As the sun set and the moon rose, Felix and Lionel headed to the Café for a much-needed meal. On their way, Felix asked an innocent question about Lionel's choice to become a fighter. But instead of a simple answer, Lionel became defensive and shut down the conversation. This sparked tension between the two friends as they arrived at the café on the island's east side. Despite being a quiet night, Felix couldn't help but feel on edge in this jungle-themed café with its dark green walls and animal-themed furniture. As Lionel ordered his favorite dish, Yakisoba, Felix stuck with his typical American cheeseburger. But their conversation was interrupted by loud voices from a nearby table. Three older boys approached them, making snide remarks and declaring that this was "their year." Felix could feel Lionel tensing up next to him as they exchanged glances. "Can we help you?" Lionel asked, trying to mask his unease.
The boy who approached them was a fiery figure, adorned in a vibrant red Gi with a crimson belt, proudly displaying two glimmering stars. His light green hair was swept to the side of his head in a stylish yet intimidating manner. A strange smirk stretched across his face as he addressed Felix and Lionel, who were peacefully eating at their table. "Excuse me; I believe we were here first," Felix spoke up confidently. The boy's smirk only grew wider as he responded, "Listen here, pipsqueak. No one was talking to you, so why don't you just sit in the backseat where you belong?" Tension began to fill the air as Felix clenched his fist and growled lowly like a wolf. But before any more words could be exchanged, the boy made a bold move towards Lionel, reaching out to grab his hand. In a swift motion, Lionel lifted him up into the air and hurled his chopsticks at the boy's arms, effectively pinning him to the ceiling. The chef caught sight of this altercation and quickly intervened. "No fighting in my restaurant!" he scolded sternly. "If you want to settle your differences, take it outside." The atmosphere simmered down as the boys reluctantly left the restaurant, leaving behind an uneasy feeling in the air
The boys stood behind him, ready to face their opponent. Felix and Lionel flanked the injured boy, his arms trembling in pain from their previous altercation. "That was uncalled for," he grits through clenched teeth. "I'm ready to fight," he declares, determination burning in his eyes. "Fine, I'm ready too," Lionel responds with a cold stare. The two boys bow and assume their fighting stances, while the others watch closely from the sidelines. Suddenly, Felix's wristwatch starts beeping furiously and both boys look down at the screen in unison. The message reads: "Match engage - Ryder Carson vs. Lionel Feret." Without hesitation, Ryder charges towards Lionel with all his might. But just as he is about to land a punch, Lionel swiftly performs a leg sweep, causing Ryder to crash hard on the ground. As he gets up, holding his nose in pain, Ryder yells out "Lucky shot!" but Lionel simply responds with a smirk and a taunt: "Your movements are predictable." Undeterred, Ryder charges once again but this time, he disappears into thin air right before his punch lands. In a flash of movement, he reappears above Lionel's head and descends with a powerful punch. But Lionel is too quick for him, using one hand to grab onto Ryder's fist and effortlessly stopping his attack. Felix watches in awe as his friend displays an incredible show of strength by slamming Ryder to the ground. But Ryder is not giving up so easily. He quickly rolls away from Lionel and takes a moment to catch his breath, while a red glow starts to emanate from his body. A strong breeze picks up, violently shaking the surrounding trees as if they were mere toys. Even Lionel struggles to block the powerful gusts that threaten to knock him off balance. "That power isn't a joke," he mutters under his breath. But Ryder's two other friends on the sidelines cheer him on, their excitement growing as they see the red aura surrounding him. Felix shakes his head in disbelief as he continues to dodge the intense wind speeds. Suddenly, the wind stops and a huge red bear charges towards Lionel with a punch, sending him flying towards a nearby white marble rock. With a triumphant roar, Ryder stands tall while Lionel struggles to get up. Gathering all his energy, Ryder forms an "O" shape with his hands and shouts out "SPECIAL MOVE - Cosmic Crimson Flare!" A massive fireball, outlined in black, begins to form between his hands. Felix can't believe what he's seeing - this is not good. Lionel braces himself for impact as he remembers his troubled past.
Three years ago. “Wake up, Lionel!” Lionel’s father snapped. Lionel woke up, brushing his pink-colored eyes and putting on his glasses. “I am up,” said Lionel. Lionel’s father was waiting for him outside of his room. Lionel’s house is a large dojo in the middle of nowhere. His house is about two stories high with shoji walls. His father handed him three heavy books about fighting. “Now, get to work,” said Lionel’s father. Lionel started to carry the heavy books to the table in the kitchen. His initial literary venture was titled "Basics of Fighting," a thorough exploration of the fundamental principles behind combat. With this success under his belt, he plunged into deeper waters with "Different Types of Spirit Guardians," a comprehensive tome delving into the diverse classifications of spiritual beings and their varying abilities and attack combinations. Finally, he produced "The Awakened," an all-encompassing guide to the many potential awakenings that can occur within individuals. Through meticulous research and dedication, he uncovered an intricate web of distinct spirit guardians, each possessing their own unique powers and forms of attack. So, he wonders what Spirit guardian can occur in him. So, he ran down to his father’s training room down the hall. “Father! Father! Can you teach me this?” Begged Lionel. Lionel pointed at the picture. “No, you are not ready for that type of stuff,” said his father is coming out of meditation. “What do you mean, I am not ready?” Asked Lionel. “You do not have the proper training yet, and I do not believe you are ready to train until you do your studies,” said his father. Lionel got angry. “I do have the proper training; I read all the books… Twice!” Snapped Lionel. Lionel’s father closed his eyes and went back to mediation while Lionel went back to rambling about his readiness to fight. “Alright, ok, I get it. What is a fighting stance?” Asked His father. “
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
With a furious expression, Lionel crouched into a fighting stance, his muscles coiled like springs ready to attack. His father's voice echoed in his head as he approached, asking him to demonstrate his stance. Lionel thrust his hand forward and positioned the other by his hips with legs spread wide and one foot ahead. His father nodded in approval before daring him to strike.
Without hesitation, Lionel threw a punch towards his father but was swiftly met with a block from his father's lightning-fast reflexes. He switched hands and tried again, but this time, his father kicked away the fist mid-air. In a split second, his father swept his leg under Lionel's, causing him to crash to the ground in pain.
Lionel clenched his teeth and tried to deny the pain, but his father's words cut deep. With a newfound determination, he mustered all his strength and attempted another punch at his father. However, before he could even fully extend his arm, his father caught his wrist and spun him around before landing a jab to his stomach. The impact sent Lionel crashing through the wall into the next room, blacking out upon impact.
The next day, he woke up in the same spot only to find tools left beside him for repairing the hole he created. A note from his father reminded him of his weakness and laziness as he angrily crumpled it up and threw it through the hole.
Channeling all of that anger into motivation, Lionel began training relentlessly. Sweat poured down from his forehead as he repeatedly punched a thick plank of wood until it finally broke in half after fifty punches.
But as time went on with no trace of his father returning from the market, Lionel became increasingly obsessed with training. He studied scrolls left behind by his father who was an expert in karate moves. Alongside martial arts, Lionel also learned how to wield a staff, run on walls, break cinder blocks with his bare hands, and had lightning-fast reflexes.
One night, while meditating like his father, Lionel heard a commotion outside. Sand bandits had arrived at his house, which had been abandoned for years. The leader confidently announced it would be an easy raid as the others ran towards the dojo.
Feeling a powerful energy approaching, Lionel couldn't help but wonder if it was his father finally returning. But as he got up to check, he saw a figure in a brown cloak running away from him.
"Stop!" He screamed after the figure and gave chase. However, when they turned around, Lionel realized it was one of the sand bandits.
Before he could react, the bandit lunged at him with a punch, but Lionel expertly swung his bamboo stick to block it. The bandit then tried to kick him, but Lionel swiftly ducked and countered with a swing of his own.
With a loud crash, the bandit went flying through the wall and out of the dojo. But before Lionel could catch his breath, another bandit jumped on his back while another charged at him with a punch.
Lionel's body bent forward in a fluid motion as he swiftly threw the bandit atop his accomplice. The two men sprung back up, fists clenched and charging towards Lionel. In a graceful backflip, he evaded their attacks and landed effortlessly on his feet. The bandits paused, narrowly avoiding punching each other in their confusion. As they looked up, they saw Lionel descending from above, delivering powerful palm strikes to both of them simultaneously.
Suddenly, the leader of the bandits panicked and lit a match, setting fire to the wooden dojo before fleeing. A fourth bandit burst through the paper wall and slammed into Lionel, pushing him against the wall with great force. But Lionel quickly recovered and shook off the hit. The massive bandit then leaped into the air, using his sheer weight to pounce on Lionel. But Lionel was ready and delivered a double chop to the bandit's neck as he came down, sending him crashing to the ground.
The flames were spreading rapidly throughout the dojo, so Lionel hurried to his room and grabbed a bag, stuffing in all the books his father had given him before rushing out. As he stepped outside, he watched as the dojo burned to ashes. To pay respects to his former home and training grounds, Lionel bowed down before leaving.
Now in present-day, Lionel struggled to block a fireball thrown by his opponent. His defensive guard shattered under the impact and he was thrown backward into a cloud of grey smoke. But miraculously, he rose up again slowly despite his battle damage and wobbly knees. Ryder closed in on him after launching the attack.
But then something unexpected happened - a neon pink glow began to emanate from Lionel's body. Shocked, Ryder exclaimed "How can this be? He's just a novice fighter!" As if guided by an invisible force, Lionel ascended into the air like an angel and declared "Special Move - Neon Flash!" Ryder's eyes widened as he was momentarily blinded by the bright light. In one last burst of energy, Lionel zigzagged through Ryder's chest, causing him to collapse in defeat.
As the voice in their watches announced the match was complete, Felix opened his eyes and exclaimed "What a show, incredible performance!" Suddenly, he noticed two boys who had been accompanying Ryder heading towards Lionel with malicious intent. Without hesitation, Felix transformed into a white glow and let out a fierce howl. He then charged towards the boys and shoved them off Lionel, defending his friend.
The two boys retaliated by throwing punches at Felix simultaneously, but he caught both of their fists and made them collide with each other before they fell to the ground unconscious. Felix picked up Lionel and carried him back to their room for rest and recovery.
