Actually, now that Kai thought about it, he really didn't know what happened at the end of the tutorial.
Failure did say that Aldred and the moon beasts had a way to survive, which Kai was doubtful of, but it turned out to have worked in the end since Aldred had given Umbra some of his blood.
But what about Failure? Had the charismatic man survived? Had the Demon died? What was the fate of the forest now?
Well, some of those questions could be answered if he opened his status to see what notifications he had received, so that's what Kai did.
And there was two very important ones right at the top.
You have slain crippled abomination of Eradication
You have slain imperfect abomination: 37th born of Eye of the Moon
So those were the names of the abominations that had tormented Failure and Aldred for an amount of time that Kai had no idea of. Well, mainly the imperfect abomination, the crippled one only tormented them for a few minutes, max.
But then again, there was also the fact that that was what they were.
A crippled abomination and one that was described as imperfect were enough to torture Aldred and Failure, beings that Kai thought were incredibly strong.
Then again, they could have been. Kai still had no idea how the powerscaling of this whole situation worked. Normally, they would go off of levels or the rank of someone's soul, but unless it was just the fact that no one bothered to inform Kai, he had no idea how strong the Demon, Aldred or even Failure was in the vast scope of things.
Then, there was also the fact that the Demon was the thirty-seventh born of Eye of the Moon. Does that mean that there's thirty-six abominations out there somewhere that are even stronger than the Demon was?
Kai's body shuddered.
Whoever and wherever Eye of the Moon really was, Kai was sure at this point that he never wanted to meet the guy. He just sounded even more perverted and even more demonic than ever the demons in the story about the Nation of Lust that the Ever-changing had told him.
Then, there was the notification that was under those two.
You have received an item
Kai's grin widened.
An item from one of those two horrible abominations had to be pretty strong, right?
And instantly, Kai could tell from the name which abomination the item had come from.
Blade of Eradication (Legendary)
Kai's heart skipped a beat.
A legendary weapon?
One that had the overpowered ability of that weapon abomination in the name?
Hell yes.
Instantly, Kai summoned the weapon from his soul, not really knowing what to expect. This weapon had come from the thing that had nearly killed him after all.
Strangely though, the weapon did not appear in Kai's hands. Instead, it appeared on the padded floor of the white room.
In comparison to Life Eater, this blade was much larger and much thicker.
That was another thing actually. While this weapon had been in the form of a double headed axe, now it was more of a longsword.
Its edge was much, much sharper than Kai's own claws or sword, and it was also a lot more durable.
Appearance wise, it was actually pretty similar to Life Eater. The actual blade part was a dark crimson colour, while the hilt was a deep black with thin white lines also decorating it. The blade was actually kind of mesmerising, Kai would have almost called it cool if not for the fact it almost killed him like three times.
Then again, maybe after he read the description his bias would change.
Blade of Eradication (Legendary)
A powerful blade created from the remains of a crippled abomination that was blessed by a God. Remnants of that godly power lay dormant inside this blade, slumbering while it recovers its strength. Grants the wielder extra Strength, Constitution and Will equal to 10%, 15% and 10% of their current stats respectively. The user is able to manipulate the form of the blade to a limited amount of options while the user must also be proficient with that weapon type, otherwise the transformation will not succeed. The user is able to unleash an Eradication once a month, or can choose to empower the Eradication in favour of having a longer cooldown.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Well, there was definitely a lot to take in about the weapon, which was to be expected considering it was a Legendary.
For starters, there was still remnants of that power up Eye of the Moon had given it inside the weapons body. What that really meant, Kai wasn't sure, but maybe the blade would be able to get stronger as time passed.
Then, there was the stats part. If Kai were to wield the weapon, he would gain twenty Strength, one Will and he wasn't even sure if he could get any boost to Constitution considering the stat was only seven.
It was fairly obvious that this weapon was meant for someone at a higher level than Kai, considering it gave a percentage boost and not pure stats. Realistically, a percentage boost would be much better as they would grow along side you as you put more assinged and unasigned stat points into those certain stats.
Then, there was the fact that the weapon could change forms. That opened up quite a lot of options utility wise, but then again, Kai wasn't proficient with any type of weapon, so that was pretty useless for now.
And finally, the fact that Kai could use Eradication once a month. The attack that nearly put an end to Aldred and Failure was now in Kai's grasp. He was no longer the weak boy he was ten minutes ago, now he had the power of God and anime on his si-
Yeah, he would have, if not for the tiny little addition at the bottom of the description.
Requirements - Level 100+
Kai's heart sank.
He was only level twenty-three, how long would it even take to reach level one hundred?
A damn long time anyway.
But why was level one hundred even the limit? Does that mean that the Demon was around that level? And if so, what level were Failure or Aldred then?
Still, Kai was dissapointed that he wouldn't be able to make use of the weapon. It seemed that that was why the weapon had spawned on the ground and not in his hand, he just wasn't worthy enough to wield it.
It was something for the future at least, a guaranteed power up once he reached that level.
Still, there was more notifications to get through, so Kai dismissed the weapon in favour of going through his status.
Honestly, he wasn't sure if he would have preferred deluding himself thinking he could pick up the blade rather than reading the next notification.
You have slain Oathsworn Knight Constance
Kai's heart sank.
So Failure died...
It seemed that while Kai was passed out, Failure had ended up succumbing to his injuries and perishing while in Kai's body.
Kai wasn't really sure what to think.
Failure had done so much for him in the short time they had known each other. The advice he had given Kai was nothing short of miraculous and all the information he had shared would most definitely give Kai a boost over everyone else once the tutorial was properly over.
He had also given Kai his tunic, which was currently resting in his soul since he was now wearing the iconic white room robe that he had kind of missed over the last month. His boots were also resting in his soul, meaning the barefoot look was back in fashion.
He had also given Kai the Beast Pellet that allowed Umbra to unlock Stalker. In all honesty, Kai didn't think much of the skill when his familair received it, but it turned out to be an incredibly practical and useful skill.
There was also the Health and Mana potions he had shared, which were one of the main reasons Kai was able to train for so long without really having to slow down.
And most importantly, he had given Kai the ring that was filled with question marks that made him immune to the effects of the Corroding. That itself was an item that had to have an unbelievable value, considering no world was free from the effects of that horrible disease. Some worlds were just better off than others, none were immune.
And even if Failure hadn't given him anything, Kai stil would have to admit that the charismatic man he had got to know in the forest was an incredible person.
He had fought back against the will of a god, protected hundreds of beasts while simultaneously enduring harrowing pain that was being inflicted by the Corroding and Eye of the Moon's curse and was able to do all of that with a smile.
To put it simply, Failure was just that guy.
And even with all of the gifts Failure had given Kai, it seemed that he still had one more to give.
You have received an item
Kai sighed before summoning Failure's final present to him.
What landed on Kai's lap was the crown that Failure had worn before fusing with Kai. Only now the crown was a little less purple and a lot more golden.
It was a beautiful item, one that would definitely catch the eye of anyone that gazed upon it.
Still, Kai had to read the description before the realisation that Failure was dead properly hit him.
Crown of Failure (Legendary)
Another Legendary item...
A crown that was worn by a false king that still managed to rule his people better than the true ruler. This crown will only recognise those who were companions of Constance himself as fit to wear it. Grants the wearer +500 Luck and +500 Strength. The user is also able to flare their Luck in an area around them, empowering any the wearer deems an ally. Any ally that is affected by this boost will provide the wearer with an additional +10 Luck. Effect can stack.
Requirements - Level 100+ and has to be a companion recognised by Constance.
So that was that. Another Legendary item, this time given from killing Failure, which Kai wasn't really sure if he should have been credited with the kill, he wasn't even awake when it happened.
The effects of this one were a little stranger, one thousand raw stats and the possibility to increase your Luck by a lot if you're fighting with an army. It looked like this item was more suited for a commander or leader rather than someone like Kai.
Still, the requirements were steep, you also had to be level one hundred to use this and you also had to be deemed an ally of Constance.
It was a little sad that it turns out Failure didn't even have a second name, but Kai pushed that thought away for now.
It meant that Kai wouldn't be able to give this item away to anyone, considering himself and Aldred were probably the only ones alive who could be considered allies of Failure.
Then again, it's not like Kai was even planning on giving it away in the first place. Even if he had to reach level two hundred to use it, he would do just that to be able to equip the crown.
Kai sighed as he relaced back onto the mattress. He still had a lot more notifications to get through, so he might as well get comfy.
It was then he frowned as he noticed that he missed a notification before Failure's own one, one that Kai had no idea how it even came to be.
