What a job!

We stopped at Floor 10 for an hour, letting Lisa get used to her new abilities.

The Orcs here were slightly weaker than in Orario, or maybe we were so durable that we couldn't feel them.

"I can feel their hate." Lisa said with a grimace.

Yeah, the Dungeon was designed to hate everyone entering its halls.

Instead of answering, I opened my game screen to look at the Classes and Jobs I could pick from.

Normal stuff like Swordsman or Brawler would give me a slight boost in combat, but I was looking for something...special.

Far down in the list I found it.

Cultivator. This class can allow the user to absorb the Heavenly Energy and transform it into Chi, increasing strength, speed, intellect and healing by a large amount. Furthermore, the Chi allows for external manipulation of weapons and elements, and even flight.

Basically it was a second Falna, but powered by Chi instead of divine blood.

"I am choosing Cultivator as my Class." I warned Lisa, then pressed the button.

"Eh? Isn't that redundant?" Lisa asked me as she casually flicked a psychic blast and demolished a dozen Orcs at once.

I had already opened my Job selection, and scrolled among the options. Perhaps a sign or color would have helped to signal which one was rare or epic, but there was nothing. I had to use my gut. Cook would be useless, since monsters simply dissolved. Hunter?

I kept scrolling. Ghost summoner?

Perhaps related to my Black Ghost? Most likely. So the Jobs did account for my abilities and skills.

Beast Tamer. That sounded nice. If Dungeon monsters could be tamed...

Traveling merchant. Probably related to my dimension pocket.

A bit complicated for me then. Maybe Lisa would pick something nice.

Wait! Dungeoneer. This was exactly what I was doing. Diving into a Dungeon.

"Picking Dungeoneer as my Job." I alerted Lisa as I pressed the button.

Dungeoneer. This Job is for those strange people that actually enjoy being inside the Dungeon. The Dungeon likes you even less. On the flip side, you get increased loot, rare drops normally reserved for Lucky or Chosen users and a slight increase in exp. Enjoy!

Hmmm. What does it mean the Dungeon likes me even less? It doesn't like anybody.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

"Is it that bad?" Lisa asked as she sensed my mood.

"Better and more loot." I answered while keeping on the flip side.

An Orc sneaked up behind me and smacked my head with a club. I slapped his head off, and a vial fell on the ground. So I read the game description.

*A vial of Orc blood. Increases strength and regeneration.

My eyebrow went high up and Lisa ran at my side. "Whoa! If only we had a Tinker in our party...wait..."

Lisa stopped and began scrolling among Classes and Jobs. Much faster than I could read. Damn anime powers!

"I can choose Alchemist and Potioneer. Or Transmuteer and Warlock." she spoke after narrowing down her choices.

"Uh. Alchemy is basically a science, but we lack the manuals." I mused to myself, while my Spirit Weapon flew around and decapitated nearing Orcs.

Another vial fell out of a dozen kills. Quite a huge increase in drops, compared to Orario or even our dive so far. Maybe 10 times more? Or 20 times?

My new Job had nice perks.

Lisa picked the vial with telekinesis and held it up.

*A vial of Orc ichor. Increases endurance.

"Fuck me! Transmuteer and Potioneer then. And start killing faster! I want more vials!" Lisa yelled as she ran towards the largest horde of Orcs.

I followed and began killing Orcs in industrial quantities as well. But only using Chi.

The new Cultivator class made me feel like floating in battle, almost like seeing myself from above. Made avoiding attacks too easy, and reacting much faster. By the time I killed a thousand Orcs, I could sense a field of energy around my body, like a thin shield.

A few hours later I jumped to reach a clump of Orcs faster, but I fell much slower. As soon as that group was dead, I stopped to check my screen.

My Mind had grown by 20% since I chose the new class, which meant it was working. My other stats were rather high, and these Orcs didn't give much exp, which kinda made sense. They were basically level 10 monsters and I was level 29.

Lisa was growing fast from this massacre though, reaching level 11 already.

And 1000 monsters gave me a ration pack, which could be useful for long dives without a logistic chain. Mostly for Lisa to be fair. I would stab myself in the eye and get fed by dying. Still, the game mentioned an inventory.

"Inventory!" I said and another game screen opened, different from my portal dimension.

It was a grid with boxes. 20 by 30 boxes. 600 items, unless you could stack similar stuff.

I grabbed an Orc and tried to store it inside the Inventory, but nothing happened. My pocket dimension was still better.

"We have an Inventory!" I yelled, making Lisa grin like a fox.

"You don't say? And it can hold potions, right?" she asked a bit rhetorical.

I plugged an Orc vial into an Inventory box, and it transformed into a digital icon. So I tried another one. They stacked!

"Yep, and they stack too!" I answered with a grin of my own.

Perhaps feeling too excited, Lisa let out a pulse of energy that murdered a hundred Orcs at once, then ran to hug me tight.

"Esper points: 37!" she exclaimed as she checked her screen.

"Still a bit of work to reach 40, but we can move on towards the Minotaurs now." I said with a light voice.

"Sure. But first I need some food." Lisa answered as her stomach growled.

"Check your inventory." I offered with a shrug.

"Hah! Ration packs!" she yelled while taking out an MRE like box and started wolfing down some pasta and meatballs.

I just killed myself.
