"Hey, Felix, wake up! We're going to be late," exclaimed Jax urgently. Startled, Jax shot up from his bed. Nimbly, he slipped on his gi, making sure to accommodate his injured arm. The four friends hurried towards the heart of the island, the bustling center that connected everything. "Oh no, the bell is about to ring," fretted Kiyoshi. Trying to calm everyone down, Lionel assured them, "Relax, we still have plenty of time." Just in the nick of time, the quartet arrived at the entrance of the prestigious Academy. However, as they dashed through the campus, Felix found himself lagging behind. In his haste, he clumsily bumped into a stranger, and both fell to the ground. "Watch where you're going! My crew and I will give you a taste of who you're messing with," threatened the person angrily. Apologetically, Felix replied, "I'm sorry; it won't happen again." As Felix caught a glimpse of the person's gi from behind, he noticed a wolf symbol. Jax returned to help Felix up off the ground. "Come on, we only have a minute left to reach Sensei's dojo," urged Jax. With renewed determination, Felix quickly got back on his feet and sprinted alongside Jax. They all managed to arrive at Sensei Narikiyo's Dojo just seconds before class would begin. Sensei Narikiyo entered the room with a serene amble. "Please take your positions on the floor," he instructed calmly. Introducing himself as Sensei Fuji Narikiyo, he emphasized that they would be learning the art of basic combat maneuvers. Lionel couldn't help but interject with a hint of sarcasm, "Basic moves? Never heard of those before." Kiyoshi playfully teased Lionel for his lack of knowledge, causing a brief exchange of words. Sensei Narikiyo proceeded to enlighten them on the importance of mastering basic moves over flashy special techniques. With his striking red eyes and smooth bald head like that of a monk, Sensei Narikiyo exuded an aura of tranquility. Tall and lean, with a tanned complexion and prominent ears, he wore a dazzling white gi that outshone the standard attire, adorned with a Gorilla logo on the back. "For this demonstration, I require a volunteer," Sensei Narikiyo announced. Scanning the room, he pointed to Lionel. "Please, young sir, step forward," he beckoned. Lionel made his way towards Sensei Narikiyo as the other students observed intently. Bowing to each other in preparation for the training bout, Sensei Narikiyo explained that his attacks would harness the power of light. Demonstrating with a punch, his fist transformed into a radiant beam, lightly striking Lionel and propelling him through a wall. Gasps filled the room as the fighters watched in astonishment. Lionel's torn gi bore witness to the immense damage he had sustained. Slowly rising to his feet, Lionel returned to his position and bowed once again. "Now, show me your basic attack," Sensei Narikiyo requested. With determination in his eyes, Lionel shouted, "Neon punch!" His hand glowed a vibrant hot pink as he unleashed a powerful strike towards Sensei Narikiyo. However, despite the force behind it, nothing happened upon impact. Sensei Narikiyo clarified that basic moves boasted perfect accuracy but lacked the sheer power of special techniques which came with a reduced chance of hitting their mark. Instructing the class to pair up and devise their own basic moves through sparring, Sensei Narikiyo urged them to begin. Jax immediately joined Felix for their practice session, while the rest of the students found their partners swiftly. Lionel and Kiyoshi were left as the sole remaining duo. "You've got to be kidding me," grumbled Lionel, eyeing Kiyoshi with exasperation. Meeting Lionel's gaze, Kiyoshi simply shook his head. "Alright, let's begin," Sensei Narikiyo instructed. Bowing to each other, Lionel taunted, "Just try to hit me if you can." Annoyed, Kiyoshi focused his energy, causing his fist to radiate a deep purple aura. He swung at Lionel, who effortlessly evaded the attack before countering with a neon uppercut to Kiyoshi's face. Propelled into the air, Kiyoshi descended back down to the ground. Lionel shook his head in frustration. "Why do I even bother with you?" he muttered. Slowly rising once more, Kiyoshi redirected his focus to his foot, eliciting the same dark aura as before. "Shadow kick!" he shouted defiantly. This time, his kick seemed poised to strike Lionel, but it vanished just as it was about to connect. "Sorry, Kiyoshi. Neon punch," Lionel mocked before retracting his arm for a punch. Suddenly, Kiyoshi's kick reappeared and deflected Lionel's punch effortlessly, allowing Kiyoshi to follow up with a normal punch directly to Lionel's stomach. The force of the blow sent Lionel hurtling two meters away, crashing face-first into the ground. Celebrating his victory, Kiyoshi exclaimed triumphantly, "Yeah, I did it!" Wincing in pain from the impact to his stomach, Lionel grumbled sarcastically, "Wow! Kiyoshi finally accomplished something." Sensei Narikiyo interrupted their banter as he dismissed the class for the day and bowed respectfully to his students. Opening the door leading to the main court, Felix, Kiyoshi, and Lionel walked out together. The main court served as the central hub of the campus, featuring a sword embedded in a stone at its center. Curiously, Kiyoshi pointed towards the sword and asked, "What's that?" Felix, with a note of concern, explained, "That's the Sword of Infinity. It powers the entire school." He warned his friends, "If anyone were to remove it, the entire school would be in jeopardy." At that moment, a girl with brown hair adorned with scarlet flowers passed by, her red karate gi catching their attention. Felix, Jax, and Kiyoshi's eyes transformed into heart shapes as they began to drool. Irritated by their antics, Lionel chided them, "You guys are hopeless." Jax defended their fascination by remarking, "Looks like someone hasn't experienced love before." Dismissing the notion entirely, Lionel retorted, "Love is a waste of time." Zebeon chimed in sarcastically, "Ohh boy, Master Lionel. She's quite stunning." Annoyed by the interruption, Lionel snapped back at Zebeon, saying, "I didn't summon you. Go away!" Anxiously anticipating their impending detention for participating in an unauthorized tournament, Lionel instructed his friends to have fun while he headed towards his punishment alongside Felix and Kiyoshi. Curious about their predicament, Jax asked innocently, "Wait, how did you guys end up with detention?" Lionel reminded him matter-of-factly, "For that unauthorized tournament we all took part in." Understanding now, Jax recalled his encounter with his brother during the tournament. Meanwhile, Felix, Kiyoshi, and Lionel found themselves bored in detention. Kiyoshi voiced his discontentment by remarking gloomily, "This stinks," to which Lionel replied, "Better get used to it. We'll be here for the rest of the year, and maybe even longer." Shushing them, the supervising sensei requested their silence. In an attempt to combat their boredom, Felix took out an ink pen and began sketching a person. Curiosity getting the better of him, Kiyoshi leaned over to sneak a peek at Felix's drawing. To his surprise, Felix had sketched a girl with flowers in her hair. Excitedly, Kiyoshi inquired, "Hey, wait a minute. Are you drawing the girl we saw earlier today?" Confirming Kiyoshi's suspicion, Felix replied with a smile, "Yep." Sensing something more than just admiration in his friend's drawing, Kiyoshi probed further, "Do you like this girl?" Blushing slightly, Felix admitted, "Yeah, I think I might." Overhearing their conversation, Lionel jumped in with a dismissive tone, "Pssh, love is so overrated. She probably already has a boyfriend she sees every night." Doubting Lionel's claim, Felix responded confidently, "I don't believe you." Defensive now, Lionel justified himself by saying he was only trying to help. Interrupting their discussion sharply, the sensei warned them once again about maintaining silence during detention. As two hours dragged on slowly, Kiyoshi concluded discontentedly, "Two hours wasted." Finally released from their punishment, the trio left the building together. Curious about Jax's whereabouts during their time in detention, Felix pondered aloud, "I wonder what Jax is up to." Meanwhile, Jax immersed himself in rigorous training in the nearby woods. Determined to be prepared for his next encounter with his brother and emerge victorious, Jax tirelessly practiced his strikes against a sturdy tree trunk. Concerned for his well-being after witnessing his relentless dedication, Tethyus suggested gently, "Maybe you should take a break. You've been at it for hours now." Lost in thought about his brother, Jax responded curtly, "Sorry, I'm just thinking about what happened between my brother and me." Returning to his training with renewed vigor, Jax resumed pummeling the tree until it finally succumbed and snapped in two.

As Lionel, Felix, and Kiyoshi made their way back to their Dojo nestled in the enchanting woods of San Francisco, Felix's eyes were captivated by the girl adorned with scarlet flowers in her flowing hair. "I will catch up with you guys later," said Felix, unable to resist the alluring sight. "Alright," responded Kiyoshi and Lionel. "And then there were two," mumbled Kiyoshi. Ignoring his friend's comment, Lionel closed his eyes, choosing to remain aloof. Curiosity getting the better of him, Felix approached the girl and greeted her with a warm smile. "Hello?" she responded, intrigued by his presence. "I noticed you were all alone over here," Felix began, introducing himself as a potential wolf spirit fighter named Felix Warner.
Suddenly, a voice echoed from out of nowhere, calling out Felix's name. Startled, Felix looked around in confusion. Before he could react, a swift kick aimed at him was swiftly dodged. "Hey man, what's your problem?" Felix confronted his assailant. The stranger then wrapped his arms possessively around the girl. "Hey baby, is this guy bothering you?" he arrogantly questioned. The girl hesitated for a moment before calmly asserting that everything was fine.
Introducing herself as Scarlet Ieuchi, a DBL Star Unicorn fighter, the girl shared an introduction to her boyfriend Igor Heroux - a wood wolf fighter and leader of the Alpha wolf group. With lavender eyes and vermillion hair perfectly styled with simplicity, Igor exuded confidence and dominance. His words laced with mockery, he chuckled at Felix's claim of being a wolf fighter. Incensed by Igor's dismissive attitude, Felix's expression hardened.
Attempting to diffuse the tension, Scarlet apologized for Igor's behavior and assured Felix that she knew he was merely being a goofball. Her laughter eased the tension in the air. "You're funny," she remarked, bidding farewell to Felix as she waved him goodbye. "Bye!" Felix called out with a smile. As he turned to leave, he heard a distant wolf howl that seemed to beckon him. Intrigued, he ventured further into the woods, a grin playing on his lips.
However, his momentary joy was interrupted as he felt a weight falling upon him. Alert, Felix glanced around but found no one behind him. Suddenly, four fighters emerged before him, all adorned with the alpha wolf patch like Igor. "Well, well, look at that," Igor sneered. "We've only just met," he added sarcastically. Steadying himself, Felix assumed a defensive stance.
"Looks like you enjoy fighting," Igor observed. Felix retorted, demanding to know what they wanted. Igor made it clear that he intended to keep Felix away from Scarlet for good, mocking him as a first-year newbie lacking skill. A surge of determination coursed through Felix's veins. Before another word could be spoken, Igor howled once more and two boys restrained Felix.
"This is just a message to stay away from us," Igor jeered, his nails transforming into wooden spikes before slashing Felix's chest. Pain seared through Felix as he cried out in agony, yet defiance fueled his spirit. Rising to his feet once more, he charged towards Igor with a punch. However, Igor effortlessly evaded the blow and retaliated with a gut-punch that rendered Felix unconscious. With ease, Igor hoisted Felix onto his shoulders and carried him away.
