IAM THE MENTOR OF SPIDER-MAN
Chapter 71 – Mafia Operation (3)

Chapter 71 – Mafia Operation (3)

As I stood against Shadow, I felt the gravity of the situation. His powers were tough, but I was set on saving everyone and stopping his evil plans. "Ever thought about giving up?" I asked.

Shadow smirked, his eyes gleaming with malice. "Quite bold for a spider," he retorted. "Do you honestly believe you can defeat me?"

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at Shadow's predictable response. "Ah, the classic villain monologue," I quipped, unable to resist injecting a bit of humor into the tense situation. "Do you villains all read from the same script or something?"

Shadow's smirk faltered slightly, annoyance creeping into his voice. "You dare mock me, Spider-Man," he grumbled. "But you'll soon realize the extent of my power."

I shrugged nonchalantly, maintaining my playful demeanor despite the seriousness of the situation. "Hey, I've dealt with guys like you before," I countered, my tone is softly but firm. "And let me tell you, they all end up the same, you know behind bars, same ol' story."

Shadow looked mad, and said "You may have defeated others in the past," voice filled with angry. "You'll see, Spider-Man, I am unlike any foe you've faced before."

I raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by his threats. "Yeah, yeah, I've heard that one before," I said, casually.

Shadow moved quickly, surrounded by dark energy. I dodged his attack, then shot webs at him.

The sticky webs caught Shadow, briefly stopping him. I quickly moved closer, hitting him fast and hard with punches and kicks. But Shadow broke free from the webbing and fought back.

I used my flashlight from my inventory and aimed it at him.

"Think a flashlight can stop me?" Shadow sneered, facing the bright light head-on.

"Yeah, maybe not directly," I admitted, "but your powers have limits. And this flashlight will exploit them. You've already been using your abilities, so it's only a matter of time before this takes its toll on you," I said, smirking confidently.

Shadow's eyes widened in realization, his confidence waning as he grappled with the consequences of his oversight. "How... how did you know?" he stammered; his voice tinged with desperation.

As Shadow's expression changed from confident to shocked, I smirked. His reaction proved my theory about his vulnerability to intense light.

"Hmm, how did I know?" I pondered, pretending to think for a moment before revealing a shameless word with bold confidence.

"Because I'm Spider-Man," I declared, my grin growing as I embraced my superhero identity.

Filled with determination, I moved forward, aiming to use Shadow's vulnerability to my advantage and stop his threat. As we clashed once more, I used every advantage at my disposal, I relied on my agility and fighting abilities, using every advantage I had to gain control.

"Tsk, I need to come up with a plan. I only have 40 minutes left before my weakness in light is revealed," Shadow muttered to himself, feeling the pressure of time. Determination burned in his eyes as he devised a risky strategy.

As Shadow released the sleeping gas, aiming to knock us out, But I was one step ahead, prepared for such a contingency. As the sleeping gas began to fill the room, I quickly summoned my gas mask in my inventory and ensured that my father, Captain Edward, had one as well.

"Here, Captain Edward," I called out, extending the mask to him amidst the chaos. "Stay safe."

"Thanks, Spider-Man," my father acknowledged, quickly putting on the mask and getting ready for what was to come.

As the gas filled the room, the other officers fell fast asleep, knocked out cold by its effects. But I wasn't worried about Loe; he was on the opposite side of the room, out of harm's way. I trusted him to handle the bad guys over there while I dealt with Shadow here.

As Shadow vanished into thin air, his chilling laughter echoed through the air, sending shivers down my spine. "Spider-Man, I planted a bomb in this place. It will blow up soon, hahahaha," his voice taunted from the shadows.

Before I could react, he materialized in front of Loe, the tension crackling in the air like lightning. Loe, ever vigilant, maintained his stance, ready to confront the dark menace before him. "You!!" Loe's voice boomed with righteous anger.

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

Shadow looked around, seeing that Loe had already defeated his henchmen. With a fast attack he use a shadow-infused punch, he struck Loe in the gut, sending him flying backward. "Loe!!!" I yelled, hurrying to him.

After knocking Loe back, Shadow swiftly retrieved a small gas from his pocket, releasing a sleeping gas that quickly enveloped the area, causing everyone, including the clothed and naked girls, to fall unconscious.

But before I could reach him, Shadow's attention shifted to Mary Rose Fletcher, her unconscious body lying defenseless on the ground. My heart sank at the sight, realizing the grave danger she was in. "No, no, no!" I protested desperately; my fists clenched in anger as I rushed to shield her from any further harm. "Not her! You bastard!" Then the Panic surged through me. Shadow had taken her, and I couldn't let him hurt her.

With a sinister grin, Shadow declared, "This woman will be my bride. We will enjoy ourselves," his words dripping with malice as he licked his lips. Using his shadow as an extension of his will, handing me a paper shrouded in darkness, as he disappeared into the shadows, leaving only his chilling words lingering in my mind. "Come to this place. If you do, you'll die, Spider-Man. But maybe you won't even be alive by then. The bomb's ready to blow."

Wait, how did he even write? Did he sneak a pen in his pocket or something? Maybe he's got invisible ink and a secret notebook hidden in his villain outfit. Ah, the mysteries of supervillain writing supplies!

Anyway I'm Feeling really scared, Because I knew I didn't have much time. People were in danger, and a bomb was about to go off. I had to move quickly.

My spider sense tingled, urging me into action. With a sense of urgency, I prioritized the safety of the civilians, especially they are unconscious. Using my web-shooters with precision, I swiftly scooped up the unconscious civilians, ensuring their safety outside the base.

As the seconds ticked away, the ominous sound of the impending explosion filled the air. "Shit, shit, shit," I cursed under my breath, my heart racing with adrenaline-fueled urgency.

With each unconscious civilian safely removed from harm's way, I turned my attention to Loe he was unconsious, then I zapping him out of the way.

My mission wasn't done. The unconscious officers and my father were still inside, in danger. Racing against time, I zapped them out, one by one, ensuring they were safe before the blast hit.

As the explosion is happening and the gas began to disappear, Edward Wilson, still wearing his gas mask, looked around in confusion, his expression a mixture of concern and bewilderment. "

"What's going on?" he asked, his voice muffled by the mask

"Father!" I exclaimed urgently, zapping him out of harm's way from the crumbling base.

Edward Wilson was surprised by my quick action and the news of our connection. His eyes widened behind the mask as he took in this unexpected revelation. A tense silence hung in the air, interrupted only by the distant echoes of the explosion.

Then The explosion rocked the base, sending shockwaves rippling through the air as debris scattered in all directions. Despite my best efforts, I found myself caught in the blast, my body thrown backward by the force of the explosion.

"Argh!" I grunted in pain as I struggled to push through the chaos, determination driving me forward. Ignoring the searing heat and smoke, I forced myself to keep moving, my mind focused on one thing: survival.

Using all my strength and agility, I pushed through the mess, jumping over things and dodging falling stuff as I rushed toward safety. My Spider-Sense tingled, telling me where to go as I tried to stay ahead of the danger.

At last, I burst out of the collapsing base, stepping into the open air just as the explosion peaked behind me. The blast knocked me forward, but I managed to roll with the impact and land in a crouch. I was bruised, but alive.

Taking a moment to catch my breath, I surveyed the destruction around me, my heart heavy with the realization of what had just occurred.I saw my father he is the only one awake and everyone including loe are unconsious due to sleeping gas.

Realizing the urgency of the situation, I didn't waste any time. As I made to rush off, my father's voice cut through.

"Are you Michael?!" Captain Edward Wilson's tone was urgent, his eyes searching mine for confirmation.

"I'll explain later," I promised, my mind already focused on the task at hand. "But first, I have to go and save Mary. You can handle this from here, Captain," I directed at my father.

"Wait, Michael, it's too dangerous. Give me the location, we'll handle it from here," my father insisted, his concern evident in his voice.

But I knew I couldn't afford to wait for backup. "Father, please," I urged, my voice heavy with emotion. "Let me take care of this. Time's not on our side. It's my duty to save Mary. Trust me, Dad. I'll do whatever it takes. I'm Spider-Man, remember? Saving lives is what I do."

My dad looked worried, his eyes showing how much he cared. "I don't want you getting hurt," he said softly, his concern clear.

As I looked into my father's eyes, I saw the worry etched deeply in his expression. His concern for my safety was showing and I felt it. "Dad," I began, my voice soft but resolute, "I understand your fear. But I can't turn away. Mary needs me." (I continued, to reassure him.) "Just trust me. I will explain everything about me later, but for now, just focus on the civilians and the people who are unconscious. I'll handle Shadow."

Reluctantly, my father nodded, recognizing the urgency of the situation and placing his trust in me. With a final look of concern, then I read the location, shadow left me behind, and I swung into action, determined to rescue Mary Rose and put an end to Shadow's threat once and for all.

Before heading to the location, I quickly chugged down a health potion. I only had 22 left since I'd been giving them out to people over the past few months.

Then as I approached the location, a sinking feeling settled in my stomach. The surroundings were perfect for Shadow's abilities, I knew it was a trap, but I couldn't let him harm Mary. Just as I reached the designated spot, a chilling voice pierced the air

"Welcome, Spider-Man, to my lovely playground," Shadow's voice echoed around me, dripping with malice. "Let the romance begin."
