bothersome to change doctor, so I decided to bite the bullet and try my luck on this guy.

"Hah, it's alright, please treat me." I said, defeated.

"So why are you here?" He asked again.

"Uhm, I don't want to have periods and mood swings. Also, I feel disturbed that sometimes I feel aroused when I’m near a guy." I told him my problem. He taps his pen on his clipboard a few times.

"Are you afraid of men?" He looks at me.

"N-no, I-I just don't like the fact that my body likes men... I like girls and I don't want to like men, if that makes any sense. You see, it's a personal reason." Surprisingly, he nodded.

"Is that the reason why you want to change doctors?" After a pause, he continued.

"No, that’s because it's embarrassing. And so you know, I won't let you examine me ok?" No examination of any kind, period.

"Noted." He consented easily. Maybe he's a good doctor after all.

"So when was your last menstrual cycle?" He continued.

"About two weeks ago." With help from Skynet, I realized that menstrual cycle means when the blood came out.

"How was the flow?" ... flow? River? No, it must be something related to the last question. But can you call that a flow?

"It's more like a waterfall than a river flow if you ask me." ... Oops, my thoughts slipped out.

"Your impression aside. Was it normal? Heavier or lighter than usual?" He still managed to maintain a professional attitude, but from my experience with my brother, his minuscule muscle movements told me that he tried his best not to laugh. Was my answer that funny!?

"I-It's normal." Honestly, I don't know whether it's normal or not. THAT was my first period. But since I'm healthy, that must be normal... I guess.

"Did you know that contraception of any kind was outlawed by the government for a while?" He probed.

"Is that related to my treatment?" I failed to understand his point.

"Nevermind, recently, did you have any injury that required the use of a healing spell?" He continued like his previous question was never asked.

"Let's see, there was a big explosion in the bandit's' cave, also I fell from an airship and hit my head a few times in the process." I intentionally left out the healing related to my little 'experiment'.

"Alright, here is your prescription. Meditation might help with your mood swing problems. And you might want to use a medical scanner to see if there are any lingering effects from your injuries. Here is your ticket." He handed me two sheets of paper. I thanked him and left the room.

The same nurse from before led me to the medical scanner. It's a circular podium with two big metallic rings moving up and down. Despite its sci-fi look, I still needed to change into a hospital gown to use it. It made me remember the first day I arrived in this world. However, at that time I wore the gown inside the department store... I wonder where I put it?.

The result of the scan was as expected, I'm healthy as a horse. I changed back to my normal clothes and followed the nurse to pharmacy room. There Cocoa and my siblings were waiting for me.

"Sorry for taking up your time." I apologized to everyone.

"It's fine, Cocoa finished just five minutes before you." Pristia answered while hugging me like it was the normal thing to do. "Hmm, cat girl Kuro is also nice." She mumbled while sniffing my hair.

"Let's go home?" Aunos asked.

"Wait, I need to take my medicine." I told him and ran to the pharmacy counter. There, I got one package labeled, 'Vitamin C'... I think I’d rather drink orange juice.
