IAM THE MENTOR OF SPIDER-MAN
Chapter 57 Slums (11)

Chapter 57 Slums (11)

[Mark Sides]

"So, let me get this straight," Mark asked Jamal, sounding both understanding and worried. "You're out for payback against the government?" His tone was easy to understand, like he was trying to make sense of things for himself and for everyone listening. "But the government already paid for what they did. After all, it was 10 years ago," he explained, simplifying the situation so everyone could follow along.

Jamal Tesfaye, also known as Boss Jon, sighed heavily, his face reflecting the weight of his past. "Yeah, I Know," he said, his words filled with bitterness. " But I can't forget what they did. It's sickening to see them try to make amends. Feels like they're making fun of us victims," he continued, his voice full of resentment. "I Lost my dad because of them. No amount of apologies will bring him back."

After Jamal finished Talking, Thomas finally spoke, his voice rough but filled with wisdom. "Revenge is a heavy burden to carry, son," he began, speaking slowly. "But there comes a time when we gotta let go of the past and choose a different path forward."

He looked at Jamal with a mix of empathy and insight. "Your father would want you to find peace, not perpetuate a cycle of violence," Thomas added gently, his words carrying the weight of his own life experiences.

Then Loe interrupted angrily, his frustration clear in his tone. "That doesn't mean you had to kill Boss Albert!" he shouted at Jamal, his voice echoing in the room.

Jamal paused, visibly taken aback by Loe's outburst. "I'm really sorry, I—" he began, but his words were cut off as his group of henchmen suddenly burst into the room, their arrival interrupting the tense conversation.

As Jamal and his group entered the room, you could practically feel the tension rise. Among them was Anton, one of Jamal's trusted henchmen, his presence adding to the gravity of the situation.

"Boss Jon," Anton called out, his voice carrying authority as he addressed Jamal. Then, with a steely resolve, he barked his orders to his comrades. "Men, point your weapons at them!"

The order caused panic, making the tense situation even more intense. In reaction, the rich prisoners, who had grabbed weapons back then, quickly aimed them at Anton and his crew.

The situation felt like a tense standoff, like when two chess players are locked in a game, neither wanting to make the first move.

Everyone was on edge, waiting anxiously to see what would happen next. The air was thick with tension, and the only sound was the sound of everyone holding their breath, waiting for something to happen.

Caught in the middle of this intense standoff, Jamal stayed calm, his brain racing to find a way out without violence. Speaking firmly but soothingly, he stepped in, his voice calming the tension like magic.

"Hold your fire, everyone," Jamal commanded, his words carrying authority. "Let's not escalate this any further."

"Anton, cut it out," Jamal commanded, his tone stern.

"But Boss Jon, look at our henchmen over there," Anton retorted, gesturing towards his unconscious allies who had been immobilized by Spider-Man. "They're defenseless."

"That's enough," Jamal interjected firmly, his voice carrying authority. "I don't want any more violence. Besides, they're armed too, so it's pointless." He took a moment to gather his thoughts before adding, "Anton, I'm thinking about giving up."

Anton's eyes widened in surprise, his face showing both shock and disbelief. "Surrender?" he exclaimed, sounding incredulous."But Boss Jon, we've come too far to back down now. Surrendering would go against everything we've fought for!"

Anton looked around at his comrades, hoping for support, but all he found was doubt staring back at him. Gritting his teeth, he faced Jamal again, his determination faltering but his loyalty still holding strong. "Boss Jon, think about what you're saying. We can't just give up like this. We have a cause to fight for."

Jamal looked directly at Anton, his face showing determination mixed with a touch of sadness. "I get why you're committed, Anton. But sometimes, the smartest move is knowing when to stop," he said calmly, choosing his words carefully. "We've proven our point, but more fighting won't fix anything. It's better to stop now before more people get hurt."

"What made you change?" Anton asked, sounding surprised.

Taking a moment to think, Jamal considered the recent events that influenced his decision. "Well, let's just say someone reminded me of my past self," he answered vaguely, giving a significant look to Mark and Loe.

Meanwhile

Chris watched the fight with worry written all over his face. "Spider-Man looks like he's getting weaker. What's going on?" he asked, his voice full of concern.

Next to Chris, his father Conrad Hilton, watched the scene closely. "Hmm, he really looks like he's getting weaker," Conrad observed, his tone calm but pensive. "Maybe it's all part of his plan, or perhaps there's something else going on."

Chris glanced at his father, frustration evident in his expression. "Sometimes it feels like you're clueless, Dad," he retorted, his voice sounding annoyed. "Can't you see Spider-Man is seriously weakened? That's why we need to help him."

As Chris eyed the gun that Spider-Man had thrown to them earlier for safety, a determined gleam appeared in his eyes. He reached for it, his fingers curling around the weapon with purpose. With a resolute nod, he knew what needed to be done

"It looks like you've lost, Spider-Man," Sephiro jeered, laughing a bit. But then he started coughing, a clear sign of the injuries he sustained from our earlier clash. Still, he kept going, showing he wouldn't give up.

"You're like an old guy holding his chest like he's having a heart attack," I joked, trying to make funny things in this situation.

"Even with these injuries, I can still finish you off," he declared, his voice sounding tired but determined. With a serious look, Sephiro got ready to attack one last time, aiming to end our fight for good.

"Damn it," I muttered under my breath. "If only I had more time Back then before the side effects kicked in ." I sighed in frustration.

As Sephiro approached me, he asked, "Any last words?"

But before I could respond, a gunshot rang out, piercing the tense atmosphere. Sephiro's expression twisted in shock and pain as the bullet hit him. Leaving him wide open and vulnerable. His confident demeanor shattered in an instant, replaced by disbelief as he stumbled forward, the impact of the gunshot sending waves of agony through his body.

"Who?!" Sephiro exclaimed, his gaze darting towards the source of the gunshot. As his eyes landed on Chris, a mixture of shock and rage twisted his features. "You!"

Ignoring his injuries, Sephiro charged towards Chris with a fierce determination. Despite the pain coursing through him, he swung a powerful punch aimed at Chris's gut, fueled by a desperate need for retaliation.

"Chris, watch out!" Conrad shouted, his voice tinged with panic as he lunged forward to shield his son.

But before Conrad could reach him, Sephiro punched Chris hard in the stomach. Chris felt an intense pain shoot through him.

As Sephiro advanced menacingly towards Conrad, Chris, still reeling from the impact of the blow, stumbled backward. The pain in his stomach grew worse, making him feel sick With a groan, Chris's vision blurred, and he collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

"Ugh... Dad..." Chris managed to murmur weakly, his hand reaching out as if seeking reassurance before he lost consciousness.

Even though Conrad usually stays strong, he felt his heart tighten with fear and sadness seeing Chris fall. Hurrying to Chris's side, he felt a wave of worry wash over him. His hands shook as he carefully held Chris, who was now unconscious.

Sephiro looked at Spider-Man, seeing the hero's wounds. "He's already Injured, that Spider," Sephiro said with a smirk. Despite holding his chest in pain, Sephiro moved quickly, showing how determined and tough he was.

Then Sephiro's eyes glinted with satisfaction as he watched Chris predicament. "What's your move, Conrad Hilton?" he sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "I'll take you both down before I finish Spider-Man.

Conrad's face tightened with determination as he glared at Sephiro. "You'll regret this," he promised, his voice trembling with anger. "I swear it."

"Oh," Sephiro grunted in surprise as he lunged forward, his fist aimed at Conrad. But before his punch could connect, a web shot out and wrapped around his arm, yanking him away with unexpected force.

Caught off guard, Sephiro stumbled backward, his momentum halted by the sudden intervention. He struggled against the webbing, his face twisting with frustration and rage as he realized he had been stopped once more.

As I witnessed Sephiro's brutal attack on Chris, a surge of anger and determination coursed through me. "You monster," I murmured under my breath, my fists clenched in frustration.

Summoning all my remaining strength, I called upon the Spider-Man System in my mind. "System, give me the health potion from my inventory," I requested. Instantly, the bottle of health potion appeared in my hand, a glimmer of hope amidst this predicament.

Unable to move much due to my injuries, So I dont have time to take off my mask to drink the potion. So, I mentally switched off my hero mode and took a sip of the potion. Instantly, I felt better. The pain faded away, and I felt stronger.

"Hero on," I whispered as I transformed back into Spider-Man, ready to confront Sephiro and protect them.
