Chapter 150: The Dawn of Sun (18)

Chapter 150: The Dawn of Sun (18)

Reed's voice rang out with authority, cutting through the tension. "Victor, it's over. Give up."

But Doom's defiance was unwavering. "I won't surrender. My vision for absolute peace was within reach, until you meddlers ruined it!"

I stepped forward, my tone firm. "Um Victor Guy right? Well um your version of peace is nothing but a flawed illusion, Victor. It's built on fear and control, not genuine harmony."

You know, I've read about Dr. Doom comics back in my world, and his backstory is pretty intense and interesting at the same time. Losing his parents like that definitely shaped him. And yeah, his ambition for ultimate peace sounds noble at first, but when you really think about it, his methods are all wrong. Suppressing people to achieve peace? That's not peace at all. It's like treating people like toys, controlling them to fit into your idea of how things should be. And that's why I'm against it.

Just as I was lost in these thoughts, Dr. Doom interrupted me, bringing me back to the present moment.

Doom's eyes flashed with anger. "You dare to question my vision? My dream is a reality, not some delusion!"

"You call it reality, but it's a delusion," I countered. "You rule through fear, suppressing people's desires to maintain control. But locking away their desires only sets the stage for future chaos."

Doom's confidence faltered for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure. "What does it matter? Human desires lead to chaos, to war and crime. My rule ensures order."

I shook my head. "You're partially right, but you're also wrong. Suppressing desires doesn't eliminate them; it only postpones the inevitable explosion of pent-up emotions. And when that explosion comes, it will be far more destructive."

I Continued saying "True peace isn't achieved through fear and oppression. It comes from understanding, compassion, and freedom. You've chosen the path of tyranny, Victor, and it will only lead to more suffering."

Doom's demeanor softened, a flicker of doubt betraying his facade of certainty. "And what would you propose, Spider-Man? Anarchy? Chaos?"

I looked directly into Doom's eyes, my words clear and resolute. "I propose liberation. Liberation from the shackles of fear and oppression. Because True peace can only be achieved when humanity is free to pursue its aspirations, and you know face life's challenges without being weighed down by someone else's rules."

Dr. Doom's eyes narrowed as he listened to my words, his expression a mixture of defiance and frustration. "You dare to lecture me on True Peace, Spider-Man? You, who hides behind a mask and plays hero while the world crumbles around you!"

I met his gaze, unwavering. "I may wear a mask, but I see the truth, Victor. And your so-called peace is nothing but a facade, a thin veil hiding the tyranny and oppression you seek to impose on the world."

Doom's fists clenched at his sides, his anger palpable. "What do you know huh? Let me say something to you Spider-Man...."

Dr Doom look in my eyes with serious gaze and said "You know nothing of my vision for this world. You are blinded by your own self-righteousness, unable to comprehend the sacrifices necessary for true order to reign."

Reed Richards stepped forward, his voice calm but firm. "Victor This is wrong, you have to see reason. Your methods will only lead to more suffering, not peace."

Doom's gaze shifted to Reed, a flicker of doubt crossing his features. "Reed, you were once my friend. You of all people should understand the necessity of my actions."

Reed shook his head, his expression pained. "I understand your intentions, Victor... I really do. But what you fail to see is that true peace cannot be forced upon others. It must be achieved through understanding, compassion, and mutual respect."

"Enough!" With a sudden roar, he silenced our debate, his voice echoing through the battlefield. "I will not be swayed by your empty words. My vision for this world will become a reality, with or without your approval."

Then suddenly Dr.Doom said "Time to end this" as he charged himself full of intense heat and electricity.

As Dr. Doom filled himself with scorching heat and crackling electricity, it was like the air around us was charged with danger. In that instant, I grasped the seriousness of the situation. Every passing second felt heavier with the threat of impending disaster, making it clear that we were on the brink of something catastrophic.

"What... what is happening?!" I exclaimed, my voice tinged with urgency.

Then, like a beacon of warning, the Spider-Man System echoed in my mind. "Host, it appears he intends to unleash the full might of the Orbit Sun, risking the destruction of New York City."

My heart sank at the revelation. "Would he... would he die too?" I asked, my voice trembling with concern.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

The Spider-Man System responded solemnly, "Well, host, harnessing the full power of the Orbit Sun would indeed push him to the brink of death."

Shit, shit, shit. The weight of the impending disaster pressed down upon me, threatening to crush my resolve.

Before I could gather my thoughts, Peter interjected, his voice filled with urgency. "Captain, what's happening?"

I turned to face him and the Fantastic Four, a sense of grim determination settling over me. "We have to stop this," I declared, my voice firm. "The power of the Orbit Sun, he's charging it up. If we can't stop it....."

Fantastic 4 and Peter exchanged worried glances as they listened to my words.

Reed's expression darkened with realization. "What? What will happen?"

"It will destroy New York City!" I exclaimed, the gravity of the situation sinking in.

Johnny Storm cursed under his breath. "Fuck, then it's bad news."

Susan Storm turned to Reed, her eyes wide with concern. "Dear, what should we do?"

Reed's mind raced, searching for a solution amidst the chaos. "Fucking hell, let me think, shit."

Ben Grimm's resigned tone cut through the tension. "It's over."

Desperation clawed at my chest as I turned to the System once more, my voice a plea for salvation. "System, is there an item that can stop the Orbit Sun? I have 35 million points in the shop."

The system informed me, "Sir, there is an option, but it may not be sufficient. The power of the Orbit Sun is overwhelming, and the required solution exceeds your current resources. However, there is a more affordable option called Absorption Energy. It costs 10 million points, but be warned: if you absorb too much Orbit Sun from it, you will die."

In a moment of desperation, I realized the gravity of the situation. Even though my life was at stake, my primary concern was the safety of the people. While the idea of my own death was daunting, what truly troubled me was the thought of leaving my family behind, filled with sorrow. But with no other options left, I had to make the tough decision, willing to give up my life if it meant protecting others.

"I don't have a choice," I said to the System, my voice steady despite the fear coursing through me. "Give me that item now."

The system said "okay host initiating ding..."

Name: Energy Absorption Device

Description: A handheld gauntlet capable of absorbing energy from lightning, fire, etc. It can store this energy and release it in powerful bursts. However, absorbing too much can lead to death. Cost: 10 million shop points.

Suddenly, a gauntlet appeared on my right hand as the system initiated the Energy Absorption Device. I glanced at Peter and said, "Stay here, Red. I'll handle this."

Peter protested, "Wait, Captain, what are you going to do?"

With determination fueling every step, I ignored Peter's protests and lunged toward Dr. Doom. The air crackled with intense heat and electricity, swirling around the villain in a menacing aura.

As I closed in, the energy absorption device on my hand hummed with power, ready to fulfill its purpose. Dr. Doom's eyes narrowed as he sensed my approach, his lips curling into a sinister grin.

I could feel the searing heat radiating from him as I extended my hand towards the swirling vortex of energy. With a deep breath, I activated the absorption mechanism, bracing myself for the onslaught of power.

The moment my hand made contact with the energy, a surge of agony ripped through me. It felt like my entire being was being scorched from the inside out. Every muscle in my body screamed in protest, but I clenched my jaw, refusing to yield.

The pain was like nothing I'd ever felt. It felt as if every part of me was being crushed and burned at the same time. But even in that agony, I knew I had to keep going. There was no other choice. The city's safety depended on it.

Then Dr. Doom's expression shifted from amusement to surprise as he realized what I was doing. His attempts to increase the intensity of the orbit sun's power only fueled my determination. With each passing moment, I absorbed more and more of the energy, pushing myself to the brink of my endurance.

But even as I fought against the overwhelming pain, doubts crept into my mind. Was I strong enough to withstand this? Could I truly absorb all of Dr. Doom's power without succumbing to its destructive force?

....

Meanwhile, Susan Storm activated her force field, shielding the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man Red from the intense heat and electricity emanating from Dr. Doom's orbit sun.

As she concentrated, Susan felt the energy absorption taking place. She turned to the others and said, "Spider-Man is absorbing the orbit sun. I can feel it in my force fields."

Peter's eyes widened in sheer shock, his heart pounding with dread. "What will happen, ma'am? What will happen?" he pleaded urgently, his voice trembling with fear.

Susan's expression darkened, a solemn gravity weighing down her features. "He will die," she stated with a heavy finality, her voice tinged with sorrow for the impending fate of the Legendary Spider-Man

Peter's panic surged like a tidal wave, drowning him in a sense of helplessness. "No, no, no!" he cried out, each word laden with desperation. He frantically pushed against Susan's force field, his voice cracking with emotion. "Let me out of here!"

His fear was tangible, filling the air with tension. All he wanted was to intervene, to rescue his Mentor from the danger he faced.

Reed wrapped his arm around Peter's torso firmly, his voice carrying a note of urgency. "Kid, it's too dangerous," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Stay back!" His words were clear and direct, a firm command born out of concern for Peter's safety. He knew the gravity of the situation and was determined to keep Peter out of harm's way, even if it meant physically restraining him against his will.

....

[Meanwhile Michael Wilson side]

As I absorbed the overwhelming power, waves of searing agony surged through me, threatening to engulf my senses. "Argh!" I cried out in anguish, my teeth gritted against the unbearable pain. Is this how it ends? Will I perish here, leaving behind nothing but grief and sorrow for those I hold dear? Mary, Mark, Chris, Loe, Emily, Peter... the thought of their anguish at my demise fueled a fierce determination within me. No, I cannot die. I mustn't.

But as the darkness of impending death loomed closer, a sudden intervention disrupted my grim fate. Someone appeared behind me, swiftly throwing me out of harm's way and seizing the gauntlet I held.

Stunned and disoriented, I saw him and It was Electro?, of all people, took my place. Why would he risk himself for me? And what did he intend to do with the gauntlet?

Maxwell's voice pierced through the chaos, his determination unwavering despite the imminent danger. "You can't die, hero!" he declared, his eyes fixed on the swirling vortex of energy before him. With a resolute gaze, he turned towards the source of power, ready to shoulder the burden in my stead.

In the tense moment, Dr. Doom's enraged voice echoed through the chaos. "You traitor! You've betrayed us!"

Maxwell's response was calm but firm. "I haven't betrayed anyone, just you know I was never one of you," he declared, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade.

With unwavering resolve, Maxwell began to absorb the overwhelming energy of the orbiting sun, each surge of power wracking his body with unbearable pain. "Argh!" he gritted his teeth, his form trembling from the sheer force of the energy coursing through him.

I watched helplessly from a distance, my heart heavy with a sense of impending loss. "No, no, no!" I exclaimed, and I tried to move closer, to reach out to Maxwell, but the pain from absorbing too much energy left me paralyzed, unable to do anything but bear witness to the tragedy unfolding before me.

But Maxwell's gaze met mine, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Tell Sir Chris that I'm sorry... And I love him as my father," he uttered, his words tinged with a bittersweet farewell.

My heart clenched with anguish, tears welling in my eyes as I struggled to comprehend the sacrifice Maxwell was making. "No!" I cried out, my voice echoing with the weight of my despair.

After Maxwell absorbed all the energy, everything around us seemed to freeze. The brightness of the energy was blinding, surrounding Maxwell and Dr. Doom in a radiant glow. It felt like time itself had paused, and the atmosphere crackled with an otherworldly force. The ground beneath us quivered with the sheer power of the energy, creating a chaotic whirlwind of light and sound that enveloped us all.

After the big explosion, everything was a mess. The air felt shaky, like it was trembling, and the ground seemed to be moving too. We had to cover our eyes because the light was so bright.

Then, little by little, things started to calm down. The shaking stopped, and the noise faded away. It got quiet, like really quiet. As the dust settled, we cautiously lowered our arms, our hearts pounding in our chests.

In the midst of all the chaos, I saw in the distance, It was Maxwell Dillon kneeling on the ground. He looked completely burnt, like it had been roasted in an oven.. Then the realization hit me like a sledgehammer – he was dead. He absorbed too much of the energy, and it cost him his life.

Today Electro no.. Maxwell Dillon Died.
