Lifting his head from the book, Kai let out a soft sigh as he closed it and got off his bed.
To be honest, the book was extremely interesting, even more so than he thought it would be when he first picked it up.
And he wasn't even a quarter of the way through it yet, meaning there was still loads of information left to digest.
Making his way over to the door, Kai mentally got ready for what was to come. He grabbed his door handle and pulled the door open, revealing-
... No one standing on the other side?
"Mister Two."
Nevermind, it wasn't no one, Kai just had to look down to see them.
Glancing downwards, he saw Petunia dressed in a rather pretty blue dress, close to the shade of blue that Ezekial's hair was.
And speaking of hair, Kai felt a little sorry for the blue haired swordsman after noticing that the amount of curls in her hair had basically doubled.
"Oh, hey Petunia, what's up?"
Petunia looked at Kai as she placed her hands on her hips, a little surprised that he somehow knew her name.
"Blonde man wants everyone for dinner."
Kai remained silent for a second before shrugging and equipping his boots, which had been left in his soul as he would much rather not have them on his bed.
Petunia's eyes widened at the act, in fact, Kai almost thought that he saw a little bit of awe.
"Mister Two, how did you do that?"
Kai raised an eyebrow slightly, did Petunia really not know what an item was?
"It's an item." Kai began to explain. "I got a couple of them in my tutorial, each of them are pretty useful.
Surely you know this, you bought some in the tutorial shop."
Petunia tilted her head innocently.
"Tutorial... shop?"
That was when Kai realised, if her mother had been protecting her the whole time and Petunia never actually got to do anything in the month where she was out of the white room...
Was it possible that she didn't obtain a single tutorial point?
"Ah, nevermind, it's not like it really matters."
However, it seemed that Petunia didn't want to drop the subject just yet.
"Was it magic? It appeared out of nowhere. Can you give me an item?"
Kai chuckled softly as he closed his door behind him and started walking beside Petunia to the main hall.
"Maybe in the future I'll give you one, if it gets really cold or something."
Petunia pouted slightly, but it seemed that she knew better than to complain and throw a tantrum.
John and her mother had raised her well.
Kai felt a pang of sadness when thinking about what John could be going through right now.
However, Kai couldn't even begin to fathom what had actually happened just before The Host had tried to kill him, all he knew was that another God had intervened.
Still, what God had set their eyes on John?
There was also the fact that Kai still technically owed John after he saved him from drowning to death after losing that fight to the fish, so the least he could do was watch over Petunia in the big guy's stead.

"You know." Kai said as he slowed down to match Petunia's pace. "I know your father."
"Really?" Petunia said as she looked up curiously at Kai. "Were you in the army too?"
Now it was Kai's turn to be confused.
"Army? No, I wasn't in the army."
Petunia continued walking along, making Kai have to hide a smirk as the way she was walking reminded him of a penguin.
"Mister Whitebeard was in the army, he said he knew my daddy as well."
Realising that Petunia was on about that Myers guy, Kai let out a small huh before speaking again.
"No, I met your dad in my tutorial. He even saved my life at one point."
Those words seemed to ignite something in Petunia as a bright smile grew on her face as her eyes beamed.
"Daddy's super strong. He's always helping people. There was one time our neighbour fell down the stairs, but she was really old and really hurt. But Daddy picked her up and started carrying her, but our car was getting repaired so he had to run all the way to the hospital with her in his arms!"
Kai's eyes widened slightly at the story. It's not like he had to contemplate whether it was true or not, it did sound like something John would do...
"He really is strong, he would probably be able to pick me up with one hand."
Petunia giggled proudly as she performed a small spin in the middle of the hallway.
"He picks me up with one hand as well. He always puts me on his shoulder. He's super tall and I can see so far."
However, just as Kai was about to smile, Petunia's next words left him stunned.
"Mister Two, you're kind of short."
Kai sighed and shook his head softly. It wasn't that he was short, it was just that everyone else was tall.
"Yeah, well, you're shorter than me."
Petunia stopped twirling and stared up at him blankly.
"I'm a child."
Kai chose to accept defeat after that, not wanting to get in an argument with a child.
He would obviously win the argument of course, he just didn't want to get in one, that's all it was.
It wasn't long after that when Kai and Petunia arrived at the main hall, Kai opening the door to the sight of all the maids and butlers working in perfect symphony and not affecting one another in the slightest.
"Good job child, you managed to bring him here."
Kai looked to the top of the abnormally large table and saw Castillian at the head, dozens of platters of different food in front of him. Be it meat, vegetable or even a dessert, it was probably in front of him.
It didn't take a genius to notice that Petunia wasn't sure what to think of Castillian, he was just some random man that was saying that he was her dad now, trying to replace the dad she really cared for.
However, when she saw Ezekial smile from behind Castillian, Petunia relented and made her way over to her seat at the top of the table.
"Well, since you've taken your pick, I'm assuming poor old Kai can sit beside me?"
Castillian didn't look towards his wife before giving his approval, not caring for Kai in the slightest.
However, Kai couldn't help but inwardly groan. It seemed that this dinner won't be a peaceful one.
Taking a seat beside Anastasia, Kai saw her smirking in corner of his eye.
Sighing, he reached out and took a plateful of food, waiting until everyone else had begun eating before he took his first bite, just in case he ended up being accidently impolite.
The food was still nice, even though it looked a little weird. Kai wasn't sure where it would rank on a tierlist with Earth foods, probably in between minestrone soup and a BLT, somewhere around there.
The hall was only silent for a moment before the sound of Castillian speaking broke it, he seemed to be a big fan of doing that.
"Here you go, say ahh."
Unable to resist, Petunia was spoon-fed some soup, too nervous to tell Castillian that she hadn't been spoon-fed since she was four.
Kai glanced over, wondering what the hell went on in that man's mind.
Sadly, Anastasia was thinking that Kai was thinking about something else.
A sly smile crept its way onto her attractive face before she lifted her own fork towards Kai.
"Are you jealous? Well, we can't have that. Here you go, say ahh."
Kai felt another blush coming on as he pulled back slightly from the spoon, not wanting to get spoon-fed. He also noticed Ezekial throw a strange glance at him, making Kai even more embarrassed.
"No thank you, I can feed myself."
Anastasia pouted, making Kai feel guilty.
"You think I'm too old to be doing this, don't you? Well, I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable Kai, I apologise."
Kai squirmed in his seat, amazed at how quickly Anastasia had made him feel guilty for not wanting to get spoon-fed. Truly, she was a natural at making him embarrassed.
"You don't have to apologise, its just that I do know how to use a spoon myself, you know?"
A sad smile emerged on Anastasia's face, making Kai blush even more.
"I understand, you don't have to explain yourself, it's my mistake."
Just as Kai was about to take a sigh of relief, he felt the eyes of a certain blonde haired King boring into him, as if giving him a silent order.
It was then that Kai remembered that whole speech Castillian gave about doing what Anastasia wanted.
Kai inwardly cursed his luck.
"Nevermind, just give it to me."
Anastasia's sad smile was instantly replaced by a delighted one, making Kai realise that all of that was just an act.
Kai blushed as he ate the food off of the fork in Anastasia's hand, all the while she was looking at him with eyes that made him feel extremely vulnerable.
"How was it?" Anastasia asked as she pulled the fork away.
"Great." Kai answered as he took a drink of water, the only thing on the table he actually recognised. All of this was just too much for him.
Anastasia giggled slightly as she picked up another bit of food on the same fork.
"Good boy."
Kai sighed as he resigned himself to what was to come.
He had this thought already, but it was being confirmed now.
These six months were not going to be easy for him.
