Chapter 147: The Dawn of Sun (15)

Chapter 147: The Dawn of Sun (15)

On the other side of Newyork

Mark Taylor, aka Nightwing, stood poised, ready to face his adversary. "Let's end this!" he declared, his voice ringing with determination.

Chameleon smirked, his confidence evident. "Bring it on!"

Mark lunged toward Chameleon, but the shapeshifter activated his watch and transformed into an eagle, soaring upward and evading Mark's attack. Mark's fists hit empty air as Chameleon flew above him.

"You sneaky bastard," Mark muttered, watching Chameleon hover in the sky.

Chameleon's voice echoed down, taunting him. "Who do you think I am? An idiot fighting you as a human?"

Chameleon dove towards Mark as an eagle, but Mark sidestepped the attack with ease. Undeterred, Chameleon transformed mid-air into a cheetah, lunging at Mark with incredible speed. Mark shifted into a defensive stance, barely keeping up with Chameleon's rapid transformations.

"It's like I'm fighting an animal!" Mark grumbled, blocking a swipe from the cheetah's claws.

Chameleon shifted again, his form swelling into the massive frame of King Kong. "No, not just an animal," he boomed, his voice deep and resonant. "I am everything!" With a mighty punch, he sent Mark flying backward, crashing into a nearby wall.

"Argh!" Mark groaned, pain coursing through his body.

"You can't beat me. I am a shapeshifter!" Chameleon taunted, his massive form looming over Mark.

Mark struggled to his feet, a determined glint in his eyes. "Maybe I can't, or maybe I can!" he retorted, lunging forward again. This time, he wielded his two batons with precision, striking Chameleon—now in his King Kong form—on both his upper and lower body.

"Argh, you pesky little bitch!" Chameleon roared, swinging his enormous fist at Mark. But Mark evaded the attack with agility, rolling to the side and springing back to his feet.

Chameleon transformed once more, this time into an elephant. He used his trunk to try and batter Mark, but Mark deflected the blows with his batons, moving with quick, fluid motions.

"And You pesky little shit," Mark muttered, a grin forming on his lips as he expertly dodged and blocked Chameleon's attacks.

Despite Chameleon's formidable shape-shifting abilities, Mark's resilience and quick thinking kept him one step ahead. He knew he had to find a way to outsmart Chameleon, to exploit the weaknesses inherent in his constant transformations.

As the battle raged on, Mark's mind raced, formulating a plan to turn the tide in his favor.

Mark thought, "I need to come up with something."

Before he could form a plan, Chameleon transformed into a mouse and darted towards him. In mid-air, Chameleon shifted into a lion, jaws wide open, ready to bite. Mark quickly defended himself, using one baton to keep the lion's fangs at bay. Then, a sudden idea struck him.

With one arm holding off the lion's bite, Mark reached for a grenade with his free hand. He kicked Chameleon's body to create some distance and then activated the grenade. Tossing it at Chameleon, Mark sprinted away, hoping his plan would work.

Chameleon, shocked by Mark's unexpected tactic, realized too late the danger he was in. "I never imagined Nightwing would resort to such a ruthless method," Chameleon thought, scrambling to escape. He transformed into an eagle to fly away, but the grenade detonated before he could fully evade the blast.

The explosion caught him from behind, sending shockwaves of pain through his body. Shifting back into King Kong, Chameleon roared in agony, clutching his injured back. "Aurgg!!" he groaned, feeling the searing pain from the explosion. "Luckily it's only my back. If it were my whole body, I could have died," Chameleon thought, seething with fury.

"This bastard... to think he doesn't hesitate to kill me."

Seeing Chameleon struggling, Mark took the opportunity to press his advantage. He knew he had to keep up the pressure. Drawing on his remaining strength, he charged at the wounded Chameleon, determined to end the fight once and for all.

Mark gripped his baton tightly and swung it at the wounded Chameleon. The villain, still in his King Kong form, roared in fury. "You bastard!!!" he shout, defending against Mark's relentless strikes.

"Time to end this!" Mark declared, his resolve unwavering.

Chameleon struggled to keep up with Mark's attacks, grunting with effort. "Why did you do that?" he demanded.

"Do what?" Mark responded, landing another blow.

"Almost killing me!!" Chameleon snarled, his voice filled with outrage.

"Oh, the grenade thing... Nah, I knew you wouldn't die, that's why I did it," Mark replied coolly, his strikes unrelenting.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

"You crazy motherfucker!!!!" Chameleon roared, his frustration boiling over. He activated his watch and transformed into an elephant, charging at Mark. "Die!!!" he shout, swinging his massive trunk.

Mark dodged the attack with agility, barely missing the powerful swing. "You still have energy left after that blast hit you?" he sighed, evading another swing of the trunk. "What a pain in the ass."

Seeing an opening, Mark lunged forward, aiming his baton at a vulnerable spot on Chameleon's elephant form. He knew he had to keep the pressure on and exploit every weakness if he wanted to bring this fight to a close.

Chameleon, despite his strength and size, was beginning to falter. The pain from the grenade blast and Mark's relentless assault were taking their toll. "You won't beat me that easily," he growled, his voice strained.

"We'll see about that," Mark retorted, his focus unwavering. He swung his baton with all his might, aiming to bring the massive foe down once and for all.

Michael Wilson, aka The Legendary Spider-Man, fighting the trio—Taskmaster, Kraven, and Doctor Octopus

As I fought these three villains, who were now exhausted and lying on the ground but still managed to stand up, I knew I had to finish this quickly. I had to go deal with Dr. Doom, who was up to something, and I couldn't afford any delays.

Doctor Octopus shouted, "Fuck you, Spider-Man!" as he lunged another tentacle towards me. This time, I just grabbed it.

"Sorry pal, but I need to finish this," I said, then quickly slammed him down.

"Aargh!!!" Doctor Octopus gritted his teeth in pain.

I aimed my punch towards him to knock him out, but Kraven was already behind me, sneaking up. He aimed his knife at me, but I evaded it, thanks to berserker mode. I then kicked Kraven, then grabbed his head, and slammed it into the ground, causing him to eat dirt and crumble with a pained "Aargh!!!"

Taskmaster still aimed his arrow at me. I evaded it and quickly said, "Bastard, why do you always use your arrow? Can you use something else?"

Taskmaster replied, "I don't want to fight you in close-quarter combat out of respect for you, Hero."

"Respect, huh? Let's finish this then," I retorted, preparing for the final clash.

Taskmaster then unleashed a flurry of arrows toward me, but I evaded them with ease. Seizing the moment, I sped forward in a quick movement, delivering a powerful punch to his gut, causing him to kneel with a grunt of pain. "Aargh!!" he cried out.

I prepared to knock him out with another punch, but just as I was about to strike, Doctor Octopus's tentacles came at me again. I dodged them, but they managed to create some distance between Taskmaster and me.

I should've finished him first before Taskmaster. And.. They really synchronize well; it doesn't even make sense. But I guess this is the Marvel world—anything is possible,

Determined to end this, I lunged towards Doctor Octavius, ready to finish him off. I deftly evaded his tentacles as they lashed out at me.

"You scoundrel!" Doctor Octavius snarled, aiming his tentacles at me again. "You pesky little shit!"

I twisted midair, swung, and backflipped, dodging his attacks with a fluidity that made me feel like the coolest Spider-Man ever. As I approached him, dodging and twisting my body to avoid the tentacles, I got close enough to use my web shooter. I aimed it at his eyes and fired.

"Aargh!!" Doctor Octavius yelled as the webbing covered his eyes.

Seizing the opportunity, I punched him square in the face, knocking him out for good this time.

As Doctor Octopus lay knocked out on the ground, Kraven lunged at me, laughing maniacally. "Spider-Man, you are really strong!!" he exclaimed, aiming his knife at me.

"Yeah, that's why you should give up," I replied, keeping my eyes on him.

"Give up?" Kraven laughed as he attacked with his knife. "I won't give up on this opportunity!"

"This maniac!" I thought, then I kicked his chest, sending him backward. I quickly used my web shooters to ensnare him in a cocoon of webbing.

"Aargh!!" Kraven struggled, trying to cut through the webbing.

Seizing the moment, I moved to punch him in the face to knock him out. But just as I was about to strike, Taskmaster fired another arrow, forcing me to evade. The distraction gave Kraven enough time to cut through the webbing.

"Shit, this motherfucking Taskmaster," I cursed under my breath.

Taskmaster smirked, readying another arrow. "You're not getting rid of us that easily," he taunted.

I knew I had to change my strategy. These guys were too coordinated, and I needed to separate them. Keeping my focus, I prepared for the next wave of attacks, determined to end this fight once and for all.

Meanwhile

[Peter side]

As I watched the scene unfold, I immediately recognized the figure commanding the chaos. It was Doctor Doom, the infamous adversary of the Fantastic Four. His presence explained why the Fantastic Four were here, locked in a desperate battle against his overwhelming power.

Doom's gaze shifted to me, his eyes narrowing with recognition. "Spider-Man Red, so you are here," he said, his voice filled with a chilling calm.

I met his gaze, my mind racing. "Why are you doing this?" I demanded, trying to understand his twisted logic.

"It's for absolute peace!" Doctor Doom declared, his conviction unwavering.

"Absolute peace?" I echoed, confused by his words.

Doom's expression remained stern. "Spider-Man, how many crimes are committed? How many people hurt each other every day?"

I struggled to find the right words, the weight of his question hanging heavily in the air.

"Every time, right?" Doom continued. "That's why, to prevent this from ever happening... I need to create absolute peace!"

His reasoning was warped, a distorted vision of order and control. Anger surged within me as I replied, "So this is your idea of absolute peace? Killing and causing havoc in New York?"

Doom's eyes gleamed with a dangerous light. "It's for them to realize that what I said is no joke. If they break my rules, they will get hurt!"

His words were chilling, a grim reflection of a world without freedom. "It's just like authoritarianism," I shot back, "We don't have free will!"

Doctor Doom's expression darkened, his resolve unyielding. "Spider-Man, you still fail to grasp the gravity of the situation," he asserted, his voice carrying a tone of finality.

I braced myself, ready to face whatever twisted justification he had concocted for his actions.

"Do you not see the chaos that plagues this world?" Doom continued, gesturing towards the city below us, where the sounds of sirens and the sight of destruction echoed his words. "Crime, corruption, greed... They are the true enemies of peace."

I couldn't deny the truth in his words. The world was far from perfect, plagued by a myriad of problems that seemed insurmountable at times.

"But your methods, Doom," I interjected, unwilling to concede to his dark vision. "They only bring more suffering. True peace cannot be built on fear and oppression."

Doom's gaze hardened, a flicker of frustration crossing his features. "You speak of peace as if it were some unattainable ideal," he countered. "But I have seen the futility of your so-called justice. It is weak, ineffective."

As the Fantastic Four rallied around me, their determination was palpable despite their injuries. Reed's voice cut through the tension, his words laced with urgency and resolve.

"Victor, this isn't the way," he pleaded, his gaze unwavering despite Doom's seething anger.

Doom's fury was palpable as he lashed out at Reed, his words dripping with contempt. "Fuck off, Richard! I'm tired of your words!" he spat, his anger fueling the raw power he drew from the Orbit Sun.

Reed's gaze swept over his teammates, his voice calm yet commanding. "Get yourselves ready, everyone," he instructed, his words a call to action in the face of imminent danger.

Despite his injuries, Johnny's fiery spirit remained undaunted as he eagerly accepted the challenge. " "Flame on!" he declared, his determination shining through despite the odds stacked against them.

Susan offered a silent but meaningful nod of acknowledgment to Reed's directive, her concern for her teammates evident in her demeanor. "Be careful, guys," she urged, her words a reminder of the peril they faced.

The Thing's response was characteristically straightforward yet resolute as he prepared for the coming battle. "It's clobberin' time!" he announced, his readiness to confront Doom unwavering.

Reed turned to me, his eyes alight with purpose as he outlined the plan. "Spider-Man Red, I have a plan, but we need to keep Doom distracted while I set it in motion," he explained, his confidence bolstering my resolve.

I nodded in agreement, understanding the gravity of our task. "Got it," I affirmed, my determination matching Reed's own.

With a final glance exchanged between teammates, Reed's voice rang out with unwavering resolve. "Great, then let's do this, everyone!" he declared, rallying us for the impending clash against Doom's formidable power.

As if in response to our unity, Doom's voice boomed with ominous intent. "This will be your downfall, Fantastic Four and Spider-Man Red!" he warned, his threat hanging heavy in the air as the stage was set for our confrontation
