As the ship began docking, it honked its horn to signal its arrival. Many students or fighters were gathered on the dock, watching as the ship pulled in. Shortly after, another ship arrived and docked right next to the first one. The intercom announced, "Attention! Attention! We have reached our destination, the Zogohr Academy. Please disembark carefully." Fighters quickly filed out of the ship at the sound of the intercom. People spilled out from all over the ship, eager to set foot on land once again. Kiyoshi woke up abruptly from all the commotion, falling out of his bed in shock. Meanwhile, Felix yawned and stretched his arms, basking in the bright sunlight beaming through his window. After the crowd had dissipated off the docks, Kiyoshi and Felix finally made their way off the ship. They headed towards the sign-in center together. "Wow, that was quite a ride," commented Kiyoshi. "You can say that again," replied Felix with a chuckle. "Hey, what happened after I fainted during that arena battle?" asked Kiyoshi curiously. "The girl, Aiko, won by doing some cheap move," grumbled Felix. "Let me guess, she dropkicked you while you were knocked out midair?" teased Kiyoshi. "Wait a minute...how do you know about that?" questioned Felix with a puzzled expression on his face. "Oh, just a lucky guess," replied Kiyoshi with a sly grin. "And why is this check-in line so long?" he added. "Ugh, looks like we'll be standing here forever," groaned Felix. After finally checking in, they stepped back outside into the warm sun. "So, what room did you get?" asked Felix as they walked towards their assigned buildings. "I got X00," answered Kiyoshi. "Ugh, I got stuck with K249, which is probably on the other side of the island," grumbled Felix. "Well, the next time we see each other, I won't go down as easily in that four-way battle," declared Kiyoshi confidently. "Good luck!" wished Felix. They gave each other a fist bump before heading off in different directions.
Felix's hand trembled slightly as he unlocked the door and pushed it open. As soon as he stepped into the small room, his eyes fell upon a figure sitting at a desk with a pen and paper, scribbling down something related to fighting. "Hello," Felix spoke up, trying to introduce himself. "My name is Felix Warner." The person at the desk didn't even bother looking up, their attention solely focused on their work. "Nice to meet you. Could you please shut the door? I am busy," they said in a curt and irritated tone. The room was tiny, more like a cramped dorm room than anything else. Two floor mats were placed on each side of the room, serving as makeshift beds. In one corner stood a short desk cluttered with papers and books, and a large window covered one entire wall. However, what caught Felix's attention was not the room itself, but rather the sliding dojo door that served as an entrance. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name," Felix persisted with a smile despite the cold reception. "My name is Lionel Feret," came the reply, still laced with aggression for no apparent reason. Glancing at Lionel's face, Felix noticed his round features - puffy cheekbones and chin, oval-shaped pink sapphire eyes framed by slightly bushy eyebrows in an imperfect arch. A wide triangular nose sat above a bandage across his face, and his short curly rose-pink hair shone in the light as it cascaded down to his neck. Despite his average weight, there was something intimidating about Lionel's presence. "Wow, you really need to chillax, man," Felix remarked casually, trying to lighten the mood. But Lionel remained silent and turned back to his work without even acknowledging Felix's comment. However, through his glasses that glinted in the light, he couldn't help but feel the power emanating from Felix. "Hmm, can't it be a Wolf build?" Lionel's voice broke through the silence as his gaze flickered to Felix. "A wolf build is one of the most powerful spirit guardians, if you know how to control it," he added with a hint of admiration in his voice. Hoping to strike up a conversation, Felix asked, "So, what do you do for fun?" But Lionel's response was far from what he expected. "Nothing but studying," came the reply before Lionel closed his eyes and pushed his glasses back up his nose, turning back to face the front of the desk. Felix couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment at the lack of enthusiasm in their interaction so far. Switching over to Kiyoshi.

Kiyoshi arrived at his room, sliding the door open to reveal a pristine and organized space. He tossed his empty bag carelessly onto the floor and plopped down next to it, feeling exhausted and unmotivated. His gaze wandered out the window, where he could see the deep blue evening sky stretching into the horizon. Suddenly, the door began to slide open once again, revealing a tall figure standing in the doorway.
The boy had a striking appearance with a perfectly circular face and sharp angles of cheekbones and chin. His eyes were a rich shade of blue with large, round pupils that seemed to sparkle in the dim light. His thin eyebrows arched gracefully over his eyes, framing them perfectly. A long, pointed nose jutted out over his lips like a mountain peak, adding to his handsome features. Tousled blonde hair covered one side of his face in spiky strands, giving him a rebellious look. His broad shoulders hinted at strength and athleticism, as if he had just stepped out of a gym.
The boy introduced himself as Jax Mitsuko from the Mitsuko clan dojo in the nearby village. Kiyoshi couldn't help but ask about this curious clan he had never heard of before. But when Jax revealed that they were an elite family of Hippogriffs, Kiyoshi realized he was talking to someone special.
As their conversation continued, hunger began to gnaw at their stomachs. Jax suggested going to a nearby café for food and drinks. Confused, Kiyoshi pointed out that the only café he knew of was at the entrance of the island where they were staying. But Jax quickly corrected him, explaining that there were cafés all over the island due to its vast size.
Feeling embarrassed for not realizing this sooner, Kiyoshi apologized and prepared to follow Jax to the nearest café. However, their plans were derailed when Jax suddenly spoke in a fake Australian accent, causing Kiyoshi to call him out on it. A friendly banter turned into a challenge as Jax dared Kiyoshi to a fight.
As they walked outside, the sliding door revealed a night sky twinkling with stars above them. Both boys tightened their headbands, preparing for an impromptu match under the moonlight.
With a deafening clash, Kiyoshi and Jax locked in a frenzied battle. Each move was calculated and executed with precision, their stances mirroring the intensity of their competition. Kiyoshi charged at Jax with reckless abandon, but Jax remained calm, his eyes closed until the very last second. With lightning reflexes, he dodged Kiyoshi's punches and returned them with equal force.
Falling to the ground, Kiyoshi attempted to regain his footing by launching a hurricane kick, but Jax expertly caught his leg and delivered a devastating blow to his knee. As Kiyoshi flipped through the air, his frustration grew into an uncontrollable rage, the white aura surrounding him pulsating with power.
Sensing danger, a mysterious woman's voice echoed in Jax's head, urging him to end the fight before it spiraled out of control. Acting on instinct, Jax quickly evaded Kiyoshi's attacks and used his skills to overpower him.
But just as he thought the battle was won, Kiyoshi's aura dissipated and he fell to the ground. In a flash of movement, Jax scooped up his defeated opponent and carried him back to their room.
As he laid Kiyoshi down on his bed, Jax couldn't shake the feeling of unease that consumed him. How did Kiyoshi possess such immense power without any experience? Determined to find answers, Jax left in search of some much-needed sustenance.
At the nearby cafe, Jax sat alone at a small wooden table, devouring his food while pondering over Kiyoshi's display of strength. The sound of clicking chopsticks filled the air as he mulled over the possibilities.
"How is this even possible?" He muttered to himself before taking another bite of chicken dumplings.
