let's go and welcome them in Kael's way

Miners took the mining tools and walked towards the guards with angry glares on their faces.

They started attacking the guards with all the strength left in their bodies; they didn't hold back in any of their attacks.

Puchuk… Ah…

Kael walked out of the mine while hellish screams reverberated all over the place. While they were on their way, Kael turned to look at the young man and said, "If you don't have any issues, you and your family can stay with me at my temporary base. I will provide food and water. Of course, you have to earn your food and water with your own efforts."

"I won't force you. Take your time and think. I will escort you and your family wherever you want to go," said Kael with a calm look on his face.

Then he turned around and looked at the siblings and asked, "Are you sure you two want to follow me and stay at my temporary base?"

"Hmm, savior… follow you… stay with you…" said the siblings in unison.

"Okay, even though I didn't quite understand what you said, I understand one thing from your looks: you two want to follow me no matter what it takes," said Kael while looking at the siblings.

He took out a box of bread packs and another box of drinking water and started sharing them with everyone who was with him.

Their eyes widened with surprise as they drank the water and munched on the bread at the same time. Their dull, lifeless eyes started gaining life, and their pale faces started gaining some color.

The siblings started crying while hugging each other. They remembered the time when they got a piece of bread once a day. Their mother never ate and always tore it into two small pieces and gave it to the siblings. Their skinny mother always smiled sweetly while looking at her son and daughter eating. She survived until the day she died by only drinking contaminated water in the mine.

Kael sighed while looking at the siblings and placed his hand on their heads. Both of them raised their heads to look at him and hugged him, continuing to cry even louder.

"Okay, you two can cry however much you want, but stop rubbing your tears and mucus on my clothes," said Kael with a helpless look on his face.

The siblings moved back and started wiping away their tears and mucus.

Then he turned around to look at the young man and asked, "Have you decided? Do you want to follow me and stay at my temporary base, or do you want to go somewhere else?"

The young man shook his head and said with a stern gaze, "In this world, there is no one that I can trust as much as I trust you, so I want to live in your temporary base with my family from now on."

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

"Hmm, good choice," said Kael, nodding his head.

"Thanks," said Sareena with a happy smile on her face.

Kael nodded his head and winked at her with his lips curled up.

All of them moved towards Kael's temporary base. It took them a few hours to finally reach the destination, and zombie leaders who were guarding the door opened it the moment they caught sight of Kael's approach.

"Welcome home, boss," said the two zombie leaders in unison while bowing their heads.

Since everyone living in this apocalyptic world saw zombies and many different kinds of monsters, the disfigurement of the male and female zombie leaders didn't catch any of their interest.

Since the temporary base is a huge building, they have enough rooms for everyone to stay. It is big enough to accommodate a huge colony out there, not to mention accommodating these small groups of people.

Kael introduced the newcomers to four young ladies. It took them a few minutes to get to know each other, and after they all got to know each other, they went to the main hall and started eating a blissful dinner. Kael felt happy seeing so many people enjoying their meals. In this current world, there is no interest in food; everyone eats everything that is edible, it doesn't matter what it is. He thought, "People only know the value of something when it is hard to obtain."

[Warning… Warning… Enemies are approaching]

"Oh, how much distance are they from my temporary base?" asked Kael.

[1000 meters]

"They are close."

[Another group of enemies is approaching]

"Another group? Interesting, let's go and welcome them in Kael's way," Kael said with a ruthless glint flashing through his eyes.

He rarely messes with others, but he will never hold back when someone messes with him.

He carried the folded chair out of the building, unfolded it, and then placed it on the ground. All the kids hurriedly swarmed around the windows, looking outside curiously. Kael sat on the chair, folded his arms, and then closed his eyes.

It didn't take long for them to catch up with him, but surprisingly, one group hadn't shown up, and the other group that reached him was from the Miller family.

"It's you," Veer pointed his finger at Kael with a surprised look on his face.

"Boss, do you want us to deal with these ants?" asked the male zombie leader while bowing beside Kael.

Kael shook his head and said, "No, your methods of killing are not as cruel as mine, so I will deal with these uninvited guests by myself."

"Ok," the male zombie leader nodded his head, moved back, and stood in front of the entrance of the building.

"Yo, dumbass, long time no see. How are you doing? Are you messing with innocents again?" asked Kael sarcastically.

"You imbecile, do you think I will come unprepared like last time? Now you don't have any chance to fight back. I came together with a variant; he can squeeze you to death," said Veer in a condescending tone.

"Actually, I would have spared your life if you were not a bad guy and were just doing it because you had to due to circumstances, but you are a bad guy and you did everything because you wanted to. So I don't feel any ounce of remorse after I kill you," said Kael while looking at Veer.

"Hehe, thanks to you messing with the Miller family mine, my dad let me control a variant. If you hadn't messed with our mine, my dad would never have let me control a variant. Don't worry, I have killed every last one of those filthy things that killed my guards. There are a few left, and they are with you, right? Give them back to me, and I will let the variant keep your corpse intact," said Veer, showing his bare teeth with a mocking smile on his face.
